Yacht Haven Park and Marina

Located deep up the New River in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this hurricane protected port is the latest addition to the Westrec family of Marinas.  Featuring 55 side tie slips, the Marina can easily accommodate yachts to 130’ and surrounds the tropical uplands of Yacht Haven Resort Park.  One of the rare facilities in south Florida that can accommodate both luxury motorcoach and recreational vehicles to megayachts.  Keep all your toys in one place as in select areas you are able to park your RV next to your slip at the Resort Park, and still have plenty of room for your yacht’s crew support vehicle, motor bikes or other leisure gear.

Under new ownership in 2021, the property is currently in Phase 1 of $26 million in upgrades to the facilities and grounds which will culminate with installation of additional amenities for resort and marina patrons and their guests alike.   Centrally located, Yacht Haven is south Florida’s best kept secret.

Yacht Haven Park & Marina features 255 motorcoach sites, many with spectacular waterfront views, as well as a full-service marina that can accommodate vessels up to 130’.  Family and pet friendly you’ll find something for everyone!

Coordinates:

From the north or south – take I-95 to State Road 84, Marina Mile Blvd (exit 25) head west for approximately ½ mile the Marina entrance is on your right at Sidney Lane.

From the Fort Lauderdale International Airport,  exit the airport to US 1  (Federal Highway) north.  The second light is State Rd 84 (SE 24 th Street).  Make a left and proceed west for approximately 2 miles.  As you pass over I-95, SE 24 th Street becomes Marina Blvd.  The entrance to the marina is on your right at Sydney Lane.

Just north of Port Everglades Inlet, on the IntraCoastal Waterway,  merge onto the New River at Green Marker 21  keep Green Marker to your Port and Red Marker 20 and the seawall to your starboard as you merge onto the New River west bound.  Stay in the channel, proceed inland through downtown Fort Lauderdale.  Monitor outbound traffic.  You will clear 4 bridges.  Shortly after the fourth bridge (7 th Avenue) the New River splits.  To your right is the North Fork and to your left is the South fork.  Continue west on the South Fork, you will pass under the Davie Blvd Bridge, which is the last bridge before I-95 which is a fixed bridge with a 55’ vertical clearance.   Once you pass under this bridge, Yacht Haven is the second marina on your port side.

I don't understand some of the reviews I don't know what people expect. I've been on the road since August obviously I'm a full timer. This is one of the nicest nest cleanest most organized park I've been to. I like the comings and goings of high $$ coaches and yachts it gives me something to dream about. I will definitely come back and look forward to the new pool and some of the new plans for expansion. The only thing I could whine about in it such a minor item is that there is no spa or Jacuzzi, however, it appears that they're going to rectify that problem. I would stay here 1000 times if I could.

We stayed at yacht haven for a full week and it's a mix of emotions. It's very close to Plantation where I work so it's an easy drive. The park is obviously old but it's gone through an aggressive renovation and it's very pretty. The driveways are narrow and the utility connections can be a bit odd for some sites but that comes from the parks age- plus anyone traveling in an RV should carry extensions. The grounds are clean and we saw on multiple occasions staff leaf blowing and tidying up. The pool area was nice and tidy. The pool itself is showing some age (nothing bad) but there are signs posted of a new pool area with rooftop lounge being built early 2024. I had no issues with the staff, everyone was very friendly and was even allowed to checkout a bit later since my site was not booked the date of departure. Overall we're happy and will probably return again next year.

You will love your stay. But everyone in the office makes it even better. Tiffany is an amazing and wonderful lady you can not ask for anyone more attentive when it comes to helping you with your stay or whatever you need away from the park. A most stay if your in Fort Lauderdale

This is absolutely a beautiful place to stay!!! Everyone who works here is very polite and friendly. We travel substantially and this is the cleanest park we have stayed at. A wonderful experience from reservations, arrival, to staying! Most definitely the place to enjoy your Visit to Fort Lauderdale when RVing Kia (office) and Stephanie (reservations) are two amazing ladies to help you out with what ever you may need

over priced $4500 a month. what . pool and restroom needs update. several sites underwater when it rains.

Yacht Haven used to be run down and now it is beautiful . We were so Impressed with the transformation which has taken place here.

Snarky, rude, condescending attitude from owner. Park is extremely small. Do not stay here . Way better options in the area.

Not sure why any negative reviews here. One of the cleanest and nicest places we have stayed. Owner is very nice and is on site most of the time. We definitely will be back!

I would stay clear of this place. Although is "appears" to be a great place to park your RV, The "owner", as he presented himself to me in an unpleasant phone call, is not a pleasant person. He called me to discuss a customer service issue we had and yelled at me from the time the call began until it ended when he called me a "moron". He then aggressively attempted to continue his yelling by calling back multiple times. He is extremely unstable and I would be worried about his management of this "resort". I only make this post because he was extremely rude to me and was completely uncooperative in trying to resolve a customer relations issue we had. If you have the patience to deal with this type of person if a situation arises, then have at it. I just want people to know he was an angry, aggressive and unprofessional person. Just putting out the warning.

Very little shade, fake grass, no picnic tables, small areas for big rigs, and very expensive! When we were last there it was a lot of construction and on our way back home had a blow out which was very scary.

The Only redeeming quality about this park is the location. Although the yachts are beautiful to look at... This is an old RV park that needs lots of attention. The maintenance needs to totally renovate the sites... When there is rain there are massive flooding of the streets and at the sights... So much mud everywhere- So unpleasant. The sites are very close together and not well-kept. Although The front desk tried to be accommodating... The lack of warmth and friendliness was not welcoming at all. There were so many sites available... they could have put us in a much better site. They also nickel and dime you and make you pay extra for electricity - even if you stay only one night. We will not return to this RV site in the future.

“Beautiful Resort Park”

We stayed 3 nights and loved everything about the park. The location is close to the beach and downtown area which is very nice. Restaurants and places to shop. The Resort has beautiful yachts parked We camped at Yacht Haven Park & Marina in a Motorhome.

Hungary Dutchman food boat was really good for lunch. If you have a towed car thats good so you can check out other places to eat....

“Quiet and safe for area . ”

Astro turf made the place look nice. Pool and club house have not been rebuilt as of yet but is adequate. Roads dead end with not much room to turn a big rig around best to pre plan your exit. No We camped at Yacht Haven Park & Marina in a Motorhome.

Lots of good restaurants around and in FLL area. Approaching from the west requires a u turn and back track on 84...

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean park and marina. AstroTurf instead of grass at a sites. All sites were very long with brick pavers. Friendly and hhelpfuk staff. They take you to your site We camped at Yacht Haven Park & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Spots are quite tight here, but your view is an ever changing scenery of boats and yachts docked in the marina if you get a waterfront site. Staying here offers a true Fort Lauderdale experience with yachts all around, and also it's central location to Las Olas Blvd, the beachfront promenade, and all that For Lauderdale has to offer including it's convenience to major airports, Everglades National Park, Alligator Alley, and the city of Miami (35 minute drive without traffic). Long story short, the tight spots are not a bother when you've got that much around to keep you occupied!

We did not use any amenities such as laundry, pool or otherwise.

There is noise from the airport, but it wasn't a bother and I felt it added to the experience.

When visiting Fort Lauderdale and/or Miami, we would stay here again.

It’s a combination campground and marina. Site was unpacked and very tight with other sites. A lot of snowbirds and full time residents. Laundry facility was terrible. Out of 8 machines ont 2 worked, same with the dryers. You can do a lot better by driving a few miles away. A lot of highway (I95 next to it) and airport (FLL International) noise.

Yacht haven has a few nightly spots, but most people here are extended-stay residents (I was here during a consulting project.), fulltimers, and seasonal residents. From January through April every site is doubled up and may not be your idea of a good time. From April through November, the park is relatively quiet and there’s lots of breathing room. That said, there’s not many trees to accommodate high season.

In general, the place is kept clean if not well maintained. Over the year I was there, the laundry was functional, clean, and social. The staff are congenial and attentive, especially to those folks who stay for longer stays. The location is super convenient to the airport and seaport as well as downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Miami and the beaches are close as well. As such, Yacht Haven is not the place to set up the hammock although the I never noticed the expressway/airplane noise as reported in another review.

Yacht Haven is a clean, albeit a bit run down, conveniently located park from which you can enjoy a big city stay.

This campground works nicely if you are not looking to "camp" rather are using your rv for accommodations after you spend the day at the beach. Hollywood beach was minutes away and easy to get to. The campground is very urban and packed with permanent trailers and giant yachts. We stayed here to get one of our party on a plane at FLL early in the morning which was super easy.

I Love Everything The Service The Security The Marina The Food Truck The Heated Pool And The Gym It Is Perfect For Vacation any Time Of The Year Since The Weather Was Awesome

This place has horrible customer service. They flooded due to a freak storm the whole time we would have been staying. We had to make other arrangements. They took $1000 dollars from us and still have yet to give any money back, saying it's "not in their refund policy." THEY COULD NOT HOST US! How is that against your refund policy when it was you who couldn't have us stay? STAY FAR AWAY. We were originally told we could have the money back, but then after several no call backs to management and several email attempts go unanswered, they will never be getting any business of mine again. And I will be telling everyone to AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! What kind of business do you run? If you had insurance, and you probably do, you could recoup any losses due to the storm. But you insist on keeping many rvers money. It's not like you're cheap either. Shame on you. Poor poor management style.

Le camping est tellement beau ! Très propre ! Le personnel est accueillant. Si vous voulez voir de beau vr et des gros bateaux.. c’est juste wow. Il y a un petit restaurant sur place et un autre juste à côté pour manger de bon repas de fruits de mer. Le seul inconvénient, c’est que le camping est entouré de grande route donc difficile de partir en vélo se promener. Le parc gouvernemental situé à côté du camping est fermé. Il paraît qu’il était très beau. Ce n’est pas bruyant et c’est un camping très calme mais il n’y a pas beaucoup de chose à faire pour une famille avec des enfants .. C’est parfait pour se reposer.

The campsite is so beautiful! Very clean ! The staff is welcoming. If you want to see beautiful RVs and big boats... it's just wow. There is a small restaurant on site and another right next door for a good seafood meal. The only drawback is that the campsite is surrounded by a main road so it is difficult to go for a bike ride. The government park located next to the campsite is closed. It seems that he was very handsome. It's not noisy and it's a very quiet campsite but there isn't much to do for a family with children.. It's perfect for relaxing.

Last moments of Bayesian yacht as it’s battered by storm before sinking

Newly released CCTV footage has shown the moment the Bayesian superyacht was engulfed by a suspected waterspout.

Six passengers onboard the boat , including tech tycoon  Mike Lynch , 59, his daughter Hannah, 18, and chairman of Morgan Stanley international Jonathan Bloomer, remain missing after the yacht sank early Monday morning.

Suddenly, the lights disappear, and the boat is no longer visible. Local Giornale Di Sicilia said: ‘In just sixty seconds – says the owner of the villa – you can see the ship disappear.

‘Of about twenty cameras installed in the house, only one was not disturbed by the wind and rain. You can clearly see what is happening.

‘There was nothing that could be done for the boat. It disappeared in a very short time.’

A total of 15 other passengers, including Mr Lynch’s wife Angela Bacares, have been rescued so far while one person, the boat’s chef, has been found dead.

Emergency responder Luca Cari told Italian daily  Giornale Di Sicilia  divers can stay underwater for a maximum of 12 minutes, so the searches are being carried out for 10 minutes per dive.

According to reports, Mr Lynch and the group were on holiday celebrating after Mr Lynch was acquitted of fraud in June following a high-profile court case over the company’s sale.

The Italian Coastguard believes Mike Lynch and five other missing people may still be inside the sunken yacht, a spokesman said.

Vincenzo Zagarola told the PA news agency this was the working theory of officials on Sicily because it is believed the boat sank quickly and search and rescue efforts by sea and air have so far delivered no results.

He said: ‘We think they are still inside the boat, that is our very hard idea.

‘Our search and rescue activity by sea and air has gone on for around 36 hours.

‘Of course, we do not exclude that they are not inside the boat, but we know the boat sank quickly.

‘We suppose that the six people missing may not have had time to get out of the boat.’

Travis Scott requests to DROP trespassing charge two months after his arrest at Miami marina

Travis Scott has requested that his trespassing charge be dropped by a judge - two months after his arrest at a Miami marina following an altercation on a yacht. 

The Sicko Mode rapper, 33 - who was recently 'released with no charges' after his Paris arrest following an argument with his bodyguard - claimed there weren't any 'No Trespassing' signs at the Miami Beach Marina, per TMZ. 

On Tuesday, the music artist's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, filed a motion to toss out the case - after a second charge of disorderly intoxication was dropped earlier this month. 

Scott has claimed that there were warning signs on private property nearby, but none that were visible at the marina. 

His legal team stated the charge should also be dismissed due to the arrest taking place at a private parking lot, rather than the actual marina.

Travis - whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster - had been accused of cursing at people while on a yacht at the Miami Beach Marina and was taken into custody on June 20 around 1a.m. 

The arrest took place after the rapper had been ordered by police to leave the premises, but returned to retrieve personal items that had been left on the boat. 

Sources informed TMZ at the time that the music artist's 'decision to go back ultimately led' to his arrest.  

But earlier this month, Scott's disorderly intoxication charge was dropped after a hearing, per TMZ . Travis was not in attendance at the most recent legal proceeding.

He is currently scheduled to go to trial for the misdemeanor trespassing charge on September 10. 

Back in June, Travis was arrested overnight for disorderly intoxication and trespassing at the marina, according to the affidavit seen by DailyMail.com.

Scott was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center for the two misdemeanors around 4.35a.m., per court records.

The Houston-born rapper - who has two young children, Stormi and Aire, with Kylie Jenner - was arrested by police at the Miami Beach Marina at 1:17 am.

He was involved in 'a disturbance on a yacht' which involved people 'fighting,' according to police. Scott's lawyer Bradford Cohen told DailyMail.com the fight was verbal in nature and 'there was absolutely no physical altercation involved.'

Ten officers approached the boat and found Scott 'standing by the dock and yelling at the vessel occupants,' according to the affidavit.

They tried to defuse the situation by asking Scott to sit down, but he repeatedly stood back up and disregarded their orders, per the record.

Police said Scott had 'a strong smell of alcohol' on his breath, and Sergeant Lemus warned him to leave the dock or face arrest.

'Throughout the long walk from the vessel to the boardwalk, the defendant walked backwards yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel,' the affidavit reads.

Scott eventually returned back to his vehicle, and ordered one of his security guards to get out of the SUV so that they couldn't leave the scene.

He then appeared to threaten his own security guard, telling officers 'if he gets in the vehicle he's gonna catch a fade,' meaning get into a fight.

The rapper eventually complied with officer's requests to leave. But just five minutes later he turned around and came back to cause more chaos.

Scott 'began yelling once again, becoming erratic, disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings causing a public disturbance' according to police.

He was detained and taken to Miami-Dade corrections facility. When probed about whether he had been drinking alcohol, Scott said 'it's Miami' and admitted that he had.

Scott submitted a $650 bond - which includes $500 for the trespass charge, and $150 for disorderly intoxication.

Scott's lawyer Bradford Cohen told DailyMail.com the rapper was 'briefly detained due to a misunderstanding'.

'There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution,' Cohen said.

The Astroworld rapper appeared bleary-eyed and expressionless in his mugshot, which has been shared by Miami Dade Corrections facility.

Travis recently had another run-in with the law while in Paris after an alleged argument with his bodyguard at the Four Seasons Hotel George V on August 9. 

The star - who was in France for the Olympics - was released the following day 'with no charges,' his representative confirmed to People.   

A source also told the outlet that there are, 'no plans for him to be charged in the future, and there were no injuries to any other party, including,' the star's security team. 

Scott is also in the midst of his Circus Maximus Tour which is in support of his 2023 album, Utopia. 

Concerts are set to resume next month on September 7 in Santiago, Chile followed by other stops in countries such as Argentina, Brazil and Columbia. 

In October, the rapper will also perform in Australia in cities including Melbourne and Sydney, as well as a stop in Auckland, New Zealand.

A woman with muscular dystrophy was left shocked after finding a printed card on the windscreen of her parked car at the local shopping mall.

“I parked on the level for Woolworths and Aldi in a disabled car park, because I am DISABLED,” the woman posted to  The Lake Macquarie Community Notice Board  group on Facebook to provide context. 

“I parked between a large stanchion and the bright yellow bollard with the yellow paint hatching on the floor.

“Admittedly I did park on a slight angle, but seeing as no one could park either side of me and I wouldn’t be causing an issue with anyone else, I left the car like that.”

“Someone with not much to do left this”

It was after she had finished her grocery shopping and returned to her car that she found something left by another shopper. 

“To my surprise and disappointment, someone with apparently not much to do left this [printed] card under my windscreen wiper.”

A photo accompanying her post is of the unwelcome professionally printed card which reads, ‘HEY YOU SUCK AT PARKING’ in bold font with, ‘Even a five year old knows how to stay inside the lines’ underneath. 

The woman was not happy and wrote the next part of her post directly to the person who left the note.

 “Honestly mate…get a life. Do you have nothing better to do than harass disabled shoppers? 

“Maybe you could put your money to better use than getting cards printed anonymously by donating to a disabled charity.

“As your card states, I WAS taking up only ONE space per car.”

“Sick of these parking ‘cops'”

The post garnered hundreds of comments, many from drivers who also had experience of unofficial parking reviews and cards like this one.

“Sick of these parking ‘cops’,” wrote one user.

“I often have to park in two spaces because there is no disability parking left and you can’t fit a wheelchair up the side of the car.

“If it doesn’t affect your life just move on and stop being up in peoples business. So sorry this happened to you.”

Another member of the group went one step further: “It’s bullying. Don’t give it another thought.”

With a third person relating they have had a similar experience with one of these printed cards on a day where they were helping their elderly father.

“I’ve also got a disability permit and I was parked in a disabled angled parking spot on the street… I had my elderly dad with me who I was taking to an appointment. 

“If anyone is thinking of putting these on other peoples cars maybe think about the effect it might have on the other person. You don’t know what they are going through.”

One woman commenting was shocked not so much at the card, but at the fact someone spends their day putting them on windscreens for ‘fun’.

“So someone spends their weekend prowling round carparks looking for cars to put their specially printed cards on (do they hide behind pillars to watch peoples reactions, perhaps film it?). 

“Do they also have specially printed cards for other minimal misdemeanors?! The mind boggles! Eww!”

“I love the card!”

Opinion was divided however as many people commenting felt that this type of card, which apparently is sourced from online shop Temu, is just a bit of fun. 

“I love the card,” wrote one user. “Don’t be so offended…you know you parked at an angle… laugh it off.”

Plenty of other group members agreed, with some asking where they could get hold of cards like this for their own use.

Another added: “The way I park I would have a big collection of those cards! Laugh it off!”

But to those who found it funny, one woman had some advice about seeing the world from a different perspective.

“Shows how ignorant and self-entitled people are”

“Just shows how ignorant and self-entitled some people are, such small minds they can’t possibly see this from the point of view of someone with a disability out doing their best. 

“Hard to ignore because it’s just another thing you need to deal with that others don’t. 

“And the people here saying ‘get over it, it’s just a joke’… maybe they should walk in your shoes for a few weeks and see how they feel then.”

Finally, one user left a tip that many of us need reminding of: “In a world when you can be anything, be kind.

“It is the gift you give to yourself.”

NYPD investigating body parts found near carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park

DUMBO, Brooklyn (WABC) -- For the second time in a week, police are investigating after human bones were discovered at Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo.

A femur and a couple of smaller bones were found just after midnight Wednesday near the carousel.

The discovery comes after patrol officers found a skull and bones on Monday morning in the park.

The remains appear to be from the same person, detectives have been told.

The Medical Examiner's Office says a full forensic anthropological examination is underway.

On Wednesday morning, parkgoers seemed surprised by what had been found.

"You don't usually see that nowadays honestly, it feels like something from the 1970s or so, but you live and learn every day," one parkgoer said.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

Perched on the shores of Boka Bay, Aeris offers 22 residences over five floors. Designed by global architecture studio Woods Bagot, the building is inspired by the sea and the superyachts that grace it.
