Australia Is The Next Big Thing In Superyachts

Australia Is The Next Big Thing In Superyachts

Superyachts typically split their time between the Caribbean and the Mediterranean . But as the industry grows, Australia is pushing hard to become “that third spot,” says Greg Newby, director of Superyacht Crew Academy.

There have been seismic shifts in the superyacht industry over the last 20 years. The “wild west” days are winding down, the demographic is changing and more remote places are being explored. But while we have previously reported on superyachts flocking for the first time to Turkey , Greenland, the Baltic and Antarctica, there is another tasty hub that has been staring us in the face the whole time: Australia.

To understand this burgeoning new trend, DMARGE spoke to Greg Newby, who has worked on superyachts for more than 15 years, and who is the director of Superyacht Crew Academy , a training organisation for aspiring superyacht workers in Australia.

Mr Newby told DMARGE that “Australia is pushing hard” to make itself a more attractive destination for superyachts, so that it can “become that third spot” for superyachting (beyond the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, the two summer destinations most superyachts currently split their time between).

“Queensland are doing an incredible job at the moment,” Mr Newsby told DMARGE. “The infrastructure is amazing and it’s just such a perfect destination for yachts with The Great Barrier Reef on the doorstep.”

“The Queensland government has a superyacht initiative to become a superyacht hub over the next ten years, especially before the Olympics.”

“The world’s getting smaller. Australia seemed like it was just too far away but now with all the stops and infrastructure through the pacific, yachts are island hopping across and spending time in Australia doing refits and actually cruising.” Greg Newby

Mr Newby told us the main attractions for superyachts in Australia at the moment are the Great Barrier Reef as well as “around the top through the Kimberly and down the west coast of Australia [think: Ningaloo]. It’s becoming a much bigger destination.”

There are also cities dotted up and down the east coast, for both the party and the ‘chiller’ superyacht demographics (from Noosa and Byron Bay to the Gold Coast and Sydney) to enjoy themselves.

Mr Newby also told DMARGE he has heard rumours significant funding could be on its way for West Australia’s superyacht industry: “I think the West Australian government will announce about 10 billion dollars towards superyacht infrastructure.”

What is superyacht infrastructure? It’s things like marinas and berths. As Mr Newby told us: “The Gold Coast just recently opened 160m berths, which they can get superyachts into.” Superyacht infrastructure also comprises equipping marinas with the capability to power these “massive beasts,” Mr Newby said.

“It’s giving them the ability to come here and not stress about anything really. There are thousands of crew on our doorstep ready to jump on board if required. I think Australia and the Pacific is definitely becoming that third spot [to go superyachting] and then Alaska has always been a hotspot.”

“What’s holding us back from being a hub,” Mr Newby said, is “just distance.” He reckons: “What needs to be done is there are a lot of organisations that are pushing hard going to shows around the world and pushing Australia as a destination.”

“But it’s still that conception that we’re so far away and it’s true – we are. If you wanted to travel from the south of France to Australia it’s going to be, weather dependant, a 5 or 6-week trip to get a vessel down here.”

While Australia might seem a long way away from the existing superyacht hubs of the world, with the right infrastructure here, Mr Newby reckons we could certainly become a new hub of our own.

“Now that [a 5 or six-week journey to get here] seems like a lot, but when you’re laying the boat up for two months or over a whole year four to five months a year, from an owners point of view that’s nothing; you’ll step on a vessel in the south of France mid-September and then step off in Sydney [just in time for summer].”

“There’s a lot of education, especially for captains and crew which is needed, and which is what we’re trying to do from the ground up.” Greg Newby

“We’re trying to make sure that you can study here in Australia and we’re trying to make it a lot easier for students to come back and study and actually have career pathways here in Australia. At the moment it’s very restricted, but we’re working very hard on that and we’ve got a lot of government support to make sure that skilled workers come back to Australia. It’s just going to take time.”

“If you built it, they will come.” Greg Newby

There are always bumps along the road for any new trend, and Australia as a superyacht hub is no exception . But given everything Mr Newby has told us, we can only imagine more billion-dollar vessels will be gracing our shores over the next decade, not less. Now, all we need is our own version of Below Deck to finally hit Netflix and we’ll be laughing…

Sydney Harbour Australia

Why now is the time for an Australian superyacht adventure

Related articles, superyacht directory.

With international borders to Australia being reopened shortly after the country changed rules for foreign-flagged charters, the Land of Oz is ripe and ready for exploration. BOAT discovers what that means for the region and gets the lowdown on the best places to visit by superyacht down under...

Australia may be the smallest of the world’s seven continents, but it’s what surrounds it that counts: 25,800 kilometres of stunning coastline and the world’s largest coral reef system. In addition, its tropical and temperate waters, prime surfing spots, world-class attractions, exotic wildlife and a largely unexplored rugged interior are ingredients that should signal “superyacht heaven”. But for years Australia was something of a closed book.

If you wanted to cruise down under you had either to charter locally, clamber aboard a cruise ship or take your own boat; for some owners, that distance equals half a circumnavigation. Now, seeking to promote its country’s extraordinary offerings, the Australian government has passed the Special Recreational Vessels Bill to allow foreign-owned and flagged superyachts to charter in Australian waters. It’s a move that Andrew Cannon, general manager of Rivergate Marina in Brisbane, calls “a defining moment in Australia’s marine industry history.”

The change is expected to lead to an increase in the number of foreign-flagged yachts in the region and the amount of time they spend there too. Chris Santon, head of Burgess Australia , says it will bring a 300 per cent increase in the economic impact of yachting. Peter Redford, director of Fraser Australia , says the change will “finally place Australia as a world-class charter destination for superyachts... and [put] us on a par in the Pacific with other destinations such as Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand”.

“Australia has always been a desirable location for yacht owners and one for the bucket list,” says Santon. “However, the distances from common cruising grounds such as the Mediterranean and the Caribbean can seem daunting coupled with the obvious great expense involved with bringing yachts to this region. With these new laws making it simpler and more straightforward to be allowed to perform charters in Australia, there is suddenly one less argument to not come down to this region and all the surrounding cruising grounds, as costs can be offset in some way, which is always important for many yacht owners.”

Joscelyn O’Keefe, marketing and business development manager at Coral Sea Marina Resort in Queensland, which can berth yachts up to 80 metres and has a dedicated superyacht concierge, agrees. “For foreign-flagged vessels to be permitted to charter now provides additional incentives for owners to bear the costs of relocating their vessel to Australia for longer periods of time. They can enjoy [cruising] time themselves, get quality refit work at one of the many facilities available in Queensland, and then offset some of their costs by making their vessel available for charter.” In recent years, the marina has welcomed 73.3-metre Dragonfly , 57.5-metre Twizzle and 64.8-metre Adix .

The weather is undoubtedly a big draw. In the Whitsunday Islands and at the Great Barrier Reef , average temperatures rarely dip below 20 degrees Celsius, even in winter. “From November to March, when you are freezing to death [in Europe and America], it’s the middle of summer here,” says Jack Cowin, the Sydney-based owner of 43.8-metre Silver Dream and 60-metre Slipstream . “It’s an alternative winter destination to the Caribbean,” he says.

One welcome effect of the law change is that there will be bigger boats in the area, says Jonathan Beckett, CEO of Burgess. “There are not many big, quality superyachts in Australia. There are smaller yachts up to about 30 to 36 metres, but not superyachts as we know them. It will open up the market.” Yachts now available for charter in the region include the 36.6-metre Sahana , 38-metre Perle Bleue and 45-metre Big Fish .

Beckett imagines Australia will be a particular hit with West Coast Americans, perhaps a younger, tech-savvy crowd. “The younger generation are more dynamic and adventurous,” he says. “They are one flight away from Australia, can take a private plane straight into the Whitsundays and be on a yacht.”

Industry insiders divide Australia – and the people who will charter there – into three groups: those attracted to the culture and shopping of Sydney Harbour; those seeking the country’s natural appeal, who want to explore the Whitsundays’ crystal waters and the Great Barrier Reef’s diving opportunities; and those who Cowin deems the “adventurers... seeking something you can’t experience in old-world Europe”. After cruising in Australia, this latter group might travel onwards to Fiji or Vanuatu, he says.

There’s also the Kimberley in north-western Australia, which borders the Indian Ocean and the Timor Sea and faces Indonesia. Redford describes it as “a sparsely settled region known for large swathes of wilderness defined by rugged ranges, dramatic gorges, semi-arid savannah and a largely isolated coastline”. It is best visited from July to September, before temperatures get uncomfortably high. “The Kimberley is a very special area [offering] very different yachting,” adds Beckett. “It’s an incredible environment, up there as a real once- in-a-lifetime experience.”

Those who have cruised in Australia are passionate about it. Cowin’s Silver Dream , although built in Sydney, has been based in Europe for the past 19 years. Now he’s considering taking her to Australia and chartering there. He recommends cruising the Hawkesbury River, north of Sydney. “It comes in off the ocean. There are fantastic restaurants and nature parks there. You can only get there by seaplane or boat – it’s quite special.”

Captain Martin Debanks has lived in Cairns for 12 years and been in charge of the 35-metre wave piercer Spirit in the region since 2016. “My heart lies with the Great Barrier Reef,” he says. “The Whitsundays are truly a gem and the northern reaches of the reef are particularly unspoiled and remote. The cruising in the Kimberley is spectacular and not to be missed, as is Sydney Harbour, and, if you have time, a trip to Tasmania. Oh and did I mention the Northern Territories?”

He has a top tip for game fishermen: “Late September through to early December on the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns North to around Lizard Island is giant black marlin fishing season. It’s the time when these magnificent creatures return year after year to spawn. To experience this is truly unforgettable.”

Santon’s must-do is “a dive or snorkel trip at Osprey Reef on the Great Barrier Reef, an oval-shaped atoll rising 2,000 metres from the sea bottom with a 30-metre-deep lagoon of incredible water clarity and a magnitude of colourful corals and fish”. Or a beach set-up at Hyams Beach in Booderee National Park in Jervis Bay, south of Sydney. “The location is known for having the whitest sand in the world, making the water a stunning turquoise, and all this is surrounded by a national park where you might spot a kangaroo.” He also highlights the local food and drink: crayfish and rock lobsters in the Kimberley, Sydney rock oysters from Wallis Lake, and a Hunter Valley sémillon.

For Redford, a visit to Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays is “definitely a must”. This spectacular stretch of sand was ranked the number-one beach in Australia and the South Pacific in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Beaches Awards 2020. “There is also the world-famous Heart Reef – when viewed from above it is the shape of a heart. It is perfect for snorkelling and discovering the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef up close,” says Redford.

Tom Hill, director of Rivergate Marina and Shipyard in Brisbane, mentions the “easy cruising” from Queensland down to Sydney and Melbourne, and recommends Lord Howe Island, 600 kilometres off the coast of New South Wales, an extinct volcano with fantastic diving and “thousands of unique species”. He calls it “a slice of Jurassic Park.”

“The number of foreign-flagged vessels visiting the marina has grown steadily over the last five years, peaking in 2019 at 22 per cent of our total superyacht visitation,” says O’Keefe. “While the current pandemic has definitely slowed the level of vessels entering the country, there is still solid interest across the sector from foreign-flagged vessels, and the industry is primed to act on this as soon as the international border restrictions ease.”

Owners, charter agents, tourism groups and marinas are all buoyant about a permanent uptick. Cowin, for one, sees tourism in the country as having a “terrific future”, and the infrastructure only growing, especially as more Chinese people have been visiting Australia.

As Santon says: “The incredible natural beauty and diversity of the Great Barrier Reef or the rugged topography of the Kimberley is something to behold and few charterers and yacht owners in the world have really experienced awesome spectacles like this. All in all, those wishing to come to Australia will do so because they want to try something unique and different; they are more adventurous and willing to try new parts of the world.”

Australia can certainly tick all those boxes. “It’s a beautiful area and Australians are fabulous people,” says Beckett. “It’s a unique experience. You will never see anything like it in the world. It’s not just a yachting holiday... it’s something else.”

superyachts in australia

2 July 2021

Private yacht charters are on the rise.

Here, we showcase the sleekest vessels in local waters..

Think superyachts, think the French Riviera, where boats hosting royalty, rock stars and the seriously rich turn heads in the likes of Monaco and Saint Tropez.

Those destinations may be off the agenda for now, but that doesn’t mean Australians can’t have the superyacht experience.

There are about 60 fully crewed luxurious boats available for charter in local waters, and Australia’s 34,000-kilometre coastline means itinerary options are countless. The vessels range in length from 25 to 55 metres, and cost from $50,000 to $360,000 a week, accommodating up to 12 passengers.

Most are based in Sydney, Perth, Airlie Beach or Port Douglas, but owners are generally happy to relocate their boat, whether to Cape York, the Whitsundays, the

Coral Coast or Tasmania. And now that yachts and crew that have been in New Zealand for 14 days or more can come to New South Wales and Queensland without going into quarantine, more boats from across the ditch may soon be available.

Joachim Howard, founder of leading yacht agency Ocean Alliance, says the pandemic has sparked a surge in interest in superyacht charters. Winter destinations such as Queensland and the Kimberley are in high demand. “Private yacht charter is highly customised and adaptable to changing environments and guest requirements, which is appealing in the climate of fluid Covid restrictions,” Howard says. “Many of our clients are generational families or groups of friends who would typically travel together internationally. The platform of a private yacht allows you to curate every aspect of an itinerary, so there’s a greater ability to develop a unique experience with complete flexibility.”

Take your pick from these Australia-based vessels, plus one New Zealand option for adventures further afield and a French Polynesian selection to fuel dreams of another travel bubble.

Only two years old, this 35-metre yacht is homeported in Perth, from where

Spread out on the double sun lounges at the bow or soak in the glass-edged Jacuzzi on the aft sundeck. The salon has plush sofas and a formal dining table, while casual meals can be taken at the stern or on the sundeck with retractable roof.

With 40 per cent of the reef unsurveyed, yacht guests have the option of participating in data collection for conservation work. Beluga has many other features to recommend it, including uber-luxe interiors and a Jacuzzi on the sundeck. A major drawcard for divers and fishers is Minke, the dedicated 12-metre chaseboat (with dive platform) provided.

Here’s one out of left field. It’s not shiny and new, but Duyfken has a tale to tell. The ship, the latest addition to the Australian Maritime Museum fleet, is a replica of Dutchman Willem Janszoon’s vessel, which sailed from Indonesia to the west coast of Cape York in 1606.

The navigator and his crew became the first Europeans to set foot in Australia, 164 years before James Cook. The replica, completed in 1999 in Fremantle, arrived in Sydney on Christmas Eve last year.

It’s open to museum visitors and conducts regular afternoon sailings on the harbour. But for a unique experience, gather 23 friends and take Duyfken on an exclusive outing on the harbour.

Work out in the gym while watching dolphins in the distance or submit to a session with the on-board masseuse. Interiors are traditional, with plenty of dark timber, leather, hefty couches, marble and gold.

Tracing its history back almost 60,000 years, Australia boasts an impressive and storied past with cave drawings, pottery and artwork narrating its history through the centuries. The indiginous people enjoyed a peaceful coexistence until British settlers claimed possession in the 18th century and established a penal colony, dispossessing these Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islander people of their land and marginalising their communities.

Descendants of the original settlers have now been formally recognised as custodians of this vast continent, and we continue to learn through their deep connection with the land and marvel at the astonishing and diverse landscape that acts as a siren call to anyone lucky enough to explore Australia's vast and glittering shores.

Today, Australia is renowed for its cosmopolitan culture and vibrant nightlife, world-class diving and elite watersports activities; an alluring combination for luxury yacht charters.

Tax for Yacht Charters in Australia

The passage of the Special Recreational Vessels Bill 2019 has been a huge boon to Australia's superyacht sector. The legislation allows foreign-flagged superyachts to charter in Australian waters without fully importing their vessel to the country, increasing the selection of yachts available for crewed charters.

Superyachts can obtain a coastal trading temporary allowance to charter, and guests will need to pay a  10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) according to the charter's value. This will be applied on top of your charter fee, as well as any delivery or redelivery fees that are incurred.

For additional information on VAT and tax concerning your yacht charter in Australia, please consult your chosen  yacht charter broker .

Surfer riding a wave in Australia

Given Australia's unfathomably vast terrain, temperatures can range from temperate to tropical depending on the region, so the optimal times to visit popular yacht charter destinations can vary slightly.

  • June to October is considered the best time to experience the natural wonder of the Great Barrier Reef , where yacht charterers can benefit from considerably less rainfall, which means improved diving conditions due to better water visibility.
  • June to August  are the best months for seeing  The Kimberley's  celebrated waterfalls at full flow.
  • When summer comes to the Whitsundays  it buzzes to life with temperatures hovering at 30 degrees, with balmy sea temperatures of between 27-28 degrees. October is the sunniest month with up to 10 hours of sunshine a day. For the glitterati, September is the optimal month to visit the Whitsundays as it's comfortably warm with less humidity, plus fewer tourists are around.
  • December to February are the months when Sydney is at its liveliest and it's also widely regarded as the best time to visit: watch the city's harbor turn into a riot of color as fireworks are let off for New Year's Eve.
  • November to March  are the key months to experience the pleasant climes of Melbourne .

The Whitsundays is an invariably popular place to begin a superyacht charter in Australia, comprising a long indented ribbon of 74 islands cradled from the outer ocean by the Great Barrier Reef.  As an underwater menagerie featuring some of the most bewilderingly beautiful lifeforms, and at land level replete with barely-frequented, jungle-clad beaches that boggle the senses with their heavenliness, its allure is evident. Plus, there is a multitude of overnight anchorages at guests' disposal here.

The preferred jumping-off points for the Whitsundays are the  Coral Sea Marina and  Hamilton Island Marina . If discovering the Great Barrier Reef in all its glory first,  Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina is a preferred choice.

Though Australia certainly isn't lacking in impressive spots to start a yacht charter elsewhere: take majestic Sydney  with the world's largest natural harbor. But keep in mind there may be a smaller fleet to select from in other destinations.

Tropical birds in Queensland Australia

  • Keep in mind that stingers (potentially lethal jellyfish like the Box Jellyfish and Irukandji) are found in coastal areas of Queensland. The higher risk season is from October to May in the Whitsundays, so wear protective 'stinger suits' when diving, swimming, or snorkeling.
  • Be aware of freshwater and saltwater crocodiles in the Kimberley, which can appear from waterholes. Whilst they are majestic creatures, they are best appreciated from afar!
  • Whilst Queensland itself is certainly a fantastic all-year-round destination, it's worth remembering that the Great Barrier Reef only experiences two seasons, wet and dry. The dry season here is from May to October.
  • Remember to wear sunscreen: Australia's proximity to the equator means that the country experiences very high UV radiation levels.
  • Guests should ensure their passport is valid for up to six months prior to their charter.
  • Most guests will need a valid Tourist Visa or an Electronic Travel Authority to enter the country. There is no fee if your stay in Australia is less than three months. Please consult your yacht broker for personalized information pertaining to your trip.

For Australia yacht charters, we strongly advise booking well in advance of your trip to ensure you get the perfect vessel for your chosen dates. We recommend doing so three to six months ahead to give your  yacht charter broker  the time to organize a personalized itinerary and provide you with an amazing Australia chartering experience.

If you leave left too late, the selection of yachts at your disposal will be reduced. Plus, finding dates when everyone in your charter party is available, can become more difficult the longer it's postponed.

Australia Yacht Charter Q&A

Browsing the range of Australia charter yachts available is a breeze on our website. Select by your chosen dates, number of guests, yacht type, features, and preferred onboard toys and we'll show you what's on offer.

If you do make a subsequent enquiry, a yacht charter broker will then contact you to provide you with a custom charter proposal.

Alternatively, contact your  yacht charter broker directly, and they will be able to research on your behalf your Australia yacht charter options.

For most Australian yacht charters, you secure the booking through a completed charter agreement, with 50% of the charter fee paid upfront as a deposit. This amount is usually payable once the contract has been signed.

The Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsundays (74 glittering isles located within this gigantic oceanic playground) are the preferred choices to begin or end an Australian yacht charter. Guests adore the world-renowned diving and snorkeling opportunities here (which are practically boundless), their uber-luxe resorts and stunning array of bays and anchorages.

Foreign-flagged superyachts should obtain a coastal trading temporary allowance to charter in Australia.

Be clear about where exactly you want to charter a yacht in Australia prior to booking, as the best times to visit can differ dramatically according to the region. For example, popular superyacht hotspots like the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsunday's and the Kimberley's are all best explored between June-September. Meanwhile, for Sydney and Melbourne the best times to visit are between December and February.

Australia is a sought-after yacht charter destination, which for guests means there is a yacht to suit practically every budget.

However, take into consideration the additional costs that aren't included in the base rate for your yacht charter in Australia. This includes the 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) that needs to be paid according to the charter's value, and the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). The APA is usually set at 30% of the charter fee and paid in advance to cover expenses such as fuel, berthing, food and drinks, as well as any special requests.

Breakthrough discovery in doomed superyacht

Divers have recovered video surveillance equipment from billionaire Mike Lynch’s Bayesian superyacht that could reveal key details of its sinking.

Divers have recovered video surveillance equipment from billionaire Mike Lynch’s Bayesian superyacht that could reveal key details of its sinking.

The entrepreneur and dad-of-two, dubbed “Britain’s Bill Gates”, died alongside his teenage daughter when his superyacht sank off the coast of Sicily on August 19.

Prosecutors investigating the sinking deployed six elite divers from special forces unit “Comsubin” who have made repeated dives down to the sunken vessel.

Divers from the Italian Navy were able to retrieve the surveillance equipment including computers and hard drives.

Now they are to be analysed in specialised labs, according to a report.

The devices will be examined to see if any data can be revealed, or potentially a video showing how the yacht sank – including whether any doors were left open.

The captain of the doomed Bayesian, James Cutfield, 51, from New Zealand, is being investigated for manslaughter.

Mr Cutfield, along with two other members of his crew, are being investigated by Italian authorities for culpable shipwreck and multiple manslaughter.

Prosecutors are also probing UK ship engineer Tim Parker-Eaton, and sailor Matthew Griffith, 22, under the same charges.

The investigation does not imply guilt or mean formal charges will be brought against any of the men.

At a press conference at the Termini Imerese Courthouse on Saturday, Chief Prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio said there may have been “behaviours that were not perfectly in order with regard to the responsibility everybody had”.

His team will probe if hatches were left open, allowing water to flood in.

They will also look into whether the crew raised the alarm before escaping.

Jonathan and Judy Bloomer died in the sinking of the luxury yacht Bayesian off the coast of Sicily. Picture: Family handout/AFP

He vowed to “discover how much they knew and to what extent all the people (passengers) were warned”.

“There could be in fact the question of homicide. But this is the beginning of the inquiry, we cannot exclude anything at all …We will establish each element’s (crew) responsibility,” Mr Cartosio added. “For me, it is probable that offences were committed — that it could be a case of manslaughter.”

The body of Mike Lynch and his four guests, Christopher, Neda, Jonathan and Judy were found in the first cabin on the left.

Divers recovered five of the six missing passengers – including Lynch – in one cabin on the left side of the yacht which settled on its right side on the sea floor.

A judicial investigation into the yacht tragedy is ongoing.

The luxury vessel was caught up in a horror storm which caused it to sink in the early hours of the morning.

Of the 22 onboard, 15 survived with 11 including Mike Lynch’s wife rescued on an inflatable life raft.

Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter Hannah was the last passenger to be discovered in the third cabin.

The survivors of the wreck, including Lynch’s wife Angela Bacares, 57, left Sicily in a private jet last Sunday.

A Qantas flight was forced to make a sudden landing at a regional airport following a major safety issue.

Greenberg and Joy say their goal was to disrupt the tender segment with an out-of-the-box concept that could cater to the most demanding clients in the yachting industry. The resulting design, which is kind of like a cross between a support vessel, a floating garage, and a tender, offers seafarers an exciting new way to store and transport luxury vehicles. The studio says each unit will be fully bespoke, ensuring owners can create the perfect home for their fine automobiles.

Falcon Shuttle

It is not uncommon for catamarans to serve as shadow vessels to larger, superyachts. Multihulls are generally more stable than monohulls because their two hulls provide a wide and sturdy base. They offer a large amount of real estate onboard, too. Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates reportedly owned a 224-foot support cat , for example. GreenJoy didn’t share any details regarding the shuttle’s length or volume but the fact it can comfortably accommodate a car means that it must be at least 20 feet or more. That is quite a bit smaller than Bill’s but should provide enough space for your favorite ride.

The yard didn’t share any information in terms of propulsion, either. Falcon offers tenders with hybrid diesel-electric propulsion, so perhaps buyers could opt for a sustainable shuttle that burns less fuel than traditional gas-guzzling runabouts.

GreenJoy will present the Falcon Shuttle at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, which is set to take place in the iconic Port Hercules from September 25 to 28. It won’t be the only exciting debut, either: Robb Report has compiled a list of the best new superyachts launching at the prestigious event. Best get yourself to France.
