I have eaten at the CYC innumerable times dating back 40+ years. I'll start by acknowledging my privilege is being raised by a family that can afford such a club membership and the ability to eat out. That being said, I compare today's lunch experience to that I might get at a nicer sit-down restaurant. We had our choice of tables out on the patio which were well-frequented on a beautiful day like today. Sunny and warm but not too hot. Umbrellas over the table providing the necessary shade. Being a member, my mom was greeted warmly by staff she knew quite well. We were handed nice menus which offered several decent salads - something that makes my stomach smile. I quickly landed on what I wanted. In theory I was "buying" for belated Mother's Day - but it would go on Mom's bill. I checked out the prices for the salads and they seemed OK - but then again, none included a protein. If I wanted a protein, add $6-7 more dollars to the $14 salad charge. They did offer 1/2 sizes so I expected a large, non-protein salad when I ordered. Mom got a sandwich which came with a side. She ordered fruit but later added fries when she smelled the order brought out to the table near us. I had a Diet Coke and we both drank water. I quickly emptied my soda - and it was NEVER refilled. Big strike in my book. Thinking back, our waters were also never revisited. Oversight or is that just the rule - 1 fill unless you ask for another? Don't know. We were there for an early lunch and were in no rush. Looking back, the food took a reasonable amount of time to come out. Mom's sandwich was "small" but "very good." Most of the fruit cup was melon which she does not eat. So I did. That left 2 grapes and 2 pieces of pineapple for her. She said the fries were very good, too. My salad was fair to smaller size when compared to what I had imagined. It was good tasting but not that filling. I am definitely glad I didn't get the smaller order as that would have been tiny. We finished eating at our leisure and continued to chat. At no time was there a need for us to hurry and there always open tables available. The atmosphere was light and friendly - very casual as I saw people eating after church like we were but also dressed in shorts and t's. Mom comes here often and I was more than happy to join her as it was her pick for her day. I doubt I would revisit a place like this if it were a public restaurant. But back to where I started, I'm just grateful that I have the opportunity to eat here and with my mom.

My family has belonged to the CYC as long as I can remember. I've eaten here more times than I could ever count. I even had my wedding reception here. However, I never thought to give a YELP review before now. I ate dinner there last night with my parents (who actually are the members). We had a reservation for 6:30 but arrived early as we were hungry. We ate on the patio which is casual - which is good as I was in town visiting and didn't bring anything nicer than tennis shoes, t-shirt and shorts. The view from the patio is beautiful - looking out over the boats, harbor and lake. The weather was perfect. Multiple activities are often going on. Last night a wedding party was being held in another area of the clubhouse. The menu is always excellent - a variety of selections and always very good. Being a salad person, I was impressed to see many to pick from. I narrowed it down to 2 - and went with what was similar to a wedge salad. It had a thick slice of iceberg lettuce and included heirloom cherry tomatoes halves, crumbled bleu, applewood bacon chunks, egg and I asked for grilled chicken too. It came with a ranch dressing on the side by request - but I didn't need it at all. The flavors of the salad fixings carried the meal fine by themselves. My dad ordered the salmon, mom got a perch sandwich. But were excellent I'm told. The staff at the CYC is just amazing. They have to be to cater to the clientele that belong to the club. They are incredibly accommodating and so very sweet as the many members get up in years and become even more demanding and ornery. I so appreciate their treatment of the patrons and thank them with all my heart. SO - I will definitely be eating here again. And I look forward to it.

Enjoyable lunch on the deck Service was really good ....nice team, very focused Great Greek salad

Tucked into a protected cove on the southern coast of Lake Erie, you will find this throwback from summer days of yesteryear. You can totally imagine yourself on the outdoor deck of the club 30, 40, even 50 years ago. This historic club is quaint if not slightly weather worn. The grounds are surrounded by high cliffs and tall trees. The staff is friendly and the drinks are stiff. Sunset overlooking the lake is a sight to be seen. I love that during the summer the sailing camps are filled with young kids criss-crossing the narrow channel. You certainly need to have years of experience to navigate your boats from the docks out to the lake. Not for the novice or tipsy driver as there are potential challenges at every turn. You have a mix of pampered privileged teeny boppers and silver haired early birds congregating in the clubhouse in the early evening. I imagine it's more of a family affair during the day by the pool. Slightly posh and yet not too stuffy. I still however, feel compelled to behave as though my nana is present at all times. Such is the experience at most yachting establishments. Inappropriate behavior is certain to be frowned upon. The hot popcorn machine is a big hit with all the afternoon revelers. I myself can't get beyond the idea of too many unwashed hands in the mix. wah wah Being such a lovely club it's sad to admit that the restrooms are in need of a facelift. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed our time on Lake Erie, ate way too much fresh fish, and will certainly be back for more next summer.

Nice yacht club pool. Clean and safe and adequate poolside service. Bathrooms aren't serviced enough as they are often without toilet paper.

Pool

First off, Security too tight. I understand that the Yacht Club is private but, I told the tall fat security guard that I was a guest of a friend that was a member. Long story short my friend came to talk to the guard and I got in. Second, children around the Yacht Club are too wild. Walking around the boats I ran into a group of young adults that were very rude. All in all my experience at the yacht club was sub par at best.

Great staff, family friendly atmosphere and focus. This is the place to be for families with small children looking to get into boating and sailing.

Not sure what to expect when I got here. Food and service was great! I wish I could go back but I am not a member.
