The Hansa 303 is ideal for those sailors who wish to take their sailing more seriously. Compared to the Hansa 2.3, this boat has a taller rig with the addition of a jib so there are two extra control lines to handle.  A heavier centreboard along with the same steering and similar hull characteristics to the smaller 2.3 ensures these boats are also extremely safe and easy to sail.

The Hansa 303 will balance perfectly when sailed single-handed, but is still fun and responsive when sailed by two adults. The 303 is an inexpensive, very versatile, exciting, yet very comfortable boat to sail.

There are over 1100 Hansa 303’s sailing in 28 countries and it is an International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Class.

With both single and double seat options, ballasted centreboard and jib sail, the 303 balances perfectly when handled by either one or two sailors, and is a comfortable yet exciting boat to sail.

The Hansa 303 is a fun, safe, stable and easy to sail boat for one or two people. It has two sails, with an increased carrying capacity and it is well suited to more lively sea conditions.

This boat is ideal for novices with or without an on-board coach and for people with limited abilities and is easy to steer with a joy stick. The Hansa 303 Class (including the 303 Wide and 303 Breeze) is a World Sailing Class.

We have 4 boats available for hire. They are US$30 for a two hour session.

• Page 9 How to Rig a 303 Wide SETTING UP Place the hull on a soft surface well clear of any overhead wires and facing toward the wind STEPPING THE MAIN MAST 1. Ensure the mainsail (inner) reefing line knot is positioned as far forward as it will go on the port (left) side 2.
• Page 10 REEFING THE MAINSAIL (shortening sail) 1. You can put one complete turn of sail around the mast without adjusting the outhaul 2. With the outhaul un-cleated on the boom and the outhaul ring free to travel, pull on the port reefing line to reduce sail area 3.

What kind of sailboat is a Hansa 303 , and what are the features of this boat?

The Hansa 303 is designed to be accomodating to a wide array of disabilities. The Hansa was raced for the first time in the Para World Championships in 2017. For many sailors the easy adaptability of the Hansa 303 is particularly helpful.
