Built by Nobiskrug, her cool, bright interior is devoid of clutter, creating clean lines and a calm, relaxing ambience throughout. The impressive main salon is a popular chill out area and a large, stylish space for entertaining, with a long dining table for formal dinners. Continuing the indoor/outdoor theme, a circular bar connects the salon with the aft deck which is large enough that all guests can be in the same place without feeling crowded, whether relaxing on the sofas, or the loungers on the raised circular sunbathing platform.
Head to the bridge deck's luxurious indoor movie theatre with its three double daybeds, large screen and blacked out walls for the full cinema experience. Guests love catching up on major sporting events, or watching a movie in the cinema, at any time of day. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the sheltered bridge deck dining area, then take a coffee and a newspaper (printed on board) to the aft seating area and make the most of the morning sun.
The sun deck is the hub of this luxury charter yacht during the day. The forward section is a sunbathing haven with a refreshing jacuzzi, and sun pads at every angle. On the shaded aft deck, take a morning yoga class or an early evening massage then, when it gets dark, kick back on the sofas as the area is transformed into an atmospheric outdoor cinema.
SIREN's accommodation is fresh and tranquil, with six cabins for 12 guests. The master suite is airy and spacious with full length windows, an office and a fold-down balcony. Extensive storage space is provided in the walk-in wardrobe, which leads into large his and hers bathrooms with Lalique fittings. A fold-down double bed can be assembled in the office area and sectioned off to create additional family accommodation.
Four en suite cabins are located on the lower deck, including a VIP with a sofa area and desk, two double cabins and a twin. A further double cabin is positioned on the bridge deck, with an elevator connecting all three interior levels.
Work out in the cool, shaded beach club gym with its fresh air and water level view. Then cool off in the sea-pool, leap off the swim platform or ask the crew to launch the extensive selection of action-packed watertoys.

“While watching the boat slowly taking shape in Rendsburg, we suddenly became aware of how seductive and mysterious she seemed. We just knew then that we had to call her SIREN and we are absolutely delighted with the result.” The Owner
In Greek mythology SIRENs lured sailors with their song…the multi-award-winning SIREN yacht entices with her clean lines and technical finesse.
SIREN’s elegant silhouette…
…attracts attention everywhere she goes and not only along the French coast. The allure of this luxury yacht lies not only in the slender, finely-curved hull lines on her forecastle that make her appear longer than her 74 m, but also in her almost extravagant outside spaces, in those wide corridors and staircases that allow a stroll à deux, side by side and without bottlenecks.
Yet another reason may be the numerous technical innovations that designers and engineers have come up with and that set her apart from other yachts.
…is the world’s first luxury yacht with a hydraulic foldable helicopter platform that can also be used as a sundeck, a dance floor or a stage.
Also the Owner‘s side terrace on SIREN yacht was an innovation of its time.

Siren arrived two years later, also courtesy of Nobiskrug, with a sleek, sporty and timeless profile and a silver-gray hull that “shimmers in the sea and absorbs the light all around.”
As with Triple Seven , large exterior deck spaces are one of Siren ’s key features, with lots of sunbathing options and alfresco dining spots. This is best seen on the sun deck with the jacuzzi, which forms the hub of the yacht. Sunpads forward are twinned with a shaded aft deck for yoga and massage treatments. There is also lounge seating for cozy evenings in front of the outdoor cinema. A second indoor cinema is located on the bridge deck, with three double daybeds and blacked-out walls for the full experience.
“After building Triple Seven , I wanted to change the way we would use Siren to enhance outdoor living space and add clean, uncluttered and simple interiors that allow the sea and surrounding beauty to be the main palette,” Reuben told Robb Report . “At the time it was quite avantgarde, because most yachts were about the interiors, not the outdoor space.”
The beach club—a water-level area that Reuben credits David with dreaming up—highlights this ethos. “The beach club is my favorite place onboard, close to the sea and away from it all,” she says. “It certainly created a trend that all upcoming yachts followed. We have our gym there as well, and I like working out on the swim platform.”
The master suite is defined by its adjoining spaces, with a walk-in wardrobe that leads into large his and hers bathrooms with Lalique fittings. A fold-down double bed can be assembled in the office area and sectioned off to create additional family accommodation. Four ensuite cabins are located on the lower deck, including a VIP with a sofa area and desk, two double cabins and a twin. A fifth double cabin is positioned on the bridge deck, with an elevator connecting all three interior levels.
It was during the design of Triple Seven’s minimalist interior by Newcruise Design that Reuben was introduced to Katharine Raczek, a recent graduate who just started working at the Hamburg-based studio. She enlisted the young designer to assist with Siren .
“The design brief was that it shouldn’t feel like a yacht interior but more like an airy apartment overlooking Central Park in New York or Hyde Park in London,” says Raczek. “It had to be more modern than Triple Seven in a radical way.”
Across the interior, silk hand-knotted carpets, fine wool and cashmere are twinned with straight, curly and birdseye maple, black-veined limestone and marble. Bleached maple veneer is used for the interior walls. As a design highlight, Raczek points to the floating central staircase that wraps around the elevator. It’s underlit, so it appears to “dance at night” on the open, foldable helipad.
“I resolved to use as few interior finishes as possible to create an environment of calm and serenity,” says Reuben. “I also didn’t want to be too precious, as I have a large family with grandchildren and wanted a yacht where no areas would be off limits.”
“I love Siren ’s design and tend to keep renewing her with the same fabrics, keeping her as fresh as the first day I embarked,” says Reuben. “I feel joy each time I approach her on the tender. She is my great love.”
Sharing the love is possible, since Siren is up for charter via Burgess Yachts.

Motor Yacht
Luxury motor yacht Siren, built in 2008 by German shipyard Nobiskrug, is a contemporary-styled superyacht on which comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces are paramount. With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she features exterior and interior design by Newcruise. This sleekly-designed vessel measures 73.15 metres and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
Motor yacht Siren is the second collaboration from her commissioning company Kristal Waters, shipyard and design team who also created her slightly smaller predecessor 777 (Triple Seven). The superyacht’s design focus is on sleek and stylish aesthetics but without the clutter, balancing indoor and outdoor living spaces with comfort and entertainment at the forefront.
As detailed by her owners the yacht’s interior is clean and contemporary, mostly fitted with woods of dark-brown-stained oak for the soles, whitewashed or bird’s-eye maple for the walls and furniture in zebrano stained gray. These woods were subject to meticulous selection before being deemed of high enough quality, and more than 700 trees were viewed before the 30 best were selected. Most of the furniture onboard is also bespoke while hand-knotted wool and silk, or nettle fibers carpet the floors.
Interior design also pays special attention to high-quality details, including scatter cushions and bed covers adorned with pearls in the master suite and a dining table with an extending glass midsection that can double as a backlit centrepiece due to its electronic raising and lowering function.
An elevator operates internally between the upper and lower decks for easy guest transportation while a circular helipad also doubles as a sunbathing platform or dance floor area. The sundeck houses an outdoor cinema that complements the grand indoor cinema on the bridge deck with its adjustable 104 inch screen.
Siren also boats a generous swim platform with room for several sun lounges and a spacious tender garage that houses a 12 metre Novamarine, 7.5 metre tender and a rescue boat. The main deck sports large, full-aspect windows with sliding horizontal screens that give the area a slightly more apartment feel rather than a traditional yachting ambience.
Amongst her six cabins are an indulgent owner’s suite; three Queen staterooms; and a twin/double cabin. Like 777, the master suite which takes up almost a third of the entire main deck, has a private study which can be converted into an individual double cabin by electronic sliding panels. The master suite also boasts an ingenious fold-down private terrace. Four guest cabins are located on the lower deck, and another on the bridge deck.
Featuring a dedicated crew, Siren is an excellent charter yacht for luxury vacations. The yacht cruises comfortably at 14 knots while her crew of 16 under the direction of Captain Charles Menzies ensure the needs of every guest are met.
The luxury motor yacht is equipped with an armada of water toys to provide endless entertainment during any yacht charter. Onboard water toys include Wave Runners, Jet Skis and a range of watersports equipment.
Siren cruises the Caribbean during the winter charter season and the West Mediterranean during the summer.

Sunk Mallorca-based superyacht likely to cost insurers at least $150 million, experts say

The British-flagged 56-metre-long (184-foot-long) yacht, which the experts estimated cost around $40 million. | PERINI NAVI PRESS OFFICE / HANDOUT
Insurers of the Mallorca -based Bayesian superyacht that sank this month, killing tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and six others, could be on the hook for at least $150 million , according to the first estimates by industry experts. The British-flagged 56-metre-long (184-foot-long) yacht, which the experts estimated cost around $40 million, capsized and went down on August 19 within minutes of being hit by a pre-dawn storm while anchored off northern Sicily.
The superyacht’s hull was insured against physical damage by yacht insurance provider OMAC and a consortium of insurers including Travelers Companies Inc, Navium Marine and Convex, Reuters reported last week. Its protection and indemnity (P&I) insurance, which typically covers third-party liability claims including for environmental damage, injury and death, was provided by British Marine. The hull was likely insured for around $40 million, while the P&I cover would be larger, insurance sources said.
“Our understanding is that the cost of the boat was between $40 and $50 million, so the limit of the hull & machinery policy was probably around those values,” said Marcos Alvarez, managing director, global financial institution ratings at Morningstar DBR. The P&I policy would likely be “several multiples” of the hull policy, or $200-300 million, Alvarez added, noting it would also likely cover liability payments even if the captain or crew are found to be negligent.

Prosecutors in the town of Termini Imerese, near Palermo, are investigating the captain and two other crew members. An investigation does not imply guilt or mean formal charges will follow. Prosecutors have said the probe would take time and require salvaging the wreck. Oscar Seikaly, CEO of broker NSI Insurance Group, that provides yacht insurance, estimated the hull value at $40-70 million, but said P&I cover might not total more than $100 million. P&I insurance would also cover recovery of the Bayesian, said Francesco Dubbioso, country manager for Italy for insurer Alta Signa Europe, who estimated the superyacht’s value at $30 million to $40 million.
Reuters is the first to report the potential insurance costs. OMAC, Travelers and Navium Marine did not immediately respond to Reuters’ for comment. Convex declined to comment. The Bayesian disaster, which has puzzled experts who said the boat would have been built to withstand a severe storm, adds to recent woes for yacht insurers , who have faced a raft of hurricane losses in the past few years. Premium rates have risen by four to five times in the past couple of years in parts of the U.S. and the Caribbean, and yacht insurers have cut the amount of cover they provide because of the risks, Seikaly said.
As a result, insurers have increased rates and re-evaluated their guidelines and risk appetite , according to industry experts. As well as hurricanes, insured losses have mostly stemmed from severe storms, floods, and other weather events in North America, the Caribbean, and Europe, according to a report by broker Marsh. Seikaly said four clients had last week been ready to buy boats but changed their minds because of the high cost of insurance.
Climate change was also likely to add to yacht insurers’ worries, Seikaly added, as it throws up more unexpected events. “Whoever thought a storm in the Mediterranean in the month of August is going to sink a ship?” The captain of the yacht, James Cutfield is recovering at his home in Mallorca , according to sources close to him, while a team of lawyers, led by Aldo Mordiglia, is working on his defence. The captain is said to have arrived on the island, where he lives with his family, on Tuesday night aboard a private jet which flew from Palma to Palermo to collect him. Although his passport has been withdrawn by the Italian judiciary, Cutfield has a certified photocopy which allows him freedom of movement.

The Bayesian disaster, which has puzzled experts who said the boat would have been built to withstand a severe storm, adds to recent woes for yacht insurers, who have faced a raft of hurricane losses in the past few years.
Premium rates have risen by four to five times in the past couple of years in parts of the U.S. and the Caribbean, and yacht insurers have cut the amount of cover they provide because of the risks, Seikaly said.
As a result, insurers have increased rates and re-evaluated their guidelines and risk appetite, according to industry experts.
“Whoever thought a storm in the Mediterranean in the month of August is going to sink a ship?”
