Jay R. Bloom

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairman

Mr. Bloom is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairman of GX Acquisition Corp. and GX Acquisition Corp. II. Mr. Bloom is a Managing Partner of Trimaran, which he Co-Founded in 1998, and serves as a Manager of Trimaran Fund II, an existing private equity fund. Trimaran and affiliated entities have managed, through Trimaran Fund Management, L.L.C., private equity funds, collateralized loan obligations, and hedge funds.  Prior to Trimaran, Mr. Bloom was a Managing Director and Vice Chairman of CIBC World Markets Corp. (“CIBC”), where he was responsible for CIBC’s United States and European Merchant Banking activities, which were conducted through the CIBC Funds. Prior to CIBC, Mr. Bloom was a Co-Founder of The Argosy Group (“Argosy”), a boutique investment bank that engaged in leveraged finance activities and principal investing.  Argosy was acquired by CIBC in 1995.  Prior to Argosy, Mr. Bloom was a Managing Director of Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., and before that he was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers.  Mr. Bloom also practiced law at Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison. Mr. Bloom graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University with a B.S degree, from the Cornell SC Johnson Business School with an M.B.A degree and from Columbia University School of Law with a J.D. degree.

Dean C. Kehler

Mr. Kehler is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairman of GX Acquisition Corp. and GX Acquisition Corp. II. Mr. Kehler is a Managing Partner of Trimaran, which he Co-Founded in 1998, and serves as a Manager of Trimaran Fund II, an existing private equity fund. Trimaran and affiliated entities have managed, through Trimaran Fund Management, L.L.C., private equity funds, collateralized loan obligations, and hedge funds.  Prior to Trimaran, Mr. Kehler was a Managing Director and Vice Chairman of CIBC, where he was responsible for CIBC’s United States and European Merchant Banking activities, which were conducted through the CIBC Funds.  In addition, Mr. Kehler was responsible for overseeing CIBC’s United States and European Leveraged Finance businesses, which included financial sponsor coverage; acquisition finance; high yield origination, underwriting, sales and trading; private placements; and financial restructuring advisory services.  Prior to CIBC, Mr. Kehler was a Co-Founder of Argosy, a boutique investment bank that engaged in leveraged finance activities and principal investing.  Argosy was acquired by CIBC in 1995.  Prior to Argosy, Mr. Kehler was a Managing Director of Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., and before that he was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Kehler graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael G. Maselli

Mr. Maselli is the President of Acquisitions for GX Acquisition Corp. II and he was the Vice President of Acquisitions for GX Acquisition Corp. Mr. Maselli has been a Managing Director of Trimaran Fund Management, L.L.C. since 2003. Mr. Maselli has guided companies and their boards as a director or advisor for over 30 years. Before joining Trimaran, Mr. Maselli worked in the Corporate and Leverage Finance Groups of CIBC. Prior to joining CIBC in 1997, Mr. Maselli served as a Managing Director in Bear Stearns’ corporate finance group and, prior to that, as a Vice President at Kidder Peabody & Co. Incorporated. Since, 2011, Mr. Maselli has served as the Chairman of the Board of El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc.  (Ticker: LOCO, NASDAQ).  From 2013 to 2015, he served on the board of directors of Norcraft Companies, Inc., and served on the board of managers of its predecessor company beginning in 2003. Additionally, Mr. Maselli served on the board of directors of ChanceLight, Inc. and Standard Steel, LLC, and was director as well as Chairman of the Board of CB Holding Corp.  Mr. Maselli received an MBA with distinction from The A.B. Freeman School at Tulane University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Colorado.

Andrea J. Kellett

Chief Financial Officer

Mrs. Kellett is the Chief Financial Officer of GX Acquisition Corp. and GX Acquisition Corp II. Mrs. Kellett is a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer of Trimaran.  Trimaran and affiliated entities have managed private equity funds, collateralized loan obligations, and hedge funds (in the case of hedge funds, as sub-advisor). Mrs. Kellett is responsible for accounting, management and financial reporting, human resources and administrative matters. Prior to joining Trimaran in 2006, Mrs. Kellett was an Executive Director in the Leveraged Finance Group of CIBC and was the Controller of Argosy, which she joined in 1990.  Prior to joining Argosy, Mrs. Kellett was a Vice President in the Real Estate Tax Shelter Department of Thomson McKinnon Securities, Inc.  Mrs. Kellett began her career as an auditor for Arthur Young & Co. Mrs. Kellett received her B.S. from the School of Business at the State University of New York at Albany.

Arthur D. Baer

Vice President

Mr. Baer is a Vice President of GX Acquisition Corp. II. Mr. Baer is a consultant to GX Acquisition Corp. and has held that role since its IPO.  Previously, Mr. Baer was Chief Investment Officer of Cavendish Fund Management LLC from 2015 to 2018, which was an equity hedge fund that he founded. Prior to Cavendish, Mr. Baer was Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman of Brite Media Group LLC from 2005 to 2014.  Brite Media Group was a media and consumer marketing company that was majority owned by Trimaran Capital Partners.  At Brite Media Group, Mr. Baer’s responsibilities included acquisitions, operations and business planning, and overall financial management including capital allocation and accounting. He evaluated hundreds of acquisition opportunities for Brite Media which resulted in closing numerous add on acquisitions. Mr. Baer also managed the divestiture process, successfully selling a key division to a competitor in 2012 and other divisions to a private equity group in 2014. Mr. Baer previously worked for Lehman Brothers from 2000 to 2003 as an Analyst in the investment banking division.  Mr. Baer graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in finance.

Jordan S. Bloom

Mr. Bloom is a Vice President of GX Acquisition Corp. II and a member of GX Acquisition Corp. Mr. Bloom is a Vice President at Trimaran Capital Partners.  Prior to joining Trimaran, Mr. Bloom was the Managing Partner of South Ave Capital, a specialty finance and asset-backed investment manager, that he founded in 2017 before joining Trimaran Capital in 2019. Prior to founding South Ave Capital, Mr. Bloom was an investment professional at Aristeia Capital, a multi-billion dollar, multi-strategy investment fund. While there, Mr. Bloom focused on distressed credit and special situation investments, between $10 and $200 million in size, across a wide range of industries. Mr. Bloom previously worked as a research analyst on the Special Situations Desk at the Royal Bank of Scotland. Additionally, Mr. Bloom sits on the Board of Advisors for Triphammer Ventures and Entrepreneurship at Cornell. Mr. Bloom graduated cum laude from Cornell University with a B.S. in Finance, and from Columbia Business School with an M.B.A.

James W. Harpel

Mr. Harpel is a director or of GX Acquisition Corp II. He is a Co-Founder of Two Roads Development, a real estate development company founded in September 2013, which is involved in the planning and development of largely residential restate in the State of Florida. Mr. Harpel is responsible for the general oversight of the firm and chairs the Investment Committee for the Company. In 1984 he co-founded and currently serves as a general partner of First Reserve Corporation, which has managed a series of private equity funds, in the energy, power and related infrastructure businesses. From 2003 until 2020, Mr. Harpel was a General Partner of Palm Beach Capital, which invests in and builds small and medium sized companies and makes direct real estate investments. Mr. Harpel is also an active entrepreneur and own interests and consults to a series of biotech, medically related and industrial companies. Mr. Harpel served on the Board of the Kennedy School at Harvard for over 40 years and is currently a member of the Board of Directors at the Belfer Center at the Kennedy School. He also served on the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Board. Mr. Harpel has an Endowed Chair at the Kennedy School. He is currently on the Executive Committee of the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, and is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In addition, Mr. Harpel is a recipient of the 2019 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. Mr. Harpel attended Harvard College (1959) and graduated from Harvard Business School in 1960 with high distinction. He is well qualified to serve on our Board due to his broad experience investing in publicly-held and private companies.

Mr. Mazur is a Director of GX Acquisition Corp and GX Acquisition Corp II. Mr. Mazur serves as an Industry Advisor for Brightwood Capital Advisors, LLC, a multi-fund manager with $3 billion under management.   Mr. Mazur serves as director, chairman of the audit committee and a member of the valuation committee of GSV Capital Corp. (NASDAQ:GSVC), a public BDC that invests in late-stage, venture-backed private companies and has current investments in among others Spotify, Palantir, Dropbox, Coursera,  and Lyft . He also serves as a director of Fibrocell Science, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSC), an autologous cell and gene therapy company.  Mr Mazur is a former CEO of Brevan Howard U.S. Asset Management and was an Executive at Goldman Sachs for more than a decade.   Mr. Mazur received his B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.  Mr. Mazur serves on the board of College Track, a Palo Alto-based not-for-profit that provides educational and mentoring support for low-income youth and The Jed Foundation, which works to prevent college suicides.

Hillel Weinberger

Mr. Weinberger is a Director of GX Acquisition Corp and GX Acquisition Corp II. Mr. Weinberger has since 2010 been a Principal of HLA, a privately-owned venture capital firm. From 2007 to the present, Mr. Weinberger has been a partner of Hillmark Capital Management, L.P., which he co-founded. Hillmark sponsors and manages funds focused on corporate credit, including performing and non-performing leveraged loans, high yield bonds, mezzanine debt and structured credit products. From 1988 to 2006, Mr. Weinberger was a Senior Vice-President of Loews/CNA Holdings, a property and casualty insurance company affiliated with the Tisch family. In that role, Mr. Weinberger was responsible for a wide variety of domestic and international investment activities ranging from special situations to performing and distressed fixed income to public and private equities and became recognized as a leader in many verticals within leveraged finance. Mr. Weinberger also led numerous creditor committees to successful reorganizations, dealing with C suite principals and entrepreneurs.  Prior thereto he was a Senior Vice-President of Presidential Life, from 1982 to 1988. Mr. Weinberger has served on the boards of Global Crossing Ltd. (telecommunications: NYSE: GX) from 1997 to 2000, where he chaired the Audit Committee, and News Communications, Inc. (newspaper and magazine publishing) from 1990 to1993. Mr. Weinberger attended Temple University and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

Vincent Puma

Vincent Puma

Co-founder & ceo, river capital group holdings.

A masterful venture capitalist and seasoned operator, Vince Puma has served as Co-Founder and CEO of River Capital Group Holdings and River Capital Group Ventures since their formation in 2012. Before founding RCG, Mr. Puma spent most of his career on Wall Street, working at firms like Gruntal & Co. and Josephthal & Co.

Before becoming a principal in his own firm, Mr. Puma then spent the next 12 years building several small firm sales and banking divisions in multiple roles, from Managing Director to CEO. Mr. Puma studied at Baruch College and New York University. He has also served on many boards, both private and philanthropically, including the Arc of Monmouth County and Hackensack Meridian Health.

Under his leadership, River Capital Group has made opportunistic industry-agnostic investments in growth companies ranging from five hundred thousand to $50 million. RCGH identifies forward-thinking companies for which its capital, financial expertise, and relationships would add both significant quantitative and qualitative value.

Mario Monello

As Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at River Capital Group Holdings and River Capital Group Ventures, Mario Monello has an extensive background leading high-growth companies and acting in an executive capacity across leading financial firms.

After serving as a partner at Lehman Brothers from 1979-1993, Mr. Monello went on to cofound Argosy Group, a firm specializing in bank/sales and trading/bankruptcy restructuring, working as Head of Leverage Finance. He went on to work with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, MaxCor Financial Group, and Guggenheim Partners before joining River Capital Group.

Mr. Monello studied Business Administration at Brooklyn College in New York and philanthropically has been engaged as an Advisory Board Member of the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation and as a Board Member of the Count Basie Center for the Arts.

Richard has led creative, UX and product teams for prominent global agencies and publishers, reimagining the digital essence of iconic brands like American Express, Coach/Tapestry, HP, Juilliard, Newsweek, Nickelodeon, SAP, and the United States Mint.

Having worked with companies of all sizes, ranging from early-stage startup to Fortune 500 companies, Richard brings an extensive track record of launching and building high-growth CX practices. Steve McCaffery

Steve McCaffrey serves as Managing Partner at Proviniti with 30+ years of experience in technology management. He has a proven track record of consistent success in various management roles, including web and mobile development, large multi-tiered systems development, payments, architecture, production support, and infrastructure. Steve managed teams globally, ranging from 20 to 1000 employees, with budgets ranging from $6 million to $100 million. He received the “Outstanding Performer” award for three years at Bank of America and was selected as one of the top 1% of executives to participate in the prestigious “Accelerated Development” program. Steve was also selected as a top executive in a similar development program at Lehman Brothers. His achievements include developing a global private banking system that ties together a unique web-based experience for high net-worth clients with a customer relationship management system, winning an Infoweek 500 Innovations award and a Nielsen award for Bank of America, and has achieved CMM Level 2 for a bank development group. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the New York Institute of Technology.

Before joining Flex Employee Services, Giovanni was Senior VP of Sales and Recruiting IT Consulting at Solomon Page Technology Partners for 18 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Fordham University in 1996.

Jordan Monello is a highly detailed analyst and strategist. He graduated from Marist College in 2019 with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Business Finance. Jordan’s current position is as an Analyst and Manager of Strategic Projects for River Capital Group (RCG). In this role, Jordan is responsible for analyzing potential acquisitions and investments, acting as a resource to portfolio companies, researching and developing new business lines and products, and conducting industry and competitive analyses. Jordan’s experience includes identifying synergies, cost-savings opportunities, and new business opportunities for portfolio companies, leading and implementing operational process improvements, and conducting market research.

Chris Crowley

Chris Crowley is an experienced recruiter with 28+ years of experience, 22 of which he spent at Pathways Personnel, specializing in legal staffing. Chris has had many roles throughout his career, including as a litigation paralegal at a San Francisco-based law firm and as a customer service representative at Chevron. In 2005, Chris became President and Owner of Pathways Personnel. In 2020, he founded a startup credential verification platform, leveraging decades of expertise in recruiting and staffing. Chris is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in political science and a Paralegal Certificate from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga.

Jordan Bloom is a Managing Director with an impressive track record in investment management. He joined Trimaran in 2019 and was appointed Vice President in 2021. Before his tenure at Trimaran, Jordan founded South Ave Capital, a specialty finance and asset-backed investment manager, in 2017. His career in finance also includes a role as an investment professional at Aristeia Capital, where he focused on distressed credit and special situation investments across various industries. Jordan started his career as a research analyst on the Special Situations Desk at the Royal Bank of Scotland. Jordan holds a B.S. in Finance from Cornell University, having graduated cum laude, and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He also sits on the Triphammer Ventures and Entrepreneurship Board of Advisors at Cornell.  

Joseph Giamanco

Joseph Giamanco Jr. is an experienced financial professional that has consistently broken barriers to entry over the last three decades. Joseph’s career began on Wall Street, where he quickly became the youngest member of the American Stock Exchange, beginning as an Equity Specialist for GHM Inc. In a very short time, he assimilated the ranks to Vice President of the Equity Division and oversaw the daily trading of over 150 publicly traded stocks. Joseph also was responsible for directly listing over 100 private/ public companies to the American Stock Exchange. As a highly accomplished financial professional and entrepreneur, Joseph has invested/ co-invested in over 1000 deals. He remains well-revered among his peers for his intrinsic financial knowledge and ability to add value to any situation. 

Currently, Joseph serves as the Managing Director for River Capital Group Holdings, LLC., where he is responsible for business strategy, deal sourcing, capital sourcing, and acquisitions. He also holds a residential real estate license in the state of New Jersey.

In addition to his professional accolades, Joseph remains extremely involved in fundraising for various charities, hospitals, and boards across the country. He is a connoisseur of cars and also enjoys golfing, bowling, and travelling in his spare time.

Joseph attended Florida Atlantic University and the New York Institute of Finance. He holds licenses and certifications in the following: Series 7 General Securities, Series 63, Series 25, and Residential Real Estate Sales. 

Dean Klein

Dean is a detail and results-driven Junior Controller with a strong background in finance and accounting. He started his career at KPMG as a Senior Associate, where he worked for 5 years and gained extensive experience in financial statement audits of financial services clients. During his tenure at KPMG, Dean obtained his license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and developed a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Dean holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from the University of Richmond’s E. Claiborne Robins School of Business. As a Junior Controller, Dean is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. He has a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement and implementing efficient financial systems and processes to streamline operations.  

Amy Mathis

Director of HR

Amy Mathis brings 20 years’ experience and a diverse background in human resources, sales, and business development to RCG Ventures. Having thrived at high-growth companies like Breakthrough Technology Group and NexusTek, Amy will work alongside RCG Ventures’ partner companies, establishing HR practices, leading recruitment, onboarding, and workforce development. In addition, Mathis will ensure that RCG Ventures partner companies adhere to OSHA and pandemic-specific mandates.

Mathis implements employee-centric policies that foster collaborative and inclusive corporate cultures. In a customer-centric world, understanding the connection between customer satisfaction and a brand’s success is essential. She brings a unique ability to help businesses adopt employee and customer-centric protocols, as well as flexible, equal-opportunity workplaces that fuel advancement and reject bias.

Mathis’ expertise onboarding and training protocols mitigates employee churn by equipping personnel with agile workflow strategies, technology, and training. In today’s world of hybrid work environments, ensuring unfettered engagement with employees is critical to maintaining exceptional customer experiences.

Susan Kennedy

Susan Kennedy is a seasoned, highly skilled government contracting professional with 28+ years of experience in the staffing industry. She currently serves as VP of Government and National Proposals for IOS Acquisition LLC and as Proposal Manager at Proviniti . Susan manages contracts from inception, develops proposals, and analyzes RFP requirements. She has a proven track record of capturing and securing government contracts, generating revenue in excess of $175M, and expanding companies into new regions. Susan’s expertise includes onboarding, employee agreements, expense reports, and practice management. About Jordan Bloom, MD, MPH

Jordan Bloom, MD, MPH is a cardiac surgeon who performs the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery including coronary bypass, valvular repair/replacements and aortic surgery. Dr. Bloom specializes in the care of adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD). His practice is broad and covers a variety of congenital disorders including connective tissue diseases and bicuspid aortic valve aortopathy. He has a strong clinical interest in the Ross procedure for patients with aortic stenosis or regurgitation and has done extensive multi-institutional training on this procedure.  

After completing his general and cardiothoracic surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Bloom traveled to the Royal Brompton Hospital in London where he completed a trust fellowship under the mentorship of Professor Darryl Shore. The Brompton is a hospital dedicated only to patients with heart and lung disease and has one of the largest divisions solely dedicated to the care of ACHD patients.  

During his surgical training, Dr. Bloom earned a master’s degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and devotes his academic time to research in quality improvement, education, and outcomes in cardiac surgery.

The Amazon founder has hosted fellow billionaires , reality TV stars, and Academy-award winners on his 417-foot vessel.

Here are some of the big names who have enjoyed Koru alongside Bezos.

Bezos did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Hollywood hotshot Leonardo DiCaprio is a repeat sailor on Koru.

Bezos hosted an August 2023 party aboard the yacht to celebrate his engagement to Lauren Sánchez, and DiCaprio was in attendance, Page Six reported at the time.

DiCaprio was back on the big boat earlier this month, but this time, he was joined by his 26-year-old girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, according to the tabloid .

Representatives for DiCaprio did not respond to BI's request for comment.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom enjoyed an Italian summer while sailing on Koru earlier this month.

The singer-actor couple were both in attendance at Sánchez's 50th birthday party in 2019, according to Page Six.

Perry and Bloom also joined Bezos and Sánchez in Croatia last year , as did Usher.

The "Woman's World" singer and her "The Lord of the Rings" partner were back on Koru with Bezos, Sánchez, DiCaprio, and Ceretti this month, Page Six reported.

Representatives for Perry and Bloom did not respond to BI's request for comment.

Microsoft founder and billionaire Bill Gates enjoyed Koru's amenities when he attended Bezos and Sánchez's August 2023 engagement party.

Gates was accompanied by his girlfriend, Paula Hurd. The couple was spotted in paparazzi photos lounging on the yacht's deck.

Representatives for Gates did not respond to BI's request for comment.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner

Multiple members of the famous reality TV family have hitched a ride aboard Koru.

Kim Kardashian spent time on the megayacht with Bezos and Sánchez earlier this summer as Koru traversed the Aegean Sea near Greece, People reported.

The SKIMS founder's mother, Kris Jenner, and her boyfriend, Cory Gamble, were also on board earlier this month, according to the outlet.

Jenner also attended Bezos and Sánchez's August 2023 engagement party on Koru. The Kardashian matriarch posted a photo of herself sitting next to Sánchez celebrating the engagement.

Representatives for Kardashian and Jenner did not respond to a request for comment from BI.

Wendi Murdoch

Entrepreneur and investor Wendi Murdoch snagged an invite to Bezos and Sánchez's 2023 engagement party aboard Koru, Page Six reported at the time.

Rupert Murdoch's ex-wife was photographed on the yacht in conversation with Gates.

BI reached out to Murdoch for comment.

Whitney Wolfe Herd

Bumble co-founder and billionaire Whitney Wolfe Herd was among Sánchez's female friends who helped celebrate her engagement on Koru last year, BI previously reported.

Herd appeared in photos on Sánchez's Instagram from August 2023.

BI reached out to Herd on Instagram for comment.

Ari Emanuel and Sarah Staudinger

Fashion designer Sarah Staudinger and her husband, Ari Emanuel , CEO of entertainment agency Endeavor, also attended the star-studded engagement party last year.

Staudinger appeared in photos on Sánchez's Instagram presumably taken on Koru from around that time.

Emanuel did not immediately respond to a request for comment. BI was unable to reach Staudinger for comment.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield

The two Spiderman actors reportedly attended Bezos and Sánchez's engagement party on Koru last August, Page Six reported at the time.

Representatives for Maguire and Garfield did not respond to BI's request for comment.
