As a family company now in the fourth generation, we can look back on a successful past – while confidently looking ahead to the future. We take on every task in the process: from project management and engineering to production, assembly and installation. Yacht interiors have been our core business for the last 30 years. During this time, we have worked with designers and yacht owners from all over the world – while expanding and modernising our portfolio. If required, our project managers, designers and fitters will travel around the world to service, repair and do other work on the yacht.

Just curious...on YF, we have a wonderful list of Naval Architects and Designers. I was wondering about the possibility of adding/creating a list of companies who do the interior builds. I am familiar with companies like Metrica as well as an Austrian company called List. I am sure there are numerous other companies in other countries that also do excellent work.. Many thanks,

"Die Oldenburger" from northern Germany. They made the interior of Vitters' "African Queen" (now Ven d'est) and "Nirvana". Also some Lürssen Builds: Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten GmbH: Referenzen Alv Klintscher makes Yacht Interiors (Design and Building) and there was a Company called "Bröwer" near Osnabrück, Germany. Website is down. I don't know if they are still in business.

Rodiek was started by an Abekings Carpenter with assistance of the late Herman Schaedla as the need to expand the woodwork operation became apparent. They also do a bit for Lurssen and others but are predominately Abekings Interior Outfitters.

Hi, I don't know for sure. As what seems to be a separate operation I think they can bid anywhere but Abeking get first dibs on the production

I know that English is a 2nd language for many of our readers, but based on Hanse's writing, his English is good. He ignored the Rules regarding promotion, mentioned three times during the registration process. K1W1 already supplied a link to the company in this thread.

You might know the german furniture manufacturer Loher however it seems that they were renamed Vedder now... They are responsible for various Lürssen projects but also yachts like "Eclipse". Abeking & Rasmussen delivers M/Y Soaring

The 68m project was delivered on schedule despite challenges posed by the pandemic….

Two weeks before the 68m M/Y Soaring was scheduled to be handed over, half of Europe went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But, with the help of a crisis management team, elaborate safety and hygiene protocols and the implementation of a two-shift production approach, Abeking & Rasmussen  was able to deliver the yacht on time. 

Built for an experienced owner, the brief for the project listed, among other things, a separate owner’s deck with aft-looking master suite, the largest possible tender and a gym and wellness centre with direct access to the water. Focus Yacht Design created a distinctive exterior design with prominent window surface, an elegant grey-white colour scheme and a striking line all the way from the bow to the swim platform. 

“Our goal was not to put together a selection of attractive details, but to create a coherent and harmonious whole that was to be simultaneously impressive and imposing but most of all a reflection and representation of the owner’s central life themes and requests,” explains Soaring ’s designer Thomas Muhe. “Early on it was clear that the owner valued originality and had no interest in a yacht that could easily be mistaken for another.”

Interior work was done by Klaus Rodiek GmbH to the Focus Yacht Design specifications. They worked primarily with two types of wood, Amara and Tiama, natural stone and genuine Italian leather. The supremely outfitted living space used by the owner and his guests totals 471sqm.

Having delivered at least one project annually since 2010, Abeking & Rasmussen is one of the most active German superyacht builders. According to data provided by The Superyacht Agency , 2021 will be the first year that the builder has not delivered a project since 2006. This is due to the scheduled delivery of 118m Project 6507, the shipyard’s largest project to date, being pushed to 2022.

Abeking & Rasmussen delivers 74.5m superyacht Elandess

German Yard Abeking and Rasmussen has delivered its new 74.5 metre superyacht Elandess . First announced in the 2016 Global Order Book , this 2,065GT steel and aluminium yacht was styled inside and out by the London-based Harrison Eidsgaard design studio. Following her delivery, Elandess has been spotted making her way up the Thames to London on her maiden voyage.

Burgess Technical Services provided project management services and acted as the owner’s representatives. This is the owners’ second yacht with Abeking & Rasmussen but the marks first collaboration between the German yard and Harrison Eidsgaard.

Elandess has a distinctive exterior styling with an axe-bow, dark hull and low-slung superstructure. The yard has previously explained that the naval architecture was developed in-house with the so-called ‘Atlantic bow’ creating a fine entry point. The name of this feature hints at Elandess's ocean-crossing cruising range, but engine installations and fuel capacity is yet to be released.

The owner's brief called for modern and spacious yacht that would be equally suited for relaxed family time or entertaining. Much of the interior spaces are open plan and flexible by design to accommodate such needs. There are also a variety of interesting communal spaces, from the 8 x 2.5 metre  superyacht swimming pool  on the massive sun deck to the Nemo Lounge below the waterline and an observation lounge on the upper deck.

Guest accommodation is split across six staterooms, including an  owner’s cabin  on the main deck. The interior fitting was carried out in collaboration with Rodiek, who previously worked with the boatbuilder on the 60 metre  Kaiser , which hit the water in 2011. It is believed Elandess' name is inspired by the first initials of her two owners.
