This was the most epic trip. We took our friends and family to Catalina for an amazing day.  Captain Mark was absolutely phenomenal.  He was super fun and accommodating.  He took us around wherever we wanted to go and care of everything. He set up all the toys and made sure we had everything we wanted at all times.  The boat is gorgeous and was spotless.  This was one of the most memorable days ever.  Thank you!!!

Captain Mark and Aperitivo = Only the Best! We had a super fun full life aquatic day for the Huntington Beach Airshow with fam and friends. Yachting with Captain Mark felt more like yachting with family. Mark has a boating CV that is lifelong, outstanding professional experience with a penchant for safety. That said; it was max fun knowing we were in great hands and enjoyed the day with blue skies, blue water and a high caliber Airshow out in the ocean.  I even brought my father whom recently turned 79. He became as youthful as a teenager on full smiles out on the water with Mark showing him the ropes of yacht Aperitivo. All my friends are already calling me to make plans and get their families out on the water. Highly recommended, do not hesitate, get out and yacht; nothing but outstanding family/friends memories that will not be forgotten; thank you Mark, thank you Aperitivo 100%.

We chartered the Aperitivo for my daughter’s 15th birthday. Mark the Captain made us all feel comfortable and safe. His experience and knowledge of the ocean were very apparent. Everyone had a great time swimming, hanging out on the swim float, and paddleboarding. I had no idea how fast 4 hours could go by. The kids all had a blast and were very grateful of their time on the water. If you’re in the Newport Beach area and want to spend some quality time on a luxury vessel, then book this boat. How many people fit on a duffy electric rental boat.

Our Duffy boats can fit up to 12 people max, depending on the size of the boat.

Do you allow dogs on the boats?

Yes! Furry friends under 25lbs are welcome to come along and enjoy the bay cruise!

Does Duffy Boats have any food, drinks or merchandise available?

Yes have bottled water available, but don’t offer any other food or beverage. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy on the boat. We currently don’t have any merchandise for sale.

How can I purchase a Duffy Boat Gift Card?

We sell gift cards in our rental office. If you are not able to come in, please contact [email protected] and we can make arrangements to mail the gift card to you.

Is the boat easy to drive and how old do you have to be?

You must be 21 years old to rent a Duffy Boat. Our boats are as easy to drive as a golf cart and they have a top speed of 5 mph. Before you depart, we provide a detailed map of Newport Harbor, explain the boundaries and popular routes, and cover how to operate the boat.

Do you provide life jackets?

Yes, we have life jackets for all ages. Children 12 and under are required by law to wear a life jacket while on board. Infants in a car seat or baby carrier are not required to wear a life jacket, however, we still provide you with one to have on board. All adult life jackets are stowed underneath the seat cushions.

Is there music on the boat?

Every Duffy Electric Boat rental has a stereo system on board, complete with radio and Bluetooth for connecting to your Bluetooth enabled devices.

Where do we park?

We have free parking at our location, however, space is limited so carpooling is highly recommended. If our on-site lot is full upon arrival, street parking may be available, or there is metered parking at the large public lot across Pacific Coast Highway, located at 208 Tustin Avenue (the “Avon Lot”).

What time should I show up to my reservation?

We recommend arriving 20 minutes before your reservation time in order to get checked in and find parking.

What can I bring with me?

You are welcome to bring any food or beverage—and if you bring a cooler, we’ll supply the ice!

Will my kids have fun?

Absolutely! Duffy Electric Boats is a very kid-friendly environment! We have activity books filled with coloring pages and a fun “I Spy…” game—and they can enter into our monthly coloring contest as well! The Harbor is filled with exciting sights including various sea life, regular sailboat races, commercial fishing boats, and even a Ferris wheel at the Fun Zone!

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for our standard rentals. If your reservation is not canceled prior to 24 hours before your scheduled rental time, you will be charged in full.

Can I load and/or decorate the boat while I wait for the rest of my party to arrive?

You will not be able to access the boats until everyone in your party is present and you are ready to depart the dock. Due to limited functional dock space, if any portion of your party is going to be late, you may load the boat, depart the dock, and then return to the dock to pick them up when they arrive—you may not sit on the boat at the dock and wait. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Great communication about how to find the dock, which can often be challenging with other boat rentals. Staff was friendly & walk you through how to operate your boat, maps & mini fridge included. (We booked a two hour 22" electric duffy). Boat was clean and very comfortable. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of a 5, is the boats max speed. We were thrilled to be floating along at the leisurely pace, but its inability to pick up speed in the event of crossing boats made for quick & clever navigation skills. Will absolutely be back! We had four passengers total and had more than enough room, our rental time was 5:30-7:30pm which provided for an amazing sunset ride with snacks and beverages brought from home.

Wow, the duffy boat rental was the highlight of our weekend! We came here with a group of 9 girls for a bachelorette celebration and planned to incorporate a 2-hour duffy boat cruise as part of our weekend. Can I just say I can't remember the last time I've felt more relaxed and carefree?? The weather was PERFECT, sunny and breezy on the water and just so low stress and easy. Since we had plans for a Saturday morning during high season, I do recommend booking a number of weeks ahead of time, we had no issue. We brought our own ice and drinks on board and I drove the boat myself. Really pretty easy to get used to, maybe there was a little zig-zagging at the beginning! We explored the expansive Newport Bay harbor, and even decided to go for dock service at Woody's Wharf. You don't even have to get out of the boat! Full food and drink service right from the dock, amazing. 100% will book again, even if just for a couples' retreat! Highly highly recommend.

2 hour duffy boat rental, easy to drive!

The Service: Tristan was assisting us at the check-in kiosk. Super friendly and attentive! He prepared the boat for us efficiently. He gave us details instructions how to operate the boat, safety information and even helped us to connect to Bluetooth so we could enjoy our boat ride with music. So thoughtful! The Boat Ride: The boat is well maintained and clean. Very easy to operate. We could bring food and beverages onboard. Very fun and relaxing boat ride, perfect for a family outing! The kids will absolutely love this. It's nice to see beautiful houses and all kinds of water sports on the water. The Parking: Large parking lot right next to the pier. Less than 5 minutes walk to dock/check-in kiosk. Metered parking $3.5 per hour. * It's a bit tricky to find the check-in kiosk since it's not very visible. When you see the Balboa Pavilion building, go towards the right side and walk to the back of the building. The check-in kiosk is right next to the dock.

COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL The employees are children shooting off fireworks while we are preparing to board our boat. The boats are trash. We booked for 2 hours and 30 min after we left the power of the boat went so low it took 1 1/2 hours to get back. When returning to the dock we did not have enough power to steer the boat and they told us it was our fault. They were also extremely rude toy wife and extremely disrespectful. I believe these children are the owners kids so I don't believe anything will be done.

We were so lucky to get the last pontoon boat that they offered.. It was a Sunday and it was a gorgeous day outside so you can imagine everyone wanting to be out on the water . They were so gracious and so kind. It was so easy to rent. We came back just a few minutes late, but they were super nice about it. we would highly recommend renting any boat from Newport Harbor boat rentals.

We did their 2hr Duffy Boat rental. They offer a 1hr one as well. Such a fun experience. You can bring snacks and drinks onto the boat. You do have to drive the boat yourself but it's pretty simple. It's a bit cheaper to rent on a weekday than a weekend. The boat was nice and clean. I believe it seats up to 12. We had a group of 5 and had plenty of room to move around comfortably.

Be cautious with the security deposit. They never refunded my $500 and claimed it wasn't in their system. After three positive experiences, they've lost me as a customer due to this shady behavior.

Fabulous duffy boat experience! The boat was fun and easy to drive around the harbor. The guys who helped us before and after the boat trip were absolutely great! They were informative, helpful, and patient! We will definitely be back!

Great experience touring the Newport harbor area. Boat is very easy to use. There are alots of seating, space and cup holders on the boat!!!! Boats have an open area deck area and the inside has plastic windows that help keep out chilly wind but can also be opened to let the breeze in... You can take on your own food and drinks. Just make sure you clean up after yourself to avoid a cleaning fee.

Over the summer, I wanted to find things that my 88 yr old mother, husband, sister and 21 yr old niece would enjoy doing together and I am SOOOO GLAD I booked a ride here. First of all, the boats have all been upgraded so don't pay any mind to old photos or complaints about the boats. They are very clean and roomy and comfortable and FUN!! Second, the young men who attend to the guests are also super duper nice and attentive - my very picky mom kept wanting to set one of them up with my niece. Third, we booked the sunset ride at 7 pm and got to see the big orange ball go bye bye. Lastly, I want to commend the owners for their incredibly good communication all the way through the process. Great reminders and also they gave the absolute BEST directions on where to park and how to get to the place. I am directionally challenged and I found it so helpful. Anyways, give your friends and family this wonderful gift of experience too. I don't know what the other places are like but I would totally come back and I am very hard to please.

We are committed to customer service and making the experience as smooth as possible. So we have manually created a parking map of the area for your convenience with some alternative locations for parking. In the attached map, areas in green are typically free, but are also often used by other folks that are seeking free parking, so please allot yourself sufficient time to find a spot, get to our location and get checked in.

Areas in purple are typically metered, but most meters are only until 6pm, but please check signage to ensure that you are in compliance with any local city or state ordinances. Sometimes you have to pay a couple of dollars and sometimes you do not.

Additional options would be to legally park in a nearby neighborhood and take an Uber/Lyft down to our location, or walk if it is close enough.

Again, please make sure that you observe any and all city/state ordinances (or rules and regulations if on private property) wherever you decide to park.

Triangle Square is also only about 8-10 minutes away and is a very reasonable Uber/Lyft away. It’s a great location to grab dinner before or after your cruise and they have a large, complimentary parking structure. If you do park here however, please make sure to observe any posted ordinances, rules or regulations.

Girls trip out on the Duffy was a great reunion and Joe at Voyagers was a super helpful, friendly owner. The boat was clean and a little slow but that didn't really bother us because you can't beat the view on Newport Bay. Joe was very understanding and helpful when we got slightly lost and gave great directions so that we got back quickly! What a great and fun way to spend your day!

We decided to rent out a duffy boat, and it was extremely easy booking it online through Voyagers Rentals. I liked that they put clear instructions on where to park or what to expect. The boat was also very clean and the price was reasonable for 2 hours on the duffy. My friends and I had a ton of fun! Will definitely come back again if we're on balboa island :)

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.
