AMELS 242 For Sale
The AMELS 242 yacht was designed by Tim Heywood and has quickly become one of the most recognizable designs afloat. AMELS, a Dutch luxury yacht builder is now constructing the next AMELS 242, which will be available for delivery in Summer 2025.
Due to the AMELS Limited Edition approach, the owner can select their own Interior Designer for completely custom interiors.
This AMELS 242 new construction project features an expansive 2,580 sq ft. dedicated Owner’s Deck with a spectacular forward-facing stateroom and spacious & light his-and-hers bathrooms. This deck also includes a refined Owner’s Office with separate entry, a French balcony, and a large aft lounge with shaded outdoor dining and a bar.
The AMELS 242 also features an award-winning Beach Club and folding beach platform starboard. This is an amazing place to relax, enjoy a sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi, hair and nail salon or massage.
Moran Yacht & Ship has extensive experience working with the AMELS shipyard. In 2016, we successfully completed the construction and delivered to her owner the first AMELS 242 Motor Yacht PLVS VLTRA .

74-metre Amels 242 Launched
Launch season is officially under way at Damen Yachting. The latest Amels 242 has emerged from the drydock in the Netherlands. A milestone which marks the start of her final build phase ahead of her delivery in a few months’ time.
Seventh in successful 242 line
This 74-metre (242 ft) Amels is the seventh yacht to be launched from this successful Limited Editions design which features the signature exterior lines of Tim Heywood. The Owner has been represented throughout the build by Imperial.
Featuring unique customizations and equipped with the latest IMO Tier III package
Featuring custom interiors by Winch Design, Amels 24207 is a wonderful example of the Amels Limited Editions concept. Amidst a market where fast delivery times and build slots are becoming more challenging to come by, she will be delivered ahead of the summer season and within 18 months of her Owner stepping into the project whilst still featuring a number of unique customisations.
With a Gross Tonnage of 1,790, Amels 24207 accommodates 12 guests and 19 crew. She features a dedicated Owners Deck with foredeck jacuzzi and an increased capacity helicopter deck. The yacht is equipped with the latest IMO Tier III clean emissions power and propulsion package.

The 74m/242'9" motor yacht 'New Secret' was built by Amels in the Netherlands at their Vissingen shipyard. Her interior is styled by British designer design house Winch Design and she was completed in 2017. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Tim Heywood Design.

New Secret has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising two VIP cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 19 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Her features include a spa, beauty salon, elevator, underwater lights, beach club, gym, deck jacuzzi, WiFi and air conditioning.
Range & Performance
New Secret is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3516C) 2,667hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 15 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles from her 175,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. New Secret features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. Her water tanks store around 39,200 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register ✠ +100A1, SSC, Yacht Mono G6 (+) LMC, UMS, SCM, Green Passport, classification society rules.

The Amels Shipyard story began in 1688. Once a small fishing port in Vlissingen, Netherlands, the shipyard complex was eventually expanded and still serves as the location for the Damen headquarters. The Amels we know today began in 1918 as a boat building business in the Northern part of the Netherlands. At the time, Amels was just a small shipyard. Producing about 100 vessels ranging from wooden fishing boats to steel tugboats. With plans to grow the company, Amels eventually moved their small shipyard to the center of Makkum, a quaint village in the Netherlands. There, skilled artisans worked to create stunning ships, all of which paved the way for bigger, more luxurious ships. In the mid-late 1970s, Amels began crafting luxury vessels. This shift in production helped to elevate Amels to a new level. In 1991, Damen acquired Amels, preserving the name “Amels” for its notorious quality and craftmanship.
Growing the brand
Since 1991, Damen has continued to expand its footprint in the luxury yachting market. Taking over his father’s shipyard in 1969, Kommer Damen grew the business from six employees to over 12,000 with 35 shipyards globally. The family-owned legacy of Damen yachts continues to thrive. Today, Amels shipyard creates industry-shattering designs, raising the bar on what is possible. Entering the luxury yacht market in 1982, the 48m KATALINA was the first luxury yacht built by Amels. Situated in Holland, this pristine warehouse continues to produce the highest quality yachts available. Amels is a subsidiary of the Damen Group and is one of the largest luxury yacht builders in Holland.
FULLY CUSTOM YACHTS
When it comes to luxury, Amels are the experts. In addition to fully custom yachts, Amels is known for their Limited-Edition yachts, including the Amels 180, Amels 188, Amels 206, Amels 212, Amels 242, and Amels 272. Most recently, Amels has unveiled three new Limited-Edition designs.
the AMELs 60
The Amels 60 limited-edition yacht is a product of over three years of research and development. Setting the bar to new heights yet again, the Amels 60 offers the yachting experience of a lifetime. A harmonious balance between full custom and semi-custom, the Amels 60 has allowed for faster production time, greater value, and the same notorious Amels quality.
Explore the seven seas without leaving a trace thanks to the cutting-edge hybrid technology. While Hybrid yachts are still relatively new to the world of luxury yachting, Amels has put years of research into making their hybrid models just right. Damen’s in-house design team in collaboration with the in-house research laboratory has created a stunningly efficient yacht.
The Amels 60
From the outside, the Amels 60 is breathtaking. Standing proudly over the water, designer Espen Øino describes the yacht as “a dynamic design for the future.” The Amels 60 boasts 5,231 Sq ft (486 sq m) of exterior deck space. Included in that deck space is a shaded dining area with 360º ocean views, raised level foredeck for sun loungers (also doubles as a helipad), and a steamy six-person jacuzzi.
While the ample exterior spaces aboard the Amels 60 are nothing short of extraordinary, the interior spaces are equally as impressive. The Studio Indigo team has worked tirelessly to create a design concept beyond what is expected. When it comes to the interior design of the Amels 60 yacht, Studio Indigo says this, “Consistency of materials, architectural detailing and form means spaces flow easily into the next, thereby creating the illusion of endless space.” The generous interior space lends itself to the generous ceiling heights of up to 2.2m (7’2”). Exploring the interior of the Amels 60 is like seeing a work of art for the first time. Every room onboard features a new hidden design element, keeping you surrounded by beauty at every turn.
The AMELS 200
The Amels 200 boasts a large volume yet modest carbon footprint. Allowing for unrestricted navigation of the world’s beautiful waters without leaving a trace. At the forefront of sustainability, Amels is committed to building only the highest quality vessels for owners and guests to collect, enjoy, and cherish for years to come.
Combining world-renowned designer Tim Heywood’s expertise with Amels shipyard notorious craftsmanship, it’s no wonder why the Amels 200 is already selling quickly. The Amels 200 features a length of 60m (197’) and a beam of 10.6m (35’). The Amels 200 yacht boasts an impressive gross tonnage of 1,015. The Amels 200 is compliant with the highest emission regulation standards. The efficiency of the Amels 200 lends itself to the commitment to sustainability and a love for the ocean.
THE AMELS 200
When it comes to the sundeck, it doesn’t get much better than this. With a total of 493 square meters (about twice the area of a tennis court) of exterior deck space (5,307 sq ft), the possibilities are endless. The spacious beach club features a sauna, steam shower, and changing room. Additionally, the interior stair access takes you from the Main Deck saloon to the beach club with privacy and comfort. Furthermore, the yacht features an extended fixed stern 31 sq m swim platform (329 sq ft) in teak, with a removable swim ladder. Unveiled by curved glass doors is a massive 7-person jacuzzi along with several plush sunbeds. For your convenience, the deck forward of the jacuzzi converts to a touch-and-go helipad with ease.
The interior of your yacht should feel like home but better. Luckily, the Luxury Projects team has created a space that is sure to feel like home. The ceiling heights aboard the Amels 200 are generous, to say the least, boasting heights of 2.2m (7’2”) on all four guest decks onboard. The dining area features large sliding glass doors, allowing for direct access to not only the dining area but the main saloon as well. The owner’s suite features massive windows, a full office, a stunning en suite bath, and more. All in all, the Amels 200 presents a harmonious balance between luxury and sustainability.
THE AMELS 242
The Amels 242 yacht is 74m (242’) of pure luxury. Described as “the perfect size for a yacht,” the Amels 242 has it all. Perhaps one of the most notable features on board, the dedicated owner’s deck allows for ultimate privacy. Designed to enhance the simple pleasures in life. The main deck offers a 6.7 meter (22 ft) long, 3.4 meters (11 ft) wide swimming pool. The perfect gathering place for family and friends, the pool is surrounded by plush sun chairs.
The interior spaces aboard the Amels 242 are nothing short of extraordinary. Designed by award-winning designer Andrew Winch, the interior of this yacht is truly a work of art. Warm neutral tones create a sense of comfort thought the yacht. As you make your way to the sky lounge, you’ll notice the many unique design elements including the ornate “champagne bar” for guests to relax, have a drink, and enjoy the view. Upon entering the main saloon, guests are greeted with two massive curved doors, opening up to the main saloon and a 14-person dining table.
The owner’s suite is outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows. Spacious his and hers bathrooms also feature large windows for your viewing pleasure. The owner’s deck also features a 75 square-meter Owners Lounge (807 sq ft). Here, sunshine beams through the windows creating the perfect space to unwind.
Perhaps one of the most luxurious spaces onboard, the wellness center and spa. The huge full-beam 75 square-meter (807 sq ft) Wellness Center can be configured into a multipurpose space. Whether you want a jacuzzi, hammam, sauna with an outside window, gym, or indoor wet space with a juice bar, the possibilities are endless.

The seventh hull of the 74m Amels 242 series has emerged from the drydock at Damen Yachting in the Netherlands as she undergoes her final build phase.

Amels 242 hull seven has emerged from the drydock at the Damen Yachting shipyard in the Netherlands. Features the exterior lines of Tim Heywood and naval architecture by Damen Yachting, the 74m megayacht has entered the final build phase before her delivery “ ahead of the summer season” to an owner represented by Imperial.
Equipped with a new IMO Tier III clean emissions power and propulsion package , the 1,790GT build will be delivered within 18 months of her owner’s purchase yet still incorporates customisations. The yacht features custom interiors by Winch Design, accommodation for 12 guests and 19 crew, a dedicated owner’s deck with foredeck jacuzzi, and an increased-capacity helicopter deck.

NOTABLE FEATURES OF AMELS 242: ~Dedicated Owner's deck She has exception manoeuvrability, comfort and quiet cruising capabilities. Her timeless exterior design is incredible and will turn heads at every port and marina. Fold-out terrace in the Wellness centre not only creates closer to the sea experience but also allows for some extra space to worship the sun. The abundance of glazing ensures plenty of light in the interior. The swim platform offers sun loungers and easy access to the water to cool off on a hot day. The main deck aft is equipped with a massive 6.7m x 3.4m swimming pool, sunpads and seating in the shaded area. The upper deck aft invites guests to dine alfresco, socialise and have some refreshments at the bar. The walkaround area with bulwarks leads to the foredeck, which is equipped with Jacuzzi and seating. The owner's deck features a touch-n-go helipad and an ample lounge. Fore of the owner's deck is an elegant relaxation area with panoramic views. On the sundeck, guests can soak in the Jacuzzi surrounded by sunpads. Dutch yard Damen Yachting is celebrating the launch of two new Amels Limited Editions superyachts in a week: The 74-metre Amels 242 and the 60-metre Amels 200. On schedule for delivery in 2024, the yachts mark a milestone as the first pair of Damen Yachting models to hit the water in the same week.

About Amels 242. Amels 242 is a 74 m / 242′10″ luxury motor yacht. She was built by Amels in 2019. With a beam of 12.45 m and a draft of 3.95 m, she has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. This adds up to a gross tonnage of 1790 tons. She is powered by MTU engines giving her a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.
SYNTHESIS stems from the successful Amels 242 in our Limited Editions range. Her experienced Owner is a repeat Amels client and has customised this yacht to meet their personal requirements. SYNTHESIS features a dedicated Owners Deck with foredeck jacuzzi. There is a significant focus on blending the interior into the exterior throughout.
Dutch yard Amels has opened up about its latest 74 metre superyacht New Secret, which has lived up to her name until now. Sold in September 2015 by Fraser Yachts, she was delivered in May as the second Amels Limited Editions 242 yacht with all details kept under wraps, but less than a month before her Monaco Yacht Show debut, the veil of secrecy has been partially lifted.
