My twist on the Project 365, this time tracking down the actual numbers to mark the days.

What’s allowed: numbers depicted by figures, ordinals (first, second, 13th etc), roman numerals, words. Photos can be taken at any time, but must have been taken especially for this project.

Restrictions: numbers must be “found” or “natural”, so writing a missing number on a piece of paper and photographing it is not allowed. Times on digital clocks etc may be included, but must have been taken at the actual time (so no setting the time forward or back for convenience).

Added restrictions: pictures must be taken with a 50mm lens, plus use of an extension tube for macro shots. Minimal cropping/enhancement.

St. Kilda ist ein Stadtteil von Melbourne in der City of Port Phillip. Er liegt direkt an der Port Phillip Bay und ist unter anderem berühmt für den St. Kilda Pier, eine lange, in die Bucht hinausragende Mole mit einem Pavillon.

Das Ufer der Bucht wird in St. Kilda von einem langen sandigen Strand gebildet.

Der St. Kilda Pier wurde erstmals 1853 errichtet, aber noch im selben Jahr wieder zerstört. Zwei Jahre später entstand er neu, zunächst als Holzsteg, bis er 1944 aus Stein errichtet wurde.

Seit 1974 nistet am Ende des Piers eine kleine Kolonie von Zwerkpinguinen.

Auf dem Pier wurde 1904 der St. Kilda Pier Kiosk errichet, ein Pavillon, der schnell zu einer Art Wahrzeichen St. Kildas wurde. Als er am 11. September 2003 abbrannte, wurde das von den Einwohnern als herber Verlust empfunden. In der Konsequenz baute man ihn 2005 wieder auf, wobei man ihn nach originalen Zeichnungen rekonstruierte.
