History of Sanlorenzo

Sanlorenzo, an esteemed Italian yacht manufacturer, was founded in 1958 by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia in the Tuscan city of Viareggio. The company initially concentrated on constructing wooden boats, quickly gaining a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and bespoke designs. In 1972, Massimo Perotti joined the company, later becoming a pivotal figure in its development and international expansion.Over the years, Sanlorenzo has evolved its product range to include both motor yachts and superyachts, catering to the luxurious demands of a global clientele. Under Perotti's leadership, the brand has expanded its facilities and capabilities, enabling it to produce customised yachts that stand out for their elegance and innovative design. Key milestones in the company's history include the introduction of the SL fiberglass motor yacht line and the creation of the Alloy series, a range of aluminium superyachts.Today, Sanlorenzo operates primarily out of Ameglia, La Spezia, and Viareggio, where state-of-the-art shipyards allow for the production of highly tailored yachts.
