    Marsden Yacht Club was founded in 1974 and sailed at Marsden Point. The club grew, and Whangarei District Council land was secured by lease and the Clubrooms at One Tree Point were opened in 1992. The clubrooms were predominantly built with voluntary labour provided by Club members. The change to the current name came in 1994, to give power boat owners in the area a club focus.

    The Marsden Yacht and Boat Club welcomes new members at any time of the year. Our membership year starts on October 1st and runs through to September 30th of the following year. Membership fees are adjusted for new members joining after January 31st. Ownership of a boat is not a requirement for membership.
