Great time snorkeling with this crew! We saw a lot of fish and many sea turtles. My daughter loved jumping off the side of the boat over and over! Drinks were great too!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the 2:30 Sunset Cruise. The guys sailing us out were super nice. It was beautiful on the water, and we even saw a turtle in the water! The Mai Tai drinks they had on board, were actually the best we had the entire trip. I would defiantly recommend this experience! P.S. you could get soaked...we did :-)

So much fun! One of the more affordable sunset cruises and 100% worth it. The workers on the boat were friendly and upbeat and did a great job of cultivating a fun vibe. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

This was a great experience. We went on the morning snorkel tour and had a fantastic time! The boat comes right to the beach at Waikiki. The people were fantastic!!! We saw 3 turtles and lots of fish at turtle canyon.

We did the Diamond Head Tour and had a great time. This is a 90 min tour with sails up. Captain and crew were great. Great views of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the boat. The Manu Kai is small enough that you really felt the waves and were really sailing. Crew were manning the sails but still had time to make sure you had mai tais. Overall a great time and highly recommend.

Well worth the money. Great crew, drinks included. Plenty of room on the boat. Friendly atmosphere. Bring a camera or iPhone, maybe a sweatshirt for after sunset. Expect to have a great time for $40.00. Definitely would go again.

We chose Manu Kai for the mid morning turtle snorkel at Turtle Canyon and had a terrific time. We saw plenty of turtles and fish and enjoyed the professional but casual, laid back vibe of the crew. Jess in particular was outstanding (with a background in marine biology). Post our snorkel we headed towards Diamond Head for a great view of the beach and were lucky enough to see dolphins at play. A great morning trip.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Guests receive a full refund with a 24-hour notice of cancellation. Full refunds are also issued in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

During the slower seasons and typically for the morning sails, tour cancellations can occur due to not meeting a minimum requirement of 6 booked guests. In these rare situations, guests are always given the option to rebook or refund. If you are concerned about your tour, please call with any questions.

Guests wishing to rebook or reschedule must give 24 hours’ notice. Contact us by phone directly to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows and guests cancelling within 24 hours of departure will be charged full price.

CHECK-IN POLICY

Check-in time for all tours is strictly 30 minutes prior to departure, with no exceptions. Failure to check in on time will result in loss of reservation.

We require payment for all reservations. Otherwise all trips are first come, first served. We accept cash or credit card as payment methods.

Frequently asked questions, when should i arrive for the tour.

To make sure you catch your tour without a hitch, we suggest arriving 45 minutes ahead of your scheduled time. Being prompt helps us kick things off on time for everyone’s enjoyment. Unfortunately, if you’re late and miss the boat, we won’t be able to offer refunds.  Your understanding is greatly appreciated!

Where is the pickup location?

Our boat launch spot is right at 1 Holomoana Street. If you know the Prince Waikiki Hotel, you’re close! Our slip is just to the West (Ewa) of their valet area. Keep an eye out for our big Pink Sails banner waving in the breeze—it’ll guide you straight to us. And for a detailed map and directions, hop over to our website!

Where do I park?

We’ve got some convenient parking options for you at the harbor! Right next to our boat slips, there are paid parking stalls charging just $1 per hour. If those are full, the Waikiki Prince Hotel has valet parking nearby. Plus, you can park at Chart House or Red Lobster, both a quick 3-minute walk from the dock.

But heads up, during busy times like weekends or holidays, snagging a spot can be a challenge. It’s smart to plan ahead or consider hopping in a taxi or using a rideshare service. Oh, and a friendly reminder: please avoid parking in the yellow spaces to steer clear of any towing troubles. We want your visit to be smooth sailing!

What should we bring?

Don’t forget your sunblock and hat if the sun’s not your best friend. For our snorkeling or swimming tours, a towel will come in handy. Oh, and grab your camera and a card for drinks, souvenirs, and tips – it’s gonna be a blast!

I would highly recommend doing this private charter during your stay in Honolulu! Sam and Nick were an awesome team and made this experience one we will remember! Not only did we see sea turtles but we saw several pods of dolphins right under our feet. This is much more relaxing than the lager group tour and they were able to accommodate for pregnant women and guest prone to sea sickness! If you are on the fence, just book it! Hands down the best catamaran experience my family and I have ever had! Captain Sam and Deckhand Nick were amazing!! The cost is a steal! This was in fact amazing. My family of 5 had a private catamaran with 2 of the nicest guys. Captain was super friendly and then our snorkeling guide was awesome. Took us to see spinner dolphins, turtles, fish and even some eels. They really went above and beyond and made us feel so welcome. All gear was provided, the goggles and fins. It is bring your own food or drinks (they do have soda and water). After snorkeling they took us over by Diamond Head. One of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend this.

What to expect on a snorkel trip in Hawaii

WHERE TO GO

We offer snorkeling at both the South and North shores of Oahu. That way you   know there is always a snorkeling option near you. Try one spot and then if you   love it, join us for a new experience on the other side of the island!

Whether you want to explore the ocean outside of Waikiki or dive off the   beautiful North Shore, you will have the chance to swim with sea turtles, reef   fish, and other surprise wildlife!

After booking you will receive a confirmation email with details on exactly where to meet us and what to bring for your adventure.  

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE BOAT & OUR CREW

​Our top priority is to provide our guests with a unique and exclusive experience. We want you to be able to ditch the large crowded boats that take up to 30+ people snorkeling together. Instead, our boat only takes a maximum of six people. That way we can give each person individual attention, leading to a safer and more engaging experience.

Each of our crew members is an experienced waterman/woman and is experienced and knowledgeable about Hawaii’s ocean life. We will be there to answer your questions about the animals, conditions, and snorkeling.

We offer trips on both our 21ft Boston Whaler and our more luxurious 42ft Lagoon Catamaran. Both boats are perfect for enjoying the waters along Oahu’s scenic coast.  

​Once on board, the crew will provide each person with a mask, fins, and snorkel. All you need to bring is a swimsuit and be ready for fun!

If you are wanting to document your adventure, ask us about adding on a photo  or video package for your trip!

​How do you snorkel? Is snorkeling scary for non-swimmers? How long do you need to hold your breath for snorkeling? What will I see when snorkeling in Hawaii? What’s the point of snorkeling? Don’t Worry! Our crew is there to help answer your questions and curb any fears you might have before getting in the water.

The team can also go over more advanced snorkeling techniques for those who have had ample practice snorkeling prior to the trip.

On our way to the snorkel site, the crew will also go over the safety features of the vessel and emergency procedures. We want you to have the safest and most enjoyable time aboard.

​As we drive out to the best snorkeling sites in Oahu you can enjoy the epic views! Oahu is one of the most beautiful islands in Hawaii. The coastline boats have beautiful white sand beaches, luxurious oceanfront hotels, and luscious green mountains.

​Once we arrive at our site the crew will help you get ready to hop in the water. Our trips are guided snorkel tours. There will be a diver in the water with you to ensure your safety but also point out any interesting wildlife.

Upon entering the water, you will be greeted by fish, turtles, and other underwater creatures. Our crew will explain the best ways to interact with the wildlife we are viewing so that you can have the best snorkel possible.  

WHAT YOU WILL SEE SNORKELING IN HAWAII ​ Of course, we can never guarantee exactly what might swim by on your snorkel but we have chosen the best dive sites on Oahu to give you the highest chances of seeing everything Hawaii has to offer!

​Hawaii hosts an abundance of reef fish species. Many of these are only found in Hawaii and nowhere else in the world!

​Common species we see include:

​Black Triggerfish – all-black fish with an intricate green pattern on the face.

Whitebar Surgeonfish – Shallow reef fish sort of brown in color with a white stripe of bar running vertically just behind the head.

Racoon Butterflyfish – Yellow and Black fish with a black mask across its face.

Bluespine Unicornfish – All blueish, green with a small horn on the front of its head.

Hawaiian Chub – All grey fish are often found swimming at the surface.

State Fish (Humuhumunukunukuapuaha) – A triggerfish often living just above the reef. Mostly orange with a yellow “V” along its back.

​Green Sea Turtles are some of the most exciting animals we might encounter on our snorkels! The turtles are often curious of people and hang out along the reef where they eat seaweed and get their shells cleaned by small reef fish.

While they often spend time along the bottom, every few minutes they have to come up for air where we can get a closer look!

HOW CLOSE CAN I GET?  We always want to give the wildlife their space and view them from a respectful distance. Giving the turtles a few feet of space often lets them feel more comfortable and they will likely spend more time with us. If they come up closer to us, we will stay still and watch them until they are ready to swim away. We never chase or harass wildlife!

DO NOT TOUCH THE TURTLES   Not only is it illegal, but touching the turtles can disturb their behavior and cause them to be fearful of humans in the future.   If you cannot follow the rules we reserve the right to remove you from the water.

• Captain Shane - Shane has lived on and off in Japan, California, and Hawaii for most of his life. He is a Coast Guard-certified captain with four years of boating experience. His interest in Hawaiian history led him to obtain a degree in that field at UH Hilo. His passions include traveling, animals, and anything ocean-related, especially free-diving and an unhealthy obsession with Hawaiian endemic shells. He is fluent in Japanese.
• Captain Kalani - Born and raised in Ma'ili, on the west side of Oahu, Kalani has always been interested in water sports such as body surfing and free diving. His passions led him to work as a crew with boat charters, and he eventually obtained his Captain's license with five years of experience. When he isn't working, Kalani keeps busy with his new daughter, his fur baby, and his wife.

Amazing views and service!! Would definitely do it again

We booked a 2 hour sail for a bachelorette. When we got there, they mentioned the 2 hour option didn't allow swimming (the 3 hour did!). However, when they saw that we had come prepared with floaties, they accommodated u ... s to ensure we could go swimming and use what we brought for our 2 hour sail! We never felt pressured to extend our sailing time at all - in the end, we ended up extending it to 3 hours anyways with no regrets at all. The crew took such great care of us - they made sure our cups were never empty and took all the group photos we wanted, even from multiple angles unprompted! Some of us went diving with the crew members, and they happily pointed out all the sea creatures so we wouldn't miss it! They even took beautiful drone photos and sent them our way afterwards. It became one of the highlights of our trip, and we would absolutely book again.

They have this operation dialed in. It is short but very sweet. The open bar and fun, yet competent, staff makes for good times on the water. The views are great, they have good music going, and it is fun meeting other folks on board. Definitely check it out!

This was a great experience. This sail is very calm and relaxing and a completely different experience from the trade wind sails, where you expect to get tossed around and get wet. This is the best deal in Waikiki. Was there for a week and went on this cruise three times. ~$30 for one hour sail with open bar. So, you can sit in a hotel bar and nurse one drink or be on the ocean enjoying amazing views, listen to lively music and chug down multiple drinks. No brainer. Shout out to Dustin for the amazing sailing experience.

This was a total blast! The guys running the boat were friendly and entertaining. The sites were phenomenal. The sea life is gorgeous. And the drinks were very good. I booked a second trip, can’t wait to sale again!

CANCELLATION POLICY

Guests will receive a full refund only with a minimum 24-hour notice of cancellation. Full refunds are also issued in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

During the slower seasons and typically the morning sails, tour cancellations can occur due to a minimum requirement of 6 booked guests. In these rare situations, guests are always given the option to rebook or refund. If you are concerned about your tour, please call with any questions.

Guests wishing to rebook or reschedule must give 24 hours notice. Contact us by phone directly to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows and guests canceling within 24 hours of departure will be charged full price .*Groups of 20 or larger are required to give 72-hour notice to cancel or modify bookings.

Overall best snorkeling trip I have been on, great for anyone, beginners and couples especially. Boat trip was enjoyable and the island/snork. spot was much less busy than expected. John was awesome and on point, as well as being very knowledgeable and nice.

My wife and I took a trip with Captain John this past Saturday and had a wonderful time. The ruins of the gun batteries were so cool to scuba dive around, the fish were out in force, and the water temperature was perfect. Captain John was not only entertaining but also very knowledgeable about the surrounding shores and their histories.

We had a great time and getting to see the tortoises and dolphins were some of the highlights of our trip. We would highly recommend you check them out if you are thinking about snorkeling in this area!

Calypso Cat is a 45′ Corinthian Catamaran. She is United States Coast Guard certified. She has all of the latest electronics and U.S.C.G safety equipment. The Calypso Cat is powered by twin 4 stroke outboard engines that are eco-friendly! The Calypso Cat holds 49 passengers comfortably. Calypso Cat is 80% shaded. She is complete with a clean bathroom, fresh water shower, coolers with plenty of ice, and island music with a full music entertainment system and speakers throughout the length of the boat for your listening pleasure.
