Does Boatsetter screen renters?

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

It may be the cheapest - but for sure NOT THE BEST VALUE you deserve. It is like seeing Paris from the airport terminal during flight transfer :-)

While researching sailing operators - keep always in mind - that in order to make BEST decision - the price tag shall not be your main indicator - as the saying says -  “you get what you paid for” in the end . 

Make sure you are not fooled with PERFECT catalogue pictures and shiny marketing materials - as they may be further from reality than you could imagine.  Ask for real images ;-)

Don’t be fooled that advertising the NEWEST boat (was it the newest when the website was made, when ? ) is  therefore BEST - as the age of the sailing vessel and your charter  experience, has nothing to do with you final satisfaction. 

You can have the best time of your life on a classic boat from 1940s - as long as the vessel is taken care of and CLEAN - by devoted and passionate owner. 

Some classic yachts  are like WINE especially if cared by a devoted owner  - and offer luxury experience on a comfortable   ELEGANT classy  vessel. Quality of most stadarized new “modern” vessels is far below the vessels that were made before 90s (in most cases - excluding of course world famous million dollar + yachts e.g. Oester etc). Why ? Cost effectiveness ….to cater to  middle class. And most owners know it - therefore they keep good boats - see % of value depreciation of new “modern” vessels to well known classics from 90s :-) - there is a reason why they keep the value and don’t loose 50% in first 5 yrs :)

Before,  the yachts of 40 feet plus were built with quality for the people who could afford it - and expecting highest quality - without cutting corners. Today casual market tempts with lower prices - compromising quality tremendously.

However in any service, and especially charter  - the most important factor is a   HUMAN factor  - as in the end you will remember  WHO you sailed with  . 

Was the captain/crew professional? courteous? entertaining? or your skipper was a “ driver" that wanted to have it done asap …and you had nothing to talk about …. Is he “young” and strong enough to fully perform and open sails ( yes - it is very much physically demanding job and need full attention) … . Did he open sails or was under motor only for his convenience ?

Miami has it all - just make your research and be careful with “product - placement’ articles, literally advertising one particular boat / location for the convenience of the author = that boat owner :-)

  Our priority is to  put smile on your face  and have a good time. We want to  exceed your expectations  and never under deliver. Quite opposite indeed -we’d rather surprise you in a positive way rather than promise you things and "under deliver".

We have started our family operation so we can offer services and treat our guests as we would like to be treated as guests:  with respect, professional, reliable, fun. 

Unlike others we don’t promise things we do not deliver. We do not lure with fake extras and later make excuses. All reservations are in writing and you know what you get. There is no fake fotos, no photoshop “beautifications” of our boats nor the crew.

Bring your camera  and crew member will take pictures for you or we can use our gear. Please do not be fooled by ads of free professional photography is included - as of what we know - nobody will offer you truly professional services for free ( if they are really good) as such services require 2 assistants to hold reflectors and modifiers (screens) to create/control light, more sophisitcated equipment ( not just DSLR/s NIKON or CANON that almost every body has nowadays) That does not make you a professional …. There is much more to that. We love photography but we don’t call ourselves pros just because we have a DSLR Nikon or Canon (nowadays everybody calls themselves pro :-)

For truly professional services - you may hire photographer and invite him aboard. Research well, as most “prof” in Miami may be a person with DSLR and silly skills behind 

Good Photography is an ART for which you need a good eye and tech skills (science) as well.

Timing - Most sailors know that even a full day is not enough to enjoy true sailing trip - but due to time - half day ( 4 hrs ) is our most popular charter .

We don’t recommend anything shorter than 4 hrs - as honestly 2 h ride ( offered by many older retired captains) means  leaving marina - motor and back in slip. 

Each marina (in Miami) = no exceptions , have access channel that can be 10-20 -30 min long - before you can open sail, based on wind direction of course  - so calculating entry and docking part - you know your answer what 2 hrs on sailboat is a ride from any location.

For some captains - due to their age - it is more convenient - as it is the easiest trip and does not even require opening sails …. just motoring … and for them least effort and most money earned by doing 2-4 a day short riders under motor.

For sure this is not BEST value you were hoping for ...

I recently booked a yacht charter in Miami with Myke for Father’s Day. I am from Colorado which made the process quite difficult until, thankfully, we were in contact with Myke. Myke took care of everything for our yacht rental and answered all our questions. The crew on the yacht was AMAZING! My family had the time of their lives. Anytime we are back in Miami looking to rent a yacht, Myke will be without a doubt who we book with.

This was my first time renting a boat in Miami and I’m sooo happy I found Myke to work with. I’ve heard so many terrible stories about yacht rental companies in Miami, especially after giving them a deposit for the yacht. I did a lot of research, and eventually found Myke. This company is phenomenal and made the process of booking a luxury yacht charter so easy. Vanessa helped me plan my 40 th  birthday celebration. It was a truly unforgettable experience.  I booked a 150’ yacht in The Bahamas. During my trip, we explored the Exumas. Each day was better than the day before!  My favorite part of the trip was swimming with the nurse sharks at Compass Cay. The captain and crew were also incredible. They were extremely professional and friendly. I never had a chance to even ask for anything, they were on top of everything!  I recommend using this company for your next yacht charter.

Most of our yachts depart from Miami Beach Marina in South Beach. We have other yachts that depart from different marinas in south beach. We also have some options that leave from downtown Miami.

Yes, you must bring the card that you used to pay for the yacht rental and you must bring a photo ID that matches the credit card used to book the yacht rental. The photo ID must also clearly match the individual presenting the ID and credit card.

Miami Blue Yacht Rental does not allow for cancellations under any circumstances within 30 days of the departure of your trip. Cancellations made between 90 days and 30 days of your trip’s departure are subject to a 50% refund of the total cost of your charter. Cancellations made prior to 90 days of your trip departure will receive a full refund.

The cancellation policy above applies only to day trips. Any overnight charters will follow a separate cancellation policy that will be outlined in the charter contract between Miami Blue Yacht Rental and the client.

Miami Blue Yacht Rental will cancel charters if there is inclement weather preventing us from conducting the trip. In the event of inclement weather, we will issue a credit that is valid for 3 years after the initial charter departure date. That credit can be used towards a future charter with Miami Blue Yacht Rental.

Miami Blue Yacht Rental reserves the right to determine whether or not the weather permits us from conducting the charter.

For almost all of our Miami yachts we can only take a maximum of 12 guests due to United States Coast Guard regulations. Even if the boat you rented is over 100ft, it can only take a maximum of 12 passengers. The only Miami charter yachts that can take more than 12 passengers are event or party yachts with special certifications.

To rent a yacht with Miami Blue, the individual making payment and signing the charter contract must be at least 18 years of age. Customers are required to submit full payment up front to reserve a yacht or boat. If the departure date is more than 90 days away, customers are allowed to rent a boat or yacht with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance will be charged 90 days before the trip departs.

On the day of the charter, the individual who made the payment and signed the contract is required to be on board the vessel. That individual must arrive at the vessel with the credit card they used to book the boat or yacht, and they must arrive with a photo ID that matches the name on the credit card used to book the charter.

Yes, you can bring whatever food, drinks, or alcohol you’d like. We just ask that you don’t bring red wine because it stains the boats. You can also arrange to have your charter catered. We will connect you with one of our preferred partners who will handle all of the catering. In most cases, you can have the catering delivered to the yacht prior to your trip. That way everything is setup and ready to go when you arrive.

Yes. You are free to switch to a different yacht or boat if you give us at least 48 hours’ notice and the alternative yacht or boat is available on the date requested. If there is an additional cost of the new yacht, you would simply need to pay the additional balance for the upgraded vessel.

Yes, you can have your yacht rental catered. We can connect you with local caterers who can deliver food to the boat prior to the charter. You are also free to arrange food with your own caterer and bring it with you on the charter.

Smoking rules vary depending on which Miami yacht you book. Most of our yachts allow for vaping and electronic cigarettes on any part of the yacht that is not enclosed. Some of our yachts allow for smoking but only in specific areas on the yacht. Usually somewhere off the back of the yacht so that the smoke and ash does not get on the yacht.

The number of bedrooms on your Miami yacht tour will depend on the type and size of the yacht you book. All of our Miami yacht charter listings have information on the number of beds and the number of staterooms for each yacht. What’s included on your Miami yacht tour will depend on which yacht you book. Each of our yacht your listings state the water toys and floats that are included. If you are looking to add additional water toys to your Miami yacht rental feel to call one of our agents and see what additional water toys we have available.

• Balloons are not allowed on board on of our yacht or boat rentals. Balloons can cause issues and make it difficult for the crew to navigate. Additionally, if the balloons pop and fall into the water they are terrible for the environment. • Self-tanning oils and bronzers are not allowed onboard. The cause stains on the yacht’s upholstery that are very difficult to remove. • Please avoid wearing denim or jean clothing as the dyes from these clothes can stain the upholstery when they get wet. • Please do not wear any temporary hair dye or wigs. The ink seeps out due to the moisture and the humidity and can cause bad stains. • Please avoid bringing wed wine or other similar drinks. If they spill they can cause stains that are extremely difficult to clean and remove. • No Hookah, shisha, or other items that have an open flame such as BBQ equipment, gas, propane, coals, etc. • We do not allow glitter or confetti on our yacht charters. • No pets are allowed on board our yachts. • Any damage that is caused to the yacht upholstery, flooring, or other surfaces caused by beverages, smoking, or dye from wet clothing will incur additional charges for the repair and damages to be fixed.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.
