Dove , a 2015 Beneteau Swift Trawler 50, is an owner-operator trawler with a three-stateroom, two-head layout. Dove is a veteran of the Great Loop and is listed with Curtis Stokes & Associates Inc. for $695,000.

“This Swift Trawler 50 is designed with vertical pilothouse windows that curve around, offering a panoramic view, and the narrow supporting mullions ensure clean sight lines. The view astern is limited by the cabinets in the galley to starboard, but then the joystick control is handily placed so you can stand in the pilothouse door and look aft. There is also an optional joystick in the aft cockpit and another at the flybridge helm, so you can always see where you are going in the marina,” Yachting previously reported .

Dove is powered by twin 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS600 diesel engines, but reportedly offers the performance of 1,200 hp straight-shaft diesels due to their pod-drive design. Dove has a top-end speed of 21 knots, butdial it down to 15 knots for a jog down the coastline. At a 10-knot cruise speed, range is around 640 nautical miles with a 10 percent reserve.    

Cockpit access is via a passerelle. The cockpit has a teak sole and is partly shaded by the flybridge. Guests can relax on an L-shaped transom bench-style settee with a double pedestal teak table, offset to the port side and two deck chairs. Enjoy an alfresco style dinner in the shade with the  addition of sunscreens, or set up the isinglass enclosure for protection from the elements. For those seeking a little more privacy, walk around the side deck to the foredeck and improve your tan on a sun pad. Other cockpit amenities include a starboard side transom door to the swim platform and a starboard side docking station with engine controls as well as bow thruster and joystick controls for close-quarters handling.

The flybridge has a helm on centerline with two Springfield helm seats, and all controls within arm’s reach. Just abaft the helm and to starboard is a bench-style settee adjacent to a portside L-shaped settee with a double pedestal folding wood table. A Bimini top gives the captain the option of sun or shade over the flybridge helm. Guests can relax on the aft deck, which also stows a FRIB 275 foldable tender, while grilling a few burgers on the Kenyon cooktop. Belly up to the portside wet bar with a sink and Waeco refrigerator/freezer for another beverage before heading inside to cool off. 

The lower helm is located to starboard with a side-deck access. An array of windows provide a nearly 360-degree view. Dove is outfitted with the following electronics and navigation gear:

Dove ’s salon is accessed from the cockpit via an aluminum sliding glass door. The cabinetry and woodwork glows from natural sunlight entering through the vessel’s side windows. Guests can relax on the L-shaped settee with a hi-lo table to starboard. There are cabinets and a flat-screen TV located to port. Forward and up a few stairs to starboard is the galley as well as a dinette to port in the pilothouse. Some of galley amenities include:

A 50-foot yacht caught fire on Saturday in Clearwater Harbor, Fla. (USCG)

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WPEC) — A 50-foot yacht caught fire on Saturday in Florida's Clearwater Harbor.

The U.S. Coast Guard stated that a good Samaritan brought two boaters from the yacht to the Clearwater Harbor Marina to report the fire and meet emergency medical services.

After the fire was reported, the USCG and partners began to put the fire out.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Fresh search for missing in superyacht sinking off Sicily

Specialist Italian divers on Tuesday launched a fresh search for six people, including UK tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his teenage daughter, missing since their yacht capsized off Sicily.

The British-flagged Bayesian, which had 22 people aboard including 10 crew, was anchored some 700 metres from port before dawn Monday when it was struck by a waterspout, a sort of mini tornado.

Lynch's wife Angela Bacares was among 15 people rescued, but the businessman and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah were missing, Salvo Cocina, head of the Civil Protection Agency in Sicily, told AFP.

Firefighter divers trained to work in tight spaces were flown in from Rome and Sardinia late Monday, but a first search of the wreck some 50 metres below the sea surface failed.

"Access was limited only to the bridge, with difficulty due to the presence of furniture obstructing passage", the firesfighers said on X.

The 56-metre (180-foot) long luxury vessel was moored off Porticello, east of Palermo, when violent winds and rains suddenly swept up the coast.

"It was terrible. The boat was hit by really strong wind and shortly after it went down," a British survivor named as Charlotte Golunski told ANSA news agency.

Golunski lost hold of her one-year-old daughter in the waves "for two seconds", before managing to grab her "while the sea raged", she said.

"Lots of people were screaming" in the dark, said Golunski, who managed to get on a life raft.

A waterspout is a column that descends from a cloud to form a rotating mixture of wind and water over a body of water, often during severe thunderstorms.

- Mast 'snapped' -

Just a few hours later, the seas were calm as divers recovered a body, reported to be the yacht's chef.

They also spotted a body inside the sunken vessel, a source close to the recovery operation said.

Lynch, 59, is a celebrated technology sector entrepreneur and investor, sometimes referred to as the UK's answer to Bill Gates.

Most of those aboard were British, and the passengers were guests of Lynch, celebrating his recent acquittal in a massive fraud case, according to Italian media.

Lynch was acquitted on all charges in a San Francisco court in early June after he was accused of an $11 billion fraud linked to the sale of his software firm Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard.

The Bayesian was a superyacht built by the Italian shipbuilding firm Perini Navi in 2008 which boasted a 75-metre mast, the tallest aluminium sailing mast in the world, according to the Charter World website.

A photograph posted on social media Monday by the Baia Santa Nicolicchia bar in Porticello showed the yacht all lit up, its towering mast shining in the darkness, just a few hours before the storm hit.

Karsten Borner, the captain of another yacht anchored nearby at the time of the storm, said there was a "very strong hurricane gust" and he had to battle to keep his vessel steady.

He saw the Bayesian's mast "bend and then snap", according to Italy's Corriere della Sera daily.

Italian authorities have opened a probe into the incident.
