Swim at Moriches Yacht Club

The moriches yacht club offers swimming lessons for both members and non-members every summer.

We offer swimming lessons to help children learn the fundamental skills of swimming while enjoying and appreciating pool safety.

Our program is run by American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors who focus on teaching children how to be safe in and around the water. Our classes help swimmers become comfortable in the water while learning and refining new strokes, working towards becoming strong, confident swimmers. For our youngest students, we incorporate singing and toys into their lessons, and our older students enjoy diving and using the waterslide. At Moriches Yacht Club, the goal is to not only learn to swim, but to have fun while doing it.

We run 3 sessions per summer and each session is 2 weeks long.

• Session 1: June 26-July 7 (No swimming on the 4th)
• Session 2: July 10- July 21
• Session 3: July 24-July Aug 4

Classes are Monday through Friday for 30 minutes each day, and class times are determined by level.

In order to be eligible to enroll, swimmers must be at least 3 years of age and potty trained.

Hey guys... Thinking about slipping my boat here. Anyone have comments on it? Have not spoke to them yet. Any insight to slip prices? This post edited by FishMonger 05:40 PM 12/15/2012  

I was there many years. A decent place for summer slip. During winter storage expect to find muddy footprints on your boat and maybe a couple missing items, especially ropes that you will recognize the hired help using. It happens. Ask me how I know (lol). A better scenario is summer slip and haul home for the winter, which I did wind up doing my last few years there before locating a better place and more sheltered to keep the boat in summer. Center Yacht is fully exposed to Forge River though, so you catch all the boat wakes there. Also there are a lot of boats there, more than they can handle for short haul when a hurricane is on the way. They turned me away last year when I was looking for short haul for Irene. Do have a backup plan for short haul in case it is needed. Also some of the slips put 2 boats in 1 spot with no pole inbetween. Causes big problems on windy days, was a bad idea who ever thought that one up. I do not know if they corrected that or not. No place is 100% perfect. On the other hand, the floating docks and finger slips are a big plus. If you launch a late you may be able to get a small discount on the price. They never fill to capacity. Never. Very nice people! I would try Sweezys Harts Cove Marina in East Moriches . Dori and John are the nicest people you would ever meet 631-878-2600  

the floating docks are nice but you need them with all the wave action. senix is alot more protected during storms and has some good guys there and you won t have boats driving by on plane. pretty sure all these marina s are around 100 per foot. been at senix for 13-14 seasons now and i wouldn t go anywhere else in moriches.  

I have been in both center and senix and both are good marinas.senix is better protected but You also have a 10 minute no wake ride in and out.I preferred center for there floating docks and partial fingers because I have outboards on an express style boat. At senix most guys go bow in with outboards and it can be a hastle loading and unloading gear and passengers.Also the mechanic Jason and center is a good guy and honest.I never used the guy at senix.

Yeah that long no wake ride is what killed it for me not going to Senix. I would have dealt with the bow in deal to have gas AND bait right there.  

i always look at that ride down the creek as warm up for the engines.

A very well run marina. The grounds are alway kept well groomed and the slips and docks well maintained.The staff are very freindly and very helpful. An excellent on site mechanic. Travel lift and forklift services always available . Slip costs and winter storage rates are very reasonable.
