Yachtcare Epoxy Primer is a two-component epoxy primer designed for all substrates except solid wood.

Suitable for use above and below the waterline , this product offers excellent adhesion and long-lasting protection for interior and exterior boat surfaces.

This primer is particularly suitable for use on aluminum , guaranteeing excellent adhesion prior to the application of antifouling or marine lacquer.

What's more, it resists gasoline , oils and wastewater , making it perfect for bilges and tanks.

Available in two colors, white and gray , and in 750-ml and 2.25-liter capacities, it covers up to 7.4 m² per liter for a 60-micron dry coat, meeting the needs of a variety of nautical projects.

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen IJmopox ZF Primer und IJmopox HB Coating? IJmopox ZF Primer ist ein vor Korrosion schützender, weißer 2K Epoxid-Primer, der als Grundierung eingesetzt wird. “I sanded a car down to bare metal. Got busy and put her in the garage. Now 6 months later, s he is rusting. A nything easy I can do before primer or re-sand?” 

Alright, re-sand it and then prime it. And then, you could put an epoxy primer on it, to seal it up, and then you can put a 2k filler primer on top of that. After that week later or actually the next day if you want. 

“Going to be changing a dark navy TDI Jetta to a lighter blue with a metal flake (base/clear). should I: (a) sand to metal and start from scratch or (b) light scuff and epoxy prime and go from there?” 

It depends if this is like a super sentimental build and you want to go from the ground up and take it down to bare metal, you could. I think that’s a little extreme in my opinion.

I would go with B, light scuff. You could prep it with you, it doesn’t light scuff. You’re gonna scuff it down a little bit more than a light scuff. Go with like a medium scuff if that makes sense, basically sand it down with like a 220 or 240 grit sandpaper. 

I know that it may sound a little rough. But if you’re going to prime it, prime the whole thing which I recommend because it’ll give you a good paint foundation.

And I would use a 2k filler primer instead of an epoxy. I don’t think you got to go to epoxy if you’re going to go down a bare metal. 

You should go with epoxy, but if you’re going to be 240 grit, all of your paint, then I would put two medium to heavy coats of 2k filler primer on it and block it down with 400 grit sandpaper. That’ll be the perfect foundation for you to put your base coat clear coat on top of. 

If you want to go a step further, to make sure this job is going to come out fantastic, and although it will if you painted directly over a 2k filler primer as a foundation. 

You could spray a sealer only on top of that before you spray your base coat clear coat. So say your 2k filler primer is sanded down, blocked out. Glaze some rock chips or whatever, it’s all ready to go looks good. 

You could spray a sealer right on top of it, the day you’re painting. You could just put an all-around sealer on it, seal it, then you can spray your base coat clear coat on top of it. That’s if you want to go the extra mile, but you don’t have to. You’re gonna save a couple of hundred bucks if you don’t, so just an option. Hopefully, that helps.  

“Sealer may give orange peel?”

That’s true, sealer could give you a little bit of texture on it. So that’s why I personally don’t really like to spray sealers that much. 

It’s not necessary if you have a good 2k fille primer slash sealer foundation. Because if you reduce 2k filler primer its pretty much acts as a sealer. And on some brands, it’ll tell you if you want to use that as a sealer. Add like 10 more reducers to thin it out, basically, you’re just gonna thin it out a little bit.

What to use over 2k primer to fill low spots?

I am working on a 71 Vette. I have 3 coats of Epoxy Primer and 3 coats of 2K Regular Build Primer applied to the car. I started sanding today and have a few low spots. Is there a particular product that I can apply over the 2K to raise these low spots? or do I have to sand the 2k off and apply filler over the epoxy and then primer over the filler? Thanks KO

People do often apply filler over scratched up urethane surfacer but it's not the best scenario.

Have you sanded through your primer and still have low spots? Generally I spray the epoxy and then lightly block sand with say 150 grit just to dull the surface. Works like a guide coat as the low spots will remain shiny. I do my filler work over the epoxy and then seal with more epoxy before going to the build primer. From there the build primer gets guide coated and block sanded to remove the guide coat. Any small imperfections will usually come out and if not shoot some more 2k primer and repeat the guide coat block sanding.  

Combo Man & Mod

This scenario is partly why we and a lot of other resto type people use epoxy at least through the initial stages of blocking. Low spots can be filled on top of epoxy with complete confidence. Filling on top of 2K is done like Bob says, but it's possible for the primer to lift or absorb stuff from the filler and then shrink later. When we mess up and have to skim 2k, we cure the area REALLY well with an IR lamp before and after filler application to make sure all the solvents are kicked out from below the filler before re-priming.  

If you use a polyester highbuild on your fiberglass, you minimize those problems...I believe I the all epoxy, or epoxy and polyester highbuild only....Dave  

Rage Extreme is more of a general purpose body filler. If you have a finer poly putty it would work out better for you.

Marson Platinum Plus (now 3M Platinum Plus) also specifically states in the tech sheet that existing urethane primer is a suitable substrate. However it is not a glaze. It would be like an analogue to Rage.  

I have never had a problem using spot putty over urethane primer. It's done all the time. I do like to scuff the primer first.

When repairing galvanized steel, e-coat, primed/painted surfaces or aluminum, sand with grade P80 3Mâ„¢ abrasive to remove the paint/primer. Yes....I've put lots of the Platinum Plus filler over SPI 2k. That was one of the reasons I went with it...because it was stated it could work on said substrate. I never experienced any problem, it's been a few years now.

im sure youre right but the problem is, its a really big curved panel (the roof of my bug) and its a little wavy in a few spots. when I try to block it to find the low spots, it all sands the same with no low spots showing up. I know they are there because I can feel its uneven with my hand. I fixed what I could with filler but I don't know how to get it all flat. that's why I was thinking maybe slick sand or featherfill just on the roof? any suggestions on what I can use for blocking the curve? I was using a sponge.

The Adygea Republic - Overview

The Adygea Republic (alternate spelling: Adygeya ) is a federal subject of the Russian Federation, part of the Southern Federal District. The republic is an enclave within Krasnodar Krai.

Maykop is the capital city of the region.

The population of the Adygea Republic is about 468,300 (2022), the area - 7,792 sq. km.

History of the Adygea Republic

The territory of Adygea has been inhabited since ancient times. Abadzehskaya Paleolithic site is located in Maykop district. Also there are a lot of archaeological sites of Bronze and Iron Ages. Maykop archaeological culture is well known.

A lot of unique items were found during the excavation of the hills near the village of Ulyap in Krasnogvardeysky district. Most of the precious items excavated while Adygea was part of Krasnodar krai and known as “Scythian gold” or “Kuban gold” can be found in museums outside of Adygea.

The indigenous Adyg population’s ancestors are considered to be ancient Meots, Sinds, Aheys, Zikhs, Kasogs, and Kerkets residing in the region. As a result of the Caucasian wars (1763-1864), the majority of the Adygs (Circassians) were exiled to the Ottoman Empire. The rest of the Adygs were settled in the lowlands, on the left bank of the Kuban River.

Adygea was formed on July 27, 1922 as Cherkesskaya (Adygeyskaya) Autonomous Oblast (province) with the center in Krasnodar. From August 24, 1922 till August 13, 1928, it was Adygeyskaya (Cherkesskaya) Autonomous Oblast, and then Adygeyskaya Autonomous Oblast.

From August 2, 1924 till December 28, 1934, it was part of the North Caucasian krai, then, till September 13, 1937, part of Azov-Chernomorsky krai and finally - part of Krasnodar krai.

April 10, 1936, Maykop became the capital of the region. April 28, 1962, Tulsky (now Maikopsky) district of Krasnodar krai was joined to the region. October 5, 1990, Adygeyskaya Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was declared. Since 1992, it is the Republic of Adygea.

In December 1991 - January 1992, deputies of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Adygea were elected. It was the first Parliament in the history of Adygea. In 1993, it was reformed into Legislative Assembly (Khase) and, in 1995, - into State Council - Khase. The Constitution of the Republic of Adygea was adopted by Legislative Assembly - Khase on March 10, 1995.

The Adygea Republic - Features

Adygea is located in the northern foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. The northern part of the region consists mainly of plains while the southern part has mountains. The main river of the region is the Kuban River. The highest mountains are Chugush (3,238 meters) and Fisht (2,868 meters).

The climate is moderately warm, the average temperature in January is minus 2 degrees Celsius, in July - plus 28 degrees Celsius.

The republic is rich in forest resources, which occupy more than one third of the republic’s territory (the southern part), and building materials (gravel, sand, clay, limestone). The republic has small reserves of natural gas. In the mountainous part of the republic there are small deposits of gold, ore materials.

Adygea is an industrial-agrarian republic with such industries as food processing, woodworking, pulp and paper, mechanical engineering and metalworking. The basis of the agro-industrial production is crop production, pig, sheep, poultry, and horse breeding. Several railways pass through the territory of the republic.

National composition of the population according to the 2010 census: Russians (63.6%), Adygs (Circassians) (25.8%), Armenians (3.7%). Most of the population of Adygea profess Orthodoxy and Islam. The Slavic population - Orthodox Christians, Circassians - Sunni Muslims.

There are two local universities in the republic: Adygea State University and Maikop State Technological University.

Attractions of the Adygea Republic

Adygea is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. This region is rich in waterfalls, caves, rock formations suitable for climbing, gorges, canyons, rivers, alpine meadows, pine and fir forests.

The territory of the republic is a region of mixed tourism. It is rich in interesting natural areas and objects: the Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve located in the Republic of Adygea and Krasnodar krai, the National Park “Gornaya (Mountainous) Adygea”, a number of unique natural sites.

Khadzhokhsky Gorge, a canyon of the Belaya River, begins in the vicinity of Maikop. Near the canyon there are waterfalls of the Rufabgo stream.

In the mountain village of Guzeripl, on the territory of the Caucasus Nature Reserve, you can find one of the most famous dolmens, they can also be found on Bogatyrskaya glade. There are sites of ancient man, remains of fortresses, alpine gardens, and sources of mineral water “narzan”, which in Circassian means “drink of the gods (narts).”

Adygea is a great place to practice active tourism: hang gliding, caving, rafting, mountain climbing, rock climbing, hiking, canyoning.
