Feadship's highly secretive 103m superyacht Ulysses delivered
The highly secretive 103-metre Feadship superyacht Ulysses has now been delivered to her owner following sea trials in November. Formerly known only as Feadship 1011, she is owned by Graeme Hart, New Zealand's wealthiest man.
Ulysses had been kept tightly under wraps until she was spotted on transport from Feadship's Makkum site to its Amsterdam facility, marking the first time the yacht's distinctive clean lines and squared-off deck design had been seen since she hit the water in October 2023.
Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design is behind the exterior, and Feadship has said that the yacht's modern profile uses 1,100 square metres of exterior glass that culminates in twenty exterior sliding doors, twelve glass windbreaks and six-metre panels of glass along the main deck guest cabins.
Ulysses follows in the footsteps of famous yachts under the same name, including two Kleven -built explorers and the 74-metre CRN yacht Odyssey (now known as Andrea ).
The yard has said it was challenged to maintain many of the same elements as the owner's previous yacht of 6,000 GT, but condensed into a package of around half the size. Feadship also revealed that a two-tier engine room on a yacht of this size "is virtually obligatory", but the yard was able to maintain the engine room to just one deck to devote more space to guest areas.
Key features of the new build include a 15-metre-long tender garage, representing the largest shell door that Feadship has ever built. Elsewhere, the yacht is also home to four exterior hot tubs, a swimming pool that covers the entire height of the main deck and a helicopter hangar concealed in the foredeck. On the interior, the yacht has a glass staircase and elevator in the main atrium.
The yacht is an all-Dutch build, with naval architecture by Azure Yacht Design . The project is the fourth largest Feadship to be built to date, following the 118.2-metre Feadship 821 and Feadship 1010 , both currently in build at the shipyard, and the 110-metre Anna .
Ulysses is the 10th collaboration between Feadship and Sinot after teaming up on vessels such as Lonian and Aquarius .
“As a repeat client and Feadship fan who has built his own yachts in the past, the client had a very clear idea of what we are capable of and pushed the boundaries in terms of design and engineering,” said Feadship director and CEO, Henk de Vries. “He wanted to be part of the team, which ordinarily is something we try to avoid, but he was fully prepared to collaborate and our working relationship ended up being both friendly and fun!”
Damen Yachting 's U-81 will serve as Ulysses ' support vessel.

Graeme Hart’s new superyacht revealed after secret construction, Amsterdam trip

New Zealand’s richest man has been linked to a new 103-metre “megayacht” in Amsterdam featuring enough space for 40 crew and 20 guests.
Hart’s daughter Gretchen Hawkesby shared photos yesterday of herself, Hart and family on a trip to Amsterdam for the boat launch.
The superyacht had been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks.
Boat International said Feadship 1011 was recently spotted on the move and featured “distinctive clean lines and squared-off deck design”.
Construction of the vessel was shrouded in secrecy.
“Formerly known only as Feadship 1011, the highly secretive 103m Feadship superyacht project has now been named Ulysses,” Boat International added.
That is the same name one of Hart’s previous superyachts had, a 107m Norwegian-built explorer yacht the billionaire sold in 2017.
“Project 1011 is almost ready to start sea trials, which means Feadship and everyone else involved can finally reveal some specs about it since keeping it a secret won’t be possible anymore,” Auto Evolution reported.
“With an exterior design by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design over naval architecture by Azure Yacht Design, it boasts interiors by Sinot and a total length on water of 102.6 meters (336.7 feet), which technically makes it a megayacht,” the website added.
Hart left school at 16 and built a business empire.
Rank Group, which Hart owns, houses businesses that operate internationally in the packaging, consumer goods and building supplies industries.
He lives in Auckland but most of his investments are overseas.

New Zealand's richest man's new superyacht has been revealed after weeks of speculation.
Graeme Hart's 103m yacht was spotted in Amsterdam, featuring enough space for 20 crew and 18 guests.
More from Newshub
His daughter, Gretchen Hawkesby, shared a collection of photos including herself, Hart and other family members on Instagram, while on a trip to Amsterdam for the boat launch.
The freshly renovated, pristine white superyacht has been the subject of much speculation over the past month.
Boat International revealed the yacht includes four exterior hot tubs, a swimming pool that covers the entire height of the main deck and a helicopter hangar concealed in the foredeck.
On the interior, the yacht has a glass staircase and an elevator in the main atrium.
"The yacht has maintained a single-deck engine room, which is no easy feat for a yacht of this size," Boat International reported.
Formerly known as Feadship 1011, the yacht has now been named Ulysses.
Boat International said the yacht was spotted recently in transport from Feadship's Makkum site to its Amsterdam facility.
They described the yacht as having "distinctive clean lines" and a "squared-off deck design".
Feadship revealed the yacht includes 1100sqm of exterior glass used in twenty exterior sliding doors, 12 glass windbreaks and 6m panels of glass along the main deck guest cabins.
Ulysses is the same name as one of Hart's previous superyachts which he sold in 2017.
The project is the fourth largest Feadship to be built to date, following the 118.2m Feadship 821 and Feadship 1010, both currently in build at the shipyard, and the 110m Anna. The superyacht is set to embark on sea trials later this year.
