I have been having Larry help me for years in both purchasing and selling boats. I even worked with him before he started his own company. In the early years when financing was tougher, he helped me find the right people. The key word for Royal Marine is "integrity". Buying and selling in this market can be tough. Larry and his company are some of the best in the business in my opinion.
I want to update my review and give these good people an extra star. The gentleman I worked with was truly wonderful and accomodating. My son told me that I should have anticipated that I would need the trailer title and then I would have had it in plenty of time. I agree with him.
I bought my boat from Larry at Royal Marine and that was a good experience. However, when I contacted Royal Marine to sell my boat, I was assigned a very nice (could not have been a nicer or more accomodating person) sales associate. Unfortunately, he either did not know very much or was very inexperienced. I listed the boat in March and it was never put on their location where it could be seen until October. The boat basically sold in late September, but I cannot collect the payment because no one told me I had to deliver a physical title to the boat trailere. I never received a title from Royal Marine when I bought the boat but somehow Larry got the trailer reregistered into my name and I kept the license up to date. On the Monday of the closing, I was told for the first time that I needed to go to DMV and get a replacement title. My sales person knew that I did not have a copy of the title. In fact, as I told him early in the process when I gave him all the paper work I had on the boat (including title to the boat), he had every piece of paper I had ever had concerning the boat. So how does it happen that I am first informed that I need to contact the DMV on the Monday of Closing. The people at Royal Marine are good people, but my boat is small and inexpensive and I feel as though nobody really paid a lot of attention to me or to selling it. The whole situation with the boat trailer title left a sour taste.
