Silver Wind can run at a maximum speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 21-22 knots with a “traditional” propulsion system consisting of two MTU marine diesel engines driving two Rolls-Royce Kamewa waterjets through reduction gear-boxes, and navigate at low speed of 8 knots with two main engines OFF, where the two waterjets are powered by two electric motors connected to the gearbox.

In electric mode, the total fuel consumption is 90 l/h for a range of 2600 nm, so for yacht transfer without guests onboard, consumption drops from 55 l/nm at max yacht speed to 11 l/nm with electric mode on.

Elegant Interior

All guests will feel the fabulous quality of materials by Hermes & Armani Casa and world-class design by Nuvolari Lenard chosen for the interior of Silver Wind.

Silver Wind’s interior combines fine woods such as walnut, high gloss ebony, satin rosewood and bleached walnut along with Hermes and Armani Casa upholstery on the walls and a wonderful flow of detail through the cabins. The master bathroom features ivory onyx and arco iris onyx and in the guest areas azul macauba, rosa Portugal and cipollino Greco with mother of pearl trim. All showers feature handmade custom mosaics from well-known Sicis.

Intelligent Layout

The superb split level master suite is forward on the main deck. Flowing elegantly from the private study/office area to the sleeping and lounging area and onto to the bathroom. 3 Double guest suites are located on the lower deck, comprising the full beam VIP forward, 2 doubles on the port side, one twin as well as one pullman on starboard.

All guests cabins feature ANC “Active Noice Cancelling”, which is the same technology found in highest quality headphones.

The lower deck also accommodates the Captain’s double cabin and the dedicated spa and gym area. Further aft on the lower deck are the crew areas and galley, mainly accessed via the service stairway to the main deck.

Onyx and marbles are blended with special decorative elements, art glass cascade, mother of pearls trimming and carved metal panels. Fabrics are surely one of the most interesting design motifs, Armani Casa and Hermes upholstery distinguish the wall’s decoration repeating a pattern which is a trait and a tribute to early 20th-century French style, as well as the metal straw marquetry which accompanies the other sophisticated finishes in the main deck that includes the owner apartment. The 43.6 metre Silver Wind is the perfect choice for an action-packed superyacht charter in the Mediterranean. Built in 2014 by the Italian shipyard ISA, Silver Wind combines the very best of Italian yacht building and design. We talk to Captain Tora Ehrlich to find out what makes a superyacht charter experience on board Silver Wind an unforgettable one.

What makes Silver Wind the perfect charter yacht?

We are a very happy, passionate crew who take pride in our jobs, and this really shows in each of our charters. With fabulous food and flawless service, we create a relaxed atmosphere onboard that’s tailored to the client's preferences. As an experienced crew, we also understand that summer holidays are one of the few precious moments of downtime for every guest. Charter clients never have to waste a moment of their holiday. She's a very fast yacht and, combined with the entire crew's unparalleled knowledge of our cruising grounds, our guests can go from a hidden cove outside Saint Tropez to lunch in Monaco's glamorous Port Hercules quickly and in style. Every moment is one that is cherished, and the shallow draught of the boat also allows us to anchor at the best locations and swim spots, so our guests have an extra advantage!

What kind of charter experience can clients expect?

With the sleek, white interiors of Silver Wind, guests can enjoy a relaxed and elegant environment. We welcome a wide range of clients on board throughout winter and summer, but our usual clientele is a more relaxed, fun group or a family. Due to her fast design and performance, a charter holiday on board is better suited to clients who enjoy heading to beautiful lunch spots and then heading back into port in the evenings to enjoy a night exploring a new town.

How are the boat and the crew prepared to accommodate young guests?

Our deck crew are very talented and passionate about watersports - our younger guests always appreciate being able to get out on the water and have some fun during their charter holiday. Understanding the ocean and having the top watersports techniques and tips, the crew can make it a fun, active holiday for teenagers and younger children alike. We've also got a lot of great living spaces that can accommodate relaxed family lunches, like the large oval seating area on the fly bridge.

What are some of the main issues clients can experience when chartering a superyacht?

We go above and beyond to ensure that our guests don't experience issues on their charter vacation! The only challenge that we do not have control over is weather-related, which can sometimes lead to a change in the desired itinerary. We continuously monitor the weather and keep clients informed as we progress, but we've always got an excellent plan B. Another worry some clients may have is with any language barriers. We have a strong, multi-national team, so if a client’s English isn't strong, usually it's no problem. Our chief stewardess spends time translating each menu, bar label and note to appropriate languages, so everyone is catered for. 

Tell us more about the toys and tenders on board Silver Wind.

She’s a fantastic charter yacht for those who are looking to make the most of days out on the water. We have a five-metre Castoldi Jet Tender which is perfect for runs from those fantastic little lunch spots. We also have a towable inflatable four-seater sofa, waterskis and wakeboards. Two of our crew members are experienced waterski and wakeboard instructors, which offers the convenience of learning a new sport in complete safety right from the yacht. Our two jet skis are the versatile SeaDoo sparks, very lightweight and nimble, and a cool addition to our toy inventory! Other watersports equipment available on board include SeaBobs, kayaks, paddle boards and kneeboards so from young children to grandparents, we have a toy that suits

How do the crew provide something different for each guest?

We are a really close team and we love going the extra mile for our guests. Small things make a difference: we like to make takeaway jars and boxes of their favourite treats they enjoyed while on board, with tailored notes accompanying. Depending on the client's preferences, we also offer an individually-tailored turn down each evening, which can include anything from notes to flowers to elaborate petal arrangements! I like to be involved with the guests and I love to offer personalised sunset lookout tours followed by picnic basket and champagne.

We have clients who have been chartering superyachts for over 20 years, and there's no greater feeling for us than these guests coming to us at the end of their charter to tell us how wonderful their experience has been. Working on board a superyacht isn't just a job, it's a lifestyle, and that's why Silver Wind’s crew are dedicated to making each and every charter a fantastic experience.

With J/Boats’ “E” Series of versatile performance sailing yachts, the “E” is for elegance and evolution in performance cruising design.

36 feet is a magic size in the J/Boats line-up. With a spacious two-cabin accommodation plan and a comfortable, ergonomic cockpit, the J/112E is as well suited for the annual cruise as she is sprinting to Mackinac Island or short-handing through rough weather. Versatility in sailboat design means not only a sailboat that can do many things, but one that can do them across a wide range of conditions, both fair and adverse.

The J/112E joins her sisterships, the J/97E and J/122E, as an exceptional upwind performer. V-shaped bow sections provide superior directional stability and reduced slamming in waves. Freeboard forward and topside flare help to keep the deck dry. A long waterline combined with a low vertical center of gravity results in a smooth, sea-kindly motion - more like that of a 40 footer.

J/112E is a moderate displacement design with a high aspect, non-overlapping sailplan. This efficient set-up provides ample sail power in light winds (while most others are motoring), and easy to down-shift options when the wind builds. J’s are known for being able to sail well under mainsail alone, jib alone, and nearly any combination of mainsail and small jib. The J/112E is no exception. All one needs is a mainsail and 105% jib to enjoy easy, high performance sailing in winds from 5 to 25 knots. For downwind fun with minimal effort and crew, one can deploy the asymmetric spinnaker from the retractable carbon sprit.
