On 21 March, 2023, the Regulation on the Maritime Navigation Planning was published in the Spanish Official State Gazette, introducing important measures, among which the following should be highlighted: 1) Simplified 'charter licence'. A simplified clearance regime has been established to assist charter yachts operating in Spain.
Legal requirements for chartering in Spain
Only EU-flagged yachts may be chartered in Spain. For the purpose of obtaining a charter licence, it seems that the Spanish authorities are prepared to consider the Isle of Man as part of UK, but this does not apply to other British flag states. A yacht on charter may not carry more than 12 people, excluding the crew.

The 33 metre sailing yacht ANNAGINE is to get her Spanish Charter Licence, allowing her to take charters in the Balearics from July. Built in 2011 by Dutch shipyard Jacht Ontwikkelings, ANNAGINE was constructed by the shipyard's owner who began the company back in 2004 when he built a yacht of the same name.
