Thank you for best week of my life. The boat performed perfectly. Out skipper Josko was just fantastic captain and great fun to have. He really made sure that we had the possibility to enjoy this week to the max. Very professional and good anticipation to weather conditions! I am very happy to have him as a skipper.
We had such a great week, despite two days of rain. This is why Croatia is so unique. There is always something to see and something to do. We couldn’t believe how romantic Croatian small towns are on the rain. The boat behaved very well, the food was exceptionally good in the konobas, and all the locals were friendly and helpful. Our skipper was very proffessional but also friendly, took us to the best places such as see some beautiful caves and bays, sea is so clear and clean.
Josko from Catamaran Charter Croatia was incredible to work with – truly an expert and so well connected in the area. The boats he works with are far superior to the majority we saw on the sea and the staff he has access to are incredible! From the service, the food, the knowledge on best places to avoid crowds and find the perfect cove to swim or the perfect locals restaurant really made the trip special. Croatia is a special place – a cleaner version of Italy with more hospitable people and tremendous food & wine. The towns, scenery, history, architecture were all incredible.

Stability and comfort of catamaran
Catamaran has two connected hulls for more stability. Though the principle on which a mono-hull and multihull sail is the same, the latter provides more stability, speed and comfort because of two hulls and two keels. When it comes to beam reach and downwind sailing, it sails faster than a mono-hull. A yacht is your perfect choice for a comfortable and easy going cruise for you, your friends and family. With 4 to 6 cabins that can accommodate 8 to 12 persons and a large main deck outside, catamaran will be the ideal choice.
Why rent a catamaran? If you like to sail, but also would love that extra space on board, catamaran charter Croatia is your best choice. We offer large selection of more than 600 different boats in all Adriatic sailing areas. With brands like Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, Nautitech, Bali and Catana Cats for rent, our fleet consists of brand new catamarans and well maintained older yachts with a good price.
Although these vessels are easier to maneuver in tight spaces thanks to their two engine setup, they are still much wider than regular monohulls, so they require special attention while in marinas. In general, these yachts are faster and more stable than regular sailboats, which is something that is appreciated by both families and professional sailors alike.
What I have to do to book a catamaran?
So, you need not plan big for a Croatia vacation or when you want to rent a catamaran, as rental prices are not exorbitant as they used to be. Catamaran Charter in Croatia
Croatia is one of the world's most popular sailing locations, bringing thousands of travellers each year who want to explore its magnificent coastline and secret bays. The crystal-clear seas, extensive cultural legacy, and magnificent natural beauty of Croatia are just a few of the factors that make it a popular destination for sailboat rentals. However, w ith evolving nautical tourism there is an increasing demand for catamaran charters in Croatia.
When it comes to vacations at sea or sailing holidays, getting access to the most modern, high-quality catamarans does make a big difference. That’s how the trip goes from special to extra special. If you’re planning a trip with your loved ones and wondering whether experiencing a catamaran charter in Croatia is the right decision for you, you’re in the right place.
First Things First - What is a Catamaran?
A catamaran is basically a boat with two hulls that are joined by a reinforced deck . If you are on a hunt for maximum space and comfort while sailing and relaxing on a charter yacht, you should give a catamaran some serious consideration. Catamarans offer an incredible amount of space on deck and in communal areas such as the saloon, galley and cockpit. All of these come with an amazing panoramic view of the surroundings. On a catamaran charter , you will find at least 4 cabins in the two hulls in most cases and they usually come with en-suite heads. This provides you with a private space when you want to have some alone time while the rest of the catamaran amazes you with numerous areas for socializing. Most of the charter catamarans even have a flybridge that is used for sailing and sunbathing and this just adds to the usable outside space. Of course, we should not leave out the forward deck or net which is certainly the favourite outdoor space on any catamaran.
Although the sailing principles are the same for both catamarans and monohulls, the catamaran is more stable and can also be faster.
Why should I charter a catamaran instead of a sailboat?
- They are more stable When sailing, catamarans usually don’t lean more than 5 degrees while with a monohull it can be close to 30 degrees. Keen sailors like the healing but it is not what everybody would enjoy. No healing certainly brings comfort and, needless to say, the fact that things are not falling off or over counters underway, which is an added bonus to multihull charter.
- Expanding Cruising Grounds Because of the shallow draft, you can anchor or cruise in regions few monohulls can even think of accessing.
- Space, Space, and Space You get space for walking and sunbathing on deck, space for lounging in the saloon and cockpit, extra deck room on the flybridge, room for storage and sufficient room in the cabins. In short, you get the space, space and space with a multihull Charter. On top of all, you can even think about travelling with 2 families, each staying in their own hull.
- 360-Degrees View Most catamarans have 360-degree views from the cockpit as well as the saloon. You can easily see what’s happening or what’s going on while underway, or at anchor. You can really enjoy scenes at all times - it’s a great enhancement from the claustrophobic monohull saloon.
- Catamarans Don’t Sink The rule of thumb for people who prefer catamarans is that if you have urgency at sea, then the best approach is to stay close to your catamaran. And if a catamaran is broken or flips in a very extreme case, the vessel will drift indefinitely. The reason is that most catamarans are built with closed-cell PVC foam that makes them float, irrespective of the situation.
- Catamarans Are Pretty Fast When you consider the catamaran yacht charter , the important thing to know is that not every catamaran is created equal. Some are designed with comfort in mind and so may have additional headroom and additional living space and facilities. On the other side, those designed for speed; usually have less room merely as the hulls are usually sleeker to acquire more speed. However, either way, the speed far outweighs the pace on a monohull - usually 20 to 30 per cent faster in comparison to a monohull of the same size, depending on the wind angle.
- Two Hulls Mean 2 Engines Most catamarans come with two engines, one in each hull. If one engine fails, you can always use the other one to get to your destination so that eliminates one worry. Two engines also make manoeuvring easy, letting one turn the catamaran almost on its own axis in tight places.
Tips for Sailing a Catamaran
- Since a catamaran has a big surface area exposed to the wind and since it has a low draft, the catamaran can easily drift while manoeuvring. Therefore, you should perform your mooring as quickly as possible, especially with the wind from the side.
- At low speeds, it is much easier to manoeuvre using the two engines rather than the steering wheel since the surface area of the rudders is rather small. You should have the steering wheel heading straight and use the two engine throttles to turn the catamaran.
- When you make a turn under sail, you should leave jour jib on the luff side while you are turning, to help you move the bow through the wind.

Charter Type: Crewed charters are generally more expensive due to the inclusion of professional staff, while bareboat charters are more economical as clients manage the catamaran themselves.
Catamaran Model: The make, model, and amenities of the catamaran impact the price. Luxury catamarans with high-end amenities and specifications command higher prices.
Duration and Season: The length of the charter and the time of year also play a significant role in determining the price. Peak seasons see higher demand and subsequently higher prices, while off-peak seasons offer more competitive rates.

Their communal indoor spaces are not isolated from what is happening outside so you can enjoy your surroundings while you are lounging in the saloon, preparing a meal in the galley or enjoying a glass of wine in the cockpit or on the flybridge. So, if you are looking for stability, comfort, space and speed for your ideal holiday at sea, then your perfect choice is a Catamaran charter without a doubt.

To check if you have the valid license, please download the list of valid licenses issued by Croatian Ministry of Sea .

What a totally amazing experience.
“Me and my family loved every minute!
Una cooked amazing food, was always on hand with a cold drink ready or a cup of tea/coffee in the morning! She was always happy and smiling, found us the best restaurants for the evenings and booked whatever we needed!
Antonio was our captain for this voyage and was equally brilliant, both were energetic and happy, they were part of our family for the full adventure!
They had great knowledge of where to go to avoid the crowds, secluded bays to wake up in and enjoy the morning peace! The children loved all the water toys and we swam in the best waters!
We were very sad to leave and cannot wait for next year to do it all again!
Thank you guys so much!”
John Singleton
I would recommend this venture to anyone..
“The crew was very accommodating and my family had a wonderful time. Croatia is beautiful and being in the sailboat allowed us to escape the crowds if we wanted. Chef Oona was delightful and her food was as good as any restaurant; she even played cards with the girls.
Thank you for the experience. “
Benjamin Bushnell
We had the most wonderful time on our catamaran with iven & una..
We stopped at the most peaceful & relaxing places to swim and were recommended the best places for our dinners. Breakfast & lunch made by Una were also incredible. We will never forget this experience.
Also catamaran sailing as a company were the best to work with. From day 1 of us booking they were so helpful and accommodating. Would recommend this experience with this company & our crew over and over.

What yacht charter are you looking for?
Croatia yacht charter.
Croatia has undergone a remarkable transformation into a luxury yacht charter destination over the last decade, and it does not seem to be slowing down!
With a growing infrastructure accommodating larger yachts (the above 150-foot fleet is increasing rapidly), competitive pricing, and a plethora of stunning islands in close proximity, it offers a compelling alternative to destinations like Greece.
A major plus for Croatia yacht charter is its favorable legislation, which allows for larger groups on charters (more than 12 guests), a rarity within the EU!!
Contact one of our expert brokers for the BEST Croatia yacht charter deals for Motor Yachts , Catamarans , and Sailing Yachts & Gulets , and itineraries touching famous locations like UNESCO World Heritage Site Dubrovnik, Hvar and Mljet, and Kornati National Park.

Croatia Yacht Charter Types
Crewed yacht charters in Croatia include, at minimum, a captain and at least 1 stewardess. On a larger motor yacht, the number of crew can be higher than the number of guests (including engineers, bosun, and additional stewardesses)

How much does a yacht charter in croatia cost.
The price of a Croatian yacht rental depends on several factors. There are the obvious ones, such as yacht charter type, size, crew size, and level of luxury , and then there are the less obvious ones, such as tax, APA, fuel (which varies a lot depending on the itinerary and engine fuel consumption), and crew gratuity .
This comprehensive guide breaks down the factors that affect yacht charter prices, typical price ranges, and the importance of understanding any hidden costs you should be aware of.
It also provides tips for budgeting your trip , ensuring you are fully informed and prepared for your charter.
TIP: Chartering during the high season (July and August) is more expensive than in the low season when you can find great deals . Booking in advance or looking for last-minute deals can also affect prices.
How Much Do Yacht Charters Really Cost? A Comprehensive Guide
Market trends 2024: croatia luxury yacht charter is on the rise.
- The Charter Fleet Continues to Grow: There’s a growing trend in Croatia towards diversifying the types of yachts available for charter. This includes everything from luxury yachts to sailing yachts, traditional gulets and catamarans, which cater to varying preferences and budgets.
- Becoming a Premier luxury yacht charter location: This transformation has been fueled by significant investments in infrastructure, services, and amenities tailored to the needs of luxury yacht charterers. We now have a Croatian coast full of luxury marinas offering berthing for large vessels! Check out our Luxury Yacht Charter Croatia
- Year-Round Tourism: Croatia is increasingly being marketed as a year-round destination, which helps stabilize demand across seasons – This opens great opportunities for finding great deals out of season!!
- No. 1 Destination for Large Group Charters: With increasing popularity in event charters, Croatia is becoming well recognized for being the best destination in Europe for large Group Charters – with no limits on guest capacities (in Greece, it is a 12 without a cruise ship license), and many yachts with huge capacity !!

Selecting the Right Crewed Yacht for Your Croatian Charter Vacation
There are quite a few factors to consider when looking for the right Crewed Yacht for your Croatian Yacht Charter Vacations. First and foremost, you have to consider your budget -Sailing yachts and catamarans tend to be significantly cheaper than motor yachts, especially when it comes to fuel consumption which plays a big role on a one-week Croatia yacht charter.
But you also have to pick the right yacht for your needs AND your itinerary; here, things like cruising speed, amenities, cabin layouts, and water toys matter.
Let’s take a closer look at the different yacht types and their advantages or…

Croatia Motor Yacht Charters
For those opting for ultimate luxury and speed , we always recommend chartering a Motor Yacht in Croatia. The Dalmatian Coast is home to Croatia’s largest marina, accommodating large motor yachts and superyachts with ease. Docking at Dalmacija Marina, among many of Croatia’s finest Yachts, is a remarkable experience in itself.
The Croatia Motor Yacht Charters in our catalogs are typically locally owned and often captained by the owner himself or the owner’s son. This is a huge benefit, guaranteeing a top charter experience based on extensive experience and local knowledge .
Top 10 Croatia Luxury Motor Yacht Charters 2024
Croatia catamaran charters.
There are several reasons for catamarans’ growing popularity in Croatia, one of which is their benefits in comfortable cruising. Catamarans are stable and graceful on the water and we therefore often recommend them for people who suffer from seasickness .
Their efficient design makes them noticeably faster than most sailing monohulls, and their shallow draft is a significant advantage, allowing for navigating in shallow waters and the option to anchor much closer to the beach.
A Catamaran Croatia also has the advantage of having roomy living quarters making them ideal for corporate team-building events, family charters, or a summer vacation with a group of friends.
Top 10 Croatia Catamaran Charters for Summer 2024/2025
Croatia sailing yacht charters.
If you wish to sail Croatia, you might consider a sailing yacht. Today, modern sailing yachts offer similar amenities to a motor yacht – except for the speed, which is lower, but so is the price! And, of course, it relies more on the wind, which can be both an advantage and a limitation. While motor sailors can achieve an average cruising speed of 15-20 knots , wind-powered sailboats usually cruise at 8-12 knots when the sailing conditions are good.
Croatia has small tides throughout the season—1-2 feet depending on the region, so the deeper draft of a sailing yacht is not an issue.
Based on our experience, large groups or families with kids often prefer the soundless and relaxing sailing experience in the Dalmatian islands.
Croatia Luxury Yacht Charters
When we talk about luxury yachts here, we refer to larger motor yachts or superyachts with high-end amenities and large crews, often with specialized staff such as fitness instructors, massage therapists, and more.
Think Jacuzzi , Spa rooms, Saunas, onboard Gyms and Cinema rooms, large selections of water toys with one or multiple jet skis , fully stocked bars and dancefloors, and we could go on.
Still, the price range within the luxury yacht Croatia category is quite wide, starting around €50,000 per week and reaching into the millions for a high-end mega yacht.
Croatia Large Group Charters (12-71 Guests)
If you’re looking for a yacht charter that can accommodate a large group ( more than 12 guests ), Croatia is the place for you!!
Croatia’s favorable legislation, which allows for larger groups on charters (more than 12 guests), is a rarity within the EU !! -i.e., Greece has a limit of 12 people per charter for all non-cruise ships. And this is the norm.
When it comes to large group yacht charters in Croatia, the options are plentiful. Most charters can accommodate between 12-20 people , but it’s not difficult to find a charter for 30 people, and there are even options for more. For instance, yachts like VARIETY VOYAGER can accommodate a whole 71 guests!

Louis was great from beginning to end and walked me through the whole process. He helped me find a great boat that fit within our time and cost preferences. He explained the differences between the different builds and the pros and cons. Once we selected the boat, he explained and walked me through the whole booking process and answered all my questions. Finally, he checked in with me before, during, and after the charter to make sure everything met our expectations. I can’t recommend Louis enough if you are planning a charter, and I will definitely be in touch for our next trip!

Catamaran rent
Catamaran rent in Croatia offers the best sailing experience in the beautiful Adriatic! A luxury charter vacation on board a crewed catamaran ensures smooth, stable cruising and access to some of the world’s most spectacular shallow waters. Charter a catamaran sailing boat!
WHY TO GO ON CHARTER VACATION IN CROATIA?
In recent years Croatia became one of the most popular destinations for people who want a bespoke experience in boat rental holidays, and that is not a coincidence. With more than 7000 boats available for charter, at the Adriatic sea there is plenty of choice to choose for everyone’s taste. Great nautical infrastructure like ports, marinas, restaurants with mooring buoys etc. provide great opportunities to explore different places.
Beautiful hidden anchorages, turquoise waters, untouched nature and magnificent dalmatian cuisine are only some of the many reasons why people go for catamaran sailing in Croatia. There are different sailing regions at the Adriatic which we will cover later, but all of them give you different experiences and impressions about the sailing, so we assure you that if you visit Croatia you will not regret it.
WHY IS A CATAMARAN THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOU?
Among many different types of boats like sailboats, motor yachts, gulets, mini cruisers and more, catamarans offer most for their given price. There are a lot of reasons why to choose a catamaran over other boat types, but here we will cover only some of them. The first and most important reason is space. Catamarans offer plenty of space, thanks to the wide beam cockpit area on a 40 ft long catamaran is comparable to a 60 ft motor boat. This allowed catamarans producers to put large dinning tables at the aft deck, lounge area and wide walkways all around the cockpit.
The width of side decks is a very important safety feature, unlike on most of the sailboats, they are completely flush without any obstacles like genoa travellers and more. This allows everyone, especially kids, to walk all around the boat without any worries of injuring their feet. On the fore deck, most catamarans are equipped with cushions or small cocktail area which is great place to enjoy warm summer sun of Adriatic sea. Also, large storage spaces located on bow deck should not be forgotten as they are a very important feature on a boat of any size. Very often they act as a generator or the water maker housing which is usually not possible on sailboats of similar size.
THE BEST ADVANTAGES OF CATAMARANS
The real advantage of catamarans is their interior space, with the saloon located on the main deck, it is more spacious than on any other vessel. All charter catamarans are equipped with a fully functional kitchen and indoor dinning table, which allows normal living on board for more than just a few days, even if it is raining outside. From each side of the saloon you can find stairs which lead to two separate sets of cabins, one in the left hull and one in the right hull. This feature is highly appreciated from groups of families which want to travel together but still want some privacy. “Owning” one hull gives you the felling like you are alone on board because you don’t see nor hear anything from the other side of the catamaran.
An advantage many guests appreciate about catamarans is comfort. Two hulls and a wide beam ensure better stability in bad weather and less rolling while sleeping on the anchor. Catamarans, unlike sailboats, do not lean that much while sailing with their main sail and genoa, resulting in much more relaxing traveling from bay to bay in beautiful Croatia. And last but not least, if has lower fuel consumption: two hulls generate less water drag than for example motor boats, which results in lower fuel costs and in average charter costs.

How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in Croatia?
A boat charter in Croatia is a great way to explore the beautiful Adriatic Sea. There are many different factors that affect the price of a charter, such as the type of boat, the length of the rental, and the number of people.
The type of boat is one of the most important factors in determining the price. Catamarans are typically more expensive to rent than other types of boats, but they offer a unique experience. Catamarans are stable and spacious, and they provide ample opportunity to enjoy the scenery and sunbathe on deck.
The length of the rental also affects the price. Rentals can be short-term, such as for a day or weekend, or long-term, such as for a week or month. Longer rentals will generally be more expensive than shorter ones.
Finally, the number of people staying on board also affects the price. A charter for two people will typically be less expensive than one for four people. Keep all these factors in mind when budgeting for your next boat rental in Croatia!
The harbors in Croatia
There are plenty of reasons to charter a catamaran in Croatia. The country has over 1,000 islands, meaning there are many sheltered coves and anchorages to explore. The coastline is also dotted with picturesque harbors and marinas, making it the perfect place to moor up and enjoy some time on dry land.
Here are some of the best harbors and marinas for chartering a catamaran in Croatia:
- Dubrovnik Old Town Harbor is located within the walls of the city's ancient fortifications. It's a beautiful setting, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby for when you want to come ashore.
- If you're looking for a modern marina with all the facilities, ACI Marina Dubrovnik is the place for you. It's situated just outside the city walls, so you can still enjoy all that Dubrovnik has to offer, but with the added bonus of a swimming pool, spa, and fitness center on-site.
- Split is another must-visit destination in Croatia, and Split Harbor is the perfect base for exploring the city and its surroundings. There are numerous restaurants and bars in the area, as well as a lively nightlife scene. The harbor is also close to some of Split's most popular attractions, such as Diocletian's Palace and Marjan Hill.
- Hvar Town Harbor is one of the busiest in Croatia, but it's still a great spot to moor up your catamaran. There's always something going on in this lively town, whether it's live music in one of the bars or simply people-watching from one of the cafés that line the harborfront.
- Vrboska Harbor is a lovely spot on the island of Hvar, away from the hustle and bustle of Hvar Town. It's a peaceful place to drop anchor and spend a few days exploring the island, with plenty of hiking trails starting from right by the harbor.
Renting a catamaran with or without a skipper
If you're considering renting a catamaran in Croatia, you may be wondering whether to go with a skipper or not. There are advantages and disadvantages to both options.
Renting with a skipper means that you'll have someone who knows the waters well and can help you navigate. You'll also have somebody on hand to help with any problems that may arise. On the other hand, it can be more expensive and you may not have as much freedom when it comes to choosing your itinerary.
Bareboat chartering gives you more freedom and flexibility, but it also means that you'll be responsible for navigation and any problems that come up. This option is typically less expensive, but it's important to make sure you're comfortable with the risks before you commit.
Ultimately, the decision of whether to rent with or without a skipper is up to you. Consider your budget, comfort level, and desired itinerary when making your decision.
When is the best time to go?
The high season runs from June to August which coincides with the sailing season (May to September), giving sailors plenty of vitamin D and swimming opportunities! Spring and Autumn feature cooler temperatures but the crowds are fewer so this is also a great time for your yacht charter. There are occasional showers with temperatures varying from 71°F to 82°F in the springtime, whereas the temperatures in summer can peak at86°F.
The wind force is generally 3-4 with a north-westerly direction in the summer.

Sailing on a catamaran in Croatia
Croatia is one of the most beautiful countries in the Mediterranean. Surrounded by over 1.000 magnificent islands, filled with secluded beaches and magical hidden coves, it is the perfect destination to discover by boat. Charter a catamaran in Croatia to ensure that you get to see everything from up close and not just from a distance. After all, you come to Croatia to admire the stunning natural beauty and the many architectural gems, not just to relax and sunbathe on deck your boat all day long.
The pros of renting a catamaran in Croatia
One of the many advantages of renting a catamaran in Croatia is the simple fact that catamarans have a shallow draft and no keel. This makes them the perfect boats to sail in shallow waters and close to the shore, meaning that you actually get to discover all the beautiful beaches along the Croatian coast. The most stunning beaches in the country include Nugal in Makarska Rivijera , which you can only reach by boat or hiking through a forest and Pasjača which is located between the most natural rock formations and takes a little bit of courage to reach if you decide to get there hiking through the Croatian countryside.
Another great thing about chartering a catamaran in Croatia is the fact that catamarans come with an engine as well as a sail. This makes catamarans one of the most flexible boats on the market. You can sail with the winds when they are strong enough, but can revert to using the motor should the wind suddenly stop blowing. This is perfect, because it means that you don’t need to worry about suddenly getting stuck in the middle of the sea.
Furthermore, catamarans are generally bigger than other types of boats, making them more spacious inside. You will feel much more comfortable sleeping here than in other boats - especially if you have a tendency to feel a bit claustrophobic quite quickly. This also comes down to catamarans standing on two hulls. This allows for more space, but also gives catamarans more stability. When the winds get rougher you won’t feel it as much as you would on other boats. Sure, you might hear the water beating underneath the boat, but it’s nothing compared to the shaking you would have to endure on another boat.
The cons of renting a catamaran in Croatia
One of the downsides of renting a catamaran in Croatia can be their size. While you might feel extremely blessed with all the extra space you have on board, it might also be a curse when it comes to finding a spot for mooring. As catamarans are often bigger than other boats, you might not be able to find a spot for mooring at the marinas - especially during the busy summer months - and if you are lucky enough to find a spot, navigating your yacht there might come with many challenges. Also, keep in mind that you might have to pay extra for a bigger mooring spot.
The most popular catamarans to rent in Croatia
