Dubai International Boat Show 2023: Everything to Expect

By Heather Collier

From the 1st to the 5th of March 2023, Dubai International Boat Show, the largest and most exciting marine and lifestyle show in the Middle East and North Africa region, will return to the glamorous brand-new Dubai Harbour.

Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) is the largest and most established boat show in the UAE, GCC and Middle East. Whether you want to buy a boat, discover luxury yachts and superyachts, explore the latest diving and aquatic innovations or ride the sparkling waves, it’s the perfect event to live a little more.

Making a return in 2023, the DIBS is once again set to be an unmissable marine and luxury lifestyle event. Showcasing the finest in luxury superyachts and leisure craft from around the globe, this truly world-class event brings together boat buyers, sellers and enthusiasts.

Relocating to the glamourous location of Dubai Harbour in March 2022, the DIBS is situated in a world-class maritime neighbourhood like no other. With its cosmopolitan lifestyle, unprecedented marina berth mix, the region's most advanced cruise terminals and extraordinary location, Dubai Harbour is the ideal home of the world-renowned boat show.

Some of the largest and most exciting yachts in attendance this year include:

Ocean Independence  will be exhibiting at the Dubai International Boat Show for the first time, with the stunning 68-metre Soaring  on display. Her exterior design and interior design is by Focus Yacht Design, with naval architecture penned by Abeking & Rasmussen .

Soaring  is a bespoke superyacht built for an experienced owner with a demanding brief. Some of the requests of the owner included a private owner’s deck with an aft looking grand master suite, the biggest possible tender and a gym complete with a wellness centre with direct access to the water.

" We are happy to be able to offer a new and premium-quality vessel with Soaring. The design, the layout and, of course, the quality of this 68-metre yacht engineered by one of the most prestigious yards worldwide into a very attractive offer in this very popular size ," commented Peter Hürzeler, Managing Partner of Ocean Independence .

In terms of performance, Soaring has a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots, a fuel capacity of 180 litres, and a water capacity of 39 litres. She also has a range of 4,500 nautical miles.

Represented by Sanlorenzo's Middle East dealer, the shipyard will display one of its most acclaimed models, the SX88 crossover, which prides itself on introducing a new type of yacht to the market. SX88, a synthesis between the classic motor yacht with flying bridge and the explorer typology, is designed for true sea-going enthusiasts, experienced and demanding owners, who choose to experience their craft in a new and dynamic way, in constant connection with the external environment.

The most valued feature of this 27-metre yacht is the opportunity to completely open the space from stern to bow, thus creating a truly open loft.

77m+ 'BEACH' Line Trio

Dutch design studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design has announced the launch of a new line of superyachts. Named ‘BEACH’, the new series features three distinctive designs in three impressive lengths: 77m, 88m, and 99m.

The BEACH series' interior style is relaxed and informal, whilst remaining open to individual accents in art, furniture, and colour to accommodate an owner's personal taste and style. Each yacht length boasts full-height glass façades at the higher deck cabins and lounges, to offer bounds of natural light and create a feeling of limitless space between the indoors and outdoors.

Sustainability

This year's show also features a programme of initiatives to promote sustainability, combining community, creativity, and a love for our oceans.

Dubai Can is a sustainability initiative by the Crown Prince of Dubai that aims to protect the environment by reducing single-use plastic water bottles across the city. There has since been a saving of more than 5 million 500ml single-use plastic water bottles at the public fountains across the city.

Trust Your Water is a water solution company with expert personnel who have a thorough knowledge of water purification and sanitation. TYW have partnered with DIBS to provide filtered water throughout the show at water stations for every visitor to use and refill their bottles.

SunKiss is created with Sustainability and CSR in mind: reef friendly formulations, employee wellness programme, proudly made in the UAE minimising the carbon footprint, and presented in aluminium - refillable, reusable and recyclable bottles.

Ethical Yacht Wear was founded to fill a gap in the crew uniform market by supplying 100% ethical, sustainable material, 100% fair trade crew uniform, having prevented over half a million plastic bottles from entering the world’s oceans through sustainable uniform.

Additonally, over 40 UAE schools in the GEMS Education network will take part in a DIBS-led art competition to celebrate World Whale Day.

Since its inception in 2004, the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project has rehabilitated an incredible 1,600 turtles, releasing them back into their natural habitat.

In January 2023, Atlantic Ocean Row completed 5,252 un-aided row across the Atlantic. In partnership with unep clean seas initiative, come to hear about their journey and sustainability efforts.

The show remains an opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to come together in an incredible setting, surrounded by the latest in yacht technology and design. With plenty of opportunities, this event is a must for your 2023 yachting calendar.

"We are happy to be able to offer a new and premium-quality vessel with Soaring. Dubai International Boat Show 2023 previews the future of marina living

next

The show will open doors to residents and international visitors on March 1

Gulf Business

As Dubai continues to strengthen its position as one of the nautical capitals of the world, various marina and waterfront developments are helping to further enhance the destination’s vision for a maritime lifestyle.

As a city that has steadily grown to secure its position as one of the most popular tourism destinations in the world, Dubai has a lot to offer every traveller – from shopping malls and hotels to desert adventures, theme parks, and dining experiences.

However, recent years have seen residents increasingly turn their interest to waterfront developments that are redefining what it means to enjoy a lifestyle split between the land and sea. Seafaring activities such as sailing and fishing, as well as water adventures like parasailing, jet skiing, and diving are proving to be increasingly popular with residents, and Dubai has witnessed a steady increase in the number of marina and waterfront developments as a result. The number of boat owners across the UAE has also seen a steady increase and are projected to hit 20,000 by 2025.

Dubai has a centuries-old maritime history and is celebrated today for its stunning beachfront destinations such as The Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands, Bluewaters Island, Dubai Creek, Al Seef, Mina Rashid, Daria Island, Dubai Marina, and Marasi Business Bay.

The emirate is also home to 15 vibrant marinas with more than 3,000 docking spots, many of which can comfortably accommodate superyachts and mega yachts. Such developments have attracted the attention of an increasing number of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWIs), who are flocking to the UAE to experience the best of marina lifestyle living. It is expected that the number of HNWIs in the UAE will rise to reach more than 228,000 by 2026.

Dubai Harbour, in particular, stands as a maritime facility featuring approximately 700 berths capable of accommodating yachts of lengths up to 160 metres. This makes it the perfect location for the upcoming 29th edition of the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS 2023), which will open to residents and international visitors on March 1, 2023.

“We are extremely excited to once again be returning to the stunning views of the Dubai Harbour for the 2023 edition of the Dubai International Boat Show,” said Riju George, group director – Exhibitions, DWTC.

“Over the years, the show has transformed into one of the most highly anticipated nautical exhibitions in the world, as well as the ultimate place to be for anyone that is interested in exploring the unforgettable marine lifestyle on offer in Dubai.”

Similarly, Abdulla Binhabtoor, chief portfolio management officer, Shamal Holding, the owner and curator of Dubai Harbour, said: “We are delighted to return for the second year as the permanent home of the Dubai International Boat Show 2023, which continues to play a major role in strengthening the position of Dubai as a global maritime hub.”

yacht show dubai 2023

He added: “As a manifestation of Dubai’s wider urban planning, coastline development and tourism strategies, Dubai Harbour is reimagining how the city engages with the sea, providing the region’s most vibrant and comprehensive maritime lifestyle offering. As an extraordinary seafront district, Dubai Harbour is delighted and honoured to not only be the venue of the Dubai International Boat Show, but also collaborate with DIBS, partners and wider stakeholders to further enhance Dubai’s standing as a world-class yachting destination, and a fully integrated maritime hub providing more options and easier ways for people to explore their own maritime journey.”

A nautical show The development of so many marina facilities in Dubai has coincided with an increase in the number of residents and visitors exploring a lifestyle on both land and the waves. These trends have translated into growing interest in everything that the Dubai International Boat Show has to offer. DIBS exhibitors have indicated that they see a link between these events and a surge in their sales across a range of vessel categories, including yachts, leisure-fishing boats and speedboats.

Abeer AlShaali, deputy managing director, Gulf Craft, said: “The UAE today is widely recognised as a major hub for international yacht tourism and is a thriving market offering marine enthusiasts from all over the globe an unparalleled lifestyle experience. Dubai, in particular, has positioned itself as one of the most sought-after yachting destinations with berthing options for boats and yachts of all sizes.”

DIBS 2023 is not just a show for boat owners or for those interested in purchasing a vessel of their own. The show is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors who will be exposed to over 1000 brands from around 55 countries, showcasing the latest in nautical innovation.

yacht show dubai 2023

The event will also be the stage for more than 40 regional and global yacht launches, further cementing Dubai’s position as one of the world capitals of maritime culture. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore more than 175 unique boats & watercraft at the event. The marina display area will host 50 of the world’s most beautiful boats from leading manufacturers such as Cranchi, Feadship, Gulf Craft, Princess, Ferretti, Azimut, and San Lorenzo.

Catering to the increasing demand for ‘Sea Ferraris’ Looking back at how the show has evolved over the years to be at the heart of the regional maritime industry, Riju George commented: “Marina developments have certainly played a role in the growing interest around boating and sailing among residents and visitors in Dubai. Not only do such facilities provide people with the opportunity to participate in various recreational water activities with their families and friends, but they have also helped reinforce Dubai’s position as a leading global nautical destination.”

As the UAE’s maritime industry continues to grow and secure its position on the global nautical map, the Dubai International Boat Show has also evolved to be more than just a platform for manufacturers and exhibitors. Thousands of enthusiasts from all over the world passed through the port of Dubai, looking forward to enjoying the more than 200 boats on display and the show that saw as many as 44 launches of new proposals and the latest in design and technology. In addition to boats many other activities entertained visitors, including diving demonstrations, water sports shows, seminars and workshops, live music shows, fishing competitions and much more.

But The Dubai International Boat Show 2023 was, of course, first and foremost the perfect opportunity for the world’s leading yacht brands to showcase their most luxurious vessels at the Dubai harbor, as well as for the rest of the industry: here, in fact, more than 1,000 of the biggest names and brands in the marine industry showcased their latest innovations.

dubai

Amongst the incredible line-up, the largest in both length and price tag is the Independence’s 68m Soaring , valued at Dhs350 million. UAE yacht-maker Gulf Craft officially unveiled its highly-anticipated Majesty 111 and the surprise new addition, Nomad 101 . Abeer Al Shaali , Deputy Managing Director at Gulf Craft, said “ We saw a huge influx of crowds, which was really exciting. The two yachts we brought to the show have already been sold, and we have many serious leads looking at making purchases ”.

Silent Yachts, the world’s first ocean-going production yachts powered by solar energy, was also reported an impressive event. “ Everyone is wild about our product because it’s the first electric yacht in the world ,” Ahmed Almousawi , General Manager of Silent Yachts said. “ Many people do not know that such a thing already exists, yet we have 16 of them in the water worldwide and 26 currently in build. Many people are proud to bring this product to the region, and we have several interested clients that are planning to visit our headquarters in Mallorca to take things forward.”

DIBS 2023

“ The Dubai International Boat Show is an appointment we can’t miss. We have created an extremely robust and widespread network of professional and exceptionally high-level service points, ensuring we offer our yacht owners outstanding, dedicated service ,” Enrico Chiaussa , Azimut Head of Sales for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa said.

Another debut came via BehneMar Yachting , as the superyacht consultancy and official dealer for Cigarette boats in the Middle East introduced the region’s first Cigarette power performance boat, a move that Tim Trenker , Chief Executive Officer, BehneMar Yachting predicts will “ rock the market in the weeks, months and years to come.” He said: “We are very pleased with Dubai International Boat Show. I see a lot of further growth potential, and I forecast that we’ll soon be using both sides of the marina – one just for superyachts and one for yachts under 34 or 40 metres.”

The show’s new location was also welcomed by Bush & Noble , regional distributor for Sunseeker Gulf, which is exhibiting Sunseeker 74 and Sunseeker 65. Brett Noble, Co-Founder of Sunseeker Gulf, said: “ The event so far has been fantastic. As Bush & Noble, we’ve been attending the Dubai International Boat Show for 10 years and we’ve seen the evolution over that period – particularly since the show moved to Dubai Harbour. This year, we’re getting a lot more feedback and buyers than we have in the past. In fact, we’ve had at least half a dozen serious leads in 24 hours.”

Dubai international boat show 2023 edition

In addition, Sanlorenzo Yachts premiered the 110 as well as the SL86 , and Sunreef Yachts revealed its 60 Power Eco and its Eco 80.

In short, an event that everyone really enjoyed: the producers who saw their work fully valued, as well as the industry insiders who were able to enjoy the event for five totally immersive days. And of course the thousands of people who passed through the booths, experienced the adrenaline-pumping offerings of the event and all the spectacle associated with it.

An outstanding event that laid the foundation for doing even better at the next occasion, in 2024, where Dubai will surely delight us with many more surprises.

Dubai International Boat Show 2023 using matchmaking technology to boost valuable in-event networking

This year's Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) is in full swing and is the largest high-profile boat show in the region. With over 150 boats on display in Dubai Harbour – including the 68-metre Soaring and 60-metre Caipirinha – Dubai Harbour is the place to be for anyone looking to discover luxury yachts, test watertoys and see supercars.

The five-day event (1 - 5 March) will play host to exhibitors, trade buyers, and consumers hailing from all over the world. It is the ultimate forum for companies and suppliers to meet and mingle with the yachting world’s biggest players. And this year, to make networking easy, show organisers are using specialist technology to match companies with consumers during the event.

Try the B2B matchmaking technology

The specialist “matchmaking” technology takes each attendee’s interests and wants into consideration, and then suggests industry connections that would be most beneficial to each party.

By registering for a trade visitor badge , guests have access to the B2B matchmaking programme and can receive a concise and personalised selection of relevant services and brands at the event. Guests can even use the matchmaking programme to organise their schedules and arrange meetings both in person or virtually.

With over 800 companies exhibiting at the show, this programme is designed for visitors to optimise their valuable time and help navigate areas within the show such as Superyacht Avenue. Here, a lineup of over 50 superyachts from leading builders such as Feadship, Princess, Gulf Craft, Cranchi, Sanlorenzo and more are on display.

What not to miss

Plenty more boats and supercars are available to view on land, as will Dive MENA where the latest in diving equipment, watersports, technology, and electronics will be demonstrated in a real-life pool. The action-packed programme also includes the renowned fishing competition where everyone from amateurs to professionals are invited to try the latest in fly fishing technology.

To relax, the VIP Lounge and Nikki Beach will both be offering food, drink, DJs and entertainment throughout the show. If there wasn’t enough opportunity to network and learn during the show, the Middle East Yachting Conference and Experiental Yachting Forum are also coinciding with DIBS and have packed programmes of inspirational industry speakers.

With the who’s who of the world’s yachting industry descending on Dubai, why would you be networking anywhere else?

To find out more about how to get a ticket and what’s happening at the show, visit the Dubai International Boat Show website directly here.

The global boat-building market is expected to reach over $47 billion in 2027, at a CAGR of 7.5%, and the increasing demand for recreational boats in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is a significant factor driving growth. Brands in Dubai are responding with their latest designs and innovations, and local manufacturers and suppliers exhibited their latest innovations at the event.

Sustainable Solutions

Al Rubban Marine, IMG Boats, Invincible Boats, Ocean Boats, Gulf Craft and Victory Yachts are among the prominent exhibitors that showcased their latest creations at the five-day event, with a focus on incorporating sustainable solutions. As the global movement towards environmental sustainability continues to reshape the maritime sector and the future of yacht architecture, yacht owners and clients are increasingly interested in innovative technologies that can create a greener yacht. Manufacturers such as Gulf Craft are responding to this demand by integrating sustainable solutions into their builds. Abeer Al Shaali, Deputy Managing Director of Gulf Craft, said: “At Gulf Craft, we understand that clients prioritise sustainability and durability, and we are committed to supporting the path towards a sustainable future. We are committed to making our yachts more efficient, lightweight, and practical, always with the user’s perspective in mind. Our latest yacht, the Majesty 111, showcases the latest trends in boat building, bringing the outside inside and creating a natural flow from exterior to interior. We believe that by incorporating nature and light into our designs, we are creating a truly unique and luxurious experience for our clients.” With brands from 60 countries featured at the show, local manufacturers and distributors exhibiting reported increased business from a diverse range of international markets. Paurush Farouk.H, Sales Manager, IMG Boats commented that there is a strong market for Middle Eastern products outside the region: “In previous years, we primarily had interest from across the region, but this year we are receiving more serious leads from international markets, particularly Eastern Europe, and Australia,” he said.

Customisation is key

Brands also reported that customisation and personalisation are high on the list of customer demands this year, as buyers are keen to reflect their personality through their purchases. Shahid Ahmed Jiwrak, Sales Manager, Ocean Boats, said: “We observed that visitors were very impressed by the options for customisation that Ocean Boats offer. This is very important because customers today want highly personalised products. These can range from walk-around cabins, forward or backwards-facing seats, centre consoles, a roof on the top of the steering wheel, and even bathrooms on board the vessel. As designers, we listen to all these preferences and incorporate them in the final boat design in the most innovative way possible, so that the customer gets a boat that suits their specific needs.”

Proud legacy

Dubai International Boat Show brought together the latest innovations from a range of the industry’s verticals.

Historically playing a key role in the UAE’s maritime sector, the country’s Fish and Seafood Market has witnessed significant growth and development in recent years. Local fishing equipment companies brought the latest advancements in rods, lures, tackles and other fishing gear to the show, and Taha Darwish, Sales & Marketing Manager, Helal Trading, wholesale distributor of Okuma throughout the Middle East said that they observed a lot of interest from regional and international retailers for next-generation reels and drags that can handle larger fish. “New equipment is lighter than before, making it easier to catch big fish like tuna which can go up to 100kg. It was our first time exhibiting at the Dubai International Boat Show, and we had many requests for these and other equipment,” he said.

For local boat manufacturers and equipment suppliers that exhibited at Dubai International Boat Show 2023, the event played an essential role in providing a platform for the industry to present its excellence to the international market. Its almost 30-year legacy can be credited with attracting yacht companies to move their headquarters to the UAE or have permanent offices here, added Abdulaziz AlMeraikhi, Owner & Founder of Ultra Marine, a distributor of Invincible Boats.

As the Dubai International Boat Show annually continues to champion the UAE’s position as a top destination for marine enthusiasts and professionals, the show undoubtedly remains the premier venue for local players to display and celebrate their innovations and advancements.

The Dubai International Boat Show 2023 ran from 1 – 5 March.

Dubai Harbour

1 - 5 Mar 2023

By Steve Mandaluff

Following a successful return in 2022 after a two-year absence, the most prestigious yacht show in the UAE will be back in 2023 with another stunning array of yachts and luxury lifestyle products.

Spread across five days in March, the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) is now an established fixture on the yachting calendar bringing together a range of premium attractions, nautical based and otherwise, for the 25,000+ visitors who pass through the doors each year.

In 2022 the event was held for the first time in the newly redeveloped Dubai Harbour, with the remarkable venue with 1,100 berths and the ability to host superyachts up to 160m (525ft) in length, providing an apt location for such a star-studded show.

Stunning superyachts

DIBS attracts many of the world’s leading yacht builders, with the yachts on display covering all shapes, styles and genres, but undoubtedly the main attraction is the ‘Superyacht Avenue’. This exclusive area brings together the biggest yachts at the show and is always a hive of activity, and a great chance to see the latest developments in the superyacht world.

Water-based activities galore

The show really is a water lover's paradise. It hosts the Dive MENA Expo each year with a series of talks and demonstrations for scuba lovers, and the watersports arena is the perfect place to try out activities like kayaking and paddleboarding. Budding fishermen can even take part in the Dubai Fishing Championships at the event.

Everything else

DIBS is a byword for luxury, with everything from sea-inspired art to luxury watches being showcased by the numerous premium retail outlets. For anyone who loves cars as much as they love yachts, the show will have a prestige parade of beautiful supercars.

If you need to take a break from the excitement of the show, there are numerous social activities to enjoy, with DJ sets, cocktail soirees and relaxed pop-up events all on offer.

Dubai: The Ideal Winter Yachting Destination

Dubai Tourism

The emirate is fast becoming a popular sailing destination among those looking to soak up some winter sun.

Dubai has become a magnet for global yacht tourism, particularly during the winter season from October to April.

Winter is the best time to visit Dubai, when the weather’s just right for lazy days on the beach and outdoor fun. From October to April, the warm temperatures and calm waters in the region make yachting a breeze, promising a smooth and enjoyable journey. Dubai is rapidly emerging as a top winter yachting destination for enthusiasts who would typically favor the Caribbean or South America. They can now explore the Gulf region safely from one of the world’s most glamorous cities.

“Dubai’s strategic location, world-class infrastructure, advanced facilities, luxury marinas, award-winning tourism offerings, rich maritime history and picturesque coastline, combined with its popular winter-sun season, have positioned the city as an attractive destination for yacht owners,” says Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, part of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

Vibrant Events Calendar

Dubai’s jam-packed calendar of events is another major draw for visitors. The city hosts a wide range of business, leisure and MICE events all year round, but winter is when it truly comes alive with a multitude of action-packed activities, from golf and rugby tournaments to tennis championships and horse racing .

Dubai plays host to many international events, including the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix, part of the SailSP competition series.

The Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix , part of the SailGP competition series, will take place on November 23 and 24, showcasing a fleet of high-performance F50 foiling catamarans battling it out on the iconic Mina Rashid. Meanwhile, the annual Gulf Superyacht Summit , taking place this December, and the Dubai International Boat Show , scheduled for February 2025, both highlight Dubai’s burgeoning yachting industry. These events showcase the latest in yacht design and technology, attracting enthusiasts, manufacturers and experts from around the world.

Other significant events like the annual Dubai Watch Week , Dubai Fashion Week and Art Dubai have further elevated Dubai’s position as a global city with a vibrant creative and cultural spirit. Those looking to ring in the new year on a grand scale will not be disappointed. New Year’s celebrations in Dubai are truly epic. Party it up at the trendiest beach clubs, enjoy star-studded performances by international artists or catch the iconic fireworks at Burj Khalifa and various locations along the coast.

Dining And Wellness

Beyond offering state-of-the-art maintenance and repair facilities, Dubai’s luxury marinas boast stunning waterfront dining options and wellness amenities for the well-heeled crowd. These offerings complement Dubai’s multifaceted appeal among yachting enthusiasts seeking a holistic maritime experience.

Kazim says, “We see strong potential for the ‘cruise in, dock and dine’ concept, which allows yacht owners to dock their vessels and enjoy some of Dubai’s world-class waterfront dining options. Another emerging trend is the integration of luxury wellness amenities within Dubai’s marinas, with many featuring health and wellness centers, while owners are also taking advantage of the opportunity to experience world-class sporting, entertainment and business events in the city.”

There is a variety of dock and dine options dotted along Dubai’s dazzling coastline that yacht owners and their guests can choose from, including venues set against spectacular backdrops of the city skyline and the Arabian Gulf.

For instance, the Bulgari Marina at Bulgari Resort Dubai offers exclusive dock and dine services, including free berthing for four hours for guests. Pick from the one-Michelin-star omakase restaurant Hōseki or the two-Michelin-star Il Ristorante – Niko Romito for perfectly executed Italian cuisine.

At The Club , located at Palm West Beach, yachts can dock at the beach and visitors can directly disembark there to enjoy the waterfront dining experience at one of its signature restaurants and beach clubs.

Those looking for a relaxing time can unwind at the ultra-luxe Guerlain Spa, located within The One&Only The Palm , with its very own private marina for visitors. Indulge in a pampering massage or a traditional hammam ritual designed to restore, renew and revitalize.

Luxury Stays And Entertainment

Luxury hotels and resorts in Dubai offer yachting tourists top-tier accommodations. Strategically located near marinas, these properties offer breathtaking ocean views and convenient access to the waterfront. Many also feature specialized yacht concierge services, including help with bookings, provisioning, and arranging both sea and land activities to enhance guests’ extended itineraries.

Dubai boasts world-class attractions, such as the Museum of the Future, one of the city's most famous landmarks.

For some heritage and culture, visit the Al Shindagha Museum , located along Dubai Creek. Sign up for curated tours to gain an insight into Dubai’s past and traditions. The Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding gives visitors the opportunity to learn about the culture and customs of Dubai and the Emirati people while the Museum of the Future , one of the city’s most famous landmarks, explores next-generation science, technology and innovation.

Looking for sun-kissed days on the beach? Jumeirah 1 , a revitalized destination, features three beach clubs and 10 beachfront restaurants, making it the perfect all-day R&R spot. Alternatively, fit in the ultimate shopping experience at Dubai Mall, where the Elite Personal Shopping Suite opens a world of bespoke luxury tailored for the discerning clientele.

Seamless Entry And Connectivity

As a premier yachting destination, Dubai offers limitless opportunities for visitors looking to explore the U.A.E.’s stunning coastline and neighboring spots in the region. Visitors on foreign-flagged yachts can expect a seamless arrival experience, capitalizing on Dubai’s modern and advanced facilities. Foreign vessels are allowed to stay in Dubai waters for up to six months.

“Strong international air connectivity through both commercial and private aviation makes Dubai ideal for owners looking to arrive or depart separately to their yachts,” says Kazim. “Dubai’s reputation for safety further enhances its appeal to yacht owners and businesses, along with initiatives like the Golden Visa for investors, which align with the objective to make Dubai the best city to visit, live and work in.”

With plans underway to further expand its yachting infrastructure and offerings, Dubai is set to strengthen its position as the preferred winter yachting destination and gateway to the Gulf region.

Naomi Campbell sets up new business in Dubai with Pretty Little Thing founder

Naomi Campbell has teamed up with Umar Kamani, the CEO of Pretty Little Thing, to launch a talent and partnership agency that will open this month and will be based in Dubai

Naomi Campbell

  • 21:56, 17 Sep 2024

Model and actress Naomi Campbell has announced she is embarking on a new huge business venture in Dubai .

The 52-year-old has teamed up with Pretty Little Thing founder Umar Kamani to launch a talent and partnership agency. Called KC Global Partnerships, the agency will open this month at Dubai Hills Business Park in the United Arab Emirates.

It will focus on partnerships between talents, brands, celebrities, industry leaders and experts. As part of the announcement, Naomi and Umar announced two directors of the business venture - Amy Simon, who joins as director of PR, and Sufeena Hussain taking on the role of partnerships director.

Naomi said: "Dubai has become a global hub for talent, brands, and innovation. Throughout my career, I've experienced first hand the power of meaningful relationships in driving success and creating opportunities. It's not just about who you know; it's about bringing the right people together at the right time. That's what we're doing with KC Global Partnerships, but on a much larger scale."

And her business partner, the CEO of Pretty Little Thing, added: "In Dubai and across the region, we see immense potential to transform how talent and brands interact. Our vision goes beyond facilitating mere transactions. Our platform is designed to nurture authentic, long-term partnerships, creating real value for everyone involved. KC Global Partnerships isn't just about connecting people – it's about fostering a collaborative ecosystem that will spark innovation, fuel business expansion, and promote cross-cultural interchange throughout Dubai and beyond."

It comes just days after Kamani, who stepped down from Pretty Little Thing last April, announced his return to the fast fashion retailer, promising to make the brand special again. He described his return as "the beginning of a new chapter for the fashion giant" as he vowed to "put customers at the forefront" of every business decision.

The founder shared in an Instagram post: "Over the past few years, I’ve watched from the sidelines as the brand we built together has, at times, lost touch with what made it so special – you, our loyal customers. This has driven me to step back in and take on the responsibility of steering Pretty Little Thing forward, putting your needs and desires at the forefront of every decision we make.

"I sincerely apologise for any negative experiences you may have encountered during my absence. I take full responsibility from this moment on, and I am committed to making sure your experiences with us are nothing short of exceptional moving forward. Thank you for your continued support and for giving me the opportunity to guide PrettyLittleThing into its next exciting chapter. I won’t let you down. We’ve always been one big PLT family, and now we will be stronger than ever."
