Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 23.28m beam and a 5.17m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 10,167 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
Construction started in late 2015 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Lightning'. Launched in July 2019 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2020.
Exterior Design
Boasting not one, but two helicopter landing pads, Scheherazade ensures seamless arrivals and departures for her distinguished guests, emphasizing the pinnacle of convenience and status. The pads, with D values of 18 and 15, are located on the upper and foredecks, respectively, allowing for versatile use and an unmistakable air of grandeur.

Interior Design
When a yacht is intended to be extremely private, the interior spaces tend to take precedence. Limited covered deck space at the aft end of the main and upper decks is well enclosed by glass sides for cooling, with even the sundeck fully shaded by a hardtop. The focus on the interiors highlights designer François Zuretti's hallmark style, combining timeless elegance with modern sophistication. Though few interior photographs are publicly available, they showcase Zuretti's styling at its best.
The main salon features a spacious socializing area with custom-built settees that encourages open conversation. Beneath a large illuminated ceiling feature, multiple guests can relax on soft grey sofas with a subtle white pattern, complemented by cabinetry following the curvature of the sofa's outer edge. Handwoven rugs atop decorative parquetry add an elegant touch, while antique lamps provide a soft glow, enhancing the convivial atmosphere. The owner's suite, or master cabin, is the jewel in the crown of Scheherazade's accommodation offering. For guests, the additional eight suites are no less impressive. Each cabin is designed with a unique character, furnished to the highest standards, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure guests are cocooned in comfort and luxury.
Scheherazade's commitment to excellence extends to her crew accommodation, designed to house up to 40 crew members. The power generated by these engines affords Scheherazade a considerable top speed of 20 knots, allowing for swift and efficient voyages across the open seas.
Cruising, however, is where Scheherazade truly excels. How did they do it?
The construction journey of the yacht Scheherazade, initially known as Project Lightning, spanned more than four years of meticulous planning and building. The initial phase began with the laying of her keel in Vegesack, Germany, taking place on December 7, 2015.
By July 2019, Scheherazade had reached a pivotal moment in her creation, with her launch at the Lürssen shipyard, marking the start of her final outfitting phase. This marked a significant achievement in the project, highlighting the dedication and skill involved in her development.
The final product was a remarkable vessel, distinguished by a width of 23.28 meters and an impressive internal volume of 10,167 gross tons. Following a series of successful sea trials, Scheherazade was officially completed and handed over to her owner in June 2020, representing a milestone in luxury yacht craftsmanship.
The story behind the launch name 'Scheherazade'
Scheherazade comes from an Arabic term meaning "world-freer". It is the name of the legendary Arabic queen immortalized as the narrator of all one thousand stories in the 'One Thousand and One Nights'.

The naval architecture office that made this yacht's plans and general arangement on this ship was Bruce King. The vessel had interior design work was the talent of Andrew Winch. Luxury yacht SCHEHERAZADE is a quality yacht that is able to sleep a total of 6 guests on board and has around 6 qualified crew. Construction & Designing for Luxury Yacht SCHEHERAZADEBruce King was the naval architect involved in the professional superyacht design work for SCHEHERAZADE. Also the company Bruce King skillfully worked on this project. Interior designer Andrew Winch was responsible for the overall internal ambience. the United States is the country that Hodgdon Yachts built their new build sailing yacht in. After her formal launch in 2003 in East Boothbay Me she was thereafter delivered on to the happy owner having completed sea trials and testing. Her main hull was constructed with wooden/epoxy (west). The sailing yacht superstructure is made mostly from teak. With a beam of 8.69 metres or 28.5 feet SCHEHERAZADE has fairly large internal space. She has a deep draught of 3.96m (13ft). Engines & Speeds For S/Y SCHEHERAZADE:Her propulsion units are a single screw propeller. The main engine of the yacht gives 965 horse power (or 710 kilowatts). She is equiped with 1 engines. Exclusive: 140m Lurssen superyacht 'Project Lightning' delivered and named SCHEHERAZADE

First hitting the water in 2019, Project Lightning has now been delivered as SCHEHERAZADE . According to AIS tracking data, she left Lurssen's facilities in Bremen yesterday and is currently en route to Kristiansand, on Norway's southern coast. It comes after the 10,167 GT motor yacht underwent her first round of sea trials in August 2019. Lurssen has kept all details about their fifth-largest superyacht delivery under wraps. It is being reported that the yacht's exterior styling comes from Espen Oeino, but this has not been confirmed by the yard. The yard also recently sent 87m superyacht 'Project Hawaii' out on sea trials, signalling promising activity and good progress for Northern European shipyards amid the Coronavirus crisis.  The name Scheherazade comes from an Arabic term meaning "world-freer". In literature, Scheherazade is a legendary Arabic queen immortalized as the narrator of all one thousand stories in the 'One Thousand and One Nights'. At 10,167 GT Scheherazade is believed to be the 6th largest Lurssen superyacht ever delivered. The largest Lurssen-built superyacht in terms of GT is 156m megayacht Dilbar with a GT of 15,917. At 139.29, Al Salamah has a larger volume of 12,234 GT. It is not yet known whether M/Y SCHEHERAZADE will become available for superyacht charters .
