• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

How Many Passengers Are Allowed?

Each yacht has a different limit when it comes to the number of passengers that are allowed onboard. In general, most of our yachts in Los Angeles tend to have a maximum of around 12 people. However, there are a few smaller or larger options that allow more or fewer people. 

Can We Bring More People Than We Planned?

If you unexpectedly end up wanting to bring more people than initially planned, it is sometimes possible for you to do so. Contact us, and we’ll make sure that it is alright. 

However, you can never bring more people than the yacht you have chosen will allow. So, if the limit is 12 and you already have 12 people coming, you won’t be able to bring any additional guests. 

What Safety Practices Are In Place?

Anchor has  numerous safety practices in place on every one of our rentals. The first has already been discussed, as our limit on the number of people helps keep everyone safe. Besides this, our captains are instructed to follow our policy of “safety first… fun second” and, thus, will constantly be on the lookout for anything that could threaten the safety of your group. 

What If the Weather Is Bad?

Our policy states that our yacht rentals will not be canceled based on the weather forecast. They can only be canceled by the captain if they deem that the weather presents a safety hazard. In most cases, this means simply waiting out a patch of bad weather in favor of some good weather afterward. 

However, if the weather does get bad enough to warrant a full cancellation, we can reschedule your rental. To do this, we’ll issue you a voucher that you can use to book a rental of the same or less cost within 365 days.

Comfortable clothes and layers! The temperature varies a lot even within a couple of hours on the water. Make sure to bring layers so you stay comfortable the entire trip. Additionally, we require shoes to be removed prior to boarding. This ensures the yachts remain in the best condition possible for future guests.

Yes, all our yachts come with a Bluetooth stereo so you can connect easily and play your own music for the atmosphere you’re looking to enjoy.

Yes, while we provide complimentary waters and sodas you are always welcome to bring your favorite food and drinks to enjoy while you’re out.

You will board the yacht at Dock 55. The above address will bring you to the parking lot. Once you are inside the parking go all the way to the right and you will see the Dock 55 boarding gate.

No, gratuity is not included. We recommend 15-20% for excellent service.

We understand not everyone has their sea-legs so if anyone tends to get motion sick or seasick, or if you aren’t sure, we recommend planning ahead and choosing a remedy you’re comfortable with before you board. A quick google search will help you understand the options; pills, patches, homeopathic, etc.

Your captain has full authority over the route and destination based on the conditions. While uncommon there are instances where weather and sea conditions may prevent the charter from sticking to the planned itinerary. If the weather or sea conditions are extreme, the captain will decide if it is unsafe to proceed and we will work with you to reschedule for another available day.

• Over 13-years Old: Life jackets are not required for guests older than 13-years. However, they are available for all guests and can be worn as an added safety precaution if you feel more comfortable… plus orange is stylish!

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Bella is examined by the US Coast Guard annually to ensure compliance and safety.

Pick Up/Drop Off Location:  Behind El Torito at 13715 Fiji Way, Marina Del Rey, CA  90292. (called Dock 55)  When facing the water, it’s located to the right of El Torito restaurant.

Can we bring our own food aboard?

Yes!  We have a fridge, freezer, ice maker, cooler and grill. 

Plenty of room for whatever you're looking to drink and snack on.

Can we bring alcohol aboard Bella?

It would be weird if you didn't. As long as guests are over 21, you are welcome to bring and drink whatever you like.

*Please no Red Wine or Cranberry juice. If you drink, do it responsibly*

Is Bella kid-friendly?

Absolutely, guests of all ages are welcome.

If anyone has a tendency to get motion sick or sea sick, please be sure to take something ahead of time.

Is Bella dog-friendly?

While we love our dogs, it is not appropriate to have them aboard.  Space is limited and they can shed a lot.

Out of respect to ALL guests, we ask that you leave your furry friend at home, ESA's included.

How many people can we have in our group?

12 Max.  1-6 guests for our Standard Contract or 7-12 guests for a Bare-Boat Contract. Captain and Crew do not count in the number of passengers. We're happy to help you with the details, please e-mail us [email protected]

Can we smoke aboard Bella?

NO.  Just below your seats are 350 gallons of diesel fuel, plus we want to keep the boat nice for a long time to come, and burn holes are hard to repair.  You can vape responsibly.

What about weed, man?

Since we will be on federal waters and marijuana is not federally legal, that's a big NO .  You can leave the drugs at home... you're going to have a great time without them.

Have a question before booking, cancellation  policy + damage.

Late Arrivals: The City controls Dock 55 for loading and unloading passengers. We have to arrange times in advance with a 15 minute time-slot with the city for our pick-ups and drop-offs. If you’re late it will count against your time.

Cancellation Policy:

Your deposit reserves the boat, a captain, a crew member and the county dock. 

If a charter is canceled within 7 days of the charter date or no cancellation received, the full deposit is forfeited by the client.  

Any cancellation greater than 7 days from the charter date will be subject to a $250 cancellation fee to cover expenses of pre-paying the county dock, the credit card transaction fee, committing to captain and crew member, and administrative fees. The balance will be returned to you within 7 days.

Feds say LA car rental lot was a 'crime tourism' hub that targeted Ventura County homes

In 2018, burglary crews started hitting homes in nice neighborhoods in and around Thousand Oaks.

When Ventura County sheriff’s investigators started digging, they found the cases had three things in common: The suspects they arrested were foreign nationals, mostly from Chile, in the United States on short-term tourist visas. They targeted homes that backed up to open space, breaking in through sliding glass doors. And they all drove cars rented from the same place, a lot in Pacoima called Driver Power Rental.

That was the start of a six-year investigation that culminated Wednesday morning with the arrest of six people, including a couple from Santa Clarita who owned Driver Power Rental and who authorities say masterminded a “crime tourism” network that stole at least $35 million in goods and cash from homes and businesses all over the United States.

The six suspects were indicted Aug. 1 by a federal grand jury, as was the car rental business itself. The indictment was unsealed Wednesday after they were arrested.

They face a total of 46 federal felony counts, including wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to transport stolen property across state lines. Each of the wire fraud and money-laundering counts carries a sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison, and the other counts carry smaller sentences.

A few hours after those arrests, top law enforcement officials from Ventura County stood alongside Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass at a news conference at the FBI’s offices on Wilshire Boulevard in West L.A., joined by police and prosecutors from Los Angeles and Orange counties and the top federal prosecutor and FBI official for the region.

Busting the theft ring, they said, will help make homes and businesses safer from a yearslong wave of burglaries.

“Neighborhoods have been terrorized and terrified at what has been happening,” Bass said. “This is a major step forward, and I hope it brings relief to our neighbors in the Los Angeles area and in Southern California.”

The chief defendants in the case are Juan Carlos Thola-Duran, 57, and his girlfriend, Ana Maria Arriagada, 41, who live together in the Canyon Country area of Santa Clarita.

Four other people were indicted and are accused of helping the couple run the theft ring: Thola's son, John Thola of Canoga Park; Patricia Enderton of Northridge; Miguel Angel Barajas of Northridge; and Federico Jorge Triebel IV of Woodland Hills.

The business Thola and Arriagada owned, Driver Power Rental, was “no ordinary car rental business,” said U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada, the chief federal prosecutor for the greater Los Angeles region. “This business catered only to crooks.”

Most of the thieves who patronized Driver Power Rental came from Chile, which is the only country in Latin America whose citizens can automatically get 90-day tourist visas to visit the United States, Estrada said. They always gave false identification to rent cars, and they often chose luxury models, to better blend in to affluent neighborhoods while they cased the homes and businesses they planned to rob.

Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko called the operation “in essence, the Hertz rental car business for thieves, furnishing them with cars that entered Ventura County for one purpose: to hit homes and steal from businesses.”

The business also operated at locations in Van Nuys under the names Car Deals and More and Enterprise LA Rental, according to the federal indictment.

As the investigation was getting underway in 2018, an undercover officer posed as a legitimate car rental customer and walked into Driver Power Rentals. The business refused to rent to him, the indictment states, “after learning that the customer had not been referred by someone in the conspiracy and that the customer had a valid driver’s license.”

A few years later, an informant working with the FBI visited the rental lot and was told by an employee that cars were $500 per week, and the business’ owners would buy gift cards for 75% of their retail value.

Prosecutors claim Thola and Arriagada did much more than provide getaway cars. They “acted as quarterbacks for a massive team of eager thieves,” Estrada said, directing people to travel all over the U.S. to steal cash, luxury handbags, jewelry, credit cards, gift cards and other goods, and then fencing the goods and paying the thieves a percentage of the profits.

In one case, thieves broke into a jewelry store in the San Francisco Bay area and stole more than $5 million worth of jewelry and watches, according to the indictment. They also broke into homes, usually when the homeowners were not around, and took cash and jewelry.

They stole credit cards from cars and purses and immediately took them to stores like Target and Best Buy to buy electronics, gift cards and other high-priced goods before the cards could be canceled, the indictment states. In one case, in 2021, they broke into a car parked at a trailhead in Newbury Park, stole credit cards and tried to use them to buy $1,600 worth of jewelry at The Oaks mall.

Stolen goods were handed off to the ringleaders and their associates or mailed to a FedEx store in Sherman Oaks, where Barajas would pick them up, the indictment states.

Prosecutors have identified at least 120 thefts connected to the group, though there could be many more, Estrada said. Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff said that 130 people in Ventura County alone have been arrested for crimes that fit the pattern, and "the vast majority" were driving cars from Driver Power Rental.

Most of the cases detailed in the indictment were in California, but there were also alleged thefts in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Missouri and Colorado.

The total value of the goods taken was at least $35 million, Estrada said. The indictment claims that Thola cleared about $5.5 million by selling the goods, including $5.1 million that he sent to bank accounts controlled by the other people arrested on Wednesday.

The indictment alleges Thola and the other defendants used the money to buy four properties in Los Angeles and Santa Clarita, along with cars and horses. Thola’s property in Canyon Country sits on the outskirts of town and appears to be across the street from a horse ranch.

Akil Davis, the assistant FBI director in charge of the Los Angeles field office, said the federal government is in the process of seizing “25 vehicles, several properties and possibly even some horses.”

Thola, Arriagada, Barajas and Enderton are also charged with defrauding the federal government by filing false applications to obtain about $275,000 in COVID-19 business relief loans. They wrote checks to their associates and passed them off as payroll expenses, and when their applications were denied, they immediately reapplied using different false information about their businesses, the indictment states.

The home break-ins in Ventura County were among the first crimes tied to Driver Power Rental. Fryhoff said that after his agency discovered the ties among their suspects, they alerted the FBI, and that led to the formation of the multi-agency regional task force that oversaw the case.

“These investigations usually target a spoke in a very large wheel. In this case, we targeted the entire wheel, and that is why an investigation like this takes many years,” said Davis, the leader of the region’s FBI presence.

“We have an amazing team,” Fryhoff said during the news conference. “This is what happens when nobody cares who takes credit for it.”

High heels can be worn on some boats. On large party boats with 30+ guests it should be fine. It is not practical on the smaller boats as you will be walking around on different levels and materials and it can be dangerous. A better solution would be a pretty flat, a fancy sandal, or a short mule if you must.

- A bareboat charter is a vessel that is leased by the owner to another person (a “charterer”) for a period of time without a captain or crew; - A bareboat charter is a vessel that is considered a recreational vessel and may not be subject to Passenger Vessel inspections by the United States Coast Guard; - Once the charterer takes possession of the vessel, the charterer becomes entirely responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel and its passengers; - The owner of the vessel is generally not responsible for any collision, personal injuries, and wages for the crew - The charterer is responsible for the vessel’s crew, fuel, insurance, any maintenance and repairs, and any liability associated with use and possession of the vessel; - The charterer must have the option of selecting and paying crew and may discharge the master or any crew member without referral to the owner; - The owner may require general levels of proficiency for the crew that is retained based on federal statutes; and - Charterers and passengers are solely responsible for making sure they understand and agree to the terms of any bareboat charter agreement.

Man refuses to climb down power pole, baffling Lake View Terrace neighborhood

LAKE VIEW TERRACE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A bizarre situation unfolded in a Lake View Terrace neighborhood when a man climbed up a power pole and refused to come down.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the area of Van Nuys Boulevard and Gladstone Avenue around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

It's unclear exactly what he was doing, but power was cut to the neighborhood and some people at the scene thought the man was trying to steal copper.

For long periods of time, the man appeared to be motionless.

After about an hour of trying to talk the man down, both police and fire crews left the scene.

The man eventually climbed down on his own and simply walked away. His exact intentions remain a mystery.

‘Latin Pop Princess’ Belinda Puts Her Stunning L.A. Home Up for Rent (for a Chart-Topping Price)

Mexican pop icon  Belinda  is giving her (wealthiest) fans the chance to live like musical royalty after putting her stunning Los Angeles mansion up for rent.

The singer, who is known as the “Latin Pop Princess,” purchased the veritable palace in 2019 for a cool $4.25 million.

And while it would appear Belinda—who was born Belinda Peregrín —is not ready to let go of the home once and for all, she is testing the waters with short- and long-term rental options.

But with such a regal abode comes a hefty price tag: $26,500 a month—and that’s for the longer-term leases.

Still, with 17 million Instagram fans to her name, as well as a slew of popular songs, Belinda, who was born in Spain but spent much of her life in Mexico City, will likely have no trouble finding an eager renter to take on the five-bedroom home, which even offers views of the Hollywood sign.
