The Best Way to Display Burgees in a Yacht Club: A Comprehensive Guide

Table of Contents

Introduction

Burgees are an essential part of the identity and tradition of yacht clubs worldwide. They represent the club’s history, achievements, and values, and are often displayed with pride by members and guests alike. However, displaying burgees improperly or haphazardly can detract from the club’s image and tradition. In this article, we will explore the best way to display burgees in a yacht club, taking into account different types of burgees, suitable locations for display, mounting methods, and maintenance. Whether you are a new member or an experienced yachtsman, following the proper etiquette for burgee display can enhance the beauty and elegance of your yacht club, while preserving its heritage and prestige. So, let’s dive in and discover the secrets of the best way to display burgees in your yacht club!

Understand the different types of burgees

Before we dive into the best way to display burgees in a yacht club, it’s essential to understand the different types of burgees that exist. The three main types of burgees are Club Burgees, Officer Burgees, and Special Event Burgees.

Club Burgees

A Club Burgee is a distinctive flag or pennant that represents the yacht club as a whole. It usually features the club’s emblem or logo and is the most commonly displayed burgee. The Club Burgee is often flown at the club’s main flagpole, clubhouse or displayed in a prominent location.

Officer Burgees

Officer Burgees are smaller flags that represent a specific club officer or position, such as the Commodore, Vice-Commodore, Rear Commodore, or Fleet Captain. These burgees are often flown on the officer’s boat or displayed in their office or workspace.

Special Event Burgees

Special Event Burgees are temporary flags that represent a specific event, such as a regatta, race, or social gathering. They are typically flown for the duration of the event and then retired or kept as a memento.

Understanding the different types of burgees is crucial for displaying them properly and with respect. By knowing the different types, you can ensure that each burgee is given the appropriate display location and treatment. In the next section, we will discuss the best location for displaying burgees in a yacht club.

Mounting methods for burgee display

There are several mounting methods available for displaying burgees, depending on the location and type of burgee being displayed. The most common methods include:

Halyard Mounting

The halyard mounting method involves attaching the burgee to a halyard, which is then hoisted up a flagpole. This method is commonly used for Club Burgees and Officer Burgees.

Wall Mounting

Wall mounting involves attaching the burgee to a wall using screws, hooks, or clips. This method is often used for displaying burgees in a designated Burgee Display Area.

Horizontal Mounting

Horizontal mounting involves attaching the burgee to a horizontal pole, which is then attached to a vertical surface such as a wall or post. This method is commonly used for displaying burgees in a designated Burgee Display Area.

Pennant String

A pennant string involves attaching several burgees to a single string and hanging it in a designated location. This method is often used for displaying special event burgees.

Here is a video related to this post:

When choosing a mounting method, it’s important to consider the location and the type of burgee being displayed. The method chosen should be secure, safe, and not cause any damage to the burgee or the location. In the next section, we will discuss how to maintain burgees for long-lasting display.

Maintaining burgees for long-lasting display

To ensure that burgees are displayed in their best condition and last for a long time, proper maintenance is crucial. The following tips can help you maintain your burgees:

Regularly clean your burgees to remove any dirt, dust, or debris. Use a mild detergent and warm water, and gently scrub the burgee with a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry before storing or displaying it again.

When not in use, store your burgees in a cool, dry, and dark location to avoid exposure to sunlight or moisture. You can roll them up or fold them neatly and store them in a dry, airtight container or bag.

Regularly inspect your burgees for any signs of damage, wear and tear, or discoloration. Repair any damages immediately to prevent further deterioration.

Replacement

Over time, burgees may become faded, torn, or damaged beyond repair. When this happens, it’s best to replace them with new ones to ensure a fresh and elegant display.

By following these tips, you can maintain your burgees in their best condition and display them with pride for years to come. In the next section, we will summarize the key points and provide some final thoughts on the best way to display burgees in a yacht club.

The Best Way to Display Burgees in a Yacht Club: A Comprehensive Guide

Displaying burgees is an important tradition in yacht clubs, and it’s essential to do it right. By understanding the different types of burgees, choosing the right location, selecting the appropriate mounting method, and maintaining the burgees correctly, you can display them with elegance and pride.

Remember, a well-displayed burgee represents the history, tradition, and achievements of the club and its members. It can enhance the club’s image and promote a sense of belonging and pride among members.

So, whether you are displaying the Club Burgee, Officer Burgees, or special event burgees, always take the time to do it right. Follow the guidelines we’ve outlined in this article, and you’ll be well on your way to displaying burgees in the best way possible.

The style of many yacht club flags are triangular and are commonly called a burgee. The burgee will depict the devices of the clubs badge and often have their name visible.

Yacht clubs and members will also fly their own Ensign flags which are rectangular in shape and usually contain The Union Flag in the top left canton on either a red or blue field depending on the clubs status. The clubs device will then be shown usually centrally on the right hand side of the field.

We also manufacture many courtesy, ensign, house and registration flags for today’s “SuperYachts”, these flags are normally considerably larger to take in account for the size of the vessel. We can often add intricate bespoke quality touches, such as adding a satin fabric and enhancing badge work if applicable, we can also allow text to be read correctly on both sides of the Flag.

Signal flags can be found in our separate section click here .

BURGEES, ENSIGNS, FLAGS and PENNANTS

yacht club burgee designs

By Judy Hills, ACBS roving reporter, member of RDC Triangle Chapter

Have you ever given thought to the burgees, ensigns, flags and pennants that we fly on our boats?  Did you consciously select yours or did you just copy what you saw someone else doing?  What do you know about nautical flag etiquette and usage?  This article addresses this topic.

yacht club burgee designs

According to the US Power Squadron, “Flags are often too small…The national ensign flown at a flag staff on the stern of your boat should be one inch on the fly (long end) for each foot of overall length.”

Flag —One class of flags is called the “international maritime signal flags.”  According to Wikipedia, there is a signal flag “for each letter of the alphabet, and pennant for numerals.  Each flag (except the R flag) has an additional meaning when flown individually, and they take on other meanings in certain combinations.”  For more information on the meanings of international maritime signal flags click on this link:  http://www.marinewaypoints.com/learn/flags/flags.shtml   It is more common to see the international maritime signal flags displayed on sailboats than pleasure power boats.

Did you know?

  • The word for the scientific study of the history, symbolism and usage of flags is vexillology.
  • The position of honor on a ship is the quarterdeck at the stern of a ship, and thus ensigns are traditionally flown either from the ensign staff at the ship’s stern, or from a gaff rigged over the stern.
  • The general rule that no flag is flown higher than the national flag does not apply onboard a ship.  A flag flown at the stern is always in a superior position to a flag flown elsewhere on the ship, even if the latter is higher up. (Wikipedia—maritime flag).
  • If you take your boat to international or foreign waters, the traditional United States ensign should be flown.
  • You should avoid flying more than one ensign from a single halyard or antenna.
  • Massachusetts and Maine are the only two states with their own maritime flags (special versions of the state flags for use afloat).
  • There is an international burgee registry. http://www.burgees.com/burgeeframe.htm
  • To learn more about maritime flag etiquette: http://www.usps.org/f_stuff/etiquett.html
  • If you are into vexillology and want to see some really weird flag designs, check out https://www.reddit.com/r/vexillology/ or click here to see vexillology Youtube videos. Click here to check out the National Maritime Museum’s historical collection of flags.

So, having a little fun with our vexillology topic, if you or your ACBS Chapter were to design a flag, what would it look like?

Send  your pictures, reports, announcements, and boat biographies to  [email protected]

Nice informative piece, thx. One concern: I recently ordered and attempted to fly the ACBS burgee on my ’55 Chris-Craft Continental 22′ and discoverd that the height measurement (~13″) is way too long for my canted mast (pins are about 9″ apart). Has ACBS considered a more “runabout” size for a burgee?

I contacted the company that we purchase the burgees from. The company offers a 10″ size which should place the grommet holes about 9″ apart. If you would like me to order one for you, let me know if you prefer cotton or nylon and slanted or straight. The cost is $39.

This added information came from Gene Porter: “Your yacht ensign info is inaccurate or remiss in that it fails to note that the yacht ensign must never be flown in international or foreign waters since it has no standing as a national ensign. [from the Power Squadron web site]

This is particularly applicable in such areas as the Thousand Islands where US boats frequent Canadian waters, too often flying illegal flags.

Thank you, Gene. One of the advantages of being in this organization is that information is shared from many sources. The website committee invites comments and discussions. It helps us all be more informed.

I fly the flag and ensign that was actually shipped from Century in June of 1959 when my Gray V8 powered 16 ‘ Resorter was delivered to Ithaca NY, she has only had two owners and moved 15 miles North still on Cayuga l and is now used mostly for sunset rides, she saw many hours as a competition ski boat as her original owner was a skier for many years she has also made the trip from Sodus Bay NY across Lake Ontario to the St. Lawrence seaway twice a year for many years to his cottage on the St Lawrence.

Great article but I believe you left out an important fact about the U S ensign. Congress in 1914 or 1916, please don’t hold me to the dates, pasted a law that made the United States Power Squadrons flag an official flag for U S yachts. Bob Korts Member USPS since 1960.

Did you know original ensign flags had sewn stars not embroidered stars like we see today. The stars were cut out of fabric and sewn around the edges.

"The Royal Yacht Squadron is one of the most prestigious yacht clubs in the world. Its clubhouse is Cowes Castle on the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom. Member yachts are given the Suffix RYS to their names, and permitted to wear the White Ensign of the Royal Navy rather than the merchant Red Ensign worn by the majority of other UK registered vessels. The club's patron is Queen Elizabeth II and the club's admiral is Prince Philip who is also a former club commodore." (source wikipedia). The club was founded in 1815, an early member was King George IV. The squadron founded the America's Cup in 1851, today still yachting's most prestigious trophy. Robert Scott of Antartica was also a member, he sailed to Antartica in 1910 under squadron colours - a year after this brooch was made.

18 facts about the Royal Yacht Squadron’s colourful history

As the Royal Yacht Squadron celebrates its bicentenary this June, we take a look at its colourful history.

The Isle of Wight’s Royal Yacht Squadron, established 200 years ago, has a colourful history. Here, we detail 18 fascinating Royal Yacht Squadron facts.

  • The Royal Yacht Squadron was established on June 1, 1815, at the Thatched House Tavern in St James’s, London W1. Originally named The Yacht Club, it comprised 42 gentlemen members, who agreed to meet twice a year to discuss their mutual interest over dinner
  • At first, it was mandatory to own a vessel ‘not under 10 tons’. This was changed to ‘gentlemen actively interested in yachting’ when lightweight construction became more commonplace
  • Members’ yachts are awarded the suffix RYS. In 1829, the Admiralty issued a warrant for them to fly what is now the Navy’s White Ensign rather than the merchant Red Ensign displayed by most other UK-registered vessels
  • The Yacht Club became ‘Royal’ when the Prince Regent, a member, became George IV in 1820; 13 years later, it was renamed The Royal Yacht Squadron by command of William IV
  • New members are proposed by existing members and then have to be voted in
  • In the 1970s, the rejection of the Prime Minister, Edward Heath —a successful yachtsman—caused quite a stir and brought the club some adverse publicity
  • The Queen is the current patron and The Duke of Edinburgh, the Squadron’s Admiral, continues to be an active participant
  • Admiral Sir Thomas Hardy, Nelson’s captain at Trafalgar, was among the early Honorary Naval members
  • The club’s present home, Cowes Castle, was built in 1539 as part of Henry VIII’s chain of coastal defences
  • In 1851, the Squadron invited the New York Yacht Club (NYYC) to produce a challenge to its own fastest yacht. The NYYC’s schooner America won the race and so gave its name to the new trophy—the America’s Cup
  • The first official race took place on August 10, 1826
  • Only on very rare occasions do the wrought-iron gates of Cowes Castle swing open to admit outsiders
  • Despite meeting all the pre-conditions, the tea merchant and unsuccessful America’s Cup contender Sir Thomas Lipton had to wait until his 80th birthday before his request was finally granted. He died two years later
  • The first Commodore of the Royal Yacht Squadron, the Earl of Yarborough, was a prodigious host, who gave magnificent parties aboard his yacht Falcon and at his home on the Isle of Wight during the Regatta
  • Members began publishing accounts of exploratory voyages from the mid 19th century. Lord Brassey’s Sunbeam logged 37,000 miles, but another member, Ben Boyd, was captured and eaten by natives of the Solomon Islands in 1851
  • The explorer Capt Scott was a member—the St George’s Cross and crown burgee flown by his ship Terra Nova are displayed at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich
  • Members’ yachts went to the Crimea and took part in both World Wars. In the Second World War, the Squadron offered its clubhouse to the Admiralty and the castle became HMS Vectis, suffering damage in the air raids on Cowes, which was targeted for its shipbuilding industry
  • French painter Raoul Dufy depicted the Royal Yacht Squadron and its races in several works during the late 1920s and early 1930s. The most famous, Regatta at Cowes, 1934, is housed in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, USA

royal yacht squadron burgee

From Cowes Roads the yachtsman sees the Squadron Castle as battlements, a round tower, and a flagstaff. Behind the embodied history of the sport of yachting is another history too, for Henry VIII had the castle built in 1539 as a deterrent to the French.

Its former guns are only once known to have been fired in anger, in 1642 during the Civil War. Now its William IV cannon, which once belonged to the Royal Adelaide, fire at five minute intervals to start 4,000 yachtsmen in their races.

From here much more began than racing under sail. It was once believed that the name Cowes came from the two forts or ‘cow castles’ that Henry VIII built at the entrance of the Medina River. John Leland wrote in 1545:

"The two Great Cows that in loud thunder roar, This on the eastern that on the western shore.”

Using stone from Quarr and Beaulieu abbeys, Henry’s Master Mason, Thomas Bertie, who also built Calshot, constructed at West Cowes a semi-circular gun platform commanded by a small, round, two storey tower with two single storey wings.

The platform, the roofs of the tower and wings were pierced for cannon. There were also bows and chests for arrows in the inventory. Sir William D’Avenant, the Poet Laureate who gossip held was the offspring of Shakespeare, was captured in the Channel in 1650, en route for Virginia. He was locked up in the Castle. Buck shows the Castle before the major alterations in 1716, when much of the round tower was demolished. A new wall was built roughly across the centre of the old tower, with a more domestic face to the seaward, decorated with windows.

Further alterations were achieved in the 18th century. The principal remodeling took place after the lease was transferred to the Squadron in 1855. Anthony Salvin, who had worked at Alnwick and Scotney Castles, was given the job of improving the building “replete with every comfort and luxury”.

royal yacht squadron burgee

Salvin made extensive alterations and additions, adding the Platform, a Ballroom for summer use and the Western Tower. The Isle of Wight Observer was critical and thought a local architect would have produced a prettier design. The reporter wrote, after the RYS burgee had been hoisted on the 6th July, 1858:

"Some have compared the front to a monastery and the rear of the building to a nobleman’s mews, while others have declared it, from its irregular appearance, to resemble a discipline establishment".
The Observer goes on: “One might think it had sprung up out of the fumes of the cook‘s stockpot – a perfect olla podrida – a mixture of everything.”

The Squadron bought the Castle and grounds from the Crown in 1917.

There were further developments in the 1920’s, but the main alterations were achieved in 1964, when Prince Philip was Commodore. The Club was able to acquire stone for this work from the demolition of the second East Cowes Castle built by John Nash. The old pine panelled gentlemen’s heads became the Ladies Dining Room and the Balcony was added in “Festival of Britain” style. The corrugated iron platform roof needed constant repair and was replaced in GRP by Ove Arup. The Platform was linked to the Ladies Drawing Room by the Bird Cage in 1988. The Castle has survived because the building has adjusted gracefully to new uses.

The award-winning Pavilion on the Squadron lawn, designed by Sir Thomas Croft to resemble an orangery, was built in 2000. With the benefit of over 20 years of experience, it was re-modelled by a major alteration in 2022/23. Since then, the Haven was constructed in 2006 and the Old Vicarage was acquired in 2019. The Eastern Cow did not survive, the Castle being demolished soon after it was built. All that remains of Henry VIII’s fort on the eastern side of the Medina is the name of the headland - Old Castle Point.

Frequent reference to the Royal Yacht Squadron will be found elsewhere in this work, and under this particular heading no attempt can be made to give anything further than the merest outline of this club’s history.

The Squadron dates from 1815. For some few years prior to that date the pastime of sailing had been growing in favour in the Solent, and a number of visitors were attracted to Cowes every summer to indulge in the sport. It was only natural that these first yachtsmen should ultimately form a club to carry on their sport in an organized fashion, and so we find that a meeting was held at the Thatched House Tavern in St. James’s Street on June 1, 1815, under the presidency of Lord Grantham, when it was decided to form the Yacht Club, which was to consist of men interested in the sailing of yachts in salt water.

The qualification for membership was the ownership of a vessel not under 10 tons, and the original subscription was two guineas, with an entrance fee, afterwards imposed, of three guineas.

In 1817 the Prince Regent became member of the organization, and he was the first of the long list of Royal patrons which have honoured the club. Upon the Prince Regent becoming King in 1820, he consented to give a royal title to the club, and from that date it was known as the Royal Yacht Club – the first yacht club to enjoy that distinction. For some years after the formation of the club but little was done in the way of organized racing; but in the year 1826 a regatta was held, on August 10, at which a gold cup of the value of £100 was competed for. The winner of this, the first cup ever competed for under the auspices of the Royal Yacht Club, was Mr. Joseph Weld’s famous cutter,  Arrow.

In the following year, in addition to cups presented by the club and by the town of Cowes, the regatta was made memorable by the presentation of a cup by King George IV. This was the first royal trophy presented for competition in a yacht race, and was won by Mr. Maxse’s cutter  Miranda.

The club continued to be known as the Royal Yacht Club until the year 1833, when, in July of that year, King William IV, as a mark of approval of an ‘institution of such national utility,’ authorized the name to be altered to that of the Royal Yacht Squadron, the name by which it has ever since been known. His Majesty followed the example set by King George IV, and gave a cup to be competed for every year, and this custom has been observed by the reigning monarch ever since.

Up to the year 1829 there had been several alterations in the flag flown by yachts belonging to the club, but in that year the Admiralty issued a warrant authorizing members to fly the white ensign, and at the same time the white burgee, as we know it to-day, was adopted.

The application of steam power to yachts was viewed with much disfavour in the Squadron in earlier days, and at a meeting held at the Thatched House Tavern in 1827 the following resolution was passed : ‘Resolved that as a material object of this club is to promote seamanship and the improvements of sailing vessels, to which the application of steam-engines is inimical, no vessel propelled by steam shall be admitted into the club, and any member applying a steam-engine to his yacht shall be disqualified thereby and cease to be a member.’ In 1844 this rule was somewhat modified by admitting steam yachts to the club of not less than 100 horse-power, and in 1853 all restrictions in regard to steam were removed.

The present quarters, the Castle, were taken possession of in 1858.

The first Commodore was the Earl of Yarborough, who held the post from 1825 to 1846. He was succeeded by the Marquis of Donegall, who occupied the position for two years, and was in turn succeeded by the Earl of Wilton, who retained the post from 1849 to 1881. In 1882 the office was filled by H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, and retained by him until 1901, when, upon becoming King, His Majesty became Admiral, and the Marquis of Ormonde was elected to the Commodoreship.

The Vice-Commodores during the same period have been : The Earl of Belfast, from 1827 to 1844, and afterwards (as the Marquis of Donegall) from 1845 to 1846; Sir Bellingham Graham, Bart., from 1847 to I850 ; C. R. M. Talbot, Esq., M.P., from 1851 to 1861; the Marquis of Conyngham, from 1862 to 1875; the Marquis of Londonderry, from 1876 to 1884 ; the Marquis of Ormonde, from 1885 to 1901 ; the Duke of Leeds, 1901 to present day.

The Royal Yacht Squadron has often been referred to as the most exclusive club in the world. Its list of Royal members, past and present, is an imposing one, and includes : H.M. King George IV; H.M. King William IV; H.R.H. the Duke of Gloucester; H.M. Queen Victoria; H.R.H. Prince Albert (Prince Consort); H.I.M. Nicholas, Emperor of Russia; H.R.H. Barnaul – the view from above

No comments · Posted by Sergei Rzhevsky in Cities , Photos , Travel

Barnaul is a city with a population of about 632 thousand people located in the south of Western Siberia at the confluence of the Barnaulka and the Ob rivers, the administrative center of the Altai Krai .

It was founded as a settlement at the Akinfiy Demidov silver smelting plant in 1730. The blast furnace on the city’s coat of arms reminds of those times. Today, it is a large industrial, cultural, medical, and educational center of Siberia . Photos by: Slava Stepanov .

Sights of Barnaul, Altai Krai – what to see in 1 day

Barnaul is a truly amazing Siberian city, the attention to which is increasing every year. The reason for this is its location (the left bank of the Ob River) and the presence of many different attractions. The city has a 300-year history. In September 1937, Barnaul became the capital of the Altai Territory. It was here that the first in Siberia were built:

  • pharmacy and medical school;
  • the first monument to Viktor Tsoi in Russia.

During the Great Patriotic War, many Russian factories evacuated from the European part of the country found refuge here. It was they who supplied the front with weapons and ammunition. Barnaul became the main supplier of cartridges and bullets. In the 50s, the city became the center of virgin land development.

Modern Barnaul is famous for its museums, libraries, recreation parks, theaters, art galleries, temples, bridges, tourist complexes and recreation centers. There is a library for visually impaired and blind visitors. Despite the natural disasters (flood, earthquake, major fire), revolution, war Barnaul developed, grew and became a beautiful city with a developed infrastructure and a population of over 650,000. It offers tourists the airport, railway, bus station, highways connecting the city with all corners of the country and the Altai Territory.

Barnaul is rightly called the city of festivals. Thousands of guests visit the famous “Barnaul Spring”, “Cheese Festival”, “Museum Night” and other events held in the city at different times of the year.

One of the oldest city temples, which is more than 110 years old. The history of the cathedral is quite interesting. It was built on the site of an old wooden church at the expense of parishioners of a rather poor settlement. The cathedral was built in a short time, spending only 6 years on it. Lighting was produced in 1904. The project was made in the neo-Byzantine style. The material that was used in the construction is red brick. The temple is located in the west of the old city and impresses with its grandeur and interior decoration. For painting, oil paints were used, which were applied to dry plaster. The temple survived the time when such structures were destroyed, looted or turned into warehouses. He received a new life in the late 40s, when its restoration began. For many years it was the only cathedral where Christians could come to pray, baptize their children or order a prayer service. At the temple for many years there was a parochial school, it taught everyone to receive education for free. Now it is an active temple, it holds regular divine services here. On the official website you can find out more about the opening hours and services provided.

On July 18, 1994, it was decided to transform the temple into a convent. The first abbess was the nun Glafira. Two years later, through the works and prayers of the first monastic sisters, the main church was restored and the limit was illuminated in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “The Sign”. The monastery was replenished with shrines. From Jerusalem, particles of the relics of the Venerable Martyr Elizabeth were delivered, the icon “Unfed Color” and the image of the Mother of God of Pochaev were donated. This is an architectural monument of the middle of the twentieth century. It is located in the central part of the city and is considered one of the symbols of Barnaul. It is also called the “Deli under the spire”, “Spire” or “Under the spire”. The building is an important element of the surrounding ensemble. It was built as a residential building with commercial premises. The architect of the project is Yakov Nikolaevich Doditsa, although the name of the architect F.K. Doditsa is erroneously indicated on the memorial plaque on the facade of the building.

The house under the spire was built from 1953 to 1956. In urban architecture, he completed the period of Stalinist neoclassicism. The house is decorated with a clock tower, above which rises a pointed spire and weathervane. The height of the spire is about 15 meters. And the total height of the house is 46 meters.

Since the 50s of the past century, on the first floor of the building there were shops and cafes. Apartments, thanks to improved layout, in the Soviet years were transferred to military, cultural figures, party workers and heroes of labor. Today, engineering communications and facades of the house require repair. The weathervane does not work, as the beams holding it have been destroyed.

In 2015, during the celebration of the 285th anniversary of Barnaul, confectionery workers of the Glazur studio baked a huge gingerbread house, the model of which corresponded to the house under the spire.

In the vicinity of Barnaul in the vlasikha there is an ostrich ranch. It was opened thanks to the efforts of a married couple in 1995. Here you can have a great time with the whole family. Especially like communication with animals to children. After all, the inhabitants can not only look, communicate with them, but feed and take pictures. Food is bought at the entrance or taken from home. Feeding rules allow this. For pets living here, carrots, cabbage, apples, greens, various herbs, nuts are suitable. On the territory of the ranch live not only ostriches. There are goats, pigs, turtles, donkeys, sheep, porcupines, zebras, deer, boas, many birds living in cages and on the pond, and other animals. The inhabitants of the ranch are well-groomed, have their own places for a comfortable stay. Many just walk around the ranch, which delights visitors.

The farm offers free sweet tea. There is a paid café where you can have a tasty and enjoyable snack. There is also an observation deck overlooking the Vlasiha River. The territory of the ranch is large and cozy, a lot of greenery.

The ranch is open from 10.00 to 18.00. The cost of an adult ticket is 250, children’s 150 rubles.
