Fort Lauderdale is one and a half hours away. Take the Florida Turnpike south and follow the directions from Miami Interna- tional. Miami International Airport is one hour away. From the Miami Airport take 836 west to the Florida Turnpike south all the way until the end, leaving you on US 1 southbound in Florida City/ Homestead. Continue south on US 1 to Mile Marker 107.8. Take Yacht Club Drive on the right from the middle of the bridge go to the stop sign and make a right. The resort is a five story building on the right as you are crossing the span bridge.

So I stayed here recently and the location is OK and the view is amazing but the actual room... it's a good size there's a full-size kitchen, the bathroom is kind of small, the bed was Uber uncomfortable I could barely sleep on it, and he could use a little better cleaning not that it wasn't clean but it could be done better. Overall I mean you pay for what you get right?

I am only reviewing the boat ramp that is available at this location. Are used the boat ramp three days ago, and got a gigantic hole in my tire on my truck. The tire had to be replaced at a cost of over $200. It was less than one-year-old. It looks like a piece of rebar went through it. I will never go back to use their boat ramp and pay $20 so that I can replace a $200 tire.

This is a great location. The views are spectacular. Friendly service and huge rooms. Fully stocked kitchen. Private balcony. Guard at night and gated entry. I am thrilled. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Could be more modern yes but that is part of the keys charm. Spotlessly clean. You can dock your boats as well.

Stay here saturday february 4/17 . After being driving back and forth looking for the hotel we finally found it. No receptionist available to pick up the phone and help with directions. Since the hotel is located underneath a 10 miles bridge totally a night mare.We received the room key from the security person . Inside the room it was a strong mildew smell mixed with cigarette, So we open the balcony door right away And find out that it was a very laughing party going on across. we and the children's couldn't sleep all night since the bar had a live band playing. And was open almost all night.Also the room didn't look as it was described To me . and the children couldn't sleep due the weird smell inside the room and the DAWn music.This is not a good place for families And Not Good PLACE For childrens at all.

I was very excited about this trip. The rooms are decent. The bathroom is VERY small. The elevator was broken during our trip and they offered no extra service for what we had to put up with. We were on the fourth floor and had to lug our coolers and all of our boating/diving equipment up the stairs every time we went out...for a week. Additionally, we paid WAY TOO MUCH for boating and dock fees. I would have been fine with the dock fees if we didn't have to carry all of our belongings up and down the stairs for six days. Overall, I would not stay here again. Gilbert's is right across the way and they're cheaper.

Do me a favor and stay away from this place. Trust me. They boost prices. We paid a set price every weekend for a month then they doubled it without notice. Go on to largo for your business. There are people there that are not wiling to rip you OFF. nooooooooooo thank you. The boat ramp fee almost doubled from one day to the next. I will pass.

we stayed here, after having our plans were cancelled due to the weather, we couldn't cancel our reservations, which I understand. however, for paying over $200 for one single night -- I'd expect actual service. The owner told us as we checked in to make sure we go over the checkout list. We thought nothing of it, we got up to the room and perused the list. It included stripping the linens, ensuring the towels and such were all in the dirty hamper, take out the trash, wipe the place down, do the dishes we may have used, and basically perform our own housekeeping services. I'm sorry but for THAT amount of money -- that is unacceptable.

We stayed at the marina on our sailboat. Clean showers, nice pool, jacuzzi, laundry, bbq grills, tennis & shuffleboard. Office staff extremely friendly and helpful. Members of Boat US receive discount. Small marina. Loved it!

This place is crap. I'm only giving it an extra star because the view standing out on the balcony is beautiful. The whole place was filthy from the rooms to the check in lobby down stairs.. There was hair in the shower.. Nasty. I also couldn't walk around barefoot because the floors were so filthy. You could definitely find a cleaner, nicer place for the same price.

Looking over the Florida Bay from each unit's screened balcony at Anchorage Resort & Yacht Club it is easy to let troubles melt away. Guests will want to take part in the abundant water sports activities. Right outside the door is boating, fishing, and tennis. Between outdoor activities or local water sports, relax on the resort's sun deck and take a few dips in the pool with deck. Then back to more fun above and under the beautiful azure waters of Key Largo. Also on site are many court games, tennis, pickle ball, badminton, shuffleboard, and basketball.

Destination Highlights

Key Largo is home to the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park which is 6 miles away, the first undersea park established in the US. The diving is great here, as it is at nearby Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and throughout the Keys. If visitors choose to stay above the water, the boating in this area is a true pleasure. Nearby is the Dolphin Research Center, and Robbie's Marina where visitors can swim with dolphins and feed the tarpons and pelicans. For the true nature lover, Everglades National Park is a short drive away. Great seafood abounds in local restaurants and the shops are rich with unique gift items. Also within 1 mile you have Dagny Robinson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

Fort Lauderdale is one and a half hours away. Take the Florida Turnpike south and follow the directions from Miami Interna- tional. Miami International Airport is one hour away. From the Miami Airport take 836 west to the Florida Turnpike south all the way until the end, leaving you on US 1 southbound in Florida City/ Homestead. Continue south on US 1 to Mile Marker 107.8. Take Yacht Club Drive on the right from the middle of the bridge go to the stop sign and make a right. The resort is a five story building on the right as you are crossing the span bridge.

For years, this iconic resort has drawn seafarers from around the globe, offering a serene escape amidst the sparkling waters of the Caribbean.

While the term “bitter end” often refers to the final part of a rope or chain, the phrase can also signify reaching the farthest point or the end destination of a long or difficult journey. The founders of the Bitter End Yacht Club chose this name to reflect both its geographical location and the spirit of adventure and perseverance inherent to sailors. For those who navigate to this end-of-the-line point, the BEYC stands as a haven where their journey culminates in beauty and tranquility. And, for many, it has long stood as a cherished traditional stop when exploring the waters of the BVI.

A Legendary Past, a Devastating Blow

In more recent years, the Bitter End’s name has embodied not only a physical destination but also a symbolic one. The iconic BEYC experienced a devastating blow in September 2017 when Hurricane Irma, one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes in history, wreaked havoc on the Caribbean, leaving the Bitter End Yacht Club in ruins. The devastation was profound, with buildings flattened, boats destroyed, and the once-thriving resort reduced to rubble.

While many Bitter End enthusiasts were devastated to hear of the destruction Hurricane Irma left in her wake, the iconic Bitter End Yacht Club kept its loyal fans updated via its website , detailing both the damage and community efforts to rebuild this beloved BVI institution.

Rising from the Ashes

Having now been rebuilt and risen from the devastation of Hurricane Irma, the Bitter End’s name resonates even more with the idea of enduring and overcoming challenges – much like the sailors who venture to the farthest reaches to get there.

After the storm, the Bitter End Yacht Club faced a long and arduous journey to recovery. But the spirit of resilience and determination among its community never wavered. Additionally, the guide includes a free, fold-out color 27” x 17” planning chart covering the British and U.S. Virgin Islands. 

THE VIRGIN ISLANDS WATERPROOF CHART

Printed on two sides this new chart includes the U.S. & B.V.I. from St. Thomas to Anegada, including anchorage and mooring locations as well as GPS coordinates, sailing routes and distances between waypoints. Excellent for the cockpit and attractive enough to hang on the wall when you get home.

This planning chart is a duplicate of the one you receive in the guide with the exception of being waterproof.
