GRACE yacht, formerly known as Kibo, is a 266-foot superyacht built back in 2014 by Abeking & Rassmussen . Her annual running cost is approximately US $10-14 million.

Grace yacht is currently one of the 58 motor yachts to be included in the 80-90 meter-sized yachts. She now ranks 126th in the world as one of the largest yachts ever created.

Designed by Terence Disdale , an award-winning designer responsible for creating some of the most renowned superyachts in the world.

Terence Disdale has had no formal training in yacht design or engineering, but despite this, he is still one of the most sought-after designers in the world.

Along with the GRACE yacht, he also has several yachts that he designed.

One of these is the Al Salamah, the 280 million dollar superyacht owned by once Saudi Arabian Crown Prince, Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Pelorus superyacht, and the Tatoosh superyacht, a 303-foot superyacht owned by the American businessman, Paul Allen.

Onboard the GRACE yacht is an elevator, a beach club, a grand piano, underwater lights, and even a swimming platform.

Adding to this, she also has zero-speed stabilizers to keep guests and crew alike safe and stable when going out to the rough seas.

She also has full air-conditioning to keep guests cool in the hot summer. Speaking of guests, the GRACE yacht can comfortably accommodate lots of people at a time.

She can easily host 12 guests at a time by utilizing her six suite rooms and one VIP cabin, with a cabin configuration of 1 Master and four doubles.

Along with this, she can also hold up to 23 crew members to attend to the guest’s needs.

Specifications

She boasts an incredible 81.00 meters or 265.75 ft length, making her the 126th biggest superyacht globally. Adding to this, she also has a beam of 14.00 meters or 45.93 ft and a draught of 3.50 meters or 11.5 ft.

GRACE yacht was engineered using a steel hull with an aluminum superstructure.

She currently weighs around 2,306 tons, and powering this behemoth are twin 2,000hp Caterpillar 3516-B engines partnered with her 170,000-liter fuel tank.

The GRACE yacht can comfortably cover a distance of over 4,500 nautical miles at cruising speeds of 14 knots and a maximum speed of 16.5 knots.

Along with this, she can carry upwards of 35,000 liters of water, so docking constantly to refill water is not a problem in this superyacht.

Her exterior was designed by the same company that crafted her interior, Terence Disdale, who has already developed 40 yachts and is responsible for the interior designs of 76 vessels.

Meet Grace, the timeless beauty that has captured the hearts of travelers since the 1950s. Grace is the epitome of youth and glamor, having lived a gallant life that includes serving as a submarine chaser during World War II and sophisticated host to Aristotle Onassis, John Issa, and Sir Winston Churchill.

Don't be fooled by her age—the completely renovated Grace is as young and chic as the princess who honeymooned aboard. Her elegance and refinement are unmatched, and her parties are legendary. Come experience the magic for yourself, as Grace takes you on a journey through the wonders of the Galapagos.

Once known as Monica and later as Rion, the M/Y Grace has a fascinating history. Commissioned by Argentinean Santiago Soulas, she originally weighed 298 tons and was 147 feet long with a 23-foot beam and a 12-foot draft.

Once enjoyed by Sir George Tilley in the late 1930s, she was conscripted by the British for the war effort in 1939. Stripped of her furnishings and paneling, she was used by the Royal Navy for coastal patrols during the War Years.

Grace played an important role during WWII as she patrolled the calm waters off the Isle of Wight. Later, she was dispatched to the beaches of Dunkirk for the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force during Operation Dynamo.

In a daring night operation, Rion and two other ships captured a German E-boat off the Isle of Wight. After engaging in a firefight, Rion delivered the final blow, securing the enemy vessel and escorting it to Portsmouth Harbour naval base.

Her heroics continued as she hunted a submarine on the night of March 23, 1941, making multiple depth charge runs. Refitted as a floating annex to the Royal Navy Hospital, she served until the end of the war, earning a new name, HMS Noir.

After being decommissioned in 1945, she was restored to her luxurious beginnings by her original builders, Camper & Nicholsons. She was then returned to Sir George Tilley on September 16, 1947, remaining with him until his death in 1951.

HMS Noir became the glamorous Arion under Aristotle Onassis' charter firm, hosting a stream of A-list celebrities and even welcoming Sir Winston Churchill aboard during her three-year reign as the queen of the seas.

Aristotle Onassis gave a royal gift to Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly: the luxurious yacht Arion. The prince spent weeks refurbishing the vessel, which would later welcome the Hollywood star to her new home in Monaco.

After the wedding, the royal couple began their honeymoon with a short stay in Mallorca, Spain, followed by a cruise aboard the yacht—which they christened Deo Juvente II—along the coasts of Corsica and Sardinia.

After being gifted to Monaco's royal couple, the yacht changed hands and was renamed Daska before becoming a popular charter in the Bahamas under Crest Shipping in the 1960s. She’s no stranger to crystalline waters.

Newly-named Angela continued her journey under the ownership of Valef Yachts in the Caribbean. After a heroic evacuation effort in the Lebanese Civil War and a stunning refurbishment, she remained a beloved luxury charter until 1982.

With a new identity as the M/Y Zein, named after one of John Issa’s daughters, she cruised along the East Coast. Zein remained a sought-after vessel, catching the attention of buyers such as Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft.

The M/Y Zein became the M/Y Grace in 2007, as Quasar Expeditions took her back to her most elegant times. With a complete refit and recent renovation, she continues to make headlines as the most elegant ship to cruise the Galapagos Islands.

A Summary of Motor Yacht GRACE

The motor yacht GRACE is a 36 metre 117 (foot) well sized steel vessel which was made by J muel White & and devised by JA Smith. Sleeping 8 passengers and 5 crew members, motor yacht GRACE was known by the name Curlew; Uss Psv 42 Leader (Usn); Curlew (Usn); Chito; Hyding; Paullu which was her build project name and/or yacht title.

New Build & Naval Architecture with respect to Luxury Yacht GRACE

JA Smith was the naval architect firm involved in the technical superyacht plans for GRACE. JA Smith is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this boat. Created by J muel White & the yacht was completed in the United Kingdom. She was successfully launched in Cowes in 1927 before being transferred to the owner. A reasonable feeling is manifested with a total beam (width) of 5.94 metres / 19.5 feet. With a 2.07m (6.8ft) draught (maximum depth) she is fairly shallow. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is created with the use of teak. In 1998 further refitting and modernisation was also finished.

Powered by two CATERPILLAR diesel engines, GRACE will attain a high speed of 12 knots. Her propulsion units are twin screw propellers. She also has an efficient range of 4000 miles when underway at her cruising speed of 9 knots. Her total HP is 720 HP and her total Kilowatts are 530.

Joseph Stiles

Joseph and Britta grew up a world apart but ended up finding each other and true love in the beautiful Virgin Islands. He grew up on a small family farm in the Pacific Northwest and she grew up with her toes in the sand on the white sandy beaches of Florida. Before moving to the Caribbean, Joseph received degrees the Culinary Arts and Patisserie and Baking from Western Culinary Institute in Portland Oregon. In 2009, he packed his bags for the islands where he immediately bought and resided on his new boat in the Virgin Islands. Britta came to St Croix as a PADI dive instructor in 2005. She worked in local dive shops and in the hospitality industry, while taking advantage of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean. She honed in her skills as being one of the premiere dive guides and instructors while living in St Croix. While the couple lived in St John Britta spent time aboard a 36' Pearson- "Kiote" offering day sailing excursions the shallow reefs that fringe the East end of the island. Her love of all things underwater is apparent by her enthusiasm to share her discoveries of animal and plant life while on your water adventures! Whether you're a beginner snorkeler or advanced scuba diver, her knowledge and expertise always delivers an amazing custom designed experience for everyone. Before embarking on the New Luxury Catamaran "Grace", Joseph and Britta were on the 50ft Catamaran "Dianna Rose" for 3 years and worked in tandem, perfecting a concierge experience with world class cuisine and custom tailored scuba and snorkel adventures for all levels. Joseph and Britta grew up a world apart but ended up finding each other and true love in the beautiful Virgin Islands. He grew up on a small family farm in the Pacific Northwest and she grew up with her toes in the sand on the white sandy beaches of Florida. Before moving to the Caribbean, Joseph received degrees the Culinary Arts and Patisserie and Baking from Western Culinary Institute in Portland Oregon. In 2009, he packed his bags for the islands where he immediately bought and resided on his new boat in the Virgin Islands. Britta came to St Croix as a PADI dive instructor in 2005. She worked in local dive shops and in the hospitality industry, while taking advantage of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean. She honed in her skills as being one of the premiere dive guides and instructors while living in St Croix. While the couple lived in St John Britta spent time aboard a 36' Pearson- "Kiote" offering day sailing excursions the shallow reefs that fringe the East end of the island. Her love of all things underwater is apparent by her enthusiasm to share her discoveries of animal and plant life while on your water adventures! Whether you're a beginner snorkeler or advanced scuba diver, her knowledge and expertise always delivers an amazing custom designed experience for everyone.

A DAY ON THE YACHT

If you wish, you will wake up every morning in a new and spectacular location. Your captain can cruise while all the guests on the vessel are asleep, without even noticing it. When you decide to have your first meal, your private chef will prepare your favourite pancakes with homemade strawberry jam or a huge platter of Croatian prosciutto and cheese from the island of Pag, paired with the best Turkish coffee or light lemonade.

After breakfast, you can enjoy the fantastic view from your flybridge or choose to explore the popular Brijuni National Park. If you opt for Brijuni you will be able to enjoy untouched nature, drive through the safari park, watch zebras and elephants or play golf in an unforgettable environment. When you get back to your GRACE yacht charter, feel free to post cool pictures and videos from this amazing national park on social media.

Your private chef, Jerko, will prepare a special lunch of your choice that may consist of bavette steak with asparagus and roasted garlic pan sauce or spinach stuffed salmon. Jerko will be your private chef onboard GRACE yacht charter, and he will continue to amaze you every day. He has decided to embark on a new journey and enter the yachting industry after more than ten years of experience at his previous job as executive Chef in the luxurious hotel ,,Briig’’. He is a popular Croatian chef with a reputation for being skilled, talented, hardworking, and ambitious.

He will prepare amazing cocktails as well as the finest Croatian specialities, which will be presented in a spectacular way. Your private chef is enjoying creating and experimenting with dishes in order to make something different that will still excite your palate.

Jerko is friendly and he will be happy to share his recipes with you. Jerko is enthusiastic to produce one-of-a-kind dishes that will make your jaw drop. Your private chef can prepare anything you want, from pineapple roasted chicken to a ribeye with bacon and wine sauce.

YACHT MAIN DECK

The amazing main deck aft will be your first spot where you will enjoy amazing snacks, specially made by your chef. Here, you also have a wet bar and an alfresco dining area with comfortable sofas and stylish chairs. The dining area on the main deck aft has shade on all 3 sides, which can be lowered to protect you from the sun during the day or from humidity at night.

The main deck salon`s layout is unconventionally designed. Unlike most superyachts, who tend to put the lounge area closer to the stern and the dining area more forward, GRACE does it differently. She has both the features, the salon lounge area and dining area, parallel together, following a straight line stretching as long as the main deck interior does.

Moving forward through the sliding glass doors, you will enter the amazing indoor salon. On the starboard side, you will have a huge sofa ideal for socializing, watching football or having a movie night. On the port side of this main indoor salon, you have a large dining table that can seat up to 10 guests.

The whole space exudes a corporate style that you will enjoy. Furthermore, GRACE yacht charter has huge panoramic windows that will fill the entire place with natural light and you will have an amazing view while watching movies or eating your first meal of the day.

The good feature about this yacht is that she has a large galley from where your private chef will prepare amazing meals and also a lovely day head so you can wash your hands before meals without needing to go to your cabin. Furthermore, on the bow, you have a spacious sunbathing area ideal for tanning or reading your favourite magazine.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The Master Suite

Moving forward, you will arrive at the master suite, beautifully designed in navy style with an ensuite bathroom, a walk-in closet and a huge TV screen. The master cabin sends out a very inviting atmosphere. There are long and wide double windows on both port and starboard sides of the cabin, with a flat-screen TV in front of the king-size berth. The headspace above the king-size berth is intricately designed, so the whole ceiling creates a dynamic flow of energy in GRACES`s master cabin

There is also a working table from where you will be able to reply to all your emails and the Wi-Fi connection is super fast on every inch of the spectacular GRACE yacht charter. Also, the master suite has amazing windows and you will have a new view every time you enter the suite. What I really like about this suite is the huge mirror behind the bed which gives you the impression of a much larger space.

YACHT UPPER DECK

On the upper aft deck, you have a spacious sunbathing area with full-beam sunbeds that can also be used for practising yoga or as an open-air gym area. Moving forward, you will find a lovely dining table with sofas and a wet bar, with 2 stool chairs, from where your private chef or hostess will be able to prepare amazing snacks and cocktails. Moreover, you can cool your favourite beverage here instead of going down on the main deck.

There is also a beautifully designed inside sky lounge. GRACE yacht charter features a TV/media room located close to the captain’s command bridge. While your kids are watching cartoons on the main deck, you can enjoy romantic Netflix movies on the upper deck sky lounge. This whole area is ideal for socializing and having fun with both family and friends.

YACHT LOWER DECK

GRACE`S lower deck consists of two double and two twin cabins, each one a mirror image of the other. This means that there are two identical twin cabins and two identical double cabins. These comfortable and spacious living accommodations are all decorated using a light and bright colour palette. This includes a light grey wool carpet, light matte wood surfaces for the walls and beige leather panels for the ceilings.

A small corner-placed sofa dilutes the massive amount of room in the double cabins, creating a more inviting vibe. Every cabin has its own ensuite, which is well-appointed and capable of handling longer charter voyages. All of the space of the lower deck cabin is completely oversized, meaning that there is excess walk-around room in the cabins, around the berths and particularly in the ensuites; headroom is ample too.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: Two double Staterooms

The amazing feature about VIP staterooms are huge king-size beds in the centre of the stateroom, surrounded by two nightstands. In other staterooms of yachts of this size, it is almost impossible to have the king-sized beds in VIP staterooms and that is one more reason why GRACE yacht charter is an amazing vessel to spend your holiday on.

Furthermore, from your bed, you can watch your favourite movie or football match on the great TV. This stateroom also has a nice sofa where you can relax and watch the beautiful Croatian Adriatic coast through the large window above the bed. In addition, in these two VIP staterooms, you will find a large closet where you can store all your luggage and ensuite bathrooms which have a toilet, sink, huge mirror and a stylish shower.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: Two Twin Cabins

All rooms on the lower deck are designed in a navy style which gives you the real feeling of chartering a superyacht. Moreover, in these two twin cabins with two separated beds, you will have large windows so you will constantly have fresh unpolluted Croatian air and daylight during your vacation.

Your guests will be amazed by their cabins and the layout of the lower deck is perfectly made for having privacy and comfort like you are in a 5-star-hotel. Also, the twin cabins have ensuite bathrooms and great closets perfect for all your belongings.

YACHT BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING PLATFORM

The swimming platform on GRACE yacht charter is huge, considering the overall length of this yacht. There are plenty of options for comfort and luxury, like your crew putting sun pads on the swimming platform, so you could enjoy a pure and uninterrupted connection with the sea.

You can also enjoy perfectly chilled champagne, as you sit on the swimming platform and let your feet splash around in the crystal-clear Croatian Adriatic sea.

In the evening, use your imagination and utilise the swimming platform on your yacht charter in a fairy tale-like way: ask your crew to provide floating lanterns, which you can then light up and release. This way, they can reflect their light as they float up into the night`s sky.

You will be flying like a dolphin above the lively seafloor, observing numerous species of flora and fauna, like sea urchins, fish schools, starfish, seashells and coral. Remember, do not disturb the sea bed, so future generations could also enjoy the bounties of the Croatian Adriatic sea.

My favourite water toy on this superyacht is the amazing jet ski. I was racing with guests from another yacht and it was a spectacular and unforgettable experience for me. If you are an adrenaline junkie, like me, you will be thrilled with this superfast, but also a safe toy that will entertain you every day.

Captain Robert has little more than eight years of experience in the marine industry on motor yachts as a captain and a deckhand/engineer. He is an ambitious person, very dedicated and professional, adapts and handles quickly new situations and fit in the team efficiently. Robert is very communicative, easy going and has always been a great team player. He works closely with his guests to ensure that all of their needs and wants are met.

Petar is born in one of the most beautiful Croatian cities, Split. Since being a kid, he felt a passion for cooking and knew he will become a chef in the future. For the last seven years, that is his calling and he is enjoying his profession. As a kid, he spent a lot of time on the island of Hvar, and fall in love with the sea and seafood. His specialty is the Mediterranean cuisine. Later on, he started to learn about several major regions, including Asian cuisine that he outstandingly combines with the Mediterranean one. This is his first season on MY GRACE and during your stay on MY GRACE you will enjoy in his magnificent food.

Deckhand Petar was born in Split, Croatia and he spent his childhood sailing the Adriatic Sea. Upon completing his education in Split, he started working on motor yachts in 2015. He has worked on M/Y Adriatic Jazz (28 m) as a deckhand and M/V Cargo carrier „Solin“ (198 m) as an engine cadet. He is very reliable when doing his duties on board and always with a smile. He is committed to a life at sea and is a hard-working and fun sailor to be around.

Born and raised in Croatia, in Petrinja, small town southeast of Zagreb. Kristina has been working in hospitality whole of her life, she worked and was surrounded with people which suits her easy going, positive and open-minded character. Kristina has decided to embark on new adventure and join the yachting industry, and it was the best decision she made. Working on the yacht is not just a job, to her is represents a true and great pleasure, and having happy and satisfied guests is Kristina's greatest reward. She is fluent in English.

In 2009, he packed his bags for the islands where he immediately bought and resided on his new boat in the Virgin Islands. Britta came to St Croix as a PADI dive instructor in 2005. She worked in local dive shops and in the hospitality industry, while taking advantage of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean. She honed in her skills as being one of the premiere dive guides and instructors while living in St Croix. While the couple lived in St John Britta spent time aboard a 36' Pearson- "Kiote" offering day sailing excursions the shallow reefs that fringe the East end of the island. Her love of all things underwater is apparent by her enthusiasm to share her discoveries of animal and plant life while on your water adventures! Who was on superyacht that sank off Sicily?

Twenty-two people were on board the Bayesian superyacht including British technology tycoon Mike Lynch, his wife and 18-year-old daughter, and Morgan Stanley International boss Jonathan Bloomer.

Details have emerged of the 22 people who were on board the superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily.

The British-flagged vessel named Bayesian was carrying 12 passengers and 10 members of crew when it got into difficulty in the early hours of Monday.

Seven bodies have now been recovered. The other 15 people on board were rescued.

British technology tycoon Mike Lynch was among the original six people missing. On Thursday, divers confirmed his body had been recovered.

Raised in Ilford, east London by Irish parents, the 59-year-old made millions with the software company Autonomy he set up in 1996.

He had an estimated net worth of £852m, according to the 2023 Sunday Times Rich List, and is believed to have owned the yacht.

Off the back of Automomy's global success, Mr Lynch was given the roles of science adviser to former prime minister David Cameron and non-executive director of the BBC.

The Cambridge maths and sciences graduate sold the firm for £8.64bn to US giant Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2011.

Dubbed the "British Bill Gates", Mr Lynch has been in the headlines in recent months over a high-profile fraud case related to the sale of Autonomy to HP in 2011.

HP accused him of deliberately overstating the value of the company before it was acquired by the American technology firm. Mr Lynch denied any wrongdoing.

In June, a US jury cleared him of all charges .

Hannah Lynch

Mr Lynch's 18-year-old daughter Hannah Lynch was also on board. A body believed to be that of the teenager was recovered on Friday from the yacht wreckage.

She had been on holiday with her parents, having secured a place to study English at the University of Oxford, according to reports.

Her former school, Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, west London, said they were "incredibly shocked by the news that Hannah and her father are among those missing in this tragic accident" when the yacht first sank.

Angela Bacares

Mr Lynch's wife Angela Bacares was on board the yacht and was rescued.

The 57-year-old said she and Mr Lynch were awoken by the boat "tilting" at 4am - half an hour before it sank.

Jonathan Bloomer

Jonathan Bloomer, the chairman of investment bank Morgan Stanley International, was confirmed dead on Thursday.

According to the Financial Times, Mr Bloomer appeared as a defence witness for Mr Lynch during his US criminal trial and the pair were good friends. He also chaired Autonomy's audit committee.

The 70-year-old was the chief executive of UK-Hong Kong insurer Prudential until he was ousted by the board in 2005.

He was also chairman of the insurance provider Hiscox.

Judy Bloomer

Mr Bloomer's wife Judy was on the yacht trip with her husband. Divers confirmed they found her body on Thursday.

Mrs Bloomer was a former board member at The Eve Appeal charity, which focuses on gynaecological cancers.

The charity described her as a "brilliant champion for women's health and medical research... an incredible supporter, committee member, and trustee of our charity for over 20 years".

Recaldo Thomas

The yacht's on-board chef Recaldo Thomas died in the sinking.

He was Canadian-Antiguan and part of the crew of the Bayesian.

His body was the first to be recovered from the wreckage.

Chris Morvillo

US lawyer Chris Morvillo was among those divers found dead on Thursday.

The father-of-two worked on Mr Lynch's US fraud trial and was a partner of law firm Clifford Chance's US branch.

Mr Morvillo was assistant attorney for the Southern District of New York between 1995 and 2005 and worked on the terrorist investigation into the 9/11 attacks.

In a recent LinkedIn post, he thanked the legal team that helped win Mr Lynch's trial.

Signing off the post, he said: "And, finally, a huge thank you to my patient and incredible wife, Neda Morvillo, and my two strong, brilliant, and beautiful daughters, Sabrina Morvillo and Sophia Morvillo.

"None of this would have been possible without your love and support. I am so glad to be home. And they all lived happily ever after…."

Neda Morvillo

Mr Morvillo's wife Neda died in the disaster alongside her husband.

The 57-year-old had a luxury jewellery brand, which she ran under her maiden name Neda Nassiri.

Ayla Ronald

Ayla Ronald, a senior associate at Clifford Chance, survived the yacht disaster, the law firm confirmed.

The 36-year-old worked alongside Chris Morvillo in helping defend Mike Lynch in court.

Clifford Chance said in a statement: "Our utmost priority is providing support to the family as well as our colleague Ayla Ronald, who together with her partner, thankfully survived the incident."

She is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, but lives in London, her father told local media there.

He said she was left "very shaken" but "she and her partner are alive".

Charlotte Golunski

Charlotte Golunski was on board the yacht and was rescued along with her one-year-old daughter, Sofia.

She spoke to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, confirming she survived the yacht sinking and told how she kept her daughter alive after she was rescued.

"I held her afloat with all my strength, my arms stretched upwards to keep her from drowning," she said.

"It was all dark. In the water I couldn't keep my eyes open. I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others."

The 35-year-old is a partner at one of Mr Lynch's firms - Invoke Capital - and has worked there since 2012, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She also worked at Hewlett Packard, which acquired Autonomy in 2011, for 11 months.

Before that, she studied history at the University of Oxford.

James Emsley

Ms Golunski's partner James Emsley was also rescued from the yacht, according to Sicily's civil protection agency.

The 36-year-old is the father of her one-year-old daughter.

James Cutfield

The 51-year-old captain of the yacht spoke to Italian newspaper La Repubblica after he was rescued.

Mr Cutfield, from New Zealand, was taken for treatment at the Termini Imerese emergency unit, where he told the newspaper: "We didn't see it coming."

Leah Randall

Leah Randall was part of the Bayesian crew and survived the sinking.

She was pictured going ashore in Porticello on Monday morning and is from South Africa.

Her mother Heidi told Sky News said she was "beyond relieved that my daughter's life was spared by the grace of God".

"It doesn't make it any easier living with the heartache of those who have lost their lives [or are] missing. My very deepest condolences to the chef's family as they formed a great friendship," she said.

Katja Chicken

Katja Chicken was another South African member of crew on board the Bayesian and was pictured being brought to safety in Porticello on Monday.

The Italian coastguard confirmed on Tuesday evening that Leo Eppel, a crew member, also survived the yacht sinking.
