Located 38 kilometres (24 miles) south of Chennai on the way to the rock cut temples of Mahabalipuram, Taj Fisherman's Cove Resort & Spa is one of the most luxurious beach resorts in Tamil Nadu. Built around the ruins of a Dutch Fort, all 88 air-conditioned rooms and cottages are beautifully located within the tropical gardens or beside the Bay of Bengal. The spacious rustic cottages have an outdoor sitting area and open-air garden showers. Restaurants include one serving multi-cuisine and alfresco dining on fresh seafood from off the Coromandel coast on the beach itself.

Covelong Beach ( Fisherman's Cove ), quiet and far away from the distractions of the city lies close to Mahabalipuram, famous for its unique 7th century shore Temples. It has a host of activities designed to make your stay memorable, if you love the outdoors and culture. It is built on the ramparts of an old Dutch Fort and set amidst whispering casuarina and palm trees.

Fisherman's Cove is a snug resort. Covelong is a nice beach between Madras(Chennai) and Mahabalipuram and a small charming fishing settlement. It was originally a port built by Saadat Ali, Nawab of Carnatic and it was here that the French General Laboudonnais landed his troops in 1746. Later taken by Clive in 1752 and destroyed. The Beach is separated from the mainland by the canal running from Madras(Chennai) to Mahabalipuram. This famous 5 Star hotel is called Fishermans' Cove . Taj Group of Hotels runs the Fisherman Cove Resort with rooms in the main buildings and cottages and the sandy beach here.

A life gaurd will accompany you and trust me, you cant get more than this, dont worry even if you want you cant sink, you cant swim either, all you can do is stay there in water and do all the stunts. Very Good stay.”

The resort is situated in an excellent location near Kovalam. The rooms are clean and tidy. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was very welcoming. The food options were satisfactory. However, I encountered an issue with the air conditioning in my room. Despite making multiple requests, the problem was not resolved. Aside from this, my overall stay was pleasant. The resort has a private beach with complimentary activities for children. In conclusion, it was a satisfactory stay.

Booked 2 Superior king rooms for our family but we were upgraded to Garden View rooms. Rooms were exceptional. Resort's view were breathtaking. Indoor games, cycling available. Best of the lot is swimming pool which made the day for my kid. It also has inhouse small restaurant. Beach is very clean with activities like kite, cricket, volleyball etc..in the evening. Complimentary breakfast is very good. Flip side, it will take more time for the staff to respond when you call the reception. Food/Beverages is extremely costly. Worth the time.

We traveled with 2 kids.Resort was super.My kids enjoyed a lot at the private beach they have and it was very clean . They have kept some activities to play at beach and was nice. Have nice indoor activities and resort was big enough to spend more time there peacefully. Food is also good and provided breakfast and dinner. But felt prices were higher if order separately. Better to have some reasonable prices so people will order more. Overall experience is fantastic.

A true 5 star experience ”

The property lives up to the Taj hospitality and premium experience. The location and the entire area is fabulous and well maintained. You do not need to step out of the resort and can experience it in full. It has a private beach with activities. The pool is big and temp controlled along with a bar makes it a place where you can chill for hours. There are 3 restaurants to try out with great views. The buffet is not super lavish but more than adequate. Most importantly the hospitality is definitely 4/5 notches above the other 5 stars that we usually visit. Special thanks to Mr. Gaurav - F&B Manager, Mr. Tapan - Sous Chef and Mr. Abby - Exec House keeper for the extra attention to detail. Will definitely visit again. All the best.
