I don't really know how to review this place. My parents have been members for a decade, I sailed here personally myself for ages. As a club it's great overall, but I want to talk about the food. I know, it's not open to the general public, meaning not just anyone can eat here (members only!!!) making my review sort of redundant. To respond to the obvious implication, yes I do feel pretentious right now, and no, I don't like it. When I actually end up going to dinner with my parents this is usually the place. The menu is small. The quality of the food isn't bad, but it won't blow you away. The burger isn't bad. The pork porterhouse isn't bad. I actually really like the meatloaf. Service is surprisingly bad sometimes, with an empty dining room. It bothers me, and causes me to lose a little more sanity each visit. Worth going to if.... you're a member.. I guess

Don't bother coming here if you want to relax. The members are so uptight that if you even remove your flip flops in the bar they will threaten to call the police. This sounds like an exaggeration but it's the actual truth. The members that complained were wearing sandals themselves and felt the need to eat their food with their hands. We hand been sitting quietly for a couple of hours and had 1 drink each. The food was ok and the wait staff were friendly and reasonable.

The couple of reviews here really don't do this place justice. It's probably the best Yacht Club / Marina / Social Club on Lake Ontario hands down. Don't believe me or the couple of reviewers here. Check out the 150+ reviews on FB, search @visitpcyc and check out the events happening all year round at this great club.

Sit back and savor the finest culinary gems that the city has to offer as you browse through the latest happenings in high society à la Lady Whistledown.

How did the afternoon tea tradition originate?

Glad you asked—the roots of this great British tradition can be traced back to the seventh Duchess of Bedford in 1840. When the Duchess found herself craving some sweet treats around mid-afternoon, a new custom was born. Soon, friends started dropping in and the spread was elevated to luxurious heights. Today, the afternoon tea tradition serves as a worthy reminder to sit back and sip on a relaxing cup as you watch the world go by.

What is the general afternoon tea timing in Dubai?

While the concept of afternoon tea traditionally referred to light bites served around mid-afternoon, it has since acquired a personality of its own. Today, it is not uncommon to find afternoon tea in Dubai ranging from 12 noon itself with a host of main courses followed by finger sandwiches and light nibbles.

Burj Al Arab, meanwhile, has played host to Gigi Hadid, Justin Bieber and more.

Why is Korean food famous?

A closer look at traditional Korean food is a true education on the abundance mindset. As  K-dramas  might have already taught you, even a humble breakfast can have the table laden with side dishes. The philosophy? You shouldn’t taste the same flavor more than once in a meal. It comes as little surprise then that Korean food is also associated with  mukbang  culture or the practice of having copious amounts of food in one serving.

What is traditional Korean food?

With a focus on flavors,  Koreans  prioritize getting the maximum depth of flavor out of every dish.  Kimchi  serves as one of the frontrunners of the cuisine—a fermented cabbage dish that signifies the foresight of traditional Koreans through the long winters in the region. Beyond kimchi, what are the top 5 Korean dishes to know about? As you embark on this culinary journey, you will want to keep an eye out for classic dishes from the region:  bibimbap  (rice with veggies), bulgogi (beef barbecue), tteokbokki (red rice cakes), jiggae (Korean stew) and Korean fried chicken.

What is the most common meal in Korea?

The traditional Korean meal seeks inspiration from the feasts and lavish spreads that royalty used to enjoy back in the day. As a consequence, you’ll find a minimum of three main dishes at any meal supplemented with sticky rice and, of course, kimchi.

What is a Korean hot pot?

As you immerse yourself in the world of Korean cuisine, you’ll find hot pots popping up on every possible menu. Modelled as a communal experience, a typical Korean hot pot consists of a hot broth that is left simmering on the table. Diners can then choose to add in a wide array of meats, proteins and veggies to the broth. Split a pair of chopsticks, dip in a sauce of your choice—there will always be a minimum of four on the table.

What is the most popular restaurant chain in Korea?

Unsurprisingly, nailing the right fried chicken is the lottery ticket for restaurants in the region. Within South Korea, Lotteria is counted as the most popular fast food chain since 1979. Closer home, you will find that a slew of restaurants command a similar cult-like following: Sky Korean restaurant in Dubai,  Hyu Dubai  and Seoul Garden Korean restaurant in Dubai. If you are ready to expand your horizons further, take your pick from our round-up of the must-try  Korean restaurants  in Dubai. Whether you are looking to take some bottled kimchi home or you are looking to find Authentic red rice cakes (tteokbokki) in Dubai, there is something for everyone.

Nestled within a grand canyon of skyscrapers, Kimpo doesn’t not blend in as much as it stands out as a bold juxtaposition in the  DIFC  area. Step within, and your senses will be held captive by the graffiti scrawled on the walls alongside cyberpunk neon signs. For a Brooklyn-meets-Seoul vibe, Kimpo is your ticket for an unforgettable evening with the crew.

Your  mukbang  moment:  Will occur with the brunch spread that offers up classic Korean takeout boxes—have your pick from kimchi udon noodles, japchae or kimchi fried rice. Crispy servings of chicken smothered in the eatery’s signature sauces.

12 Top Fine Dining Restaurants In Dubai That Have Redefined Haute Cuisine

There is a certain element of theatricality expected of luxury dining—a fact that the top fine dining restaurants in Dubai understand all too well. Delve deeper within the city’s culinary gems and you’ll find gourmands from around the world flocking to Michelin-approved menus served against jaw-dropping panoramas. Cancel all your weekend plans and head to the top dining experiences in Dubai that the world has its eye on.

What is fine dining?

  • Fine dining  is often mistaken simply as a luxury culinary experience—but that would be a great disservice, as though to call the sun a shining orb in the sky.
  • Instead, fine dining attempts to whisk gourmands away into an immersive world where every ingredient unfolds like poetry.
  • Presentation, service and ambiance all unite to create a mellifluous melange for a meal unlike any other.
  • The element of luxury is further heightened by a sense of intimacy, with many  fine dining restaurants  in Dubai only accepting a limited number of guests for creating an unparalleled experience.

What is the fine dining dress code for ladies?

  • Before you Google “fine dining restaurants near me,” it is helpful to understand the dress code required for the occasion.
  • While you needn’t go black-tie only, most fine dining places in Dubai adhere to a strict dress code.
  • Flip flops, sneakers and casual footwear are all frowned upon. Instead, you’ll want to allow your quest for fine dining dress ideas to be guided by elegant sheath dresses, cocktail gowns and chic jewelry.
  • Why? At its core, fine dining is an occasion that transcends the ordinary and as a consequence, dressing the part can help create an immersive experience for all patrons.

What is the most expensive restaurant in Dubai?

  • A quick sweep of the culinary landscape in Dubai and you’ll know that there is no dearth of restaurants waiting to take home this crown.
  • You have the royal gold biryani at Bombay Borough priced at AED 1,000 while a single scoop of the black diamond ice cream at Scoopi can set you back by AED 3,000.
  • More exclusive experiences, like the infinity dinner at The Link, offer up an intimate evening for twenty guests only at AED 15,000.

Does Dubai have Michelin restaurants?

  • In a city that is synonymous with superlatives, the dining scene is nothing to scoff at either.
  • Dubai plays host to a wide array of Michelin-starred restaurants, ranging from Trèsind Studio and STAY by Yannick Alléno’s commendable round-up of two Michelin stars each.
  • A host of restaurants have also swept in one Michelin star apiece—Orfali Bros Bistronomy, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and  Ossiano —with their mastery over the world of gastronomy.
  • Ready to experience the best fine dining dishes that Dubai has to offer? Step right this way towards our edit of the most unforgettable dining experiences in the city.

Trèsind Studio

In the quest for Michelin restaurants in Dubai, Trèsind Studio unfailingly dominates conversations—and it isn’t hard to see why. Having received its second Michelin star in 2023, Trèsind is one of the top fine dining Indian restaurants in Dubai that explores the finer nuances of regional  cuisine  through a distinctly nostalgic lens. For a Friday night unlike any other, draw up a chair at Dubai’s best fine dining restaurant and lose yourself in the delicacies that the Deccan Plateau, Thar Desert, coastal plains and the Himalayan mountains have to offer.

Don’t leave without:  Sinking a spoon into the charred lobster tail swimming in a bed of corn and tamarind curry.

STAY by Yannick Alléno

One&Only The Palm isn’t known to do things by half measure—and STAY by Yannick Alléno is no exception. Doused in contemporary spirit, guests can choose to draw up a seat under a glittering canopy of crystal chandeliers or snag a table outdoors when the weather is kinder. On the two Michelin-starred menu is a roster of elaborately prepared multi-course meals. Titled ‘emotion’ and ‘experience’, the menus tip their hats to the magnanimity of dining as an event in its own right.

The refined flavors of contemporary French cuisine to be enjoyed at leisure as you float among the clouds. Art Deco-inspired flourishes wherever the eye can see—vivid pops of burgundy, gleaming marbles and mosaics—plucked right from the pages of a 1920s novel. This is luxury dining at its finest.

Don’t leave without:  The gilded finishes in the menu are not to be missed—whether you are sipping on a gold cappuccino for the ‘gram or digging into a 24-karat gold burger.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal Dubai

In the quest for unforgettable meals prepared by the top fine dining chefs in Dubai? Dinner by Heston Blumenthal’s Dubai chapter will undoubtedly top your list of luxury dining experiences in Dubai. On the quest for Japanese fine dining in Dubai? Zuma might just have the answers that you seek. Having first opened doors in 2008, it has since inspired a slew of big-ticket culinary names to train their focus on DIFC. Zuma, however, continues to stand heads and shoulders apart from the competition with its innovative take on contemporary Japanese cuisine as one of the best  Asian  fine dining restaurants in the city.

Zuma

Don’t leave without:  Finding a spot by the glass-paneled sushi counters for an immersive approach to the cuisine. Depending on who you are dining with, there is also an intimate lounge, geometric bar and a formal dining room to be considered.

Ninive

Strands of Arabic, Gulf and North African cuisines all work their way into the menu here—reviving lost culinary traditions from Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Morocco and beyond. Looking to expand your horizons? For the season, Ninive is offering a chef’s selection set menu highlighting classic delicacies from the region.

Don’t leave without:  Treating your tastebuds to a flavorful tagine stew that will arrive at your table in handcrafted crockery unique to the venue.
