The first yacht to feature fuel cell technology onboard, the 114m (374ft) superyacht Project Cosmos, previously known as Project 13759, has been technically launched from Lürssen's facility in Rendsburg, Germany. Lürssen's and Freudenberg's concept is a fuel cell driven by hydrogen which is continuously reformed from methanol.

The venture, named Zero-Emission Adriatic Ship (ZEAS), is estimated to cost approximately €18.9 million to complete, with the EU contributing €13.5 million from its Horizon Europe programme for research and innovation. Lürssen Design Center leads the project, aiming to develop a sustainable, climate-neutral fuel system.
