Licence and skipper for renting a catamaran.

A licence is required to sail a catamaran in Croatia, you check the list on our page “Acceptable licences in Croatia” . However, if you and your crew do not have a boat licence you can easily add a skipper or any other crew member.

Security Deposit for renting catamaran in Croatia

Similarly to renting a car, chartering a boat requires a security deposit when renting a catamaran in Croatia. The deposit, fully refundable after check-out, covers you and your fellow passengers against accidental damage and ensures that contractual obligations are met. The security deposit varies in value depending on the model and brand of the boat. It will be returned to you after the boat has been inspected and is deemed undamaged.

Insurance of a catamaran and payment insurance

We have partnered with WIENER INSURANCE GROUP to additionally insured all your payments send to us with Wire transfer and also credit card payments are fully insured when renting a catamaran in Croatia. By Croatia law, all catamarans and passangers are fully insured for the time of the charter.

Cancellation policy for chartering a catamaran in Croatia

Europe Yachts Charter Group offers a full refund for cancellations made within 24 hours of booking for a catamaran charter in Croatia. For cancellations made up to 7 days after the booking date, a 12% handling fee is retained. For bookings cancelled up to 30 days before the check-in date, a 50% refund of the total amount is applied. Cancellations made within less than 30 days of the check-in date are not eligible for refund. Please be aware that the conditions of our charter partners’ own policies apply. If you have further questions regarding our cancellation policy, please contact our customer support team.

What happens when I request an offer for renting a catamaran?

What is a Transit Log?

A Transit Log is a variable payment when renting a catamaran in Croatia, which can include the following: bed linen, cleaning, on-board Internet connection, tourist tax and base marina fees. The details of the Transit Log differ depending on the boat, location and charter partner. Once you choose your boat, our team will be able to outline the specifics of the Transit Log associated with your booking.

Are there any other costs I should be aware of when renting a catamaran in Croatia?

There are marina fees and fuel costs which vary depending on the type, duration and location of your catamaran sailing holiday in Croatia. Marina fees need to be paid at each marina you choose to dock overnight – the amount varies but you may be able to find this information in advance by contacting the marinas directly. Fuel costs depend on whether you’re you like to sail or go with the motor.

It also depends on the weather. It is safer to be in marina if there is a storm. Food: 450 €+ (provisions for boat + skipper) Please note that this does not include dinners in restaurants. Meals in restaurants are 15 € for pizza and soft drinks, while full meals are 25-35 € per person.

Frequently asked questions, how do i book a vessel.

You can consult our Contact Center about the vessel choice – they will prepare an offer for you, based upon your request. Should you prefer to choose a vessel on your own, you can do so by using our Online Database system.

After having chosen a vessel, we can reserve it for you for several days, with no obligation, giving you time to organize your travel plans (buying plane tickets, etc.) and arrange everything with your crew members.

The vessel is considered booked by you as soon as you pay the first installment, i.e. 30, 40 or 50% of the total price, or the whole charter fee for bookings within 60 days before the departure. You can either pay by credit card or by bank transfer.

What qualifications do I need for a bareboat charter?

In the event of a bareboat charter (without our skipper) the client skipper must be in possession of a certificate of competence in order to charter a boat. It is also a legal requirement for one member of the crew to be qualified for the operation with the VHF station (possessing the VHF license).

Are skipper’s services included in price?

Skipper’s services are paid separately from the charter fee. The guests are obliged to pay them (also those of a hostess or a cook) as well as food and drink for the skipper or the other crew members.

Mega-yachts and sailing boats exceeding certain length are chartered exclusively with the crew (provided by the vessel owner), in which case the crew expenses are included in the charter fee.

Where does the skipper sleep?

In most cases the skipper sleeps in the salon area or in the small cabin in front of the hull. However, it is strongly recommended to charter a bigger boat and provide the skipper with his own cabin. Since he is in charge of the day-to-day running of the yacht, as well as the security of people on board, he should be well-rested – apart from that, the guests will have more comfort and a free salon area to hang out.

Every vessel is registered for a certain number of people (the law does not allow this number to be exceeded) – if this number does not include a berth in the salon area, the skipper is required to have his own cabin.

Besides the charter fee, are there additional costs I should budget for?

What is the cancellation policy?

If the Client wants to change the charter terms or cancel the reservation, this must be done in writing (via e-mail, fax, or post.)

If the Client cancels the reservation in writing, Charteree reserves the right to apply the following cancellation charges:

• In the event of a cancellation made up to 45 days prior to the start date of the charter period Charteree charges 50% of the Charter Fee.
• In the event of a cancellation made within 45 days prior to the start of the charter period Charteree charges 100% of the Charter Fee.
• In the event of a cancellation made after check-in Charteree retains 100% of the Charter Fee and charges to the Client all expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation.

If the Client is able to find a new rental client for the same period of the charter and under the same terms and conditions, Charteree reserves the right to charge for any administrative and manipulative costs incurred by the change.

In the event that the Client has to cancel the reservation due to objective reasons (death in the family or serious illness), Charteree is not liable to return the paid amount, but if the Client rents the vessel in the same period Charteree will organize charter on other adequate vessel for the next appropriate date or for the next season, i.e. Charteree will issue a credit note that can be used in the agreed period.

The credit note is calculated taking into account the difference between the cancelled reservation and the reservation later confirmed for the same vessel and in the same period. Charteree is not liable for damages in the event of reservation changes or cancellation due to situations such as war, riot, strikes, terrorist activity, exceptional sanitary conditions, natural disasters, interventions of local authorities, etc.)

About the vessel.

The Saba 50 delivers it's exceptional living and relaxation spaces and will surely not disapoint you. It was designed to make the most of your holiday, to share lasting moments, to explore the sea world in the most exquisite way.

With your first step to the boat, you will certainly be impressed with the spacious outdoor seating at the stern, as well as comfortable sun loungers and a table at the bow of the boat, from where you will have a wonderful view of the sea, whether you are anchoring or sailing. For an even better view, you can also use the seating and sun loungers on the roof of the salon, from where your captain leads the ship.

In the middle of the boat you will find a very spacious and fully equipped kitchen with everything you can think of - there is also a refrigerator, freezer, ice maker, coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave. You are guaranteed to feel like home in this kitchen. Thanks to the sliding door, it can also be easily connected with an outdoor seating area.

Below deck you will find 6 spacious cabins with double beds. Each cabin has it's own bathroom with electric toilet, plenty of storage space and a small dressing room. You will also find a work desk in the two largest cabins.

Access to the water is easily accessible by steps at the stern of the boat. We can guarantee you that you will not miss anything on this boat for a well deserved holiday. Now all you have to do is to choose a destination and time and you are ready to sail!

Cumberland Magic through the Whitsunday Islands a truly memorable experience. First night at Nara Inlet was spent in seclusion with fresh Oysters off the rocks. Come morning we snorkelled among the coral forms, then off to Mays Bay for a swim. After to Butterfly Bay, It�s amazing with the cockpit surrounded by butterflys on a safe anchorage. Next day up anchor to Blue Pearl Bay for a swim among a school of large fish then across the top of the Whitsunday Island Chain and down to Hook Island trawling for Mackeral. We moored in Cateran Bay.Snorkeling in the morning was incredible, an easy distance from Magic. Tongue Bay,where everyone enjoyed a walk on the island and the view over Whitehaven Bay. Fresh mackeral at hand we anchored for the night, and enjoyed another fish BBQ aboard. Chalkies beach the next morning was an absolute delight. Through the Pass across the top of Hamilton Island with the first signs of civilization again. After a quick radio ashore, we were escorted to our Berth for the night. Island buzzing, the jet airliners landing across the face of the Marina, a truly international feel. Cid Harbour, anchored easily and quickly a family of turtles welcomed us. A tender over to the small island beside Cid Island for some snorkelling and a late afternoon walk on Dugong Beach. Off to Day Dream Island and on to anchor. A couple of whales 50m astern of Cumberland Magic, having never been this close we were enchanted, they just hung out and swam enjoying the sun much the same as we were.The Girls were keen to catch up with Greg Evans from A Perfect Match! Back in Abel Point Marina, a Cumberland escort was available to guide us in and the cruise had come to an end all too soon. With this being our first bare boat charter, it definitely wont be our last with Cumberland. The boat was immaculate, reliable. We feel we have only scratched the surface of what we could see and are keen to return.

Saša Horvat, born 1977 in Zagreb, Croatia. Sailing was his first love from childhood, started with windsurfing and later continued on sport catamarans. After school he worked in a surf shop as shop manager and windsurf instructor. His next step was sailing with friends in Croatia on bareboat cruisers, where he fell in love to charter sailing. Sasha now is working as a professional skipper for the charter industry on crewed and bareboat sailing yachts, catamarans and motorboats. Out of season he is doing transfers of boats for charters or for private owners, regattas, sailing schools and skipper academy. He speaks fluent English. He is certified Yachtmaster, D2 Basic safety and VHF STCW license. His top priority is safety of the crew during the charter. With excellent knowledge of the Adriatic coast and its islands, navigation, knowledge of wind and sails, he can provide a safe and relaxing extraordinary journey for all type of clients.

WHAT MAKES HIM HAPPY BESIDE WORK: He has passion for Croatian gastronomy and focus on wine tasting on island Hvar, Brac and Pelješac.

Stephanie Curavić was born in 1990 in Melbourne, Australia. She moved to Croatia where she graduated Pedagogy Faculty. During the years she grew distinctive enthusiasm for cooking in general, especially Mediterranean cuisine. She is fluent in English, has basic knowledge of Spanish. After abundance of experience working as a hostess on all types of boats (sailing and motor boats, catamarans). She is detailed-oriented, attentive at all times with a willing and helpful manner. Always approachable and cheerful, Stephanie aims to elevate the guest’s experience.

All my life I have been struggling with allergies. For preventive reasons of my health issues, I decided to spend my holiday on board of luxurious catamaran in Adriatic. Salty seawater together with clean air and great red wine positively influenced my health. After one week, I felt ten years younger. As I could see, such a vacation I should have at least two times per year.
