It’s All About Fun!

DWYC’s membership is strong and we consider one another family! Whether you’re a salty sailor, prize-winning angler, new to the harbor and looking to make friends that “get you,” the Club’s social atmosphere is incomparable to any other. 

Those who own a qualifying vessel are welcome to seek membership by emailing the Vice Commodore and completing an application. That is your first step to membership.

Timing for consideration is based on whether you own a boat, as there are lists for both categories at this time. Don’t worry! We’ll keep you informed and get you in as soon as possible!

DWYC is a Southern California Yachting Association Senior Club that offers it’s members and guests unbeatable services and activities. We’re known up and down the coast – and beyond – for our hospitality, incredible dining experience, top-shelf bar service and hosting fun and entertaining social events. DANA WEST YACHT CLUB offers a delectable selection of menu items for lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast.  Enjoy one of our gourmet, high-top “Burgers Your Way,” one of many seasonal or classic salads or a tender Prime Filet Mignon.  

On  Sunday , come down for breakfast and a mimosa or Bloody Mary.  Better yet, let us do the cooking for dinner and order our mouth-watering Prime Rib that is especially prepared every Sunday.  Try the Captain’s Cut if you have a serious appetite!

Seasonal Daily & Weekly Specials

Executive Chef Angel Fabian and his team create a fresh variety of lunch and dinner specials each week that you can enjoy.  Not able to hang out at the club? Your meal can be packaged for dining at home, on the boat or picnicking in the harbor. The Daily & Weekly Specials are in addition to our regular menu that offers a wide selection of delicious, freshly prepared dishes for lunch and dinner.  

There are more parties and events at the clubhouse than you can imagine!  Please see the master calendar for all the details.

Popular activities are karaoke, weekly game nights, sports viewing and planned parties that often include live music, dancing, costumes and prizes. Of course there are also holiday celebrations, such Mother’s Day and Easter Brunch, and Father’s Day BBQ.

Charity Regatta

“ Sailing for Life ” ™was conceived as the theme for  Dana West Yacht Club’s 26th Annual Charity Regatta  hosted on June 2-4, 2023, in support of the  American Cancer Society .

Together, DWYC and the ACS invite other yacht clubs, sailing organizations and generous sailors to adopt “Sailing for Life” as the theme for one of their fundraising events or other boating-related charitable efforts.

Youth Sailing

DWYC has one of the most active programs in Southern California, visiting destinations up and down the coast. This includes annual cruises to Catalina Island’s Isthmus and Avalon Harbor annually, and extended cruises to Channel Islands, San Diego and beyond.

Weather seminars, cruising destination presentations and burgee exchanges with clubs members have visited are part of the program.

Dana Point offers some of the best competition in Area J with winds ranging from low to high challenging any racer on the course. We host a friendly two-man series, harvest moon series, weekly summer evenings, and a 3-day charity regatta benefitting American Cancer Society.

DWYC is also represented in regional regattas, championships and international races.

Fishing at DWYC has grown so much over the last several years with several organized tournaments throughout the long season. So fill up your cooler, grab a few reels and join in the fun!

The Clubhouse & Bar are currently currently open for members and two of their personal guests for dinner. We are once again able to accommodate reciprocal guests from other yacht clubs and look forward to seeing you. Please bring your badge and check in upon entering at the front desk or with the bartender.

Membership: Annual fee of $200. Must attend 2 events, one being a cruise. Must own a Boat.

Comments: Established in 1931, we have members from San Diego to San Pedro, Powerboats and Sailboats. We are a fun boating community that enjoy’s cruising throughout Southern California. In the winter, we have a social dinner each month at different restaurants throughout Dana Point, San Clemente, Laguna Niguel and surrounding areas. We like to host Charitable events, such as Poker Runs, to raise money for our Youth Sailing Clubs throughout So Calif. Our most popular event held every July, is our Tiki Regatta which is our annual Sailing Race. We welcome all Sailboats to join in

Parking rates

MON-SUN before 5 PM $2.00/first hour from 7am to 5pm $1.00/subsequent hour

MON-SUN after 5 PM $3.00/entry from 5.01pm to 6.59am the following day

How to enjoy the charter

If you are not normally a sea person, it is really highly recommended that you take a “seasick” tablet at least 30 minutes before departure. Please consult your Pharmacy if in doubt or should you have questions. You need to take the tablets before boarding the vessel, as it does not work well if you are already onboard the vessel!

What to wear

You are going to be outside on the water for several hours. The key thing is sun protection, so bring a hat and sunglasses for day charters. You might also want to go swimming during the day, so bring your swimming costumes and gear, towels and a change of clothes if necessary. Sailing is a fun and laid back experience – so formal attires are not recommended in the warm and humid weather.

When you board the yacht, you will be required to remove your shoes. We require bare feet for two main reasons:

Safety. Loose footwear can sometimes snag. Add this to the fact that the boat is moving up and down on waves, and we want to minimize the chances of accidents or property losses at sea.

Damage. Most shoes will leave marks on the white decks, and any with hard soles may damage the decks.

Number of passengers allowed

Please be notified that the maximum number of passengers allowed onboard (including yourself) is as per the indicated number in the email sent to you. “Passenger” is defined as any person regardless of age (which would include toddlers, babies, domestic helpers, etc). This is an important condition on your charter. There will be no exception to this rule. Please be advised that the Skipper will not initiate the charter in the event there are more than the allowed number of passengers on-board.

Also note: Please be advised that Pets are not allowed on board at all times.

A pleasant retreat from the hustle of the city.

Two restaurants offer excellent dining with a spectacular view of the sea. For snacks, a cool drink and ambience, the bar promises the opportunity to bask in the luxurious rays of setting sun. Spacious and tastefully decorated function rooms have much to offer for social functions and presentations. As a yacht club, the Chart Room offers a wealth of information for the avid mariner as well as the busy executive. Children are catered for in the Children's Room while the adults can try their hand at the ever-popular Jackpot Room or enjoy a game of American pool at The Mess.

Spacious guest rooms make for a pleasant retreat from the hustle of the city. Inside, a blend of modern furnishing with luxurious accessories pamper the senses as you soak in the resort-style atmosphere of the Club. The resort-style swimming pool and a fully equipped gymnasium round off the extensive facilities available at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club.

Karaoke Lounge

Sing your heart away at our karaoke lounge members are free to organise their own karaoke parties, birthday celebrations or informal gatherings just for a crooning session every afternoon. do check with us on the available timeslots, operating hours, monday - friday: 5pm - 12am saturday & sunday: 3pm - 12am service button will be used between 3pm - 5pm on saturday and sunday   for enquiries and reservation, please contact f&b department at 6768 9349 or e-mail to [email protected], informal. t-shirts and shorts with footwear, excluding slippers, singlets and swimwear. all footwear, when worn, is to be dry and clean., for the enjoyment of all members, users of the ktv lounge are required to abide by the following rules: • only members are allowed in the ktv lounge. • a member can bring in up to three guests but the member must be present in the ktv lounge. • children below twelve (12) years of age has to be accompanied by the member at all times. alcoholic beverages are served to 18 years old and above only. the club reserves the right to check id for verification., used for navigation mapping and planning, the rsyc chart room offers nautical books, magazines, charts and computers with internet facilities to help you plot your trips, as well as research boating information., 9am to 10pm     daily, for the enjoyment of all members, users of the chart room are required to abide by the following rules: • age limit - 14 years old and above • the chart room shall only be used for the following purposes:   - reading   - seafarers mapping routes   - internet search • no private tuitions, private meetings or unauthorized gathering is allowed. • no food is allowed to be consumed in the chart room. • only in-house non-alcoholic drinks are allowed. • no sleeping in the room • please place your order with the beacon at ext. 453., work your way to a healthier lifestyle at the fully-equipped gymnasium overlooking the swimming pool. or book some sessions with the in-house personal trainer to achieve your fitness goals. while the facilities are available to members at no extra cost, specially tailored programmes provided by professional instructors are available by appointment at a nominal fee., proper sports attire and sports shoes     non-sports attire, swimwear and bare-footed are not allowed, 7am to 10pm daily     for enquries and reservation, please contact gym at 6768 9358 / 288, designed to resemble the interiors of a cabin, the mess bar at rsyc lets members relive that same mood of comradeship sailors experience as they bond by their drinking wells out in the open seas. the perfect hideaway to escape the woes of work with friends over drinks, the cosy ambience is also ideal for a game of pool or rooting for your favourite sports team with your fellow shipmates., 4pm to 12midnight     daily, for the enjoyment of all members, users of the mess bar are required to abide by the following rules: • only members and their guests are allowed in the mess bar. • children below twelve (12) years of age has to be accompanied by the member at all times. alcoholic beverages are served to 18 years old and above only. the club reserves the right to check id for verification., booking of mahjong room can be made via phone or in person at the front office on a first-come-first-serve basis. please call 6768 9288 each member can only sign in max 3 guests. masks must be worn at all times. no food & drinks allowed in the mahjong room, 10am to 12am, informal (t-shirts and shorts with footwear. all footwear when worn, is to be dry and clean) no singlets, swimwear, wet attire, flip-flops and bare-bodied are disallowed, • common room: $5.00 per hour • guest: $5.00 per pax (up to 3 guests per member) the club reserves the right to amend the hourly and overnight fees from time to time without prior notice. for further enquiries, please contact mahjong room at 6768 9288, swimming pool, take a day off to simply laze by the resort-style swimming pool and you will understand why this non-activity is such a favourite among our guests. just steps away from the guest rooms and diner, everything you need to soothe out the stress of life is well within reach from the swimming pool., 7am to 10pm please note that there are no lifeguards on duty at the pool., proper swimming attire. no footwear in the swimming pool. for further enquiries, please contact front office at 6768 9288, children's room, catered especially for the kids, the vibrant children's room are equipped with kid-friendly amenities, toys and furniture to keep them entertained all day long while you take a dip in the pool, work out at the gymnasium next door, or simply catch up with friends over a meal by the sea front., • 11am - 8pm (mon - thu) • 11am - 10pm (sat, sun and public holiday), informal - t-shirts and shorts. no footwear. for further enquiries, please contact front office at 6768 9288, badminton court, looking for some speed, agility and power sweat it out in a game of badminton at our indoor court at the quarterdeck, • 9am - 10pm (mon - sun, including public holiday) • not available for booking on every saturday from 4pm - 5pm as the quarterdeck will be used to conduct yoga lesson., proper sports attire. only non-marking shoes allowed in quarterdeck., booking fee, • $5+ per hour max 2 hours per session, rules and regulations, • warning: low ceiling height. court recommended for amateur players and kids only • members must bring their own racket and shuttlecock • members may bring in up to 3 guest but must be present throughout the session. • booking must be made via rsyc website or through the front office before playing. • individuals should restrict their use of facilities to no more than 2 hours each time. • only non-marking shoes allowed in quarterdeck, jackpot room, 2pm -
