Rapper Lil Yachty brings feel-good positivity, druggy weirdness, and wild ATLian flair to a style he self-designated "bubblegum trap" in his early days, while becoming a figurehead of the movement sometimes known as "mumble rap." Within two years of scoring his first platinum single in 2016, he had a pair of Top Ten albums with 2017's Teenage Emotions and 2018's Lil Boat 2, and a Grammy nomination for DRAM's "Broccoli," on which he was featured. Between the release dates of those proper albums for the Quality Control label, Yachty's approach shifted from a reliance upon willfully off-key singing and lackadaisical rhyming to that of a comparatively traditional MC, albeit with his irreverent sense of humor still gamely displayed. His style continued to evolve with his successive recordings, including 2020's Lil Boat 3 and the psychedelic rock of 2023's Let's Start Here. He launched his group Concrete Boys with 2024's It's Us, Vol. 1 and teamed with electronic producer/songwriter James Blake the same year for the subdued and textural album Bad Cameo.

Born Miles McCollum in the metropolitan Atlanta city of Mableton, Yachty began to break in 2015, when Drake's OVO Sound Radio aired his bizarre and singsongy "Minnesota." He truly crossed over in 2016. During the year, he released Lil Boat and Summer Songs 2, his first two commercial mixtapes for the emergent Quality Control Music. The former featured "Minnesota" along with "One Night," a woozy party cut that reached number 30 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, cracked the Hot 100, and went platinum. Also during the year, he was featured on DRAM's "Broccoli" and Kyle's "iSpy," both of which went Top Ten pop, and was part of Chance the Rapper's Top Ten release Coloring Book. "Broccoli" was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Coloring Book took the award for Best Rap Album.

Yachty continually added to his secondary discography as a collaborator, most visibly beside Carly Rae Jepsen on a remake of Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock's "It Takes Two," but during 2017 and 2018, he directed most of his energy toward his first two proper albums. Teenage Emotions, issued in May 2017, peaked in the Top Ten of the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, highlighted with the charting single "Peek a Boo," featuring Migos. Yachty returned the following March with Lil Boat 2, on which he sounded more like a traditional rapper with greater emphasis on enunciated verses and a reduction in off-key vocalizations. With tracks featuring PnB Rock, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Trippie Redd among its highlights, the album went Top Ten on multiple Billboard charts. That year, Yachty also released Nuthin' 2 Prove, which included "Who Want the Smoke?" with Cardi B and Offset. The set peaked just outside the Top Ten of the Billboard 200 and reached number nine on the R&B/hip-hop chart.

Lil Yachty issued a handful of stray tracks in 2019. Early the next year, he teamed up with Lil Keed and Zaytoven for the A-Team mixtape, and soon hit the Hot 100 as a lead artist for the third time with "Oprah's Bank Account," featuring Drake and DaBaby. That May, following the release of "Split/Whole Time," Yachty issued Lil Boat 3, which contained the two preceding singles and entered the Billboard 200 at number 14. A deluxe version of the LP, Lil Boat 3.5, appeared later that November. Extending his prolific run, he issued his third mixtape in May 2021. Inspired by the Michigan underground, Yachty recruited a team of Detroit and Flint rappers for Michigan Boy Boat, a U.S. Top 40 hit. Following 2022's "Humble," a collaboration with Diplo, he scored a minor hit with the solo track "Poland." His fifth studio LP, Let's Start Here, arrived in January 2023. In interviews preceding the release of the album, Yachty stated it would be more of a psychedelic record with live instrumentation than a traditional rap album. In keeping with the rock vibe, the album reached number one on Billboard's Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums and number nine on the Billboard 200.

Yachty quickly returned to creating experimental trap songs, issuing non-album singles like "TESLA" and the J. Cole collaboration "The Secret Recipe" (from the EP of the same name) before 2023 was over. He ventured into dance music with the 2024 single "stayinit," a collaboration with Fred again.. and Overmono. He then debuted Concrete Boys, a group that included Camo!, Karrahbooo, Dc2trill, and Draft Day. Their album It's Us, Vol. 1 landed in the top half of the Billboard 200. Also in 2024, Yachty released Bad Cameo, a collaborative album with James Blake. The songs took a decidedly more gentle approach, leaning into Blake's ambient textures and Yachty's more melodic sing-rapping style. ~ Andy Kellman & David Jeffries

Karrahbooo Claps Back at Lil Yachty After He Claims That She Doesn’t Write Her Own Rhymes

Karrahbooo has clapped back at Lil Yachty following his angry video where he claimed that she doesn’t write her own rhymes.

Karrahbooo Responds to Yachty’s Claims of Her Not Writing Her Own Rhymes

On Friday (Aug. 23), Karrahbooo jumped on her Instagram Story to address Lil Yachty’s accusations that she doesn’t write her own rhymes. In the image below, the 27-year-old rapper, who was dropped from Lil Boat’s Concrete Boys imprint , shares three songs she claimed that she penned and highlighted their streaming counts.

“Running Late,” boasted over seven million streams, “Where Yo Daddy,” garnered three million streams and the On the Radar Concrete Cypher freestyle hit nearly three million streams.

Karrahbooo captioned the image, “put it on yo kid i ain’t these songs [M]iles[.] Stop da cap and leave me out ur internet shenanigans [tears of joy emoji].”

She also added: “Stop bullying me big dawg [tears of joy emoji] i never said nothing u letting random fans get in yo head man up.”

Lil yachty goes in on karrahbooo.

Karrahbooo’s response comes after Lil Yachty went on Instagram Live and blasted his former artist of disrespecting him and others on his Concrete Boys imprint.

On Thursday night (Aug. 22), Yachty addressed Karrahbooo’s reported claims of being bullied during her time on Boat’s label, which he denied. According to Yachty, it was Karrahbooo who was doing the bullying.

“Tell people how you talk to people,” Yachty said in his fiery video below. “How you tell my security guard, ‘Oh, you homeless. You work for me. You’re poor. We above you.’ You talk to people like they nothing…Tell people how you verbally abuse people. How you said you gon’ spit on me when you see me.”

“I been letting you do this whole thing where you act like you a princess and you sweet,” he continued. “Stop the front, bro. We have withheld your actions since the beginning of me giving you this career. What the f**k are we talking about, bro. You don’t even do nothing. It’s so crazy to me, bro. ’Cause I’ve given you a career and time to time you just disrespect me.”

Yachty went on to claim Karrahbooo is in $900,000 debt to his label as a result of not recouping with her music. The Atlanta rhymer also claimed that he wrote all of her rhymes as well.

Karrahbooo Hits Back At Lil Yachty's Ghostwriting Claim: 'Stop Bullying Me'

  • Karrahbooo Hits Back At Lil Yachty's Ghostwriting Claim: 'Stop Bullying Me'

Karrahbooo has responded to Lil Yachty ‘s fiery rant in which he claimed that he wrote all of her raps.

The Atlanta rapper, who recently departed Yachty’s Concrete Boys collective, took to her Instagram Stories early on Saturday (August 24) to address Lil Boat’s accusation.

“[P]ut it on yo kid i ain’t write these songs miles,” she wrote, addressing Yachty by his government name while referencing the child he welcomed in 2021 . “[S]top da cap and leave me out ur internet shenanigans [crying face emoji].”

She added: “[S]top bullying me big dawg [crying face emoji] i never said nothing u letting random fans get in yo head man up.”

Karrahbooo also posted a screenshot of her most popular songs on Apple Music and their respective streams, showing her solo track “Running Late” outperforming her contributions to Concrete Boys’ recently released compilation It’s Us Vol. 1 .

Earlier this week, Lil Yachty unloaded on Karrahbooo on Instagram Live  after she allegedly claimed that she was “bullied” by Concrete Boys and ultimately kicked out out of the group.

He made a number of accusations about his former assistant turned artist, including that she was “verbally abusive” towards his bodyguard and that he wrote all of her raps, including her  viral  On the Radar  freestyle .

“I’m so sick and tired of helping people,” he said. “Gon’ ‘head and tell people how you verbally abuse people. How you told my security guard, ‘Oh, you work for me. You’re poor and we above you.’ You talk to people like you nothing! [Tell people] how you told me you gonna spin on me when you see me. Your brain is clinically imbalanced.”

Yachty also denied mistreating the 27-year-old rapper: “Karrah, I have never bullied you. I let you live at my house for free! I ain’t never done nothing but be nice, love you, brought you around every rapper. I brought you around everybody from [Lil] Baby to Drake.”

He added: “You don’t even do nothing! I wrote every fucking verse you’ve done. I dressed you. I gave you that chrome Rolex. You were waiting tables! I changed your muthafucking life! And you on here lying talking about some ‘we bully you’? That shit got me fucked up, bruh!

“I wrote that fucking verse when we went on  On the Radar . I put you last on purpose so everyone would say, ‘Who the fuck is that girl?’ … I got the fucking reference.”

Backing up his claim, Yachty shared an iPhone voice note of his reference for Karrahbooo’s show-stealing verse in the Concrete Boys cypher.

Lil Yachty also denied stealing money from Karrahbooo and in turn accused her of owing almost $1 million to his label, which is apparently how much has been invested into her career.

“You talked to my fucking label crazy. You claim I was stealing money from you. Stealing money from you how, n-gga? You ain’t made no money!” he said.

“You $900,000 in the whole and I got every fucking receipt, n-gga. And I’ma post it. I dare you [to] try me. And I’ll post how much money your fucking streams have made.”

He added: “Don’t go on the internet and act like I’m bullying you, bro. I’ve been nothing but loving and caring and paid your bills and gave you money and took you around the world. Nobody would even know who the fuck Karrahbooo was if it wasn’t for me.”

Yachty’s outburst was seemingly sparked by a social media post claiming that Karrahbooo had been bullied out of the Concrete Boys.

A restaurant employee claimed on X (formerly Twitter) to have been told by Karrah herself that she had been “kicked out” of the collective and that the group members were “bullying her a lot.”

Karrahbooo later made a vague reference to the drama on her own X account, quote tweeting her own post which said: “ion say too much cuz I know shit gone unfold on its own,” with the comment: “this aged well.”

Lil Yachty Blasts Karrahbooo and Mitch in Explosive Rant: ‘I've Given You a Career and… You Just Disrespect Me’

The explosive IG Live comes after Karrahboo left Concrete Boys.

An explosive impromptu Instagram Live from Lil Yachty saw the Atlanta artist slam his A Safe Place podcast cohost Mitch and former Concrete Boys signee Karrahboo.

Yachty began by addressing Karrahboo and all of the rumors swirling after it was revealed that she's no longer part of Concrete Boys.

Yachty claimed Karrah “verbally abused” people:

“Don’t get on here and make a scene ‘bout n****s kicked you out,” he said, referring to her sudden (at least to fans) departure from his rap collective Concrete Boys.

Yachty further claimed he wrote all of her lyrics (including her breakout Rap Radar appearance, of which he leaked a supposed reference track for), gave her money, gifted her with jewelry, and styled her.

“I slowed the beat down, I put 808s specifically on your verse so when it got to your part and the beat dropped, everyone would be like, ‘this girl is the craziest one,’” he said in reference to their Rap Radar performance.

"I wrote every fucking verse you've done," Boat also claimed. "I dressed you. I dressed all five of y'all n***as bro. I dressed five n***as every time we stepped out the house. I put an outfit on everybody. I put eight carats of earrings on everybody ear. I put three chains on all y'all neck."

He continued, "We bought a Cartier watch. I gave you that chrome Rolex, bro. You was waiting tables... What are we talking about n***a? I changed your mother fucking life and you are here lying, talking about some: 'We bully you'... That shit got me fucked up, bro. You got me fucked up, bro. You disrespectful, bro. You talk to people crazy. You tell people that they are nothing. You tell people you're going to spit on them. You tell people they poor and you talk to my fucking label crazy. You claim I was stealing money..."

Yachty also claimed he is owed $900,000. “I got every receipt," he said. "$900,000 Concrete in the hole.”

Boat then addressed Mitch, claiming he only started their successful A Safe Plac e podcast at Mitch’s insistence.

Yachty's IG Live appeared after viral after clips of their podcast episode with Key Glock made the rounds. An unamused Glock can be seen looking on while Yachty admonished Mitch for not having a purpose in the past.

”Even if I was doing shit back then, I’m older now,” Mitch said when Yachty shared an alleged anecdote about Mitch wanting to get an expensive watch by brandishing a gun.

”[If] I was never in your life, what would you have been doing?” Yachty asked.

Mitch disagreed and said you can give them different advice.” However, Yachty then replied, “Like what? You ain’t never had a job. What you gonna tell a n—a to get a job?” The Atlanta rapper then brought up what Mitch would be doing with his life if Yachty wasn’t around and all Key Glock could do was sit there in silence.

Naturally, Rap Twitter had a field day with said clip and criticized Yachty for being a bad friend. Boat addressed the viral clip during his IG Live session and stated he started the podcast to help his friend and said he was going to end it because Mitch wouldn’t defend him on social media. “I aint want to do no motherf—king podcast, n—a, I’m a f—king rapper.”

Lil Yachty goes off on his bestfriend and producer Mitch and cancels their podcast together 'A Safe Place' on IG live, for not clearing up a viral clip "I aint want to do no motherf*cking podcast n*gga, Im a f*cking rapper… I put $400,000 in Mitch pocket…" pic.twitter.com/OX9TloJQ58 — SOUND (@itsavibe) August 23, 2024

Mitch then took to X to clear the air, suggesting him and Yachty joke around and are often brutally honest with each other.

As for Karrahbooo, a waitress at Red Lobster set fire to this whole night. X user @C_Staxxz claimed the former Concrete Boy member walked into the restaurant chain to buy some Cheddar Bay Biscuits said she was kicked out of the group after being asked why she left. The user also claimed Karrahbooo told her that “they were really mean to her and bullying her a lot.”

He then claimed that he wrote all of her verses and styled her and the other members of the Concrete Boys. “I wrote every f—king verse you’ve done,” he said. “I dressed you. I dressed all five of y’all n—as, bro. I dressed five n—as every time we stepped out the house. I put an outfit on everybody. I put eight carat earrings in everybody ear. You claim I was stealing money from you. Stealing money from you how? You ain’t made no money.”

He continued, “This the problem with you new artists. Y’all get poppin’ online and then you become more popular than your actual music. You $900,000 in the whole and I got every f—king receipt.” Boat then brought up her viral On the Radar freestyle and said he was trying to make her pop off and it worked. “I slowed the beat down, I put 808s specifically on your verse so when it got to your part and the beat dropped, everyone would be like, ‘This girl is the craziest one.’”

Karrahbooo has yet to respond.

Karrahbooo Claps Back At Lil Yachty Following His Viral Tirade

2024 Gazebo Festival

The relationship between Lil Yachty and Karrahbooo is over, after the former went absolutely nuclear on Instagram Live. Lil Boat usually doesn't get too explosive on social media often. However, the Karrahbooo fan who disclosed that she was bullied out of the group obviously had him feeling some type of way. So, he promptly took to social media to leave Karrahbooo's entrails all over the internet . Yachty called out her character and even went as far as to claim that he "dressed" her, writing almost all of her songs/verses.

""Bro, go ahead [and tell] people how you talk to people... You talk to people like they were nothing. Like they're small, like they're beneath you". He took it even further, giving allegedly real interactions. "How you told me you 'gon spit on me when you see me. Your brain is clinically imbalanced". Then, a little later, he went for the killshot. "I've given you a career and time and time you just disrespect me. "I wrote every f***ing verse you've done, I dressed you... I been letting you do this whole thing where you act like you a princess". Yachty then concluded with, "Ichanged your motherf***ing life. You out here lying".

Fans Feel That Karrahbooo Proved Lil Yachty's Point

Now, about a day or so later, Karrahbooo is standing up for herself. She issued her response on an IG Story in attempt to disprove Yachty's bold songwriting assertion. "Put it on yo kid I ain't write these songs Miles (Lil Yachty's government first name) - __ - stop da cap and leave me out ur internet shenanigans 😂". She then showed two songs that she claims to have penned on her own, "Running Late" and "WHERE YO DADDY?". She then finished off the post with, "Stop bullying me big dawg 😂 I never said nothing u letting random fans get in yo head man up". She might be feeling she did something, but all fans can do is laugh at what they see as a feeble clap back.

"So her response is... "HA, I wrote 2 songs!" 😂", one user replies. "Bruuuuuh she steadying saying this man bullying her by calling out facts. Yall don’t see she clearly the problem?", another adds. Regardless of where you stand, the ball is now in Yachty's court. What are your thoughts on Karrahbooo's response to Lil Yachty's recent claims on Instagram Live? Do you think she did enough to disprove her former label head's statements, why or why not? Do you foresee Lil Boat issuing a response? What do you think led him to lash out against her and Mitch? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with  HNHH  for all of the latest news surrounding Karrahbooo and Lil Yachty. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
