Widely known as Regal’s ‘have-it-all’ cruiser, the bestselling 33 Express ably delivers on this promise, even rivalling some of its larger competitors thanks to Regal’s innovative full-beam design.

Onlookers at the marina will quickly note the distance between the substantial swim platform and the transom seat, just one of many features on this boat that evokes the feel of a much larger yacht. But for those just emerging from the water after a morning swim or an afternoon dive, the platform is only a few short steps from the cockpit, where plenty of social seating awaits. For safety, a transom walk-thru door offers peace of mind. After you rinse off with the nifty transom shower, head up to the 4-position Ultralounge and decide what the rest of the day will bring. Adjust it to create an aft-facing seat, fold down the bolster to create a luxe chaise longue with a backrest – you can even transform it into a sunpad. The seat platform itself moves further aft with the push of a button, adding 11 inches onto the transom for the ultimate at-anchor lounge spot.

For al fresco dinners, the UltraLounge’s forward configuration is ideal, providing seating for at least two facing a rich teak table and a further double-wide seat for guests or kids. This seat, too, is adjustable, capable of facing aft or forward depending on your mood. When the backrest is pushed aft, a sumptuous forward-facing chaise-longue is created, ideal for lounging as you chat to the captain. Here, the seating extends all the way forward, offering ample seating space. The premium handstitched vinyl upholstery exudes true craftsmanship and lends a luxuriously convivial energy to this conversation space. A wet bar with an optional smokeless grill is conveniently nearby, just to starboard, with a standard sink, fridge, trash receptacle, and other storage. Whether you’re cooking up hot dogs and hamburgers or mixing up your favorite cocktails (or both), the aft cockpit is a remarkable space to enjoy the surrounding beauty and company.

When it comes to power, owners have a choice of four outstanding twin Volvo engine options: the 560HP V6 280 Coastal Series, 560HP V6 280s, 600HP V8 300s, and 700HP V8 350s. Owners who opt for a pair of V8 300s can expect top speeds of around 46MPH and a gentler cruising pace of around 20MPH, while V8 350s kick things up a notch to 52MPH.

The helm is exceptionally well-laid out, with all controls and navigation equipment close to hand. A double-wide seat is a thoughtful touch, sure to make memories when you enlist one of your loved ones as co-pilot, while a flip-up bolster makes it easy to adjust to your height. A premium Volvo Glass 12-inch display, joystick, autopilot, trim tabs, and tilt band are user-friendly, ensuring a smooth and quiet ride. The Fusion stereo system can also be accessed from here, should you wish to play both captain and DJ. Central steps leading to the foredeck slide away to reveal the companionway, a brilliantly simple feature that showcases Regal’s ethos of elegant functionality. Out on the bow, owners have the option to install a large sunpad, while high stainless-steel rails allow safe access to the bow locker.

Below deck, the 33 Express reveals hidden depths. Upon entry, guests will be greeted by a surprisingly well-lit salon. Served by a discreet teak table, a long L-shaped settee extends along the entire starboard side of this space, snaking forward and to port – the perfect spot to repair to after an evening of al fresco revelry. One of the more impressive features of this space is the stunning galley. Beyond its impeccable cabinetry, the galley boasts all the comforts of a good home kitchen: a sink, refrigerator, full-size microwave, and an optional alcohol/electric cooktop. When not in use for entertainment, the settee converts into a forward queen-sized berth.

It is the owner’s suite, however, that is the standout feature of the lower deck. The only king-sized berth in its class, this cabin offers truly unique levels of space and comfort. It is also highly adaptable and can be converted into two twin beds. Large hullside windows provide views and ensure this airy space never feels cramped. With two Fusion speakers, you can enjoy your favorite music or turn your cabin into a mini-cinema. A generous cedar-lined hanging locker offers safe and fragrant refuge for your belongings, while a floor locker offers further space to store larger items. Regal has not compromised when it comes to the head. Located centrally, just forward of the owner’s suite, the head benefits from a pleasing layout, with a large vessel sink, a large window with a curtain, and a fixed ceiling shower head for true live-aboard comfort.

The Cape Dory 33 ft. Express Yacht and other 33 ft. models were originally designed and developed by Cape Dory Boats, Robin Hood and Nauset Marine.  Many boats were produced by all companies and remain in use for personal or charter use throughout North America and into the Caribbean.

Initial production for Cape Dory Cruisers will begin with the Cape Dory Marinaut 220 and the Cape Dory 25 ft. Center Console and Express series.  The 33 ft. Yachts will be phased into production and be offered on a Semi-Custom basis.
