Captain: Karen Holton

Captain Karen Holtan – Karen is originally from Oregon and while growing up on a small farm watched Jacque Cousteau specials any chance she got. After becoming a SCUBA instructor, she started working full time on the water and worked her way up from deckhand/instructor to Captain. After 4 years on SCUBA vessels Karen then transferred to yachts and has had a chance to work from Canada to the Caribbean to Croatia. When not onboard helping guests, Karen loves to travel, take photos and get in the water anytime she can. First Mate/Engineer Avery Smith – Avery grew up in Charleston, South Carolina where he was never far from the water. He grew up fishing and hunting all over the Lowcountry. After graduating from Clemson University, he moved to South Florida to pursue his passion for the water professionally. He has spent the last three years working on an array of yachts and fishing boats all over the East Coast and Bahamas. Avery found that yachting combines his love for the outdoors with his interest in traveling the world. Chief Stewardess Savannah Moltzen – Savannah was born and raised in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina. While growing up near the ocean has given her a step forward in the yachting industry, she also enjoys exploring the world of everything arts, music, and travel. She loves being a part of a community that has a ton of that to offer, and it shows. After her time spent with the university of South Carolina she made her move into the yachting world in 2018. She brings the highest level of care and standards to all guests and her fellow crew, all while maintaining an energetic and well-mannered demeanor. In the future she plans on transferring her skills and success in yachting to becoming a successful AirBnB SuperHost. Deckhand/Stewardess Lauren Wilke – Lauren grew up in Blue Point, a small town on the south shore of Long Island. She grew up boating, sailing and being at the beach every summer. Volleyball has always been a huge part of her life and she was given the opportunity to advance her athletic and academic career at Stonehill College in Massachusetts. After graduating college with a degree in criminology, she worked at a vineyard on the east end of Long Island serving and learning about wine. She moved to Florida to enter the yachting industry and after only a handful of months she learned both roles of deck maintenance and interior knowledge. Yachting combines her passion for boating, traveling and meeting new people. Chef Jennifer Egli – After leaving the States to live full time in the Bahamas, Chef found the yachting industry and started working in it almost 10 years now. She started as an all-rounder mate/deck/stew cook. After a while she realized her happiest place was in the galley being creative and feeding everyone! She has lived in the Bahamas for 14 years now and has had the opportunity to travel extensively in this industry. She loves using locally sourced fresh ingredients as much as possible to prepare fresh and flavorful food for both guests and crew. Cooking has been a serious passion since she was little and now she gets to do it while living with her Bahamian husband in the islands she loves.

He grew up fishing and hunting all over the Lowcountry. After graduating from Clemson University, he moved to South Florida to pursue his passion for the water professionally. He has spent the last three years working on an array of yachts and fishing boats all over the East Coast and Bahamas. Avery found that yachting combines his love for the outdoors with his interest in traveling the world. <br /> <br /> Chief Stewardess Savannah Moltzen – Savannah was born and raised in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina. While growing up near the ocean has given her a step forward in the yachting industry, she also enjoys exploring the world of everything arts, music, and travel. She loves being a part of a community that has a ton of that to offer, and it shows. After her time spent with the university of South Carolina she made her move into the yachting world in 2018. She brings the highest level of care and standards to all guests and her fellow crew, all while maintaining an energetic and well-mannered demeanor. In the future she plans on transferring her skills and success in yachting to becoming a successful AirBnB SuperHost.<br /> <br /> Deckhand/Stewardess Lauren Wilke – Lauren grew up in Blue Point, a small town on the south shore of Long Island. She grew up boating, sailing and being at the beach every summer. Volleyball has always been a huge part of her life and she was given the opportunity to advance her athletic and academic career at Stonehill College in Massachusetts. After graduating college with a degree in criminology, she worked at a vineyard on the east end of Long Island serving and learning about wine. She moved to Florida to enter the yachting industry and after only a handful of months she learned both roles of deck maintenance and interior knowledge. Yachting combines her passion for boating, traveling and meeting new people.<br /> <br /> Chef Jennifer Egli – After leaving the States to live full time in the Bahamas, Chef found the yachting industry and started working in it almost 10 years now. She started as an all-rounder mate/deck/stew cook. After a while she realized her happiest place was in the galley being creative and feeding everyone! She has lived in the Bahamas for 14 years now and has had the opportunity to travel extensively in this industry. Avery found that yachting combined his love for the ocean with his interest in traveling the world. <br /> <br /> Chief Stewardess Alana De Jager – Alana is originally from South Africa, where she grew up in the small surf town of Jeffreys Bay. She moved to Cape Town with her twin sister to pursue their passion for garment construction and finished with a BA Degree in Fashion design back in 2014. After completing her BA Degree, she had a quest for travel and adventure. The motivation to live and work on the water came naturally and in 2015 Alana decided to pursue her career within the yachting industry. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). The 122’ (37.19m) Delta GALE WINDS is now for sale with Yacht Broker Kristen Klein. The luxury motor yacht is asking $6,300,000.

The 1996 tri-deck Delta yacht GALE WINDS boasts a distinguished American-built heritage. Following her 2021 refit, she boasts new side-power zero-speed stabilizers, upgraded Kohler 99kw generators and a modern interior characterized by bright colors and updated soft goods. Her fully enclosed aft deck ensures comfort whether cruising in warm climates or exploring cooler destinations.

Entering the main salon, guests are welcomed by a contemporary and stylish interior. The expansive windows flood the main salon and dining areas with natural light, enhancing the yacht’s open-plan layout that is perfect for social gatherings. The formal dining area, seating up to eight guests, invites delightful sit-down meals. Every aspect of her design reflects meticulous attention to detail, with top-tier finishes, furnishings and aesthetic accents throughout.

GALE WINDS accommodates eight guests in four luxurious staterooms. The full-beam owner’s suite, situated forward on the lower deck, features a king bed, a cozy sofa and a functional desk. The en-suite bathroom, adorned with white marble, has separate his-and-her entrances connected by a spacious shower. Additional guest accommodations include a VIP king cabin on the main deck, a king-size guest cabin and a queen-size guest cabin, each with its own private en-suite.

The skylounge serves as a vibrant social hub, complete with a bar, a TV and a pool table. Guests can step out onto the aft deck to find an alfresco entertainment area featuring a barbecue, outdoor dining setup, a Jacuzzi and comfortable loungers. The flybridge provides a large covered sunpad area, perfect for soaking up the sun while enjoying the view.

One of the standout features of GALE WINDS is the unique enclosed main deck aft, which extends the indoor living space while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding anchorage. This area includes two TVs facing separate tables and a centrally located bar, making it an excellent spot for entertaining. The seamless flow from the exterior to the main salon enhances the overall guest experience, offering both luxury and comfort on board.

The yacht's general design work came from Jack Sarin and Westport and Taylor Olson. The professional naval architect firm intellectual property are a products of Jack Sarin. Motor Yacht GALE WINDS received her elegant interior designing from the interior design firm of Westport Yachts. In 2006 she was actually launched with triumph in Westport Wa and post sea trials and detailing was thereafter delivered to the owner who commissioned her. Westport Shipyard completed their new build motor yacht in the United States. Her core hull was constructed with composite. The motor yacht superstructure is made largely from composite. With a beam of 7.13 metres or 23.9 ft GALE WINDS has reasonable internal space. She has a shallow draught of 1.68m (5.6ft).

GALE WINDS has twin ample MTU diesel engine(s) and can find a thrilling top end continuous speed of around 25 knots. The main engine of the yacht generates 2000 horse power (or 1492 kilowatts). Her total HP is 4000 HP and her total Kilowatts are 2984. Connected to her MTU engine(s) are twin screw propellers (michigan 5 blades). With respect to the ship’s stabalisers she was built with Naiad. As for bow thruster maneuverability she utilises Wesmar. The boat’s magnificent cruise speed is 22 knots which makes a range of 2500.
