ISA ALLOY 43 metre – MY/AGORA IIISleekness and elegance to the third power
ISA 43-metre Alloy is the first semi-displacement unit of the new aluminum line to widen the selection of proposals by the ISA Yachts brand (which includes: the Classic, Gran Turismo, Sport and Super Sport models) while maintaining the characteristic elements distinguishing the 33 models delivered by the shipyard to date. Interiors and exteriors have been skilfully designed by LUCA DINI Design & Architecture. Renamed “Agora III”, the ISA 43-metre Alloy will be the largest private yacht in Japan
The design of the new ISA Yachts 43-metre with aluminum hull and superstructure stems from the stylistic search for clean, essential and streamlined external lines to enhance the sporty and at the same time elegant character of this yacht, combining past with present, innovation with tradition, in a sort of modern classicism. The naval architecture is by Francesco Rogantin, while the interior and exterior design is by LUCA DINI Design & Architecture. This project blends a modern concept with the ISA Yachts family style also characterized by the large side arches connecting the cockpit to the superstructure and integrating the air intakes so to recall the look of some famous sports cars.
Its predominant details, all inspired by automotive stylistic elements, are:
- the wheelhouse side exits with gull-wing doors,
- the skylights integrated into the roof of the master cabin on the forward main deck,
- the roof and roll-bar mouldings,
- the ventilation grilles and the three external side slits,
- the black tinted glass surfaces integrated into continuous bands and flowing as in the best tradition of Italian yacht design.
The interior style, as well as the layout, have been designed with the aim of conferring a refined, elegant and personalized look. In this regard, the choice of materials falls on the most treasured raw materials such as precious stones, woods and silks. The interior spaces are designed to create a strong interaction between interior, outdoor spaces and the direct contact with the sea thanks to special fold-out balconiesnear the lounge area of the main deck, able to provide the most evocative views while comfortably sitting on the sofas. Between the lounge and the dining area, 5 column cupboards in dark wood act as a divider for these two rooms characterized by natural stones. The full-width owner’s suite is located in the forward main deck together with the spacious bathroom and it includes also a relaxation area with of a comfortable sofa and a vanity on one side and a reading chair on the other. The master cabin can be reached from the main foyer through a first anteroom where we find access to the owner’s dressing, an “office” and a “dormeuse” area connected to each other by sinuous and organic lines.
Once in the sky-lounge, we find the upper-deck private salon designed as a comfortable living area that turns into a cinema thanks to the retractable TV. Here, the large full-width aft window opens onto the large private cockpit furnished with an outdoor dining area, a living area and sun loungers. Still on this deck, we find the captain’s cabin with direct access to the wheelhouse which, to maintain the sleek and sporty lines, has been positioned at an intermediate level between main and upper deck.
On the lower deck, instead, the transom door folds down to create a large beach club like afantastic balcony on the sea. A dressing room and a day toilet adjacent to the beach area allow guests to fully enjoy this space. The layout of the guest area, on the same deck, was designed to house two large VIP cabins aft and two large guest cabins with single beds plus a pullman-bed each so to accommodate up to a total of 10 guests.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
ISA Alloy 43 is powered by two 2,000 hp MTUs, providing a top speed of 20 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 18 knots. By reducing the speed to 12 knots, the predicted range easily exceeds 3,500 nautical miles. On the owner’s specific request, this semi-displacement superyacht aims at the best mix between performance and comfort with a particular focus on noise and vibration reduction. Its 43-metre length and 8.10-metre beam are accompanied by another main characteristic that is the reduced draft at only 2.3 metres to allow reaching secluded shallow coves.

Isa Yachts – Agora III
The sea trial was pubblished in Superyacht 63 – Autumn 2019
Initialled by Luca Dini Design studio, this new Alloy 43 metre built by Isa Yachts which has recently become part of Gruppo Palumbo, is a semi-displacing motor yacht which has maintained some of the characterizing traits from the historic Ancona based yard even if her looks have been changed considerably.
A flash in the pan. This is the term attributed to people, top celebrities and things that have been very trendy, for a very, very short time. To remain on track in the yachting world more than flashes in the pans we could talk about “rocks”. The yachting scene has in fact seen many yards go on the rocks at the very same speed they rose, mostly so during the recession which hit several Countries like a freak wave, causing a great deal of damage and leaving behind many a wreck. Among the numerous ones reported ‘missing’, in 2014 there was also ISA Yachts, an Ancona based yard which began in 2001 and in less than a decade had consolidated its standing among the most successful Italian brands thanks also to Walter Franchini an iconic designer whose awesome stairways looked monumental when viewed from the stern. Therefore not a real flash in the pan. Fortunately it didn’t take that long for the yard to surface again from wherever it had plunged to. But more than luck, the return is thanks to Gruppo Palumbo which managed to acquire ISA Yachts in 2016 and to add it to its collection through Palumbo Superyachts division already owners of Colombus and Palumbo SY brands. And in view of the group’s policy to expand while aiming to bolster their core business, which is refit & repair and has already conquered a consolidated network in all the Mediterranean basin driven by Palumbo SY, the Group has acquired Ancona’s historic premises and more recently Mondomarine’s shipyard in Savona as well.
ISA’s return is not going to be a one-hit wonder. In fact it did not take long for the yard to deliver 120’ “Clorinda”, forecast new range of yachts, sign contracts for the sale of a 45 metre Granturismo, a 50 metre and a 65 metre initialled by designer Enrico Gobbi, while branching off towards new markets with a “substitute” brand called Extra Yachts of which several units drawn up by Francesco Guida have already been sold as well 100 metre Crossbow in collaboration with Sergio Cutolo’s Hydro Tec. Agora lll on the other hand is Luca Dini’s work. This 43 metre which has recently hit the water in Ancona is the forefather of the new Alloy line. Dini developed a design for this aluminium alloy semi-displacing yacht which is in line with Isa’s preceding 33 models sold by inserting several details recalling products from the automotive industry. Like the air vents dug out from lateral arcs which in turn wish to evoke those initially introduced by Franchini as a railing to his historic stairways.
The styling of the interiors by Luca Dini is sophisticated and modern without being minimalist. The furniture and accessories installed into detailed areas, where precious raw materials, fine fabrics, stones and essences alternate creating a soft well balanced chromatic contrast. The layout has been developed to guarantee strong interaction between inside and out deploying see through cut glass sliding doors, terraces which open outwards towards the sea from the yacht’s top sides to enhance further contact with the surroundings and to be able to look out as far as the horizon while being comfortably seated in the main deck’s lounge area. The upper deck hosts a living/saloon area which as need be can convert into a movie theatre thanks to an enormous pop up television set. Passing through a huge set of cut glass sliding doors towards the exteriors there is a large area divided into three micro areas comprising : a dining spot, a day zone and a sunbathing area. Still on this same deck, there’s also the captain’s cabin with direct access to the helm controls station which sports two lateral winglets to enhance better vision when manoeuvring in restricted waters and when mooring. Lowering the transom’s built in tailgate you access the beach club, a terrace on the sea with an area in which to relax, a changing room and a bathroom. Equipped with a pair of 2,000 HP MTU engines, “Agora lll” tops a speed of 20 knots, which can go down to 18 when cruising fast. But the best compromise between speed and performance is precisely at 12 knots at which speed the yacht’s range is of 3,500 nautical miles. For further information: Isa Yachts
