For Sale: Horizon Yachts FD80

One More Time , a 2020 Horizon Yachts FD80, is currently listed with Yatco with an asking price of $6.5 million. The 2020 Fast Displacement model is penned for long-range cruising comfort and has notable speed too.

For those who are seeking a motor yacht that can go long distances and have spirited performance as well, One More Time is powered by optional twin 1,200 hp MAN V-8 diesels, a setup Yachting originally reported provides a 20-knot top hop. The MAN diesels burn just 6.9 gallons per hour at 8.5 knots, giving the FD80 a range of 3,248 nautical miles. At 13 knots, fuel burn is 57 gallons per hour and provides a 630-nautical-mile range. It’s worth noting that One More Time ‘s engines were last serviced in December 2023.

“The FD in FD80 stands for fast-displacement hull, and the boat has Horizon’s high-performance piercing bow. The hull has a soft chine at amidships that Horizon says makes it slicker in the water and a hard chine forward that increases lift. The bow design is meant to cut cleanly through the water while stretching out the yacht’s underwater length.”

Near sole-to-ceiling windows run the length of this 80-footer’s salon, allowing for natural light and light, neutral tones to create a sense of warmth and volume. Two loose chairs, a coffee table and an L-shaped sofa provide seating for guests to port. A three-person bar to starboard converts to a more formal six-person dining table.

One More Time’ s galley is forward of the salon, separated by a three-person bar that doubles as an island for the galley. There is enough counter space for the chef and crew to prepare meals side-by-side. The galley can be completely closed off from the salon via a drop-down window at the countertop and then closing the galley’s doors. The galley is equipped with a Sub-Zero full-size refrigerator with freezer drawers, a pantry with Sub-Zero freezer drawers underneath, a Miele oven and cooktop, a Bosch microwave and range hood, a Miele dishwasher, a Blanco double sink with a garbage disposal and a KitchenAid trash compactor.

The full-beam, main-deck master stateroom is located forward of the galley. The master stateroom has a king berth, a sofa to port, a walk-in closet, an en suite head with a glass-enclosed shower and a 49-inch, flat-screen TV. Rectangular windows on either side pair with a skylight that runs nearly the full length of the stateroom for natural light.

The other sleeping accommodations reside belowdecks where guests will find three en suite staterooms. The forepeak VIP stateroom has a queen berth. The VIP stateroom to port also has a queen berth. The final guest stateroom is to starboard with twin berths that slide together to form a queen berth. All of the guest staterooms have 32-inch flat-screen TVs and stowage space for extended cruising.

Up top, the partially enclosed flybridge has an L-shaped sofa and fixed table to port, abaft the two-seat upper helm station. The aft area of the flybridge has a Whirlpool spa and enough room to add loose furniture to catch a sunset with friends, illustrating this area’s entertainment mission. Forward of the house is a bench seat and a two-person sun pad. Users can shade the area when it’s time to cool off, but too soon to go inside.

When it comes to the FD80’s other outside spaces, guests will enjoy the teak-clad cockpit with a bench seat and a fixed table, all protected under the flybridge overhang. Add five loose chairs and there’s alfresco dining for eight.

Stairs flanking the transom lead down to the hydraulic swim platform. Open the transom door for the full beach club experience.

Some other notable features on board this Horizon Yachts FD80 include two 28 kW Onan generators with sound shield, (Port: 413 / Stbd: 661 hours as of December 2023), Gamin electronics with four GPSMAP 8617 17-inch multifunction displays, 72-nm, six-foot open-array radar and Fantom 4 four-foot solid-state open-array radar, KVH TracVision HD7, a TracPhone V7-IP Empty Dome, a SAT phone pre-wire only, a cellular router system with wifi onboard, a Fusion Marine stereo system and a Maxwell VC3500 windlass.

“Confused 4-foot swells crisscrossed the ocean’s surface—a desirable field to see if the FD80 could play ball. It turns out, she can. At that 13-knot cruise speed, she ran quietly and her hull provided soft landings in even the deepest troughs. She was also nimble for a beamy boat that displaces 174,160 pounds. At her fast cruise speed, I turned her hard over to port and starboard in less than a single boat length. A teak-lined sun terrace to the rear of the bridge is big enough to host a set of sun-loungers, accommodate a jacuzzi hot-tub and, with a Steelhead ES davit, stow your jet-tender. There’s also room back here for a marble and steel-lined walk-in wet-bar with stools and a low-slung dining sofa with a bespoke high-gloss table. The front portion of the bridge, meanwhile, is covered by a floating hard-top and surrounded on three or four sides by expansive glazing for protection from the elements. In here you can expect an oak-lined pilothouse with twin Stidd helm chairs facing a modern dashboard with up to four Garmin touch-screens, power-assisted steering, Zipwake trim-tab switches, Sidepower stabilizer buttons, bow and stern thruster controls, C-Zone electrical systems, VHF radio, a high-speed compass and more.

A secluded foredeck benefits from a structural overhang for shade while seated at a U-shaped forward sofa with a pair of cocktail tables, though sun-worshippers will more likely be found at a wide sunpad with headrests that can accommodate up to four at one time. Head back to the aft-deck to encounter a vast socializing space with a transom sofa, chilled storage and a timber-topped dining table where you will enjoy memorable meals. Transom gates and side-steps lead down to a full-beam bathing platform with a segment that can be fully lowered into the water, as well as a vast transom garage that opens up to a plush beach-club lounge with gold-accented fixtures.

The breezy main-deck salon boasts widescreen glazing, floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors on three sides for an elemental approach to indoor relaxation. Bronze-effect touches, a selection of authentic hardwoods, modern furnishings in pale upholstery, hand-stitched Ottomans, mood lighting and the lavish use of gold, marble and stone in here sets a sophisticated and contemporary tone. There’s a large L-shaped sofa and cabinet space to aft, while further forward there’s room for a formal dining space. Further exploration on this level yields either an open or enclosed galley with live-aboard appeal, plenty of chilled storage and Miele appliances, while at the front of the main-deck there’s space for an owner’s stateroom. A true full-beam affair, this exquisite cabin features a king-sized bed, a side-sofa, a walk-in closet and a large bathroom lined in sheer stone with grey timber highlights, marbled surfaces, backlit mirrors, frosted glass panels and a wet-room shower.

There’s a trio of en-suite staterooms down on the lower deck split across two doubles and a twin, with cabins down here boasting plush carpeting, generous hull windows and masses of storage. A crew quarters for three sits alongside the stern-side beach-bar.

Two 1136HP Caterpillar C18 engines or a pair of 1200HP MAN V8 motors to deliver top speeds of around 20 knots, while at a consistent 13 knot cruising pace there’s an offshore range of approximately 630 nautical miles. Settle in to an economy cruise of 8.5 knots and this expands dramatically to a range of 3,248 nautical miles thanks to a 2,700 gallon fuel capacity.

A fusion of ocean inspiration and the pinnacle of design in a five-stateroom and tri-deck configuration.

The latest FD100 build, Hull 11, is an exquisite yacht that embodies the ocean, with inspiration drawn from rhythmic waves and sun-kissed shores. Crafted by Horizon, this vessel hones the design of Cor D. Rover with a range of amenities that elevate the FD Series’ hallmark features, offering an intimate experience with the ocean’s elements.

Through Ocean-Colored Lenses Stepping into the main salon, the soothing aesthetic is marked by warm American walnut with stone facades and a port-side L-shaped sofa underpinned by a colorful rug reminiscent of tidal flows. Stowaway ottomans fit seamlessly into the coffee table, utilizing the space. To enjoy the stunning seascape views from a different perspective, two swivel armchairs to starboard complete the formal lounge setup.

Inside the dining area, the ten-seat table’s hand-painted, turquoise-blue, glass tabletop takes prominence. This work of art provides guests with a sense of dining on the ocean’s surface. The table is infused with life by natural light as well as the Articolo Trilogy Horizontal Pendant overhead, creating an iridescent effect that is sure to be a topic of conversation around meals.

Forward of the dining space, the well-equipped galley with plentiful Cambria counter space, whose wavy patterns mirror a coastal landscape, beautifully incorporates the oceanic motif. Additionally, a separate door and Hi/Lo textured glass partition provide privacy, while a modified chef’s nook forward to port with pull-out chair provides added convenience.

Sea of Tranquility This FD100 offers a five-stateroom layout with exceptional comfort for owners and guests. A tranquil retreat is found in the appointed full-beam master stateroom with a large his-and-hers ensuite situated forward. The stateroom features a king-sized bed and has plenty of cabinets and dressers for stowage on extended cruises. Elegant Oracle LED wall sconces on a MML Stone-Breccia Melange headboard add a touch of elegance to the overall ambiance of the space.

From the starboard-side foyer of the main deck, the stairwell leads to the bridge deck above and to the guest staterooms on the lower deck. A leather-textured wall creates an almost art gallery-like feel when transitioning to the lower deck, where there are four deluxe ensuite staterooms comprising mirrored VIPs amidships, a convertible twin with a Pullman berth to port, and a third VIP in the bow. Throughout the staterooms, the TV panels are uniformly bordered by inVinci wallcovering with gradients and layered elements that enhance their visual appeal.

Aft of the engine room, which houses twin CAT C32A 1,900hp engines, crew quarters comprise a double Captain’s cabin, two sets of bunk cabins, crew mess, a freezer and laundry facilities. The beach club is a snug enclave, furnished with seating, a wet bar, and two barstools.

Sun, Sea, Serenity On the bridge deck, the enclosed skylounge design presents generous indoor space and doubles as a second salon complete with a wet bar, icemaker, and TV, as well as a day head to port. Moving aft, shaded by the hard top, is a ten-seat dining table with a marble-patterned top, a fold-down 43” LED TV, and a fully equipped BBQ station with a wet bar. Space to bask in the sunshine is found furthest aft, where sprawling U-shaped seating invites relaxation. For more sun-worshipping moments, head through the port side to the foredeck area and unwind on plush sun pads or enjoy alfresco dining in the U-shaped seating with dinettes.

One of the standout aspects of this FD100 is the Jacuzzi tub on the uppermost tri-deck. A truly welcoming area perfect for entertainment with a wet bar and plentiful sun pads, this space also houses a 55” Hi/Lo LED TV that rotates to suit viewers from multiple vantage points.
