"Boating! Live!" is the motto of the premiere of the Hamburg Yacht Festival - the new In-Water Boat Show, which finally closes the gap in the range of events for water sports enthusiasts on the Elbe and North Sea that was left after the last hanseboot (2017) and the early cancellation of the successor trade fair organised by the German Boat and Shipbuilders' Association Hamburg Boat Show after only two issues.
The motto of the event could not be more fitting. Because the first Hamburg Yacht Festival in Germany's largest marina is much more than just a floating boat show. It is a meeting place for boaters on the Elbe, North Sea and beyond who want to talk shop and exchange ideas with their peers, seek advice, be inspired, further their education or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the Hamburg marina in Wedel.
Multi-event on the Elbe
Thanks to numerous parallel events the programme of the Hamburg Yacht Festival gains in diversity: On the area of the Hamburg Marina Community e.V. this weekend, the traditional Wedel Marina festival with its popular maritime flea market (Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hall 4), the extremely informative and instructive "Safety Days" of the Clubs of the cruiser division (CKA), the "Days of sailing" of the German Sailing Association (DSV), garnished with a "Food Court" (food and drink), Fun & games programme for kids and Harbour parties in the evening. On Friday, from 10 p.m. (with admission), young people will also be able to enjoy the "Bronx retirement party" . On Saturday evening from 8 pm the "JustForFun hit band" and special guest "Sailor Schönfeld and the life jackets" on the stage in Hall 2 (admission free of charge).

Important meeting point and marketplace for boaters in Hamburg
"With the Hamburg Yacht Festival, we are organising a major festival for boating on the Elbe for the first time. Following the cancellation of hanseboot, we want to re-establish an important meeting point and marketplace for boaters in Hamburg, on the Elbe and the North Sea in the coming years with the new event at the Hamburg Yacht Harbour in Wedel," says Heiko Zimmermann, with his Yachtfestival365 GmbH organiser and "architect" of the event. "In addition to this year's small but excellent In-Water Boat Show with well-known boat brands, around 50 well-known equipment and accessory suppliers will be presenting their products and services in Hall 2."
The "still small but fine In-Water Boat Show" will be showing boat brands such as Jeanneau, Dehler, Tide, Elling, Drago, Delphia, Karnic, Zar, Sterk, Grand, Candela, Quicksilver and Tidemann on two exhibition piers (A and B, see site plan above). With the Drago 750 is even a Motorboat world premiere on the water at the start. Two stages, one water event area
A large supporting programme with two stages and activities on the water rounds off the day's activities from 8 to 10 September. Taster sailing for children and adults, for example, is offered by the DSV. The Trend sport e-surfing can be marvelled at (show rides) and tried out (test rides) on the water event area. Exhibitor Mo-Jet makes it possible. The indoor and outdoor stages are platforms for passing on expertise and teaching seamanship, and experts will be on hand to answer questions. This is how the Club of the cruiser department with the "Safety Days" The topic of "Safety on the water" is written on the stander. Exciting and useful presentations are aimed equally at motorboat drivers and sailors, beginners and experienced leisure captains. Everyone can put together their own individual programme of lectures and activities from the overall programme.

- Bus shuttle: The departure times of the shuttle are linked to the arrival of the S-Bahn line 1 at Wedel railway station. The shuttle departs every 40 minutes directly from the bus station opposite from Friday to Sunday between 10 am and 6.30 pm. Stops & boarding options: Bus station Wedel (opposite the S-Bahn) - car park Festplatz - car park U-Bootsteich - Hamburger Yachthafen in Wedel and back again. A single journey costs 2 euros, return journey 4 euros. Children up to the age of 14 travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

The festival is organized by the agency Yachtfestival365, which is also responsible for Germany's largest in-water boat festival, the ancora YACHTFESTIVAL in Neustadt in Holstein.
Visitors can look forward to impressive boats and yachts moored at the Hamburg Yacht Harbor. Exhibitors showcase a premium selection of equipment and services in pagoda tents. Additionally, the festival features a diverse stage and activity program centered around boating, including exciting lectures, workshops, and spectacular performances.
The HAMBURG BOAT SHOW coincides with the large harbor festival organized by numerous clubs at the Hamburg Yacht Harbor. Concurrently, the Sailing Days of the German Sailing Association and the Safety Days of the Cruiser Division Club take place.
A special highlight is the large maritime flea market, where visitors can rummage for treasures and discover unique maritime souvenirs.

Hamburg Yacht Festival : Over 9,000 visitors celebrate a festival for boating

A mixture of information and entertainment, plus three days of sunshine, good-humoured exhibitors and numerous visitors. The Hamburg Yacht Festival from 6 to 8 September was a successful end to the season for visitors interested in water sports.
Many of the guests came directly by sailboat or motorboat. The In-Water Boat Show attracted them, as did the 90 or so programme items on the two stages and on the water. The party went on late into the night on both evenings.

On Friday morning, Julia Fisauli-Aalto, the second mayor of the city of Wedel, opened the event in the Hamburg Yacht Harbour with a signal from the ship's horn. In her opening speech, she emphasised the importance of the Hamburg Yacht Festival for the city of Wedel and the maritime leisure industry on the Elbe.
60 exhibitors at the Hamburg Yacht Festival
The 60 exhibitors around Hall 2 and on Pier B were satisfied. Not only was advice given, but sales were also made. Visitors spent many hours on the jetties in the eastern harbour admiring the boats or even enjoying a test drive on the Elbe.
Whether for children or adults interested in sailing, the taster sailing, RC sailing or motor boating for kids offered something for everyone. The "Yacht Festival Cup" on the Elbe could not take place due to the lack of wind, but the youngsters showed off their light wind skills at the Yacht Harbour Opti Cup in the harbour.
The expert presentations on the topic of "Safety at sea" on the stage in the harbour apron met with great interest from both motorboat drivers and sailors. Many products changed hands at the maritime flea market in Hall 4 on Saturday.

The Hamburg Yacht Festival was rounded off with delicious food and drink at the food court and the evening parties in Hall 2: on Friday at "Wedel tanzt" with DJ Robert'o and DJ Georg Rehn, on Saturday around 1200 people sang at "Wedel singt". At the marina party afterwards, the "JustForFun-Hitband" provided the musical entertainment.
Summary of the second edition of the Hamburg Yacht Festival
Heiko Zimmermann, Managing Director of Yachtfestival 365 GmbH, commented on this year's edition as follows: "Our concept of celebrating a festival for boating in Hamburg's marina is working." An event is being established that is becoming a fixed date in the year for everyone involved.
Next year, the Hamburg Yacht Festival will take place for the third time. The aim is for as many visitors as possible to find their way to the Hamburg Yacht Harbour in Wedel at the beginning of September.

Azimut|Benetti and Volvo Penta unveiled the world's first yacht boasting a combination of Volvo Penta with hybrid power. The new Azimut Seadeck 7 piloted Volvo Penta's helm-to-propeller hybrid-electric package for the first collaboration with Azimut.
The Seadeck 7, using hybrid-electric technology, can cruise in pure electric mode up to 11 knots and can stay at anchor with zero emissions for up to 12 hours. It marks a unique milestone as the first time a yacht will use diesel engines, electric motors, and batteries paired with the efficiency of Volvo Penta IPS drives , operating in hybrid mode without use of a generator.
"When it comes to reducing CO2 emissions, our approach is aimed at generating tangible results now, also by developing new solutions that we are already implementing at a prototype stage," notes Giovanna Vitelli, Chair of Azimut|Benetti Group.
Vitelli further explains that, "The Volvo Penta hybrid-electric package installed on the Seadeck 7 has a mode of use similar to that of cars, meaning that it shifts from electric to diesel based on speed." That ensures the yacht is easy to use, consumes less fuel, emits less CO2, and improves the on board experience for guests. "Everything is in place to change the rules of the game,"Vitelli concludes.
Additional features of the Seadeck 7, displayed at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 10-15, include joystick docking, joystick steering, dynamic positioning system, and a glass cockpit system with hybrid-electric driver interface view displaying important data.

Successful launch: In Hamburg's marina in Wedel, a new In-Water Boat Show was heralded - or more precisely "toothed" - at 10 a.m. on Friday. A new meeting place for the boating scene on the Elbe and North Sea with numerous parallel events and a multi-faceted supporting program. The Hamburg Yacht Festival runs until Sunday evening. A trip there is worthwhile - for the boating community and everyone who wants to experience its flair live.

The Habitat Festival takes place annually in Wilhelmsburg. Visitors can look forward to two days of electro and techno beats, goa, drum and bass and much more.
Hamburg’s Habitat Festival takes place annually on the grounds of the MS Artville on the island of Wilhelmsburg in the Elbe River. Until recently, the festival took place Hohenlockstedt, but in 2022 the festival moved to its new island home and over 8,000 visitors danced and celebrated for 32 hours in the south of Wilhelmsburg.
Habitat has joined the ranks of other alternative festivals that call Wilhelmsburg home, such as the Vogelball and the Spektrum Festival .
