Unlike most yacht charter and management companies, our family business includes our own shipyard in Turkey. We have built and refit projects up to 46 meters in both wood and steel – including some of the Turkish gulets that we offer for charter. Our naval architects, project managers and post construction management team can handle every phase of a shipbuilding project in house – saving both time and money in the construction process. CETIN YUCEULUG

Cetin’s love for the seas began during a voyage from Istanbul to New York on board the vessel Tarsus in 1951. His professional career included 30 years at Unilever where he was responsible for 150 countries and 12,000 employees as Business Group President of Diversey Lever before retiring in 2002. Cetin set up Serenity with his two sons in 2005 with the goal of pursuing his passion for quality and the seas.

MURAT YUCEULUG

Murat’s interest in boating began at an early age. He pursued his interest along academic lines and completed his Master in Naval Architecture at the University of Southampton. His professional career began at Vripack in The Netherlands before he returned to Turkey to take up his role at Serenity as head of design and project management.

ALI YUCEULUG

Ali completed his undergraduate degree in finance at Bentley University in Boston in 2001 and began his career in the tourism sector in 2003. With a passion for yachts and hospitality and a strengthening experience as a crew member on board charter yachts, he now heads the yacht & charter management side of the business.

YIGIT BOSTANCIOGLU

Yigit joined the Serenity team in 2015. His background in information technology and years of experience as event coordinator had given him the necessary tools and mindset to be the ideal candidate to head operations and business development.

Yacht Charter Sailing Holidays in Turkey

Sunny skies, warm turquoise waters, cooling breezes, deserted anchorages and tranquil bays are what you'll find as you sail the southern coast of Turkey. Combined with the warmth and sincerity of the people, spectacular scenery, and fascinating ruins from previous civilisations and delicious food - who could ask for more!

Sail where Europe meets Asia...

Turkey occupies a geological and cultural bridge, between Europe and Asia, where East meets the West. You will be truly surprised by the warm welcome and friendship shown by the local people.

Wherever you're sailing in Turkey, particularly along the Southern coast, you will always find exciting places to explore. The Turkish coast is ideal for cruising and it stretches from the Peninsula of Callipolis down to Antalya. Due to the formation of the coast line, with a large number of bays, peninsulas and inlets, it is deceiving in its length - almost 1,000 miles long.

Places to sail from in Turkey

Starting from Marmaris, Gocek or Fethiye, you will discover and enjoy the charm of beautiful bays, quiet coves and sheltered anchorages. Along the coast, there are literally acres of ancient ruins from the proto-Greek period to the Byzantine period. Do not miss historical tours ashore, visiting Caunus, Ephesus, Pergamos, Kas.

The ancient ruins of Asia are amongst the most picturesque in the Mediterranean. In addition, Turkish food is reputedly one of the great cuisines of the world. Restaurants offer amazing selections of delicious starters, known as mezes. Main dishes include freshly caught seafood, shish kebabs, köfte (spicy meatballs) as well as vegetarian dishes.

Turkey isn't so bazaar...

Shopping is an interesting and enjoyable experience, especially in the bazaars and markets. The variety of crafts, ranging from carpets, jewellery, leather goods to ceramics is immense and prices are reasonable.

You may be invited to drink tea as you discuss purchases. If prices are not displayed, feel free to bargain! Although in recent years Turkey has become a very popular tourist destination, development has been confined to larger, purpose built resorts. The majority of the country remains unspoilt.

What's the weather like?

Turkey is warmer than many of our other sailing destinations which allows for a longer season. May, June and September and October are perfect times to visit. July and August can get rather warm - a little too toasty for some!

The wind tends to be from the N-NW 2-4 which is great for those looking to take it fairly easy.

The Turkish coastline has excellent sailing conditions and weather. The best time to sail in Turkey is from April till the end of November . Weather is perfect and conditions are very favourable for long and relaxing sailing days.

The sun shines for more than 300 days a year in the seas around Turkey, so you will soak up plenty of sun on your rental yacht. Aegean and Mediterranean regions in Turkey have Mediterranean climate. These areas have a sailing season that lasts a bit longer than in other European destinations.

The peak yacht charter season and the hottest months are July and August. These months have very little rain, and the sailing conditions are excellent. The temperatures range between 28 and 35 °C. Preseason and postseason months are also a good sailing choice if you prefer fewer boats, but still warm and beautiful weather.

It is always advisable to read up on the winds specific for the sailing region you are about to visit. The two most recognizable winds you will feel when sailing in Turkey are meltemi and lodos . The Meltemi are hot and dry northerly winds that blow in the Aegean from mid-May to mid-September. The winds can arrive without warning and persist for days, even though they often swell in the afternoon and die down each night. These winds usually provide good and steady sailing for the region. However, be aware that they can be quite severe for short periods. The meltemi are the strongest in July and August. The other winds specific for Turkey's most important sailing region are called lodos , which are also fierce winds that blow from the southwest . Lodos occur in autumn and winter and bring waves. They are at their strongest in the afternoon and often die down at night but can sometimes last for days without a break.

During the yacht charter season, there is little rain, low humidity, and temperatures hovering into the mid-80s during the peak months.

How Much Does It Cost to Charter a Yacht in Turkey

Costs for crewed charters in Turkey vary widely, based on the size of the yacht and the time of your charter. There is no VAT tax in Turkey, which reduces costs on yacht charters. What Is a Turkish Gulet
