Kokomo is a 60ft Cooper Pilothouse cutter-rigged bluewater pilothouse sloop, built by Cooper of Coquitlam in Vancouver BC. The shipyard has a strong history producing superb yachts with outstanding craftsmanship, all designed to confidently tackle the northwest Pacific’s unforgiving conditions.

Designed by Stan Huntingford, Kokomo is one of only four of these models constructed, due to their high initial build costs. With beautifully crafted teak interiors and highly spec’d equipment and fixtures, they are one of the world’s best 60 footers and designed to be driven by one person with push-button trimming etc.

Kokomo boasts incredible range her main engine alone, and also features two generators, hydraulic bow thruster, and a get-home system; she really is impressively equipped to take you anywhere.

With four passionate owners, the current seafarer has recently completed a major refit over the last few years, including mast removal, a full Awlgrip repaint, new teak decks in 2015 and full electronics upgrade in 2016. More recently, she has had new rigging fitted in 2019 along with new batteries in 2020. In 2021, the vessel spent seven months on the hard having completed a very extensive and thorough osmosis treatment. A detailed maintenance record has been kept for the last 10 years, which covers overhaul of almost every item on board and is available to new owners. Further, Perkins completed the 6000-hour service in Singapore.

Available to view in Langkawi, Malaysia or in Phuket if travel is an issue, Kokomo is ready for her next ocean-voyaging couple or family.

Yvette Cooper Scrambles To Explain Why Another Minister Thinks Taxpayers Should Pay For The PM's Clothes

Yvette Cooper struggled to explain why her colleague David Lammy suggested the prime minister’s wife should get her clothes paid for by the taxpayer on Sunday.

PM Keir Starmer is under pressure after he reportedly breached parliamentary rules and failed to initially declare that Labour donor Lord Alli bought clothes for his wife Victoria.

As he tried to defend his boss, foreign secretary Lammy told the BBC over the weekend that other countries provide their political leaders – and their partners – a publicly-funded budget for clothes.

He said: “The truth is that successive prime ministers, unless you’re a billionaire like the last one, do rely on political donations so they can look their best.”

But his colleague Cooper struggled to explain why Lammy thought this was an appropriate response when questioned on Sky News the following day.

Presenter Kay Burley asked the home secretary: “Do you think the taxpayer should pay for Lady Starmer’s clothes?”

“No of course not, that’s not the way we do things in this country,” Cooper replied. “I think this is a political donation and I don’t know the details of the donation, but donations are always declared in the proper way.”

Burley asked: “The foreign secretary misspoke when he said that?”

Cooper, looking confused, stammered: “I think he was talking about arrangements in the US, I don’t think there’s any difference.”

The Sky News presenter replied: “I think he was suggesting it should be considered for the UK taxpayer to potentially pay for her clothing, as is similarly done in the US.”

Cooper paused, before saying: “Well no, we are a very different country to the US, and I think probably, you know, that’s something we all recognise – huge differences between different countries and the arrangements we have.

“I think it’s probably a very good thing I think sometimes that our politics is very different from the US politics!”

Millionaire businessman Lord Alli previously donated a total of £500,000 to Labour and £16,200-worth of “work clothing” to Starmer.

The government was then embroiled in a sleaze row when it was revealed Alli briefly enjoyed a No.10 security pass after Labour won the election – that’s a privilege normally restricted to political advisers, civil servants the immediate families of the PM and the chancellor.

Pledging to end the “culture of presenteeism” in Britain’s workplaces and criticising the Tory “war” on working from home as “bizarre”, Mr Reynolds told The Times that a default right of flexible working will make staff more productive and loyal.

Denying reports of a rift with Angela Rayner , the Labour frontbencher said he was working “very closely” with the deputy PM and said that the pledge to introduce legislation on workers’ rights within 100 days did not mean reform would be rushed through without negotiating details with employers.

It came as Sky News reported that Sir Keir Starmer will not be investigated by the parliamentary commissioner for standards over the late declaration of clothes given to his wife Victoria by Labour donor Lord Alli, after Tory demands for a probe into gifts by the former Asos chair.

Director of Amnesty International’s European Institutions Office Eve Geddie said: “It’s shameful that despite all the criticism and concerns raised by human rights bodies, the Italian government has decided to go ahead with this agreement. Not only is the plan incredibly harmful, it is also unlawful.

“People in distress at sea will be subjected to long and unnecessary journeys, in patent violation of Italy’s obligation to ensure the swift disembarkation of rescued persons in a ‘place of safety’. On reaching dry land, they will face automatic, arbitrary and potentially prolonged detention in Albania.

“While under the terms of this agreement, people would remain under Italian jurisdiction, it is likely that their right to seek asylum and have their claims fairly assessed will be severely curtailed.

“These centres represent the latest attempt by an EU country to circumvent their obligations under EU and international law by ‘externalising’ or shifting the processing of people’s protection claims outside of their territory.

“The new EU leadership must firmly reject attempts to offshore the processing of asylum claims. These plans have had a disastrous impact on both human lives and the cost of asylum systems when they have been tried before.

“This cruel experiment is a stain on the Italian government. It will practically only affect racialized people on the move and it distracts and detracts from policies that could truly strengthen asylum systems, support people in need of safety, and benefit the communities that welcome them.”

Italian premier Ms Meloni has brushed aside humanitarian concerns about her country’s deal with Albania as “completely groundless”.

Liberal Democrat deputy leader Daisy Cooper has said she was once told she had “just four days left to live”, as she shared her experiences of Crohn’s disease.

Addressing the party’s autumn conference in Brighton on Monday, Ms Cooper told delegates that “12 years ago” she was “rushed to hospital” and then later “sobbed” as she faced the prospect of having to give up work.

“A few weeks in, I was told that without major surgery I had just four days left to live. My weight had dropped to around seven stone, my eyesight was failing,” she told delegates.

Recalling her experiences, she said that her arms had gone “black and blue” and she was “fed only through a feeding tube”.

“But it wasn’t the prospect of major surgery that upset me, it was what was said next,” Ms Cooper said.

Sir Keir Starmer has hailed Italy's "dramatic" reduction in migrants risking their lives crossing the Mediterranean to reach the southern European country.

The Prime Minister stressed that the fall of around two thirds in the number of migrants embarking on this sea route looks to be the result of "upstream" work.

Sir Keir, who had flown to Rome for talks with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, also did not rule out an Italian-style asylum claims’ processing system in Albania.

Asked how the UK could replicate Italy's Albania deal, the Prime Minister told broadcasters in Rome: "I'm here to have discussions, here at this co-ordination centre and with the Prime Minister (Giorgia Meloni) about how we deal with unlawful migration.

"Here there's been some quite dramatic reductions. So I want to understand how that came about.

"It looks as though that's down to the upstream work that's been done in some of the countries where people are coming from."

He added: "I've long believed, by the way, that prevention and stopping people traveling in the first place is one of the best ways to deal with this particular issue.

"So I am very interested to know how that upstream work went, looking, of course, at other schemes, looking forward to my bilateral with the prime minister this afternoon, but we've already got a shared intent to work together on this trade, this vile trade, of pushing people across borders."

Earlier, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper had confirmed that Britain is looking at an Italian-style asylum claims’ processing scheme in Albania, as more migrants are dying in desperate attempts to cross the Channel to reach Britain.

The Home Secretary stressed that the focus of the Government’s actions was currently on smashing the criminal gangs behind the human trafficking trade.

But she also confirmed that the UK and Italy are seeking to co-operate on multiple fronts.

Ms Cooper told BBC Breakfast: "There are four different things that the Italians are doing that we're interested in.

"The first is the work that they are doing around organised immigration crime. That's the work that we are substantially gearing up, where we will be doing a huge technology upgrade as well, and where we want to work with Italy, with Germany, with other European countries, with France as well.

"The second thing they're doing is they're working with other countries upstream to prevent people leaving North Africa in the first place...working with Tunisia, we think we should be part of those international co-operations as well.

"The third thing they're doing is major returns. So they're speeding up returns for those who don't have a right to be there. We've been doing that through the summer as well, so we've had a substantial increase in returns for people who don't have a right to be in the UK, because the rules need to be respected and enforced.

"The fourth thing they're doing is the Albania programme, but that hasn't started yet, so we'll need to see what that does. It's very different from the Rwanda partnership that the UK government had, and we'll have to see how that plays out."

But Ms Cooper stressed that Italy's planned third-country processing deal with Albania is "very, very different" from the previous UK government's Rwanda scheme.

The Home Secretary told Good Morning Britain: "It's very, very different. So the arrangement that they have in place - and look, it's not working yet, so we don't know how it will play out - but it is a very, very different approach.

"First of all, this is Italian processing taking place in Albania. It has UNHCR oversight, so it is being monitored to make sure that it meets international standards.

"It's being done in cooperation between those two countries, and what they're actually doing is looking at those people who arrive in Italy, who have come from predominantly safe countries, and they're using it as a way to try and fast-track decisions and returns.

"Now we think there is another way we can fast-track decisions and returns for people who arrive from predominantly safer countries.

"We should be fast-tracking those cases. We should be making sure you don't have people spending years in the asylum system, which ends up being hugely costly, hugely chaotic. That's the system we've inherited."

Ms Cooper also told how former Met Police chief Martin Hewitt is to play a key role leading Britain’s fight to make migration crime gangs behind cross- Channel crossings “pay the price” for the impact of their human trafficking trade, including rising fatalities.

Ahead of the talks with Ms Meloni, Sir Keir said Mr Hewitt, a former chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council and ex-Assistant Commissioner at Scotland Yard, would run a new Border Security Command which would be empowered to lead joint investigations with other countries.

Mr Hewitt also oversaw the UK’s enforcement of lockdown laws during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on Monday morning, Ms Cooper said: “Martin Hewitt who was a former police chief and former army officer has huge experience around law enforcement.

“He will lead the new Border Security Command which is bringing together Border Force , the National Crime Agency, police forces, intelligence and security agencies, but also crucially working with European law enforcement in order to go after the criminal gangs and to make sure that they pay the price.

“They are getting away with this at the moment.

“It’s deeply damaging.”

On Sunday, French authorities said eight people had died trying to cross the Channel after their boat got into difficulty, bringing the death toll in attempted crossings to 46 since the start of the year.
