Hunter 19-2. What size and type plug is used on the ballast vent?

My project Hunter 19-2 is moving along. The boat came with no plug in the water ballast tank vent. I tried a 1" drain plug and it slid right in and out even when cocked. I figure it might be a 1-1/8" or 1-1/4" or is it metric? What size and type plug is in your boat's ballast vent hole, a regular boat transom plug, a bait well plug, or ??? Thanks, Jim B  

I bought a new one for my ballast tank vent because the rubber on my plug was getting tired. I had the same problem as you so... I’ll be watching this thread with some interest.

The vent plug is the style by turning the handle, the black rubber plug enlargens to a size to match the hole. When pushing the handle down, it locks in place. @Dave Groshong Check the 240 plug if it does what I described above and adapt to all hunter water ballast

General condition and any additional information

I bought this boat in early summer to learn how to sail. Mission accomplished.

The boat is ready to sail and I plan to take it out once a week until it sells.

If you are new to the sport, I will show you how to step the mast w/ my custom one-man system.

Hull is in excellent condition, sails are decent, rigging is strong, Nissan 4.5 outboard runs well, cabin is super clean.

The head and galley stove have never been used.

I trailer it to Lake Mendota in Madison, WI, but if you plan on mooring it, you will probably want new bottom paint.

Trailer tires, bearings, and lights are good. Spare included.

Has a Nissan 4.5 outboard that runs well. It is configured for an external tank that sits under the cockpit seat.

The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.

Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL

Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio .311 Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64) 2/3

• SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
• D : Displacement in pounds.

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Ballast / Displacement * 100

Displacement / Length Ratio

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.

D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
• LWL: Waterline length in feet

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam 1.33 )

• Download the map, inside it is a zip-archive with the folder "Small luxury yacht".
• Go to Minecraft, the main menu will appear.
• Press the "Single Player" button, a list of saved worlds will appear.
• Select any saved world, the buttons below will be activated.
• Press the "Edit" button, the world settings menu will appear.
• Click the "Open world folder" button, the Explorer window will open.
• Go to the "saves" folder, a list of folders of saved Minecraft worlds will appear.
• Copy the "Small luxury yacht" folder (from the zip archive in step #4) to the "saves" folder.
• Return to Minecraft.
• Return to the main menu so that the menu item "Single Player" appears.
• Click the "Single Player" menu again to make the new map appear in the list.
