DESCRIPTION

With a wheelbase of 14.5″, a Width of 8″ and a length of 28.5″ the Classic Fender has all the exact same specs as the Classic. The way that the perimeter is cut out on the Classic Fender is identical to the Classic, but the mould has an added feature: wheel flares! Same Classic shape, different concave! The Dinghy Fender has two main attributes: it allows for more wheel clearance, and it locks your feet in. With the 105mm Polar Bear trucks and 72mm Plow King wheels, this setup is ideal if you like sliding, enjoy an aggressive riding style, or just want some huge wheels.

Polar Bear 105mm

Ideal for the mini cruiser that every skater needs in their quiver. The 105mm Polar Bears are strong, agile, and ready to grip the tightest turns. Sold in pairs. The harder the bushings, the more stable the ride but that results in less agility – our Dinghy, for example, comes with 88a bushings.

70mm Supremes

The ultimate all-rounders, we designed the 70mm Supremes to do anything you could want to do on your longboard and do it well. We use a medium sized plastic core to work with the shape of the wheel and a 78a urethane formula for good acceleration and roll speed while providing predictable slides and ample grip. Upgrade your ride today with a set of Supremes.

Spaceballs are our answer to all of your bearing problems. Never again can you lose your washers, or spacers because we’ve built them into the inner race! On the functional side, this means your bearings are always mated correctly which negates any bearing-induced chatter.

From Monday to Friday our hours of operation are 9am – 5pm PST, excluding statutory holidays. There you can provide all of the necessary information and images we require to assess your warrant y claim. Before completing the form please ensure you have photos that show the top and bottom of the board as well as detailed pictures of the affected area.

Please allow us 3-7 business days for us to asses your warranty claim and get in contact with you. We will do our best to make sure you’re back on a quality skateboard as soon as possible.

The following issues are not covered by our warranty:

Impact damage, including snaps and cracks
Run over by a vehicle (or horse)

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below. The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve.

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness. Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

The Landyachtz Dinghy Shape 9 Reef Complete features a shape that has quietly become a team favourite, this cruiser offers a fresh new look and a unique ride!

The most noticeable features are the distinctively squared off nose and extra-wide tail. As a result, it comes set up with Polar Bear 105mm trucks for maximum agility and 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs for a smooth ride with plenty of roll speed and grip!

A slight variation on the Dinghy shape referred to as “Shape 9″, with a length of 28.5″ and 8.5” wide. The most noticeable features are the distinctively squared off nose and extra-wide tail. This shape performs similarly to the classic Dinghy but the unique shape is sure to draw its share of attention.

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below. The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Dinghy Blunt – UV Sun

Our UV graphics change colour when exposed to light, revealing a whole new look when you take them out into the sun. This shape has a little extra width where you need it and a good amount of taper to allow for a more directional feel. Matched up with slightly wider trucks, this shape is great for riders with bigger feet or anyone looking for a little more stability and confidence out of their cruiser board.

The Dinghy Blunt is a small cruiser board that comes in at 28.5″ long and 8.6 wider. The extra width up front and significant taper means you get more leverage over the front truck than the rear one, which gives it more directional steering characteristics and a bit more stability than the classic Dinghy shape. This version features one of our new UV activated graphics that change colour when exposed to sunlight. The Dinghy Blunt is pressed with 7 plies of Canadian maple for a light, stiff and poppy ride and comes set up with Polar Bear 130mm trucks to match the width of the deck. 60mm 78a Chubby Hawgs wheels finish off the setup and ensure you’ll have a smooth ride with plenty of roll speed and grip without having to worry about wheelbite.

Some of us still like to ride a board that is a bit on the narrower-side. And, of course, you need trucks to match it. If you step down in board size then it’s time to step it up to the 130mm Polar Bears. Sold in pairs. Bushings: 85a is softer, 90a is harder. Softer bushings are more lively but less stable – with 88a being what we usually use in our completes.

60mm Chubby Hawgs

Chubby Hawgs are the wheel of choice on many of our cruiser and ATV completes and are now available separately in all the colours of the rainbow! You can upgrade your cruiser set up today. They use the same high-quality urethane found in the Fatty Hawgs for premium performance, just in a smaller package.

Perfect for cruising around and commuting places. the bearings may be stiff at first but they are buttery smooth once you ride around enough. the graphic is just like the picture, the trucks are very sturdy and the wheels can ride through 95% of what you’ll encounter when out and about. can’t recommend enough for the price and quality

Dinghy Blunt - UV Sun

I just started getting into skating this month (june 2024) and i have been loving the new ride so far. The over all shape and graphics of the shape 9 board is comfortable and amazing to look at and ride. Standing on it and zipping around the trails with the 105mm polor bear truck is a learning curve but not to bad and keeps me motivated to get out and ride. Over all a great cruising and starter board for me with lots of zip for trails and being able to navigate quickly when need.

6ft tall. 195lbs. Size 12 shoe. Love the board size and I put the big Plow Kings on, no wheelbite so far. My blunt reaper came with spacers installed and little fatties. Really love the ride with the big PK wheels!

The Dinghy Blunt is a small cruiser board that comes in at 28.5" long and 8.6” wide. The extra width up front and mild taper means you get more leverage over the front truck than the rear one, which gives it a somewhat directional steering characteristic. The Blunt jumps up in size from our other Dinghy models, and so do the trucks.

We set the Dinghy Blunt up with Polar Bear 130s to match the added width perfectly. This setup works best with smaller wheels, so we set it up with 60mm 76a Chubby Hawgs to keep you low to the ground and give you great acceleration. You will have lots of space left over on the trucks for grinds and a nice gradual turn.

With virtually the same wheelbase as the Dinghy Classic & about 20 percent more surface area on the top, you will have the same mini board vibes that you get from the Dinghy, but with added stability and control.

Sergei Ryakhovsky (Sergei Vasilyevich Ryakhovsky) a Soviet-Russian serial killer known as the Balashikha Ripper and The Hippopotamus. Ryakhovsky was convicted for the killing of nineteen people in the Moscow area between 1988 and 1993. Ryakhovsky's mainly stabbed or strangulated his victims, he mutilated some bodies, mainly in the genital area. Allegedly Ryakhovsky carried out necrophilic acts on his victims and stole their belongings. Ryakhovsky standing 6’5" tall and weighting 286 pounds, gaining him the nickname, The Hippo. Sergei Ryakhovsky died on January 21st 2005 from untreated tuberculosis while serving his life sentence in prison.

How to enable or disable the presentation mode settings in windows 11/10.

Presentation Mode is a feature in Windows 10 designed to help people carrying their Presentations on their portable devices. The User can specify certain settings like volume to be set, screensaver to be used, desktop background to be in place in Presentation mode and when the Presentations mode is enabled, these changes are done to the OS.

Only people with Admin rights can enable or disable the Presentation Mode Settings
This feature is only available in Windows Pro, Enterprise, and Education versions.

In this article, let us see how to enable or disable Presentation Mode Settings in Windows 10 in two different ways.

Method 1: Using Registry Editor

Step 1: Open the Run Dialog using the keys Windows+R

Step 2: Type regedit and hit Enter

Step 3: In the UAC window that opens asking for permissions, click on Yes

Registry editing can harm the system even with the slightest mistake. It is advised to take the backup of the registry before proceeding. To take a backup, In the Registry Editor–> Go to File –> Export –> Save your Backup file .

Step 4: In the Registry Editor window, on the search bar at the top, copy-paste the following location

Step 5: If you cannot see the PresentationSettings folder, create one, right-click on Policies, choose New > Key.

Step 6: Name the folder as PresentationSettings

Step 5: Open the PresentationSettings folder.

Step 6: On the right-hand side, right-click anywhere on the empty area.

Step 7: ChooseNew > DWORD(32-bit) Value.

Step 8: Name the newly created Key NoPresentationSettings

Step 9: Double-click on the key to change its value.

Step 10: To Turn Off or disable the Presentation mode settings, Set the value to 1 click OK

Step 11: If you want to enable the settings , set the value to 0 .

Step 12: Restart the System.

Method 2: Using Group Policy Editor

Step 1: Open the Run Command Window using Windows+R.

Step 2: Type gpedit.msc and hit Enter.

Step 3: In the Local Group Policy Editor window that opens, from the left-hand side, navigate to the following location. Simply double-click on the section to expand the selection.

Step 4: On the right-hand side, double-click Turn off Windows presentation settings.

Step 5: To disable this setting, tick on the Disabled option.

Step 6: To Enable, click on the Enabled option.

Step 7: Finally click on the Apply button, followed by OK.

NOTE: Ensure that this setting is applied. If not,

1. Open Run Dialog using Windows+R

2. Type cmd and hold the keys Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open a command prompt in Admin mode.

3. Type the below command and hit Enter

Step 8: Restart your System.

Microsoft Powerpoint is considered by many users to be the best tool to use for Presentations.
Its built-in Presentation Mode allows people to present their files in silence and without any disturbances, because all the Windows alerts and notifications are turned off.
However, some users do not know how to enable Presentation Mode on their Windows 10 devices.
There are many available options for this, which include using the Windows Mobility Center and the search bar.

Microsoft Powerpoint is one of the most powerful tools when it comes to Office Suites. Powerpoint has been one of the most preferred presentation applications for more than a decade.

Users reported that one of the glaring issues was the email notifications/alerts during ongoing presentations. Yet another issue is the screen saver turning on after a few minutes.

What are Windows Presentation Settings?

Unknown to most of us Microsoft has already pondered about the issue and the best part is that they have a feature to make it happen.

The Presentation mode works similarly to the DND mode on your smartphone. With the Presentation Mode switched on, Windows will automatically mute all the alerts and notifications.

Interestingly, the Presentation Settings was introduced with Windows Vista but it has been missing on some of the Windows 10 Versions, for instance, the Presentation Mode is missing from Windows 10 Home Edition.

How can I turn on Windows Presentation Mode on Windows 10 desktops?

When the Windows Presentation mode is turned on the laptop doesn’t go to sleep and all the system notifications are turned off temporarily.

Users can also set a particular background and adjust the speaker volume for the Presentation mode. These settings will be applied whenever the Presentation Mode is activated.

We will guide you through the necessary steps required to switch on the Windows Presentation mode through multiple methods.

1. Via Windows Mobility Center

1. Press the Windows Key to open the search box.

2. Type Windows Mobility Center in the search box and then click on the result.

3. Go to the Presentation Settings tab.

4. Click on the Turn on button.

5. Presentation Mode is now enabled on your laptop.

On your laptop, presentation mode can be quickly toggled on or off from the Windows Mobility Center. Afterwards, you will be able to use your laptop without having to worry about any disturbances.

2. Use a desktop shortcut

Additionally one can also create a desktop shortcut for the same by using the following path name, “C:WindowsSystem32PresentationSettings.exe”. Alternatively, you can also use the presentationsettings/start and presentationsettings/stop to toggle the settings.

3. Use the Search Bar

Yet another easy way to access Presentation Settings is by going to the Search Bar and searching for the following terms: Adjust settings before giving a presentation . The Presentation Settings can also be changed from here by toggling it on/off.

4. Turn on Airplane Mode

Well, this method comes with some limitations but it works nevertheless. If you are certain of not using the internet during the presentation simply Switch on the Airplane Mode.

This will ensure that the notifications don’t disturb your presentation. However, this method is not useful against the Windows screen saver which will still appear after a certain period of inactivity.

Does this also prevent reboots from Windows 10 crappy updates?

I doubt that

I generally use the “pause updates” feature the day before I give a presentation. It should stop windows doing any updates/reboots while you’re delivering a talk :)

Sadly, it seems that the presentationsettings.exe is only available on Windows 10 PRO, not on home.

The Presentation settings are used to configure these advanced changes to the operating system. Users can turn off the screen saver, set the volume, and choose a specific background for the desktop in these settings. An administrator can choose specific settings and disable the Presentation settings feature for other standard users.

Enable/Disable the Presentation Settings

In this article, you will learn about how to enable or disable the Presentation settings in Windows 10. You can use different methods to configure the Presentation settings option.

1. Using the Local Group Policy Editor

The Local Group Policy Editor is a Windows tool that helps administrators in configuring different advanced settings for the users. This can be used to enable and disable the Presentation settings. The Local Group Policy Editor is only available in the Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions. If you are using a Windows 10 Home edition, then skip this method.

The setting can be found under both Computer Configuration and User Configuration categories. In our method, we will be using the one under the Computer Configuration. The path will be the same, only the categories will be different.

Click on the Apply/Ok button and close the Local Group Policy Editor window.
If this doesn’t update instantly, then you need to force update the group policy.

You can always enable it back by changing the toggle option back to Not Configured or Disabled .

2. Using the Registry Editor

Another alternative method is by using the Registry Editor. It can be used to configure the same settings as in the Group Policy Editor. You need to create a value in a specific key of the Registry to enable or disable the Presentation settings through Registry Editor. In addition, if you already used the Group Policy Editor before this method, then the value will already be existing.

The value can be created under both the Current User and Current Machine hives. The path will be same, only the hives will be different.

Click on the Ok button and close the Registry Editor window. Make sure you restart the computer to apply these new changes.
You can always enable it back by changing the value data to 0 . Another way to enable this is by removing the value from the Registry Editor.

Windows 10 has four different projection modes that work with secondary monitors or TVs connected to your PC. To change the projection mode, you can tap the Win+P keyboard shortcut to open the Project panel and you can select whether you want to use both screens, a single screen, or duplicate your screens. If you find yourself visiting this panel often, you can change the Windows 10 projection mode with a keyboard shortcut. Here’s how to set it up.

Change Windows 10 projection mode

There are several different ways to create this shortcut however, we’re going to go with possibly the easiest one. Open File Explorer and navigate to the following location.

Look for an app called DisplaySwitch.exe. Right-click it and select Send to> Desktop (create shortcut). Go to the desktop and right-click the newly created shortcut to DisplaySwitch.exe, and select ‘Properties’ from the context menu.

The first thing you have to do is make a change in the Target field. The change depends on the projection mode you want to use. Add a space at the end of the path in the Target field and enter one of the following.

For Duplicate mode: /clone

For Extend mode: /extend

For PC screen only mode: /internal

For second screen only mode: /external

You can only use one switch with one shortcut so if you want to use it for different projection modes, you’ll need to create more than one shortcut.

After you change the target field, you have to set a keyboard shortcut for it. On the same General tab on the Properties window, you will see a Shortcut key field. Click inside it and tap a letter or number key. It will be executed with the Ctrl+Alt keys. The shortcut will let you change the projection mode.

The Project side panel will still open and in some cases, it might take a second or two for the mode to switch but it will work. As for the Project panel, if you’re looking for a way to do this silently/in the background without it opening, there isn’t one. This is simple and it works.

We should mention that you will have to keep the shortcut on your desktop. You cannot move it to a different drive. To keep everything tidy, create a folder on the desktop and move the shortcut(s) to it. The keyboard shortcut will still work in this scenario. As for the Ctrl and Alt keys, there’s no avoiding them. They’re added automatically.

Skip ahead in your presentation

You can use your keyboard to skip ahead several slides without the audience seeing the slides as you transition to the new slide.

Press the Tab key until you reach the Slide Navigator control (filmstrip).

Press and hold down the Option key and press the Left or Right arrow key repeatedly until you find the slide you want to skip to.

Release the Option key to move to the slide you want to skip to.

Turn on the keyboard control navigation

To use your keyboard to move between and activate controls on your Mac, turn on the keyboard control navigation.

If you're not using VoiceOver, on your computer, select System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts , and select the Use keyboard navigation to move focus between controls checkbox.

If you're using VoiceOver, the control navigation should be on by default. To check the setting, do the following:

On your computer, press Control+Option+M to access the Apple menu bar item. To open the Apple menu, press Control+Option+Spacebar.

Press Control+Option+Down arrow key until you hear "System preferences ellipses," and then press Control+Option+Spacebar.

The System Preferences window opens. The focus is in the Search text box.

Type Keyboard , and then press Return. The Keyboard dialog box opens.

Press Control+Option+Right arrow key until you hear "Shortcuts tab," and then press Control+Option+Spacebar.

Press Control+Option+Right arrow key until you hear: "Use keyboard navigation to move focus between controls." VoiceOver also announces if the option is selected or unselected. To toggle the option on or off, press Control+Option+Spacebar.

Windows can use multiple displays in several ways, extending or duplicating your primary monitor. You can even turn off your primary monitor. Here's how to change secondary display settings with a simple keyboard shortcut.

To quickly change how Windows 10 handles multiple displays, press Windows + P.

A dark-gray menu titled "Project" will pop up on the right part of your screen. (That's "project" as in projector, not "project" as in a task people work on together.)

From here, you can use the mouse or cursor keys and Enter to choose the option you'd like. Here's what the options do:

PC screen only : This mode only shows video on the primary display, even if a second one is connected.
Duplicate: This mode duplicates the video output from the primary display onto a second display, which can be ideal for presentations.
Extend: This mode extends the desktop across as many displays as you have connected. It stitches them all into one large virtual desktop, and you can move windows between them .
Second screen only: This mode only shows video on the second display, while the primary display remains blank and unused.

With the options listed above in mind, let's take a look at four common multiple display scenarios and examine how these options can help:

Scenario 1: PowerPoint Presentation

You have a laptop connected to a digital projector in a lecture hall, business meeting, or church, and you'd like to display the contents of your screen through the projector. In this case, you'd want to choose Duplicate mode from the Windows+P Project menu. Next, start up your presentation program as usual, and the audience will see exactly what you see on your computer screen.

Scenario 2: Desktop Power User

You have two or more monitors to give you more screen real estate for productivity purposes, such as software development, video editing, stock trading, or music production. In this case, you'd want to use the Extend mode from the Windows+P Project menu, so you can see as much information as possible at once. You can even move windows between monitors with a keyboard shortcut .

Scenario 3: Laptop Monitor Replacement

You have a work laptop that you'd like to use at home with a large monitor, but you don't need the laptop's built-in display. You can even configure the laptop to stay running with the lid closed, and use an external keyboard and a mouse. In this case, you'd want to pick Second screen only mode from the Windows + P Project menu.

Scenario 4: Family Movie Night

It's movie night, and you have a new video projector that you'd like to use to watch a film from your PC. In this case, you can use Duplicate or Second screen only mode from the Windows + P Project menu. If the projector has a different native resolution than your display, then "Second screen only" may work better because Windows will adapt the output perfectly to the projector instead of trying to stretch your primary display's resolution to fit.

Windows Presentation Mode

Presentation mode isn’t new (it was introduced in Vista), but it is handy. One easy way to turn presentation mode on is to type “present” into the Start menu search box and let Windows find the “Adjust settings before giving a presentation” item.

From here you can turn on presentation mode and tweak some settings.

Update : As Jim O’Neil points out, you can also use Windows+X key combo to launch the mobility center and then it’s one click to turn on presentation mode. I learn a new shortcut key everyday…

Notice the help text says “your computer stays awake”. I turned on presentation mode today just to keep my laptop awake while it sat in a corner coping a 16 GB file over WiFi.

Of course, presentation mode is useful when you have an actual presentation, too. In addition to the background, screen saver, and volume settings, Messenger will mark your status as busy and not throw toast on the screen (you’ll only get a blinky icon in the taskbar). Other applications can disable their notifications, too, but the author of the application has to write the code to be aware of notification state. Kirk Evans has an example.

What About Desktops?

Unfortunately, presentation mode is only available on laptops by default. It turns out you can do a fair amount of presenting from a desktop with Camtasia (love it) and Shared View .

What About The Command Line?

presentationsettings.exe is the name of the executable that displays the dialog shown above. If you want to toggle presentation mode from a script you can use:

presentationsettings /start

presentationsettings /stop

Another handy executable is mblctr.exe . This program launches the Windows Mobility Center with a UI to tweak brightness, power settings, presentation mode, and more.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off presentation mode for your account when giving a presentation in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. In Windows 7, Presentation Settings and presentation mode is only available in the Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions.

This guide discusses steps to enable presentation mode, customise its settings and create a desktop shortcut.

Display Switch is used to change the presentation mode of the main display of your Windows 10 PC to project on either the PC screen only, duplicate on second display, extend across all displays, or second screen only.

Windows Presentation Mode is a great way to block all the notifications during presentations. The feature is available as part of Windows Mobility center and can be accessed in settings.

Presentation Mode in Windows 10 is designed to help users of portable devices (e.g. laptops). When enabled, your computer stays awake.

You can create a shortcut to turn on or turn off windows presentation mode automatically with one shortcut using a variation on the presentation settings shortcut, without having to open up the settings dialog to either click the button or checkbox to turn it on/off.

In Edit Mode in PowerPoint, there is no method to quickly navigate to a particular slide. Only the Slide Show or Presentation mode has that option available. You can also go to the link below for the use of keyboard shortcuts to deliver PowerPoint presentations.

While presentation mode is turned on, your computer stays awake, system notifications are turned off, and your presentation settings for screen saver, volume, and desktop background are applied. At 28.5″ long and 8″ wide, it’s an agile city cruiser that can go where many boards can’t. The Dinghy Turbo is pressed with 7 plies of Canadian maple and 1 layer of fiberglass weave for added stiffness. The fiberglass works to stiffen the deck, especially torsionally, and give you super-responsive riding experience.

Ready to turn on a dime and provide the responsiveness you desire are the Titanium Polar Bear 105mm trucks for maximum agility and decreased weight. Landyachtz has also strapped some 72mm 78a Plow King wheels with Bear Spaceball bearings to really kick up the roll speed and let you steamroll over anything that you come across.

When the sun shines then its the best time to go for a push. We explored some unknown territory on our boards which presented some great sights, fun spots, new friends ( 1:54 Franny!), and some good exercise. When the sun set, we hopped on our skateboards and enjoyed the quiet streets illuminated by street lights. Also found some awesome skateparks with some real flow and butterflies!

Light as a feather and strong as an ox. The Landyachtz Dinghy is a small maple commuting board ideal for getting from A to B. The maple construction makes for strong, light board and thus easy to handle with smooth ride. It’s the ideal size for stuffing in a locker, coat check at the bar, under your arm in the grocery store or carrying on to a plane.

The board comes with a slight kicktail, just enough tail to Ollie a curb and its extremely short wheel base allow you to make the tightest possible turns and gives you heaps of traction. Riding this board everyday will make you a better rider. Certain models also come equipped with a thin layer of foam sandwiched between the board and the griptape, making for an ultra-comfortable ride.

The Dinghy comes set up with 105mm Polar Bear trucks, Fatty Hawgs and Bear Spaceball bearings.

Whenever you consult the web and ask what the best possible cruiser is, almost everybody mentions the Landyachtz Dinghy. Now Landyachtz has been in the business for 20+ years and boasts high quality, great price, amazing design, and superior functionality. I got curious and wanted to see for myself so I decided to buy a Dinghy and do an in-depth review.

The Landyachtz Dinghy is great for short distances. It’s responsive, portable, and consists of quality parts that work straight out of the box. It handles well on rough roads but it’s not for tricks, downhill, or riding skateparks. Beginners might find the Dinghy challenging.

I’m going to cover everything and even made a video that demonstrates what this board can do. I and my friend decided to take it out for a test ride and take it apart piece by piece to find out why this board has such a great reputation.

Here’s the short version of this review.

The Dinghy is very portable
Durable, it can last for a decade
Very responsive
Low effort to get up to speed
Also suitable for beginners, the learning curve might be challenging
Great components that go really well together
It just looks great
Wheels and bearings aren’t great
Heavier than a regular skateboard, lighter than a longboard
Tall people might find it too small, not suitable for heavy riders
Takes some time to break in the bearings and tweak the trucks

Not Really for Freeride Longboarding

Pumping is possible, tricks are possible but limited, rough roads, the dinghy is the perfect portable commuter, concave and shape, polar bear trucks, bear riser pads (0.25 inches), swapping the wheels, bear spaceball bearings, dinghy durability, is the landyachtz dinghy too small, loads of designs, is the landyachtz dinghy for beginners, recap: the good and the bad, price of the landyachtz dingy, about landyachtz, in conclusion, how does the landyachtz dinghy perform.

The Dinghy performs great on all sorts of surfaces . It handles everything with ease though sometimes you need to know what you’re doing.

So, is the Landyachtz Dinghy any good in terms of cruising? The simple answer… absolutely. Actually, this board was specifically designed for cruising in urban areas and cities. Thanks to the size of the wheels, this board can catch speed quickly (acceleration). Not only that, but this board is great for handling turns, thanks to the length of the board.

You’ll probably come across times when you’ll have to hop a curb while cruising around. The kicktail of the Dinghy makes this possible, and with ease. Expect the full urban transportation experience when riding this board. It’s fit for any city that you plan on commuting around and an ideal campus cruiser.

You’ll then have to quickly catch speed again. Want to hit a pedestrian? Of course not, so you’ll be making a lot of quick turns. You’ll be hopping curbs like no tomorrow. With all of this going on, the Dinghy really delivers on quality and control. You’ll be able to handle all of these situations with ease. It’s exactly what the Landyachtz Dinghy was built for.

The Landyachtz Dinghy is not specifically made for freeriding . However, you can still pull this off and have a good time doing so. The Dinghy is a shortboard, while freeriding boards are typically a bit longer. If your main goal is for freeriding, then you should probably consider another board.

But, just because there are better freeriding options, that doesn’t mean you can’t pull some nice slides on the Landyachtz Dinghy. Thanks to the concave shape of the board, sliding will be easier since you’ll be able to lock your feet. The wheels of the Dinghy won’t keep you from sliding either. This board was built for cruising in the city.

Is the Landyachtz Dinghy appropriate for pumping? It sure is! It does require experience and you need to know what you’re doing but this board can pull it off. I actually had a hard time keeping up with my friend while he was pumping. I switched to a longboard because I was pushing like a madman on my regular board to keep up.

The Polar Bear trucks come stock on the Dinghy, and though they might not be ideal for pumping, this video proves you can. You could consider other trucks, but why waste money. You’re better off assembling a cruiser or longboard yourself.

You can pull off ollies, manuals, and some old school tricks but I wouldn’t take it to a skatepark. While the Dinghy is capable of doing more technical tricks that are closer to skateboarding, I can’t really recommend it. The board wasn’t made for that and you’re better off with a regular skateboard.

Only really experienced skateboarders can pull this off. I’m going to test this soon and will add a video to show you how it performs in skateparks.

Sure, the Dinghy is capable of handling really tight turns which is great for bowls/pools, but the wheels are rather soft . Manuals, slides, and plenty of pop tricks are all possible with this board but don’t expect to be the next Rodney Mullen on this board.

As opposed to regular skateboards, the Dinghy has big soft wheels, which makes your rolling more smooth but landing tricks just feel a bit sketchy and unstable compared to a popsicle skateboard. Riding a bowl would be possible I guess, but I still recommend a different setup for that purpose.

The Dinghy is perfect for rough roads. The large Hawgs wheels have no issues with debris like rocks or twigs, you hardly even notice them . As you can see in the video it’s able to ride over small patches of grass and uneven surfaces. Coming from a skateboarding background this was a fun experience. You need to get to know the board before you do stuff like this or you’ll eat dirt.

I really wanted to try out its downhill capabilities but it was already late. Looking at the setup I don’t think this board is suitable for downhill . To quickly summarize… there are definitely better boards for downhill riding. This board is ultimately designed for cruising. It’s a small board with narrow trucks which will become unstable at a high velocity.

The Landyachtz Dinghy has a small wheelbase. This is not an advantage when going downhill, because with a smaller wheelbase comes less stability. And you need to be stable when you’re going downhill. Not only this, but you won’t be able to reach the same speeds that you would reach while riding on a downhill board. City riding doesn’t involve many huge hills, and therefore the Dinghy wasn’t specifically designed for riding downhill.

However, it’s not all negative. Thanks to the stiffness of the maple deck and Fatty Hawgs wheels, you can catch some decent speed downhill while maintaining your balance. Also, thanks to the mellow radial concave, you’ll have better foot lock-in when you’re traveling fast. Still, it’s rather risky and you should pick a different setup if this is your main goal.

This Dinghy is a compact commuter board. You can carry it around without feeling awkward and it can easily fit under your arm or just strap it on a backpack . The 24″ mini version actually fits inside a backpack!

The compact design allows you to carry it pretty much anywhere you want which is convenient when you need to use public transport. It’s slightly smaller than a regular skateboard as you can see in the image below.

The Landyachtz Dinghy was specifically made as a longboard for cruising in urban areas or cities. Thanks to the size and design of its trucks and wheelbase, the Dinghy is capable of managing sharp turns while maintaining stability.

The design of the kicktail will allow you to do tricks, such as ollies and manuals. Experienced riders can use it to slide or even do some technical tricks on a quarter pipe, though it wasn’t really designed for that.

This board isn’t t for serious downhill riding or freeriding and not for technical street skaters . It accelerates fast but doesn’t have a high top-speed as compared to downhill boards. I still think it goes fast enough to do what it’s supposed to when you push hard enough. It takes a while to slow down so this means a great cruising experience without having to push all the time.

This board is made for people who want to commute and have a fun and relaxing riding experience , and Landyachtz certainly succeeded. It has no issues with rough roads and you can even plow through a patch of grass when needed (as demonstrated in the video).

I took the Dinghy apart to see what kind of parts you get. Overall the components are of superior quality but I have some doubts about the bearings which I will address later on. Let’s see what you get:

Stiff Maple Wood Deck

Longboarders and skateboarders all over the world speak highly of the Landyachtz Dinghy deck and my test only confirms this. It’s both strong, durable and consists of high-quality 7-ply maple wood .

If we’re talking length, the Dinghy comes in sizes from 24”-28.5”. The range of widths are from 6.5”-8.5”, and you can get the wheelbase between 14”-15”. Overall, this board is fairly short with a small wheelbase.

The deck is very sturdy and doesn’t have any flex . This is something you might need to get used to if you also ride a flexy longboard. The Landyachtz Dinghy was made for fun , and the sturdiness allows you to do ollies though you can feel it wasn’t really made for that purpose.

I was a bit skeptical about the clear grip tape at first, but it’s actually pretty good and last for a very long time. I friend of mine owns an older model and the grip tape still holds after 8 years , even after abusing the board over and over again. I’ll go into durability in a moment. The clear grip will allow you to stand steady on your board and it just looks really nice.

Not all versions have clear grip tape, this is only the case with the Dinghy Summit. The grip provides enough grip to keep your feet in place but also allows you to move around for minor corrections.

It comes with wheel wells to prevent wheelbite which is great for people that love loose trucks and deep carves. I personally didn’t experience any wheels touching the board.

The combination of wheel wells and riser pads prevent any wheel blocking on sharp turns.

The deck of the Landyachtz Dinghy has a mellow radial concave . The side is slightly elevated to get more board feel when performing tricks, it makes the board respond faster. Concave isn’t for everyone, it takes away from the stability you get from a board that’s entirely flat, but this thing is designed for playful rides .

On top of that, it allows you to perform sliding movements with a bit more ease. I think the concave is perfectly balanced, I hardly notice it but I come from a skateboarding background. I’m perfectly able to move my feet around despite the brand-new grip.

The Dinghy shape is directional and features both a nose and tail that are elevated , just like a popsicle. The nose is pointier shaped than the tail. The tail allows you to ollie or hop curbs or dig in a little when you come across a patch of grass. It will help you stay balanced while you lean back.

The kicktail allows you to hop curbs while cruising and the soft wheels will make the landing pleasant. I was expecting it to bounce a lot but it really holds up well.

Another benefit of the tail is that you can do a few kickturns in parks or diagonal street objects if you’re up for it. Since this board is so stiff and the wheelbase is short, you may experience speed wobbles when you’re moving fast.

It also features a nose similar to regular skateboards though I haven’t really discovered the advantages yet. You could use it for nose manuals I guess.

As you can see in the image, the Dinghy has Polar Bear trucks, the axle width is 105mm. They seem a bit narrow and they are. It’s a compact board and the trucks need to fit right? Landyachtz did a really good job of balancing out all the parts . If you’re a longboarder the narrow trucks might feel a bit less stable than that you’re used to. Skateboarders will probably have no issues.

Bear trucks did a lot of R&D and found the perfect balance between the elastic zone permanent deformation by testing them on a destructometer. This means the truck can withstand huge impacts by bending and returning to its normal shape.

The aggressive angle of the hangers increases their strength and the axels are heat-treated and reinforced to keep them from bending.

The trucks baseplates consist of 8 holes, which you can use to adjust the wheelbase. I tried but the result was a small gap between the board and the baseplate.

Still for a board this small I find it surprisingly stable so something was done right. The trucks are highly maneuverable, which also has to do with the soft bushings.

The cup washers hold the bushings in their place and protect them from being damaged by the kingpin nut. The Pivot cups in the baseplate keep the Dinghy turning effectively at the baseplate’s intended angle.

I can’t seem to find any specifications about the hardness of the bushings but they feel medium soft. The bottom bushing is shaped like a barrel, while the top bushing is shaped like a cone. Bushings have different shapes to allow for different riding styles.

This barrel/cone combo is just great for the ability to perform maneuvers in tight corners. If you really can’t get used to them and the trucks feel too loose, it might have something to do with your weight . Consult my bushings guide in order to find out what you need.

The large bushing seats on the Dinghy help control your turning abilities (along with the pivot cup and washers) but at first, they felt incredibly loose. You don’t want to tighten the kingpin nut right away as this may lead to crushed bushings. Break them in first by riding the board or rocking it sideways by leaning.

After an hour or so tighten them just a little, if I recall correctly I only turned the nut once which was enough . This board was designed for commuting the city. This means that you will have to make a lot of quick and sharp turns and a reliable, responsive board.

The Landyachtz Dinghy has quarter-inch riser pads equipped between the trucks and the deck. These are to prevent wheel bite when you make sharp turns or land a bit hard on the sides. Heavier riders run more risk getting wheel bite compared to lightweights. The Risers give a little bit of extra clearance between the board and the wheels (the board also has wheel wells just in case).

They are rather soft which helps to absorb impact from shocks and they reduce vibration from rough roads.

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below. The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.
